Friday night 9:00 p.m. The other side if Sunnydale.

A family walked happily down the street looking at all the houses, they were moving here soon so they were house hunting. The mother father and daughter walked smiling at the pretty neighborhood they were moving into. Suddenly two human like creatures with long fangs, yellow eyes and bumpy faces. They snarled and each of them latched onto the two parents. The parents screamed in terror and threw their arms around wildly but to no avail. Soon both the mother and the father fell to the ground completely drained. The little girl screamed and ran away,

“The little pretty one is getting away and you know we don’t leave witnesses.”

The brunette answered while swirling around in a circle,

“The stars tell me that we will find her again and that she will bring us a surprise. Oh what a lovely mess we’ve made.”

The blonde one shrugged, she never really understood her insane friend.

Saturday night, 8:00 p.m. The cemetery

Willow had hated how withdrawn her friend had been since she was brought back, and she had had enough. She was doing a spell to return Buffy to her formal happy self.

Spike watched Buffy walk through the cemetery and ran his fingers through his short blonde hair,

‘Why did she have to be so difficult?’

He though to himself, she had given herself to him and had pretended that it didn’t mean anything and he was sick of being her little lapdog and he wasn’t taking it anymore. He loved her with all his undead heart and would not rest until she admitted to having feelings for him too.

Buffy knew Spike was there, she felt him. Not because he was a vampire, but because he was Spike, an friend, a partner. She had made a mistake and she had destroyed the friendship that they had struggled to make over the years. She wished it had never happened and that she could just go back to hating him again. But she couldn’t, not now, not ever. She hated hurting him like this but it was for his own good, they would be lovers and end up hating each other again and then he would leave her. They all left her, and no matter what he says, he will leave her too.

Willow chanted softly and sprinkled special salts around her in a circle,

“Bring back the fire,

Which is now lost,

To be happy,

No matter what the cost.”

A green mist circled above Willow’s head and she smiled,

“Now Buffy would be back.”

Buffy was sick of being stalked like this so she turned to come face to face with Spike,

“Spike, what are you doing here,

stalking me like a deer.”

Spike shrugged,

“I’m watching your back bitch,

and if you don’t like it, talk to the witch.”

Buffy looked at Spike carefully,

“Why are we speaking in rhyme,

do you think it’s Willow this time?”

Spike shrugged,

“It’s worth a try to see,

so if you want to, come with me.”

Buffy put her hands on her hips and glared at him,

“Go with you?

I don’t think so, so go on, shoo.”

Spike laughed and shook his head,

“No way Slayer, you’re stuck with me,

and does it look like I’m shouting with glee?”

Buffy shook her head and stomped away leaving Spike to trail after her,

“Wait up Buffy,

don’t be in a huffy.”

Buffy carried on walking but shouted over her shoulder,

“Just walk Spike,

or go the other way and take a hike.”

Spike smiled evilly,

‘this was going to be fun’

Saturday, 9:00 p.m. The Magic Box

Giles stood listening to Willow’s tale of how she did the spell and something had gone wrong, making them all speak poetry,

“I’m sorry Giles, please don’t be mad,

I’m sure this spell won’t be so bad”

Giles shook his head,

“Willow you’ve gone too far,

Why can’t you and Buffy stay as you are?”

Willow bowed her head but was startled when Buffy and Spike stormed into the Magic Box,

“Willow what’s going on here?

Why do we speak like Shakespeare?’

Willow shook her head,

“My spell went wrong again,

and I’m sorry if I’ve caused you pain.”

Buffy sighed and smiled,

“It’s okay Wills, it’s not your fault,

Just tell me that you know how to make this halt.”

Willow shrugged,

“I don’t know what I did wrong,

but I’ll fix this before long.”

Spike smiled at Willow,

“Cool spell this time,

at least I know how to rhyme.”

Willow smiled at Spike, who had been extra nice lately,

“I know it’s nice,

but now people will have an excuse to be like mice.”

She shook her head at her words,

“I can’t rhyme,

so lets get busy because now’s the time.”

They all sat down and began looking through various spell books but they found nothing,

“What the hell is going on here,

I speak in rhyme I fear.”

Said Xander as he ran into the shop with Anya in tow,

“Yes, we were having sex,

and then this started, it this some kind of hex?”

Willow looked around sheepishly,

“I’m afraid my spell did not work,

we can be poets now, ain’t that a perk?”

Xander shook his head,

“I told you to be careful Will,

and next time Willow I shall kill.”

Spike laughed and got a heated glance from Xander,

“What are you doing here evil dead,

you better get out or you’ll loose your head.”

Buffy looked at Xander,

“Xander, he’s here to help,

and I promise he won’t call you a whelp.”

Spike laughed and Dawn ran inside,

“My friends think that I’m insane,

you better fix this or I’ll use my cane.”

She ran and hugged Spike,

“Hey Spike, how are you,

glad to see you’re with the crew.”

Spike smiled,

“Thank-you Niblit, it means a lot,

a lot of work we have got.”

Spike shrugged and Dawn laughed at him,

“Sorry Dawn my mistake,

but tell your friends just to jump in a lake.”

Dawn smiled at Willow, whom she had always liked,

“’S okay Willow, I understand,

I just hope my rhyming isn’t bland.”

They all laughed as they all spoke making absolutely no sense what so ever, Willow looked at the spell that she had done earlier and couldn’t understand what had gone wrong. Had she said it properly? Had she used the wrong kind of salts? No she had done everything exactly.

“Maybe Tara can help us out,

if only I wasn’t a stupid lout.”

