Buffy and the rest of the gang (including Spike who is now one of the Scoobies) all decided to go to the public swimming pool at night.

They had had a long few days and they were having a night off. Buffy sat on the side of the pool her feet dangling in the water. She had been back for three months and now her life was finally getting back to normal.

<Damn Spike for letting her see his nice body. He had definitely changed a lot since I came back. How come I’ve never noticed how gorgeous he was?>

Xander and Anya were making out under the water and made Buffy laugh,

“Get a room guys.”

Spike heard this and roared with laughter.

Buffy watched Tara and Willow as they floated on the water in their inflatable chairs.

<They look so happy and in love. Why can’t I have that? With Spike. What the hell am I thinking, with Spike, I don’t like Spike, let alone want him>

She was so involved in her thought that she didn’t see Spike swim up to her and grab her ankles. Buffy let out a yelp as Spike pulled her down into the water.

Xander laughed as Buffy came up spluttering for air. She looked at Spike and glared evilly,

“I’m gonna get you for that.”

Spike pretended to shake with fear,

“Oh no.”

Buffy smiled and jumped onto Spike and they both fell back into the water and lay there watching each other,

<I do want him! I do like him, I do love him.>

Buffy suddenly found herself smiling at the thought. She lent down and kissed Spike under the water. His eyes bulged out of his head and he kissed her back.

They kissed until Buffy tore away seeking air. She laughed as they came out of the water and Spike followed and grinned back at her. Without any thought except how great he looked and hoe great he was Buffy pounced on his again and kissed him hungrily,

“I. LOVE. YOU. SPIKE.”

She said in between kisses and Spike smiled and kissed her again,

“I love you too Buffy.”

The whole gang watched them and smiled, they were glad the two of them had finally gotten their act together and gotten together.

They all laughed as Buffy looked at them embarrassed,

“I love him.”

They all nodded,

“We knew that long time ago.”

Buffy was glad that her friends were fine with her and Spike being a couple. She kissed Spike again and they fell back into the water for whatever privacy they could get.
