Prologue

“Buffy! Over here!” Cordelia Chase called to her best friend Buffy Summers. Cordelia was standing under the tree in the foyer of Sunnydale High School, with fellow friends Harmony Kendall and Anya Jenkins. These four were the popular girls of the school, even though they were just juniors.

“Hey guys!” Buffy smiled sweetly as she walked up to them.

“Buffy, how was your date last night with Angel?” Anya asked. “Did you get orgasms finally?”

Angel O’Conner was the most popular guy in school. Student body president, star quarterback, and star point guard made him well liked and well hated. Of course, he had to be Buffy’s boyfriend, because it’s only right for the best of the best to be together. These types were programmed to be together.

“He had to cancel, something came up with his grandpa.” Buffy stated with a sad tone.

“He’s cheating.” Harmony blurted out. “He has to be, I mean grandpa? So the oldest line in the book.”

The girls all looked at her shocked, but before anyone could say anything Angel walked up with the other popular guys of the school, Daniel Osbourne, or Oz for short, Charles Gunn, who only goes by Gunn, and Riley Finn.

“Hey Buffy.” Angel walked up behind her, snaking his arms around her waist.

Buffy smiled to the girls, giving them a look of ‘Who would he cheat on, no one’s better’.

“Girls.” Angel acknowledged them with a nod.

“Angel.” Cordelia stated looking at her nails. She then turned her attention to the other guys. “So Gunn, how’s your cyber girlfriend, Fred? Sounds more like a guy to me.”

Everyone laughed at that statement, and Gunn felt the heat rise in his cheeks. “Fuck you Cordelia.”

Buffy smiled. “Now now, is there reason for potty mouths? Let’s get to class guys.”

“Class? Did you hit your head?” Harmony asked in a state of shock.

“Maybe she cheered too loud at the last football game.” Riley chuckled.

Buffy gave him a death glare. “No, it’s just mom said if she gets another call of a missed class then I can’t go to the junior/senior prom!”

Anya gasped. “But Buffy, you’re a shoe-in for prom queen! You have to go!”

“Exactly.” Buffy responded.

“You have to go sweetheart. I wouldn’t want to win the crown with anyone other than you.” Angel commented nuzzling her neck. “Anyway, I’m sorry about last night, can I take my rain check for tonight? I’ll cook you dinner at my place, my parents are out of town for the weekend.”

“Sounds like a winner.” Buffy accepted, smiling.

Cordelia winked at her, and thought ‘this is the night.’

The Tables Are Always Turning

Chapter 2

Buffy’s smile was permanently plastered to her face all day throughout school. To someone who was fully there in the mind, their muscles would’ve been hurting like a bitch. Buffy though, was in her own world. All she knew was that tonight was the night that she would lose her virginity. How she knew? She wasn’t sure. She assumed it was women’s intuition.

“Ms. Summers?” Jenny Calendar, the computer programming teacher called on Buffy.

“Yeah?” Buffy answered, shaking herself out of her daydream.

“No, I believe the correct answer was the F2 key,” Ms. Calendar scolded Buffy. “I recommend you start paying attention in class, unless you rather see me after school.”

“Paying attention ma’am,” Buffy mock saluted Ms. Calendar, causing a few sneers from the students.

“Very well, as I was saying…”

The rest was drowned out by the ticking of the clock as the minutes went by. Buffy was in her last class of the day and she was ready to start preparing for her big night, all the while doodling hearts on her notebook with ‘Ms. Angel O’Conner’ written inside of them.

---

“Buffy, what are you going to wear? You’ve been going through your closet for the last hour with no luck!” Dawn whined. “I’m tired, why do I have to be in here?!”

“I don’t know. It must be temporary insanity. Get out and I’ll call Cordy,” Buffy ordered her.

“Fine, it’s not like you ever want me around anyway,” Dawn complained, before storming out of Buffy’s room and slamming the door behind her.

Buffy looked at the door with a confused look on her face, and then quickly shook it aside, looking at the mounds of clothes that cluttered on her floor and the empty hangers than hung in her closet.

Sighing to herself, she picked up her pink cordless phone and dialed the number she knew so well by heart. Listening to it ring and waiting for Cordelia to pick it up, she glanced around at her room. With pastel pink walls, shelves lined with trophies ranging from ‘Sunnydale Winter Princess’ to ‘Homecoming Queen’, frilly pink sheets with hearts all over them, stuffed animals, and billions of picture frames with pictures of Cordelia, Harmony, Anya, Angel, Gunn, Riley, Oz, and herself in them.

“Hello?” Cordelia’s voice broke her out of her reminiscing.

“Hey Cordy, it’s me,” Buffy responded into the receiver.

“Let me guess, outfit problems?”

“You know me all too well.”

“You and every other girl. Anyway, what’s the problem? You have like, so many cute outfits.”

“Yeah but I don’t want cute, I want sexy.”

“Well then you’re shit out of luck,” Cordelia flat out told her.

Buffy frowned, “What do you mean?”

“Buff, you’re a girly girl. You wear short skirts and pink polo’s, body shimmer, and watermelon lip gloss. That doesn’t classify as sexy, that classifies as cute.”

As brutally honest as Cordelia was, she sure put things into perspective. “You’re right,” Buffy responded, beginning to panic. “So what do I do?!”

“Steal something of Faith’s,” Cordelia stated matter-of-factly.

Buffy gasped. ‘She wants me to wear something of Faith’s?! She’s insane!’ Buffy thought to herself. Faith Summers was Buffy’s twin sister. They were both seventeen and gorgeous, but with totally different personalities. Ever since they were small, Faith felt that their parents, Hank and Joyce Summers gave all the attention to Buffy. When she was old enough, Faith died her hair dark brown, and started wearing leather, especially in the colors black and red. She tries to make herself look different than her sister. She hardly attends school, and when she does, she’s a troublemaker. She listens to hard rock and metal music, where as Buffy listens to pop. They used to be close and alike, but now their differences are never ending. Dawn, their fourteen year old sister, is close to Faith, but wants to be like Buffy more than anything.

“You’re kidding me!” Buffy exclaimed.

“Hon, your sister lives of edge. She’s wild, she’s sexy, and she’s what all guys want to fuck. I’m not kidding you. Now you called me and wanted my opinion, I suggest you take it,” Cordelia firmly told her.

“But what do I steal?” Buffy asked.

“Trust me, you’ll know. Now I’m late for my manicure, I’ll talk to you later gorgeous. I want you calling me with details the first time you get a chance tomorrow. ‘Kay?”

“You bet. Bye Cordelia and thanks!”

“Don’t mention it. I’ll talk to you later sweetie.”

Buffy hung up the phone and ran her hands through her long blonde locks. ‘I can do this, I can do this.’ She kept repeating over and over in her head. She bit her bottom lip, and headed out of her room.

---

Stealthily walking halfway down the steps, Buffy peered through the banister, and noticed Faith and Dawn lounging on the couch watching the television.

‘Okay that might make it a little easier,’ Buffy thought, chewing lightly on her bottom lip.

Being just as quiet going up the stairs as she was going down, Buffy snuck down the hallway, passing the first door on the left, her room. Going to the next door on the left, Buffy grabbed a hold of the doorknob, and twisted as slowly as she could, trying not to make a sound. When the door was successfully opened, Buffy tiptoed inside, quickly yet quietly shutting the door behind her. Looking around the mess that her sister called a room, Buffy sighed. ‘This has to be the dumbest idea ever to pass through her head, and that’s saying something,’ she thought to herself. Faith’s room had black walls, with posters of various bands posted on the walls. She had silk red sheets on her bed and clothes all over the floor. Scattered on her desk was her laptop, and billions of CDs with Parental Advisory warnings.

