Author note: a silly fic that I thought of while listening to Savage Garden... hope you all like it :-)

Something was wrong with Spike. Dawn had made this decision over a week ago, when visiting him. He had barely spoken the entire time, and it was obvious he'd trashed his crypt and had been crying.
But Spike had been his stubborn self and refused to tell her what had upset him, although Dawn already knew. The one and only person who could affect Spike like this was the other person Dawn was deeply concerned about - Buffy.
Buffy had been different ever since she'd come back, and was surely getting worse, especially after Anya and Xander broke up.
Anya and Xander were Dawn's biggest problem, or at least Xander was. She couldn't understand why Xander would leave the woman he loved so much, or why Anya would just let it happen.
Finally, Dawn was worried about Willow and Tara. She woke up every morning hoping today would be the day the Wiccas would reunite, but they never did. Willow barely spoke of Tara, but when she was brought up in the conversation, Willow's face lit up and it was obvious she still loved her. Dawn had no doubt that Tara still loved Willow too.
"Stupid stubborn people." Dawn muttered as she finished her diary entry. "Why can't they just tell me the truth? I'm only trying to help."
She had expected Spike to tell her the truth at least. He always promised her he'd never lie to her.
"Stupid vampire." Dawn paced her room, trying to think of how to fix things before they got any worse.
She needed Spike to get his act together and tell Buffy he loved her. She needed Tara to attempt reconciling with Willow. She needed Xander to grow up. She needed Buffy to stop moping about all the time.
She needed to get everyone to tell the truth.
Suddenly something clicked. Dawn remembered that night at the Bronze, where everyone sung out their feelings.
"Sweet!" She called, hoping he could hear her. Nothing happened. "SWEET!" Dawn yelled again.
In a puff of mist, the red demon appeared, dressed in a white silk tux. "Dawn. How are you, my love?"
"Fine. I need your help." Dawn smiled at him.
"You want people to start telling the truth." Sweet concluded.
"Yep." Dawn nodded. "But I won't be your bride."
"Eh, that's okay." Sweet clicked his fingers and a gem appeared in Dawn's hand. "I have other business to attend to, but when you want the singing to start, just rub this."
"Okay." Dawn stared at the sparkling thing. She looked back up to ask Sweet something, but he was gone.
She checked the clock. It was 5pm, and the sun was aleady starting to set. She assumed Anya would be at the Magic Box - she'd been working non-stop since Xander broke up with her, with Willow and Tara's help. Buffy would be stopping there after work at 5:30, and if she could get Xander and Spike there she could fix things tonight.
Smiling mischievously, she left to go and get Spike and Xander.

"I thought you said she wasn't going to be here." Spike glared at Dawn.
Buffy blushed and looked away.
"I didn't know. What's the big deal?" Dawn sighed heavily and sat down.
"I'm leaving." Spike announced, turning and opening the door to the shop.
"Spike, come on. Stay." Buffy insisted quietly.
Dawn looked at him, giving him her best puppy-dog look. "Please?"
"Don't try that face, Nibblet." Spike growled and sat down grudgingly.
Buffy glanced at him, but Spike was keen on ignoring her.
Willow watched the two and wondered what was going on. She looked at Tara as if to say, "What's going on? Did I miss something?"
Tara blushed and looked away. She wasn't a good liar, especially when it was to Willow.
"Okay, I'm here." Xander called as he entered. Dawn sighed in relief.
Anya emerged from the storage room and froze. Everyone watched keenly as she glared at Xander.
"What do YOU want?" Anya hissed.
Xander sat down and didn't offer and sat down next to Spike. Buffy tried not to laugh out loud at the almost identical grouchy looks on their faces.
"Why are we all here, Dawn? Can you please explain?" Spike snapped, again frowning at Buffy.
"I just thought it would be nice if we spent time together." Dawn gave them an encouraging smile.
"No!" Anya, Spike and Buffy said firmly at the same time.
Dawn rolled her eyes and reached into her jacket to get the gem. Willow feebly tried to make conversation as Dawn started to rub the gem.
Another awkward silence passed. Dawn was starting to worry if it had worked or not when Spike stood up and spoke. From nowhere a piano backed him up.