Again, unsure what came over her, Buffy decided it was now or never. Stepping over the piles of clothes, Buffy made her way to the closet door. She opened the closet door and peered inside.

“When did Faith get such good taste?” Buffy muttered out loud.

Pushing the clothes to the sides rapidly, Buffy looked at each outfit that was still in there and not on the floor wrinkled and dirty.

“No, no, no, no,” Buffy kept muttering as she went through piece by piece.

Just when she thought it was hopeless, her fingers came in touch with the best outfit she could hope for. A black leather miniskirt and a red sequined halter top. She already had the knee high black leather boots to go with it. She was going to rock Angel’s world tonight- or at least she hoped she knew how to, from what she’s heard Faith talk about. Buffy chewed on her bottom lip again at the thoughts running through her head. ‘What if I’m not good enough? What if he doesn’t like this look?’

Still unsure what she wanted to do, she thought back to her earlier conversation with Cordelia. ‘She’s wild, she’s sexy, and she’s what all guys want to fuck,’ Cordelia had told her.

“She’s right,” Buffy said out loud. Holding the outfit up to her body and looking into Faith’s floor length mirror, Buffy smiled at the outrageous outfit she held in her hand; the total opposite of her pastel pink polo’s and white cotton miniskirts.

“Perfect,” Buffy decided, grinning like a madwoman when she gained the confidence she needed. She held on to the outfits and quietly shut Faith’s door. “That was easier than I thought,” Buffy giggled, beyond excited about her upcoming night.

“What the hell are you doing?” A voice came from the doorway.

Buffy gasped and turned around suddenly. Busted.

The Tables Are Always Turning

Chapter 3

“What the hell are you doing?” A voice came from the doorway.

Buffy gasped and turned around suddenly. Busted.

“Dawn!” Buffy screeched, putting her hand on her chest above her rapidly beating heart. “You scared me half to death!”

“Yeah, but you should thank your lucky stars it was me and not Faith,” Dawn told her.

Buffy nodded, still trying to get a hold of her breathing.

“Anyway, as I was saying, what are you doing in Faith’s room? You usually try to avoid this place,” Dawn asked, “and why are you holding her clothes?”

“I was-,”

“The truth Buffy,” Dawn interrupted her.

“Okay fine. Look Dawnie, the truth is I wanted to look sexy for my date tonight,” Buffy admitted.

“But Buffy, you always look sexy!” Dawn argued.

“No, I look cute, there’s a difference,” Buffy stated.

“Whatever, besides, Faith is never going to let you wear her clothes,” Dawn said, crossing her arms over her chest.

Buffy walked over to her and put her arm around her youngest sister. “This is exactly why she isn’t going to know. Right?”

Dawn looked at Buffy shocked. “What are you saying?”

“That I’m not asking, and you aren’t telling,” Buffy sternly told Dawn.

“And what exactly do I get out of this?” Dawn asked.

“I’ll let you wear my clothes for a week.”

“Two,” Dawn negotiated.

“Fine, but then you also have to cover for me tonight with mom and dad get home and tell them that I’m at Cordelia’s spending the night when they ask,” Buffy bargained back.

“You’ve got yourself a deal,” Dawn promised.

“Thanks Dawnie! You’re going to be just like me when you grow up,” Buffy assured her, causing Dawn to beam. “Now I have to go get ready, I’ll see you tomorrow sometime in the afternoon.” Buffy then proceeded to leave the room and headed into her own to start her makeover from cute to sexy.

---

6:00 came and Buffy couldn’t be more nervous. After redoing her hair and makeup what seemed to be like 50 times each, she figured she was ready, and all she could do now was wait for Angel to pick her up.

Glancing at herself in the mirror once more, she was pleased with her appearance. She was wearing the mini black leather skirt, the red sequined halter top, and a leather black jacket overtop of it, with her knee high black boots completing the outfit. Her eyes were outlined in black, with smoky black eyeliner completing her dark vampiress look. Mascara lengthened her eyelashes, and a light rouge flushed her cheeks. Shiny lip gloss was rolled perfectly on her lips, and a floral perfume was applied to all of her pressure points. Her hair was layered in twirls cascading over her shoulders.

A car horn blared bringing her out of her appraisal of herself. “Angel,” she muttered to herself, the butterflies coming back in full force to her stomach. She was too in love with him to realize that he never came to the door.

Grabbing her purse, she turned off the light to her to her room and tip-toed down the stairs. She reached the front door, and turned the knob.

“Where are you going?” A voice came from the living room.

“What’s it to you Faith?” Buffy asked, pissed off that her sister decided now was the time to talk to her.

“Can’t I ask where my twin is going?” Faith’s voice floated back into the room.

“No, you really can’t,” Buffy told her.

“Do mom and dad know?” Faith questioned.

“Of course!”

“Great, well then I’ll call them and find out if I can go too,” Faith bounced back. She was still sitting on the couch, her eyes glued to the TV set.

“Damnit Faith. I’m going to the Bronze and then to sleepover at Cordelia’s. Happy?” Buffy admitted.

“Yep, no annoying twin sister in the house for a whole night? I’m just five by five,” Faith grinned. “Maybe I should come outside and have a word with the queen bitch herself.”

“Too late Faith, I’m already gone!” Buffy told her, before she proceeded to slam the door on her way out, as Angel blasted the horn again.

‘Damn that was close,’ Buffy thought to herself as she made her way down the walk to Angel’s black BMW convertible. ‘I don’t know how I would’ve explained my outfit to her.’

“Hey baby,” Angel greeted her with a kiss on the lips as she entered the car. “You look extremely sexy.”

“Thanks,” Buffy smiled at the compliment before kissing him again, this time a little more confidently.

“Ready for our date?” Angel asked when they broke apart for air.

“To your house,” Buffy directed.

“To my house,” Angel agreed, putting the car in drive and pulling away from the curb, speeding down Revello Drive with a smirk on his face.

The Tables Are Always Turning

Chapter 4

One year later

“B, come on! First day of our senior year! Only one more and we’re out of this hell hole!” Faith called up the stairs to Buffy.

“Why the hell do I need to go?” Buffy called back down. “It’s not like I’m ever going to show up again anyway.”

“Because, we go the first day, make the teachers lives a living hell and they won’t care if we come back or not,” Faith told her in a ‘duh’ voice.

Buffy came pounding down the stairs in her camouflage army pants, black boots, and a tight spaghetti strap tank top. Her hair was still blonde, but her make up was dark and smoky, and she had dark red lipstick on. “Fine, but only because you say so.”

Faith grinned, loving her new sister. It had been almost a year since she changed, and Faith didn’t know the reason for it, but didn’t want to question it.

“You look hot Faithy,” Buffy complimented her.

“I know,” Faith grinned. She was wearing black leather pants, and a red halter top. “Now let’s go.”

“Bye family!” Buffy yelled throughout the house, before leaving arm and arm with Faith, not bothering to wait for a response.

They piled into Faith’s black jeep, because Buffy and cars aren’t mix-y, and headed to Sunnydale High for their last first day of school.

---

The girls got out of the jeep, cause every guys’ head to turn. They were lookers, but that was about it. Buffy was more of a coldhearted bitch, although they were both willing to fuck just about anyone.

They put on their stolen Oakley sunglasses, and linked arms again, walking across the schoolyard and heading toward the school.

“Buffy! Hey girl!” Cordelia called to her, from the popular kids spot under the tree.

Buffy didn’t even turn, and just kept walking with Faith, but not before she flicked them off.

“Jeez, what’s her drama?” Cordelia asked Harmony.

“I don’t know, it’s just ever since her date with Angel, she’s been different,” Harmony informed them, looking questionably at Angel.

Angel just shrugged, but not before letting a brief smirk fall over his features.

---

FLASHBACK

“Mmmm,” Buffy moaned happily, waking up from wonderful dreams. Last night was the best night of her life. Angel made her homemade lasagna with garlic bread and a Caesar salad. They had a little bit of red wine as well. Then, he took her into his bedroom, where they made love, and she lost her virginity. She told him then that she loved him for the first time, right before she fell asleep. What she didn’t know was- he didn’t say it back.

Buffy reached her arm over, expecting to feel the warm, muscular body of her boyfriend. Instead, she felt the cold rumpled sheets. “Angel?” Buffy questioned softly. When she got no response, she quickly set up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

“Angel?” She called again, louder this time. Seeing her clothes on the floor, she quickly put them on, and padded barefoot out of his room.

After checking all of the rooms upstairs, including the shower, she couldn’t find Angel.

As she was about to go downstairs, she heard the front door open and shut. Quickly running downstairs, she found Angel in the kitchen, with carryout breakfast from the diner down the street.

“Hey baby,” Buffy greeted him, wrapping her arms around her shoulders and giving him a peck on the lips. “You got breakfast? Yum, what did you get me?”

“Oh, you’re still here?” Angel asked, like he just noticed she was there.

The smile on Buffy’s features immediately turned into a frown. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“It’s just that, after the performance you gave last night, I thought you’d be embarrassed and run off,” Angel told her, looking at her from his breakfast for one.

“I-I don’t understand. Was it me? Was I not good?” Buffy asked, tears brimming in her emerald eyes.

Angel chuckled then answered sarcastically, “You were great. Really. I thought you were a pro.”

Buffy couldn’t hold it in any longer before she burst out into sobs. She ran out of the kitchen and quickly put her boots on, grabbed her jacket and purse, and looked one last time into the kitchen, hoping Angel would come after her, or that she would wake up in his arms in his bed and this would all just be a dream.

He didn’t come after her, and she didn’t wake up. She stepped outside into the bright morning sun, and made her way home, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Chapter 5

“William, I must say I’m impressed. Your grades are impeccable,” Principal Snyder complimented the boy while going over his transferring papers and permanent record.

“Th-thank you sir,” William Giles stumbled. He was a rather cute boy, with gorgeous blue eyes, that were hidden behind wire rimmed glasses that were perched on top of his nose and curly brown hair that fell into his eyes. He has very angular cheekbones, and full pouty lips. His style must be the fetish in London, where he moved from, but he was donned in a tweed suit with a cotton stripped tie to complete the look.

“Well, my son works very hard,” Rupert Giles, Spike’s ruggedly handsome father told Principal Snyder. The two Giles men were sitting across from Principal Snyder in his office. Rupert Giles, who preferred to be called Giles by the people closest to him, was the new school librarian.

“I can tell. Straight A’s in all advanced classes, scholarships to Oxford already. We could easily use a mind like this in Sunnydale,” Snyder commented, raising his eyes to meet William’s. “You seem nervous son. Act nervous and these hellions will eat you alive.”

William gulped, “I-I can’t help it.”

“He’s worried about making new friends,” Giles stepped in for his son.

“Oh, well you don’t have to worry about that. In about a week or so, after you get settled in, I could have you start to tutor someone. You know those smart kids who don’t care about their grades. Maybe then you could get to know more people. Would you be interested?” Snyder proposed.

“Yes sir,” William responded causing Snyder to smile.

“Great. Now, I think you should proceed to your first period,” Snyder said as the bell rang. He wrote William a pass so he would be excused. “I’ll call you in my office in a week or two and we’ll talk about tutoring.”

“Okay,” William said getting up. “Thank you sir.”

Giles also stood and shook Snyder’s hand. “Thank you.”

Snyder smiled as the Giles men left. “Got to love corrupting and suckering the new minds,” He muttered out loud.

---

William sighed and leaned against a locker. It was hopeless; he was lost. It had been a good ten minutes since he left Snyder’s office. He stupidly rejected his father’s offer of showing him his way to class, since Giles has already been acquainted with the school a week earlier, due to working here. William was afraid of being seen with his father, for it would be very embarrassing. He didn’t realize the tweed suit was embarrassing enough. He was a cute sight though.

Wiping his forehead with the back of his hand, he stood up straight and readjusted his tie. He could do this. Sure he didn’t even know his way back to the library to ask his dad for help, but there had to be someone around.

William started walking the opposite way of where he came, assuming that he hadn’t passed it already. As he rounded the corner, he ran right smack into a body, causing them both to fall to the ground.

“Hey! Watch it!” The girl screamed at him, as she picked herself up at the ground.

William looked up at her, and saw the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen in his entire existence. More beautiful than his London crush Cecily.

“I-I’m sorry,” He stuttered.

Buffy rolled her eyes. “Great. That’s all my reputation needs. I talked to a guy who stutters and wears tweed.” She was ditching first period since it was history. Who cares what happens in the past; live in the now.

William picked himself up off the ground as well, and again, readjusted his tie. He must of got that habit from Giles always cleaning his glasses. “I’m William.”

“Oh look, you didn’t stutter. Great, now get out of my way,” Buffy told him, obviously annoyed. She wanted to walk to 7-11 and grab a Slurpee before chemistry, which she had with Faith.

“What’s your name?” William asked her as she side stepped him.

Buffy turned around to face him again. She smirked, “You’ll find out soon enough.”

William looked confused. “What’s that mean?”

“Again, you’re wasting my time,” Buffy looked down at her nails.

“Um, can you tell me how to get to history?” William asked her. “I have it with Ms. McGee.”

Buffy’s eyes lit up. ‘That’s the class I just skipped. This shows promise.’ She thought to herself. ‘Nah, never mind. He wouldn’t cover for me anyway.’

“Sure sweetie. They’re holding it on the football field today. Just walk outside and all the way around to the other side of the school and you’re there,” She told him.

“Thank you! No wonder I haven’t been able to find it!” William exclaimed. He took one last look at the golden beauty before heading out the nearest door.

“What a loser,” Buffy muttered as she continued on her merry way. Little did she know this ‘loser’ would soon change her life.

Chapter 6

One Week Later

“Faith Summers do you understand me? You will not graduate unless you get a tutor and your grades improve!” Joyce Summers yelled at her daughter.

“Daddy!” Faith whined. “Make mother understand.”

Hank looked at his eldest daughter, who was older than Buffy by two minutes, with disappointment. “Sweetie, you know you want to graduate and get out of school. You need a tutor to do that.”

“But what about Buffy? I go to class more than she does,” Faith complained.

“Yes, but she has three good years under her belt. God knows what happened now,” Joyce shook her head. “Plus, she isn’t doing all that bad when she actually attends her classes.”

They were sitting in Hank’s study having a lovely heart to heart when Buffy barged in.

“Faith, the gang’s heading out, ready to go?” Buffy asked her.

“Buffy Anne Summers! Where you do think you’re going dressed like that?!” Hank yelled at his daughter outraged.

“Out,” Buffy answered with a glare. She was wearing black leather pants and a black bra with a see through red blouse over it. Her hair was straightened over her shoulders and her makeup was still dark and smoky.

Hank sighed. ‘What happened to her?’ He thought to himself. Really, he could only handle one outrageous daughter.

Faith got up and began to head toward the door.

“Sit,” Joyce told her. “We aren’t finished yet.

“Mom!” Faith whined.

“Buffy we’ll just be another few minutes. Go wait in the living room for her,” Joyce told her.

“Okay but when they get pissed we’re late, you’re explaining it Faith,” Buffy told her as she left and shut the door behind her.