SPIKE - I'll say goodbye to love
No one ever cared if I should live or die
Time and time again the chance for love has passed me by
And all I know of love is how to live without it
I just can't seem to find it
There are no tomorrows for this heart of mine
There may come a time when I will see that I've been wrong
But for now this is my song.

Everyone stared at him in horror, most of them shocked by the outburst of song. But Buffy was shocked by what he said - there was so much pain in his eyes as he spoke. She suddenly felt like crying. Spike sat back down, eyes wide and mouth clamped firmly shut.
"What just happened?" Willow squeaked.
Xander raised his hands in the air. "It wasn't me, I swear."
"Really, Xander?" Anya glared at him. "Because you do a lot of stupid things."
"Ahn, please, honey."
"Don't. Don't you dare, Xander." She stood up and was about to leave, her back to the Scoobies, when words flew out of her mouth in a melody.

ANYA - Baby tell me where'd you ever learn
To waltz back into my life, like it's all gonna be alright...
Don't you know how much it hurts...
When we don't talk,
when we don't touch,
when it doesn't feel like we're even in love...
Well, I don't know what to say, don't know what to do, don't even know if it matters to you...
How can I make you see?
It matters to me.

She broke down in tears. Dawn hurried over and hugged Anya as she cried. Xander scooped her into his arms and sat down with her, clutching her to him as she continued crying.
As he held her, he said in the softest of whispers,

XANDER - Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one else above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles that's what you do...

Anya smiled up at him and continued.

ANYA - There's a love that's divine
and it's yours and it's mine like the sun
And at the end of the day
we should give thanks and pray

XANDER & ANYA - And have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there's no one else above you
You fill my heart with gladness
Take away my sadness
Ease my troubles that's what you do...

Everyone watched on with smiles as Xander kissed Anya.
"I love you, Xander." Anya whispered.
"I love you too." He kissed her again.
Buffy glanced at Spike. He returned her gaze for a brief second, then looked away, embarassed.
Feeling words jump into her mouth, Buffy started her song.

Buffy started to sing, unable to control the words flowing from her. She gazed at Spike longingly as she sang.

BUFFY - You ask me if I love you
And I choke on my reply
I'd rather hurt you honestly
Than mislead you with a lie
And who am I to judge you
In what you say or do
I'm only just beginning
To see the real you
And sometimes when we touch
The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I want to hold you till I die
Till we both break down and cry
I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

Spike stared at her, touched by what she was saying. Buffy crawled across the table, startling all those around them, but Buffy ignored it and jumped into his arms.

BUFFY - At times I'd like to break you
And drive you to your knees
At times I'd like to break through
And hold you endlessly
At times I understand you
And I know how hard you try...

SPIKE - I've watched while love commands you
And I've watched love pass you by
At times I think we're drifters
Still searching for someone,
And then our passion flares again...

BUFFY & SPIKE - I want to hold you till I die,
I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides...

They ended the song with a passionate kiss.
Willow smiled as she watched them whisper apologies to each other. Tara and Dawn were both teary-eyed at the romance that had suddenly sparked between Slayer and vampire.
All eyes flew to Xander when he yelped - "What the-"
Anya slapped a hand over his mouth. "Shh."
Xander tried to speak, but Anya's hand muffled his furious protests.
"I love you, Buffy." Spike said softly, as she devoured his lips in another greedy kiss.
"Vampire!" Xander cried angrily, pulling Anya's hand away. "He's a vampire!"
"He's MY vampire." Buffy corrected, a huge smile plastered on her face.
"But-- but---- he's a--- but---" Xander struggled to find a way to argue with her. He'd never seen her, or anyone for that matter, this happy.
"Shutup, Xander." Willow said softly, staring at Tara. Something told her any moment she'd start singing, and she had no idea what to say. But the words came as she stood and walked over to Tara.