“Now that the interruptions are done, there is no more discussion, you are having a tutor and you are graduating. Do you know what it could do to my job to have a daughter that didn’t graduate and had to repeat? It’s bad enough you girls are like you are, but now this? Really Faith, I thought you were better than this,” Hank reprimanded her.

“Well you thought wrong Hank,” Faith’s voice rose as she emphasized his name. She was clearly outraged.

“Now, Faith, his name is William Giles and he will be coming over every Wednesday and Friday for two hours,” Joyce told her. “I believe his father is the librarian. Do you know him?”

“Mom, does it look like I go into the library? And wait a minute, every FRIDAY?! Mom! You know I have plans on Fridays!” Faith yelled.

“Well, those plans will have to wait until after the tutoring session. Now this decision is final, or you will be losing your summer and going to summer school, as well as repeating next year. Now I don’t think you want that,” Joyce told her firmly.

“So more school, what do I care?” Faith shot back.

“How about no car?” Hank asked her.

Faith whipped her head to look at him so fast, she probably got whiplash. She glared at him, “Fine. Tutoring it is. But I don’t have to like it.”

“What do you like anymore?” Hank asked her.

“So who is this kid again?” Faith asked, totally ignoring the question.

“William Giles. He just moved here this year from London. He’s quite a nice boy, he lives just a few houses down,” Joyce told her.

“Oh yeah, him. No I have no idea who you’re talking about,” Faith shook her head.

Hank sighed. “Well, you will when you start Wednesday. It’s Friday, so you have a while to figure out who he is.”

“Yeah whatever, I have better things to think about,” Faith told him.

“Faith!” Buffy screamed through the door as she banged loudly on it. “Would you hurry it up? We’re already 15 minutes late!”

“See ya,” Faith told her parents as she stood up.

“Be home by midnight!” Joyce told her.

“Mom it’s already 10, we aren’t going to be home by midnight. Would you guys just screw the parent act? We aren’t who you want us to be, deal with it,” Faith told him as she left.

Joyce sighed and ran her hands through her hair. “Where did we go wrong Hank?”

“I don’t think we did dear. I think this is all their choice,” Hank told her.

---

“So where to?” Faith asked Buffy when they were sitting in the Jeep in the driveway.

“Club Platinum,” Buffy told her.

“Great B. Except our 18th Birthday isn’t for another couple of months, and you have to be 18 to get in,” Faith pointed out.

“When has the law ever stopped us?” Buffy asked her. “Darla got us a couple of fake IDs.”

She pulled them out of her back pocket and handed them to Faith.

“Tight B!” Faith exclaimed looking at the IDs. “I’m Tiffany?”

“Yeah, well I’m Lisa so don’t complain,” Buffy said.

“21, nice. We can drink!” Faith exclaimed.

“I know!” Buffy said excitedly.

“What are we waiting for? Darla hooked us up; let’s go meet the gang,” Faith said as she put the car in reverse and backed out of the driveway and headed to Club Platinum, a dangerous party club on the outskirts of town.

“Who all is going?” Faith screamed over Metallica which was blasting from the radio.

“Darla, Dru, Lindsay, Lilah, and Parker,” Buffy shouted back.

“Nice,” Faith said, as she floored it, going at least 75 on a 55 mph highway.

Buffy smiled and thought, ‘Life can’t get any better than this.’

Police sirens weren’t heard over the music, but Buffy noticed the flashing red land blue lights out of her side mirror.

“Faith,” Buffy said as she turned down the music.

Faith then heard the sirens. “Oh fuck,” She said as she pulled over.

“Yeah, fuck,” Buffy agreed.

Chapter 7

Wednesday Morning

“Faith, you know what today is,” Joyce told her daughter as she was packing her backpack and getting ready to head out of the door.

“Yes mom, it’s Wednesday,” Faith commented mock cheerily as she zipped her backpack.

“Faith Summers, how many times do I have to remind you?” Joyce asked her sternly.

“Mom, I know. Tutoring today after school, Buffy and me are grounded from anything resembling having a life because of our speeding ticket, and I need to go to all of my classes. Did I cover it all?” Faith asked her.

“Almost. You will meet William outside of the school on the top of the steps, right outside of the main entrance exactly at 2:30. Is that clear?”

“Crystal,” Faith replied.

“Good, now go before you’re late,” Joyce ordered her.

“Wouldn’t want that, would we?” Faith asked, as she turned and headed to the door. Just then, Buffy bounced down the stairs.

“Bye mom,” Buffy waved before heading straight out of the front door. Faith followed, and pulled the door behind her.

“Can you believe I have to be tutored?” Faith asked her. “I still don’t even know who this guy is!”

“Well, you should’ve figured it out,” Buffy told her as they got into the jeep.

“You could’ve helped me,” Faith mumbled.

“It’s not me who needs tutoring sis,” Buffy shot back.

“Yeah, yeah, shut up,” Faith said as she started the car and headed toward the hell mouth, which was their nickname for school.

---

“William! Wait up!” A bright and cheery redhead called down the hallway, as she ran after him.

William turned around. “Hey Red! How are you?”

“I’m just fine, and yourself?”

“Nervous. I start tutoring today.”

“I was nervous when I first tutored,” the redhead, Willow, responded. Williow Rosenberg was the picked on school geek until William came along. She immediately befriended him, talking to him about history and English and such subjects. She was amazed that she finally found someone that loved school and knowledge as much as she did. Willow was the biggest sweetheart, but not a lot of people knew that since they never got past the thought of her as a nerd and the need to tease her. William and her though were quickly becoming great friends.

“Really?” William asked her.

“No, but it sounded good,” Willow smiled at him.

“What did? Right now I’m thinking a jelly doughnut does,” Xander Harris inputted when he walked in on the conversation of his two best friends. Xander and Willow have known each other since kindergarten, and both immediately took a liking to William, Xander mainly because he was ready to be friends with another male. That and he thought William was a genuinely nice guy.

“Nothing whelp, just talking about tutoring,” William told him.

“Aw, man! Couldn’t you guys talk about anything but school while we’re here? I mean it’s bad enough I have to be here. Why can’t you talk about comic books or doughnuts or something good?” Xander complained, before he got shoved into a locker. “OW!” He yelled as he rubbed his shoulder.

Looking back to see who shouldered him into the locker, he saw the Summers twins. His angry face immediately turned into a puppy dog look, “Ahh, Faith Summers, the girl of my dreams.”

“Xan, she just pushed you!” William cried, astonished that Xander could like a girl who treated him like that.

“Yup!” Xander smiled. “It just means she likes me! Besides man, if Buffy did that to you, you’d be following her asking her what it meant. Well, if you could get past your shyness that is.”

“Shut up mate,” William mumbled. He only knew Buffy from that one run-in with her, but since then he’s heard a lot about her from Willow and Xander. He had a crush on her, but he was still upset with the prank she pulled on him. He figured though, maybe that’s how they treat all new kids, so he was willing to look past it.

Willow frowned at her two best friends. ‘When will Xander ever look at me that way?’ She thought to herself. “Come on guys, they aren’t worth it. Let’s get to class.”

---

The final bell of the day rang, taking Faith out of a wonderful dream. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and wiped the drool off of the desk. Looking at the clock she saw that it was 2:20. Groaning, she grabbed her backpack and headed out of the classroom.

“Faith!” Her teacher called her, but she ignored it and continued heading into the hallway and the crowd of students rushing to go hang with their friends, or go home and relax.

“Hey B,” Faith approached her sister who was talking to Parker.

“Hey,” Buffy responded.

“What no ‘hey’ for me?” Parker asked with a smirk.

Faith punched him in the arm. “Hey punk.”

“Ow, damn girl, was that really necessary?” Parker whined.

Faith and Buffy smirked. “Well B, don’t have too much fun without me this afternoon. I have to go find my tutor dude and mom said I have to bring him to the house so I recommend you hang somewhere else.”

“Will do,” Buffy told her.

“Okay, later guys.”

“Bye,” Buffy and Parker called as Faith walked toward the main entrance.

“So babe, you need a place to go for a few hours. Want to go to my house?” Parker asked her.

Buffy looked into his eyes and smiled at the lust she saw there. “Love to.”

Parker grinned and put his arm around her waist as he led her to his car.

The Tables Are Always Turning

Chapter 7

Faith stepped outside of the school into the warm and sunny Californian day. Squinting her eyes as the sun shone into them, she twisted her backpack around to the front of her body, and unzipped the smallest compartment. She pulled out a sunglasses case, containing her Oakley’s, and put them on to shield her eyes from the strong sun’s rays. Putting her case back in her backpack and zipping it up, she scanned the crowd at the top of the steps with her, looking for someone she didn’t know that could possibly be William.

‘Loser, whore, Mike, Billy, Susan, nerdy geek, ooooh hottie,’ Faith judged each person as she saw them. Grinning when she saw the hottie, she made her way over to him; he was leaning against a pole next to a bench. She’s seen him around a few times, but for all she knew he could be William. Little did she know that the guy she classified as a nerdy geek was her tutor, and he was sitting down on the bench next to where the hottie was standing. Looking the hottie up and down, Faith smirked appreciatively. He was approximately a 6’ 2” African American, wearing loose dark blue jeans, Timberland boots, and a large Sean John t-shirt that was too large for him slim but fit frame.

“Hey gorgeous,” Faith said when she approached him. She wrapped her arms around his neck, clasping her hands together behind it.

Gunn smiled. He always has had a crush on the Summer’s twins. He wasn’t sure which one he liked more; he loved the strength and power they eluded. He just transferred from LA a few weeks ago, and was used to tough crowds, but didn’t get much of that in Sunnydale. He didn’t care which twin noticed him, he was just happy that one of them did. “Hey Faith,” He said in a husky but confident voice.

Faith gave him her sexiest and most seductive smile, and then brought her left leg up to snake around his waist. “What’s your name gorgeous?” She asked him coyly.

“Gunn,” He replied, grinning like a madman that she was giving him the time of the day.

“Gunn? I doubt that’s your birth name,” She responded.

“Is Faith yours?” He retorted.

“Yeah, it surprisingly is. I like you, you have spunk. But what’s your real name?” She asked him. “It’s not something like ‘trigger’ is it?”

Gunn let out a deep throat chuckle. “You’re funny. No it’s Charles. Charles Gunn,” He responded. “But no one calls me Charles besides my teachers and parents.”

“You’re not William?” She raised an eyebrow, and brought her leg down from his waist.

“No,” He said hesitantly. “Should I be?”

“Excuse me,” Someone taped Faith on the shoulder.

Faith turned around to come face to face with the nerdy geek. She looked him up and down from his Dockers boat shoes, to his khaki slacks, then to his white dress shirt and business man tie, and finally to his wire rimmed glasses perched on top of his nose. “There’s no excuse for you,” Faith told him in a disgusted voice.

“We-well, it’s j-just that I’m Wi-William,” William told her. “I wa-was sitting on the be-bench and heard you as-ask for me.” William cleared his throat and looked toward the ground, clearly embarrassed by his stuttering. He didn’t know who he was tutoring until he heard her ask for him. ‘Xander’s going to be so jealous. Why couldn’t have been Buffy?’ He thought to himself.

Faith ignored him and turned to Gunn. “How about we pretend you’re William and you go teach me at my house?” She asked, innuendo dripping in her voice.

“I’d love to,” Gunn replied.

“Ex-excuse me miss, but your mo-mother Joyce knows who I am and would rec-recognize this man as not be-being me,” William told her.

Faith turned back to him and rolled her eyes. Facing Gunn again she said, “Well, it seems like I have to go with nerdy tutor boy here. But I would love to go out with you. How does tomorrow after school sound?”

“Sounds like a long way away, but definitely worth the wait,” Gunn flirted with her.

“Okay, I’ll meet you here same time?”

“Sure,” Gunn grinned.

“Great sexy, here’s my cell number if you need to give me a call,” Faith winked at him, before fishing her hand into his front jeans pocket and grabbing a black felt tip pen out. She then wrote her number on the palm of his hand, and then kissed it.

“I might just have to do that,” He winked back at her.

Faith smiled at him before turned and pulling William along with her by his tie. She pulled him all the way down the steps and to the parking lot before releasing him.

William gulped in air and then rubbed his throat and readjusted his tie. He was about to speak when Faith beat him to it.

“So I know you live like a few houses down from me, so we might as well both drive home in our own cars and then meet at my house, got it?” Faith told him.

“I um, I wa-walk to school,” William told her, looking at his feet.

“Ugh fine, come on, I’ll drive you,” Faith told him, rolling her eyes and then walking to her jeep. William hurried to catch up with her, and got into the passenger seat as she got into the driver’s seat. “Don’t touch the stereo,” She ordered him, and didn’t say another word the rest of the way home. This sure was going to be the longest two hours of their lives.

---

“Here we are, home sweet home,” Faith said, as she pulled into the driveway of 1630 Revello Drive and pulled the key out of the ignition, then got out of the car, shutting the door behind her. She headed to the front door, and turned the knob since she knew her mom was home since it was her day off and that it would be unlocked. She stepped inside of the house, William following in behind her.

“Mom, we’re here!” Faith screamed at the top of her lungs throughout the house. William grimaced and thought to himself, ‘Apparently the music in her car wasn’t as loud as the noise got in her life.’

“Oh hello honey. How was your day?” Joyce asked her, as she walked out of the kitchen, wiping her hands in a dishtowel.

“Five by five,” Faith responded, as she started toward the stairs. “We’ll be in my room. Come on William.”

“Hello William,” Joyce greeted him before Faith could drag him away.

“Hello Ms. Summers. How are you today?” William politely greeted her.

“Just fine. I talked to your father earlier, and he said that he would be working late, so it’s okay for you to stay for dinner if you would like to,” Joyce offered him.

William hesitantly glanced at Faith, and saw her roll her eyes. “I’d love to,” He responded, knowing he couldn’t say no.

“But mom! That’s like four hours away! He’s only supposed to be here for two!” Faith whined.

“Well honey, you could always use the extra help. Now go on upstairs, you’re wasting valuable time,” Joyce ordered her, causing Faith to groan and stomp upstairs.

Joyce gave William a sympathetic smile as he followed Faith upstairs.

“That poor boy,” She muttered before shaking her head and heading back to the kitchen, “If only he knew what he got himself into.”

---

William followed Faith into her crazy and messy room. Faith dropped her backpack on her bed that was cluttered with dirty clothes and CDs (nothing changed in a year), and William copied her, doing the same.

“Okay, I’m going to go piss. Don’t touch anything,” Faith ordered him, as she made her way to the bathroom.

William gulped and nodded his head to her retreating form. Feeling very hot and uncomfortable, he reached up to his neck and loosened his tie. He had never been in a girl’s room before, except for Willow’s to watch movies, but she was his best friend. He glanced around the room, and saw a framed picture of Faith and Buffy together that must’ve been taken recently, both looking sexy dressed in all leather, with their arms wrapped around each other.

Deciding that it was safe to sit down on the bed, he pushed some CD’s out of his way, and sat down on the very edge. The weight of his body caused a shift in the bed, and one CD fell off of the edge and went under the bed. He got onto his hands and knees on the floor, and glanced under the bed. Not being able to see anything, he stuck his arm under the bed, hoping to come in contact with the CD case. He felt nothing besides what seemed to be a piece of paper. After feeling it a little more, he noticed that it felt like a picture. Figuring that it dropped off the bed with the CD as well, he pulled it out.