WILLOW - I can feel the magic floating in the air
Being with you gets me that way
All my thoughts just seem to settle on the breeze
When I'm lying wrapped up in your arms
The whole world just fades away
The only thing I hear is the beating of your heart

Tara smiled at her as Willow pulled her into a loving embrace.

TARA - I can feel you breathe
It's washing over me
Suddenly I'm melting into you
There's nothing left to prove
Baby all we need is just to be...

TARA & WILLOW - Caught up in the touch
The slow and steady rush
Baby, isn't that the way that love's supposed to be?

They kissed softly as the music faded away. "I love you, Wills." Tara said, resting her head on Willow's shoulder.
"I love you too." Willow clutched Tara to her in fear she might get away again.
Dawn smiled to herself, watching the three couples before her. Spike was holding Buffy to him, whispering something to her that made her smile and kiss him. Anya and Xander were kissing passionately. Tara and Willow were floating above the ground, still cuddling and apologizing to each other.
Dawn was really proud of herself - she hadn't been expecting it to end like this, and was immensely pleased.
Again, out of nowhere, a guitar started. The Scoobies seperated from their partners and started the final song...

Buffy wrapped herself around Spike happily as the song began, nuzzling his neck affectionately. She'd never wanted anyone so bad. A guitar riff opened the song...

ALL - I believe the sun should never set upon an argument

WILLOW - I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned

BUFFY & SPIKE - I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned

ANYA - I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side

XANDER, WILLOW & BUFFY - I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

WILLOW & TARA - I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality

SPIKE - I believe your most attractive features are your heart and soul

DAWN - I believe that family is worth more than money or gold

BUFFY - I believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair

WILLOW - I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned

BUFFY & SPIKE - I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned

ANYA - I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side

SPIKE & BUFFY - I believe in love surviving death into eternity...

ALL - I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

"I'm so sorry I left you." Buffy whispered as the music faded away. Spike nodded and kissed her reassuringly.
"Okay... not that I'm not happy and all, but what just happened?" Xander asked. "Who did this?"
"Maybe nobody did." Willow said quietly, playing with Tara's long blonde hair.
"Yeah, Willow. We just jumped up and started singing for no reason." Xander replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
"I did it." Dawn spoke up.
Everyone turned to look at her. "Excuse me?" Buffy said, moving away from Spike momentarily. "You did this?"
"I was sick of you all being miserable and lying to me." Dawn replied calmly. "So I got Sweet to help me."
"You got help from a demon?" Buffy was slowly getting madder and madder at her younger sister.
"He's not a bad demon." Dawn explained. "Like Spike. He's really a big softie."
Spike scowled and pulled Buffy back into his arms as means of comfort.
"You're still my Big Bad." Buffy whispered, planting tiny kisses on his earlobe. Spike clutched her to him, catching her lips in his passionately.
"Did you maybe put some spell on Buffy?" Xander said weakly, feeling ill at the sight of the Slayer making out with Spike.
"No. That's just love." Dawn smiled. Xander shuddered.
"She's right. I do love you." Buffy said quietly, snuggling into Spike's arms.
Spike smiled. "I love you too."
"Xander, let's go home. There's lots of sex to be had." Anya dragged a beetroot-red Xander out the door.
"We're gonna go too." Tara said softly. She added quickly, smiling at Spike and Buffy, "I'm really happy for you two."
Buffy grinned. "Thanks."
"I'll see you guys later." Dawn followed Willow and Tara home.
"Just us then, kitten." Spike said softly.
"I really am sorry, baby." Buffy said again, leading him outside.
"S'okay, luv." Spike stood, scooping her up and wrapping her legs around his waist. He started to walk them home.

SPIKE - My love I offer you now
My heart and all it can give
For just as long as I live I知 yours
No arms but yours dear will do
My lips will always be true
My eyes can only see you, I知 yours

BUFFY - And as the years roll along
Your joy and tears I値l gladly share
And when things go wrong dear
Just hold out your hand and I値l be there
With every beat of my heart
With every breath that I take
Now and forever, sweetheart, I知 yours...

They kissed wildly, celebrating their newfound love under the stars of the night.

The End - did you like it? :-) I hope so...