What he saw on the picture shocked him, and immediately made his heart beat rapidly, and his breath hitch in his throat. It was a picture of Buffy and Faith together, but by the looks of them they seemed to be just a hair younger, maybe a year or two. The weren’t close or touching at all, and didn’t look happy to be near each other, let alone in the same picture. Faith looked the same besides looking younger, but Buffy, Buffy is what made his heart speed up. It’s what made certain anatomy of his body uncomfortable. Buffy was wearing a short pink mini skirt and a white sweater, with white sandals. Her make-up was done natural and light, and her hair cascaded down her shoulders in shiny, bouncy, perfect curls. This look made her even more beautiful, and William didn’t think that was possible. This seemed to be the real Buffy and William wanted to know what happened to cause a change. That is, if he could ever get up the courage to talk to her and not have her be a bitch to him. He was willing to get to know this girl like she was now or like she was then. He just wanted to know Buffy, whoever that was.

“Where the hell did you get that?” Faith asked him in a very pissed off voice.

William gulped and jumped up. Faith was standing right over his shoulder, so she knew what picture he was looking at. “I uh, this fe-fell of-off your be-bed,” He stuttered, as he tried to explain what happened.

Faith rolled her eyes and snatched it hastily from his hand. “There is NO way that was on my bed,” She said in disgust. She look at the picture before drawing her nose up in distaste. She then ripped it up into four pieces and threw it in her trash can, which was surprising since glancing around her room it would seem like she didn’t know what a trash can was.

“Now I have to go get my Algebra book from the kitchen table downstairs so that we can get started with that. Seriously this time, don’t touch anything or you’ll pay the consequences,” Faith warned him before again exiting the room.

After he heard her feet pound down the stairs, he knew it was safe and he walked over to her trash can. Bending down, he fished out the four pieces of the picture, and put them into his pocked. He would most definitely tape this picture back together later, and keep it for himself.

Chapter 8

Buffy sat on the edge of Parker’s bed humming to herself as she glanced around the dull and bland room. She was waiting for him to come back from getting her a drink. Glancing around the plain white walls and the floor littered with condom wrappers, Buffy could do nothing but snort.

‘So Parker is a sex-addict,’ Buffy confirmed her thoughts, the evidence just lying around.

“Hey sexy. Miss me?” Parker asked Buffy, as he came back into the room, carrying two cokes.

“Of course!” Buffy flirted with him, showing him her pearly whites. She glanced down at the cokes in his hands, and noticed that one was bubbling more than the other.

Grinning widely Buffy said, “Put those cokes down baby, and come give me a kiss.”

Parker smiled, and sat the glasses down. When he did, Buffy took a mental note that the one on her left bubbled.

Buffy smirked as she laid back on the bed and Parker climbed up her body on all fours like a cat stalking after a mouse. He smashed his lips to hers, and she attacked back with just as much lust.

As quick as it started, Buffy broke it off. “What did you stop for?” Parker asked her.

“I’m thirsty now,” Buffy told him, abruptly pushing him over to her side and grabbing the drink on the right, while handing him the one of the left. “Here,” She smiled brightly and innocently, handing him the drink as well.

Parker just shook his head, trying to get parts of his body to calm themselves, and quickly downing his drink. “So, where were we?” He asked, moving toward Buffy as he set both of their glasses back on the counter.

“About to head to the bathroom,” Buffy innocently smiled at him before getting up and heading into the hall. “I’ll be back in a second!”

Parker flopped back onto the bed and screamed his frustration into the pillow. He made a bet with Angel that he could get Buffy to sleep with him. Not only that, but she has a hot body, and he figured that after her experience with Angel, she’s very experienced and can sure give him a good time.

Parker yawned and mumbled, “Wow, this pillow is really comfortable.”

10 minutes later, Buffy tip-toed back into the room, smirking when she saw Parker fast asleep.

“Wow,” she mumbled. “Faith was right about him; he does try to slip something to girls. I’m glad she informed me of that. Besides, I’m not making the same mistake I made with Angel.”

Believe it or not, contrary to popular belief, Buffy hasn’t slept with anyone since the horrible night with Angel. Of course, she led people to believe she did, and she made out with a different guy every chance she got, and she practically screwed her sister when they danced together at the Bronze, but she hasn’t gone any farther than that. Deep down, she was still the Buffy she used to be.

“Speaking of my better half, I wonder what she is up to and who the new tutor is,” Buffy thought out loud, as she picked up her purse, and began to make her way out of Parker’s house.

---

“You know, you’re really smart,” Faith complimented William. She was lying on her stomach on the bed, with a Chemistry book in front of her. William was sitting up on the edge of the bed on the opposite side of the book.

“Thank you,” William said, his stutter now gone. He wasn’t nervous with Faith anymore. He realized that she wasn’t going to kill him, and that she was probably a great link to her sister.

“You have really nice eyes,” Faith continued to compliment William, licking her lips while looking into his baby blue orbs.

William gulped. He did not expect Faith to come onto him.

Faith smiled, loving the effect she was having on him. She figured tormenting her tutor would relieve some of her stress.

“Th-thanks,” William said, suddenly nervous at the idea of Faith coming onto him. He liked her sister, not her.

Faith sat up and scooted extremely close to him, her thigh brushing his. William shot off the bed quickly, running his hands through his unruly blonde curls.

Faith’s smirk dropped of her face, and a frown marred her features. “You think I’m ugly!” She accused, obviously upset.

“No, it’s not that at all,” William assured her, looking anywhere but her.

“Then what is it?” Faith asked, raising an eyebrow. She really didn’t want anything to do with William sexually, she was interested in Gunn for that.

“IthinkIlikeyoursister,” William exhaled fast in one breath.

Faith’s smirk reappeared on her face before she burst out laughing.

“What’s so funny about that?” William asked.

Faith couldn’t stop laughing to catch her breath and answer.

“Stop laughing!” William yelled angrily.

Faith eventually sobered up, and glanced at William. “Sorry,” she said, her smirk still in place. “It’s just, a snowball has a better chance in hell than you do with my sister.”

William frowned for a moment, taking in that bit of information. Then locking eyes with Faith, he grinned.

“Why does that make you happy?” Faith asked, clearly confused.

“Because, in Montana there’s a city called Hell. It snows there all winter.”

Faith couldn’t help but grin as well. “Maybe you aren’t so bad after all blondie.”

William smiled. Having Faith on his side, he might have a fighting chance after all.

Chapter 9

Thursday morning in school William was on cloud nine when he arrived. Not only did Faith say that he ‘wasn’t so bad after all’, but at dinner both Hank and Joyce approved of the boy and immediately figured he’d be great for one of their daughters. The youngest, Dawn, also approved of him, even though he looked like a nerd. Unfortunately, Buffy came in after William had already left.

William couldn’t stop smiling. With one Summers twin on his side, how long would it be before he was in the good graces of the other?

“Hey Will! Wait up!” Xander called from behind William. Willow and Xander were running after him through the hall. They just arrived at school together, and were surprised that William wasn’t at their usual meeting spot in the courtyard, and he always gets there bright and early.

When William didn’t respond, Xander turned to Willow with an eyebrow raised in confusion. Willow just shrugged, and they ran faster to catch up to him.

Out of breath, Willow grabbed his arm, causing him to break out of his trance and turn to face them.

“What was with the non-answering of your name?” Xander asked him.

“And not meeting us this morning in the courtyard,” Willow piped up.

William shook his head at his own stupidity. “I’m sorry.”

“Sorry? That’s all you have to say for yourself?” Willow questioned.

“It’s just, I had this really good night last night, and I can’t get my mind off of it,” William told them.

“Does it involve the tutoree?” Xander asked.

William chuckled at Xander’s made up vocabulary. “Yup.”

“Oh, is he nice?” Willow asked.

“It’s a she,” William corrected her. “And she’s a little rough around the edges, but I don’t think she’s that bad of a person.”

“Would you stop beating around the bush and just tell us who she is?” Xander asked impatiently.

As if on cue, Buffy and Faith walked down the hall, causing people to get out of their way. Both had their hair down around their shoulders in ringlets. Buffy was wearing tight black jeans and a light blue thick strapped tank top, and Faith was wearing tight dark blue jeans with a red spaghetti strap tank top and a dark blue jean jacket overtop. They both had on heavy but gorgeous make-up, and as usual looked stunning.

Faith saw William out of the side of her eye, and walked up to him, leaving Buffy’s side. “Hey blondie, another tutoring session tomorrow right?”

William just nodded, not trusting his voice to respond without stuttering, since Buffy was standing a few feet behind Faith looking at him.

“Great, meet me at my car,” Faith told him, giving him an Oscar wining smile before turning back to continue walking with Buffy.

“Will, man, Faith Summers just talked to you,” Xander stated the obvious.

Willow was also shocked, Faith Summers not only talked to him, but was nice as well.

“Yup,” William grinned.

“Why does this happen to you? She’s my crush not yours!” Xander whined.

“Yes but her sister is mine,” William pointed out.

“True, and hey, maybe you can hook me up,” Xander commented happily. “So she’s your tutor huh?”

“Yes Xander, she really is,” William reassured Xander.

“I want all of last nights details,” Xander ordered. “Down to what she was wearing, what she smelled like, what her room was like, everything.”

They carried on walking to first period, neither of them noticing Willow slowly following behind them with a sad look on her face. Neither of the two guys could see how big of a crush Willow has on Xander. They became best friends in kindergarten, but she started liking him in 6th grade and she just can’t stop. Being the guy he is, he hasn’t noticed at all, and William hasn’t either.

As they stopped in front of their first period, Xander smiled and looked at William in awe and envy, “You are the luckiest man alive.”

---

“Faith, are you feeling alright?” Buffy asked, as she brought her hand up to feel her sister’s forhead as if she had a fever.

“Yeah why?” Faith asked. She had just walked back to Buffy’s side after talking to William.

“You just talked to the nerd!” Buffy stated the obvious.

“Buffy, he’s my tutor,” Faith told her.

Buffy’s jaw dropped. The guy she teased on the first day of school was her sister’s tutor. “You’ve got to be kidding me. Faith what are people going to say?”

“Look B, the guy isn’t that bad. Besides, people know better to mess with me,” Faith winked at her sister, before linking arms with her and walking to first period.

Buffy smiled. ‘Faith’s right, nobody will say anything. As long as she isn’t going crazy, all is good.’

Chapter 10

“Faith! Faith, wait up! Where are you going?” Buffy chased after her sister, as she saw her leaving her locker, the spot where they usually meet after school.

Faith turned when she heard her name being called. “What?”

Buffy stopped when she approached her now standing still sister. After catching her breath she responded, “What the hell is with you not waiting for me?”

“B! Don’t sweat it. You know I have to meet my tutor at the car and take him back to our place.”

“Faith, it’s Friday, or did you forget that?”

“I know. That’s why I’m going to meet him. Remember every Wednesday and Friday? So you might as well go find someone else to hang out with while William is over, cause you know mom doesn’t want you bugging us,” Faith told her.

“You know, you’re spending an awful lot of time with him. Is there something you’re not telling me?”

“Buff, it’s my second day with him. Besides, I’m five by five. I’ll see you later sis,” Faith grinned, before turning and walking toward the main entrance.

Buffy let out a frustrated sigh before turning to go find Drusilla and Darla, hoping they didn’t have any plans that she couldn’t be involved in.

“I can’t do this shit!” Faith exclaimed aggravated as she slammed her pencil down on top of the World History textbook. She was laying facing William on the floor with books, papers, pencils, and many other school supplies fluttered all around with them.

“Faith, it’s not that hard. Really!” William assured her. “You’re doing fine.”

“Why do I care about what’s going on in Japan? I don’t live there!”

“Because what’s going on there can affect you too,” William told her calmly, trying to keep his cool.

“Yeah, sure,” Faith mumbled.

William sighed. He’s been tutoring her on World History for an hour, and she hasn’t made any progress. William spoke up, deciding that changing the subject might ease her mind. “So, uh, Faith. When’s your sister get home?”

Faith raised her eyes to meet William’s, and she smirked. “You really have it bad for my sis, don’t you?”

“Ever since I laid my eyes on her,” William responded without hesitation. “Even if she was a bitch to me.”

“She wasn’t always like that,” Faith said softly, lowering her eyes, not wanting them to meet his.

William was surprised that it seemed to bother Faith. “Do you want to talk about it?”

That seemed to snap Faith out of her thoughts. No one ever saw her weak. “Nah, nothing to talk about,” She smiled. “I’m five by five.”

“Okay,” William just nodded.

“So anyway blondie, why my sister?” Faith asked.

“You’re interested?” William asked confused.

“Of course, you’re my friend, right?” Faith asked him. Truth was, Faith really did like William. He was the first person to treat her as more than just an intimidating slut.

“Yeah,” William said, still wondering where she was going with this.

“So I want to help you get her,” Faith told him.

William coughed, choking on the air. “You want to help someone like me?”

“Blondie, you really have to get over this questioning crap. We’re friends, and I’m going to help you. Understood?” She asked, looking him in the eye, daring him to say no.

“Yes ma’am,” William grinned, mock saluting her.

“Good,” Faith nodded. Tearing a piece of paper out of her notebook, she grabbed her black pen and began to write a list. “You have a decent amount of money right?”

“Enough,” William confirmed.

“Okay good,” Faith capped her pen and handed him the piece of paper. “This is what I want you to get, and I’ll get this rest. You can come over tomorrow around 1ish and we’ll go from there, okay?”

William looked at the list and gulped. ‘She wants me to do this! Well, I’m sure she knows more than I do about this.’

“Earth to blondie, is 1ish good?” Faith asked him, waving a hand in front of his face.

William gulped again. “Yes, but tomorrow’s Saturday and we aren’t supposed to have another session before Wednesday.”

“Tomorrow isn’t a tutoring session. It’s two friends hanging out. Besides, we can even consider it me tutoring you if you’d like. So are you in or out? Because I sure as hell can find other ways to spend my Saturdays.”

William was not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Grinning like a madman he tore his eyes off the list and looked at Faith. “I’m in.”

Chapter 11

William knocked on the Summers’ door at 12:45 Saturday afternoon. He knew that he was 15 minutes early from the 1:00 meeting time, but he had an idea in his head of what Faith was planning, and knew that if he didn’t come now, he would’ve lost his nerve. Shifting his weight from foot to foot and the plastic drug store back from hand to hand, William waited for someone to come to the door.

The door opened revealing the blonde beauty of his dreams. She was wearing an emerald halter-top that brings out her eyes and dark blue jeans. Her hair was straightened down with the sides pulled back. She still had on heavy makeup, but William still thought she is the most beautiful think he’s ever seen.

“Sorry, no soliciting. Read the sign on the house,” Buffy told him, pointing to the sign next to the door. Rolling her eyes, she turned around, ready to shut the door in his face.

Shaking his head out of his thoughts about Buffy, William spoke up. “No, uh, ac-actually, I’m here to hang out with Faith.”

Buffy turned around with a grin on her face. “You and Faith? You’ve got to be kidding me! Nice try loser.”

Buffy was about to turn around again until she felt an arm around her shoulders.

“Nah, he’s telling the truth B. He’s here to chill with me this afternoon,” Faith told her, smiling at William.

William smiled back before blushing and looking at the ground. He knew that he wasn’t good enough to be blessed with the presence of Buffy, and he figured that’s why she’s so mean to him.

“You must have a fever Faith-y. But whatever, I’m out of here,” Buffy told her, grabbing her purse and pushing by Faith and William to start the short walk to Drusilla’s house, without sparing them another glance.

Faith shook her head, “Silly girl. Come on in William.”

William tore his eyes off the ground to look at her. “Thank you,” he thanked her, as he made his way into the house.

Faith shut the door behind her. “Come on, we can use my room.”

“Faith, what exactly are we doing?” William asked her, when they got to their room.

Faith ignored the question, and grabbed the bag from his hands, dumping its contents out on her bed. “It’s all here!” She exclaimed, grinning at him. She then made her way to her closet, and grabbed a duffel bag. Taking out the clothes and shoes in the duffel back, she sat them on the bed as well.

William gulped, “Please tell me I’m not supposed to wear that.”

“Yup.”

“But I won’t fit.”

“Yes you will.”

“No I won’t.”

“Yes you will.”

“My mum is going to kill me!”

“Don’t worry mama’s boy. The girl’s will be all over you like flies on honey, so you really won’t care.”

“Will one girl in particular-,”

“Buffy too,” Faith interrupted him, answering the question he was about to ask.

“Well then what are we waiting for?” He asked, rubbing his hands together. “Let’s get started!”

Faith grabbed the peroxide off of the bed. “First things first. This blondish brown curly crap, it’s gotta go.”

William ran a hand through his unruly curls. “But-.”

“No buts. Come on,” Faith grabbed his hand, pulling him along behind her to the bathroom.

---

30 minutes later William was sitting in a chair in the bathroom looking at himself in the mirror. Faith had done a nice job of cutting his hair, using the gel he bought at the drugstore to spike it up, and bleaching it bleach blonde.

“Faith, how did you manage to cut my hair and dye it so nicely?” William asked her.

“Simple, I want to be a beautician. But I don’t think I want to go to beauty school, so it probably won’t happen,” Faith admitted.

“Faith you can do anything you set your mind to,” William assured her, catching her eyes through the mirror.

“Drop it blondie,” Faith told him in a warning tone.

“Fine. But how come it didn’t hurt when you bleached my hair? I always heard that it hurt,” William asked her.

“Simple, sweet and low. Add a little bit and it takes most of the sting right out,” Faith told him.

“Thanks,” He smiled at her.

“No problem. Now about these glasses,” Faith said, playing with the glasses on top of his nose.

“Oh god,” William groaned. “Here we go again.”

Chapter 12

William stared into the full-length mirror, examining his new appearance. He was running his hands over his short, gelled-up, spiked platinum blonde hair, and taking in the cerulean blue his eyes were, now that his long hair or glasses didn’t shield them. Faith was saying something in the background, but he wasn’t paying any attention. He had to admit that he looked good. The only thing he didn’t like, was the fact that he could pass as a member from some punk band like the Sex Pistols.

“Blondie!” Faith yelled, hitting him upside the back of the head.

“Ow! What was that for?” William asked her, turning around to look at her, while rubbing the sore spot on the back of his head.

“Pay attention when I’m talking to you,” Faith glared at him.

“Sorry, it’s just, look at me!” He told her, pointing to himself.

“Yeah, you look hot. If I wasn’t so into Gunn, I probably would be screwing your brains out right now,” Faith told him.

William just gave her a look. “Okay, okay, and if you liked me instead of Buffy,” She added.

“Faith, I don’t get it. Why do I have to change who I am for some girl?” William asked her.

“Is she just some girl to you?” Faith asked back.

“No,” He sighed in defeat. “She’s my bloody world, and I hardly even know her.”

Faith just smiled. “This is going to be a tough egg to crack, but when you get her, I think you’ll be rewarded.”

“If I get her,” He emphasized.

“No, when. You have me on your side. You won’t lose,” Faith smirked.

William chuckled. “So what’s the plan Dr. Phil?”

“Very funny,” Faith playfully slapped him on the arm. “So anyway William the plan is- wait a minute, back up.”

William took a step back.

“No not literally!” Faith told him, shaking her head. “It’s just, William. Will-iam. Will-yum. Ew, no. You need a new name.”

William looked at her shocked, with his jaw dropping to the floor. “I changed my look, and now you want me to change my bloody name! I don’t think so!”

“William fit the old look,” Faith explained calmly. “You need a name that fits this look.”

“What? Like Sid Vicious?” William asked jokingly.

“Yeah,” Faith replied seriously. “Except not, because that’s already taken.”

“How about Sparky?” William grumbled, rolling his eyes. ‘I really do love this girl to go through all this.’

“Ha, okay!” Faith said.

“NO!” William exclaimed. “That one was a joke.”

“Okay, so keep thinking,” Faith ordered him.

They both had pensive looks on their faces. Faith was eyeing him up and down before she turned to look at his hair. “I got it,” She said after a few minutes of thought,.

“Really?” William asked her.

“Yeah,” She replied. “Say goodbye to William, and hello to Spike.”

“Spike,” He grinned. “I like it.”

Faith smiled. “Ah, I did such a good job.”

Spike turned around and looked once more in the mirror. From his short platinum blonde hair, down to his skin tight black t-shirt, skin tight black jeans, black Doc Martin boots, and black leather duster, he had to admit, he looked sexy. “Just one problem pet.”

“What?”

“I can hardly breathe!” He whined. “I don’t know how you girls do it.”

“Oh don’t be such a baby,” Faith grinned. “So Spike, what do you want to do tonight? Meet Buffy, or wait for another night?”

Spike continued to stare at himself in the mirror.

“Spike!” Faith called him. “SPIKE!”

Spike still didn’t pay any attention.

“WILLIAM!” Faith shrieked, causing him to turn around.

Faith let out a frustrated scream. “You have to stop answering to William, and start answering to Spike damnit!”

Spike looked sheepish. “I’m sorry. I’ve been Spike for all of five minutes. Give a bloke some time to get used to it.”

Faith rolled her eyes. “Fine. Now it’s time for the test to see if you are as hot as I think you are.”

“And what is that test?” Spike inquired, raising an eyebrow.

“DAWN!” Faith screamed.

“What is it?” Dawn ran in, a few seconds later. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing. Just look,” Faith said, pointing to Spike.

Dawn’s jaw dropped straight to the ground. “Fa-faith,” She stuttered. “Who’s the hottie?”

Faith grinned. “Well blondie, you passed the test. Now it’s time for the final exam.”

“Buffy?” Spike asked.

“Yup. Meet me here tonight at 8. We’ll head over to the club in my car. Everyone’s always there on Saturday night. You up for it?” Faith asked.

“Ready as I’ll ever be,” Spike replied. ‘I just hope that I’m as confident when I see her as I am now.’

“Good. Tonight at 8 it is then,” Faith told him.

“Yes luv. See you then,” Spike told her, as he made his way out of her room, and out of the house.

Dawn found her voice after she heard the front door close. “Damn Faith. Who was that?”

“William. But he goes by Spike now,” Faith informed her.

“That thing was William?” Dawn asked.

“Yup.”

“Wow,” Dawn said breathless. “I think I’m in love.”

Faith laughed. “Yeah, except he’s after our sister.”

Dawn pouted. “How come she gets the goodies?”

“Because Spike is head over heels in love.”