Buffy held her best friends hand as Willow got up to go and find Tara,

“We’ll be okay,

Tara will be able to help hey?”

Willow nodded and left the store in search of Tara whom knew a lot more about spells than her.

Buffy looked over at Spike who was reading a book with much interest,

Buffy saw the title:

The watcher diaries, William the bloody.

Spike scoffed and pointed at the book to show Buffy,

“These bloody watchers have it all wrong,

I wasn’t like this, not for this long.”

Spike shook his head and Buffy stared at him,

“Well you were evil that we know,

but I think that sometimes you could be that low.”

Spike looked insulted,

“No bloody way would I do that,

I would never hurt a little cat.”

Buffy started to laugh at his statement, William the bloody, scourge of Europe, not wanting to hurt a poor kitty cat, shame.

Spike read more and Buffy read over his shoulder,

“When did you do this?

Did you really save a young miss?”

Spike looked away at her,

“No I tried to kill her but she was too fast,

Young children were a blast.”

Buffy knew that he was lying, he couldn’t look her in the eyes,

“I think you did, you were soft even back then,

but you did kill a lot of men.”

Spike looked at her and his face turned hard,

“I am not soft like you say,

I have the chip that’s all there is too say.”

Spike got up and left the shop and stomped out in a pissed off way,

‘How dare she say that he is soft? He’s not soft, he’s the big bad.’

Saturday 10:00 p.m. Spike’s crypt

He walked along the dark road and sauntered slowly into the cemetery, his crypt door was open and he smelt a human inside.

He walked in slowly and looked around the dark crypt,

He could smell fear, he looked around and saw something move out the corner of his eye and he grabbed it,

“Who the hell are you,

so run away, Boo!”

He saw a little girl about 7 years old crying and looking up at him with petrified eyes,

“Please don’t hurt me.”

Spike softened at her voice and he let go of her,

“I’m not gonna hurt you little one,

I’m just cranky some.

Where are your parents, and what is your name,

Did you get lost or are you just playing a game?”

The little girl smiled at him,

“My parents are dead, they were killed by a monster with sharp teeth and he looked like a man, my name is Veronica.”

Spike smiled at her,

“When did they die sweet one,

and why do you have that gun?”

He asked staring down at the gun in her hand.

“It was my Daddy’s, and they died last night and I’ve been running ever since. Please help me.”

Spike smiled and hugged the little girl with raven black hair and crystal blue eyes,

“I’ll protect you.

So what am I too do?”

The little girl made him think of Dawn, even thought they looked nothing alike.

They little girl smiled at him sweetly,

“Where am I to go? Please tell me.”

Spike saw how hungry and cold she was,

“Well you can stay here for tonight,

but we will find you another place once it is light.”

The little girl hugged Spike and sobbed into his shoulder,

“Thank-you so much.”

Saturday 12:00 p.m. Spike’s crypt

Buffy walked to Spike’s crypt in order to apologize for calling him soft but was surprised to see him walk into his crypt with a bag of groceries,

“Hey Spike, what’s inside,

I bet you have something to hide.”

Spike tried to walk past her but she grabbed at his bag and opened it to look inside,

“Well cookies, soda and meat,

food for a human, neat.”

Spike grabbed the bag and ran inside his crypt and slammed the door but Buffy was soon following,

“Hey Sp…”

She stopped when she heard voices and laughter so she listened more closely,

“Here we go luv, just for you,

I hope you like them as much as I do.”

Buffy heard giggling and was disgusted to think that Spike had told Buffy how much he loved her and now he had another woman in his crypt? He was unbelievable.

She didn’t want to ruin their wonderful evening so she’d speak to him in the morning.

Saturday, 01:00 a.m. Buffy’s house

Buffy’s dreams were filled of Spike and another woman and she felt her blood boil, how could he do this to her? To her? What was she talking about, she should be happy that Spike had finally gotten over his obsession with her. Then why wasn’t she?

Sunday 10:00 a.m. Spike’s crypt

Buffy got to Spike’s crypt and pushed open the door only to find Spike, shirtless and cooking bacon and eggs. ‘Obviously she hadn’t left yet.’

Buffy watched from behind a pillar as a little girl got up off the couch and sniffed the air,

“Spike?”

She asked sleepily.

“Yeah.”

She walked over to him and smelt the food,

“Spike, you’re the best. My mommy and Daddy would be happy that I found someone like you.”

Buffy was appalled, Spike was with what looked like a seven year old girl and she was happy with him. It made Buffy sick to the stomach.

“Spike?”

Buffy asked as she stormed into the room,

Spike turned to see Buffy,

“What do you want Slayer,

trying to peel off another layer?”

Buffy punched him and the little girl began to cry,

“Don’t hurt Spike, he’s the only one I have left in this world.”

Buffy turned to see the little girl in tears and Spike rushed to her side and cradled her like a baby,

“Don’t worry luv,

Buffy’s as harmless as a dove.”

The little girl wiped her tears,

“You aren’t gonna leave me too are you Spike? Not like my Mommy and Daddy left me?’

Spike kissed the top of her head,

‘I’ll always be here little one,

as long as I have my little thumb.”

Spike glared up at Buffy,

“I need to speak to you please, and I’m not begging on my knees.”

Spike let go of the girl who sat down to eat her breakfast,

“What the hell is your problem,

and why are you here,

The little girl is homeless

And sheds a lot of tears.

I’m so sick of rhyming,

It’s ruining my timing,

So go annoy someone else.”

Buffy stood staring at her,

“Why is the girl there,

and what has caused a scare?”

Spike sighed,

“The little girl’s parents were killed by a vampire,

She’s got no where to go.

I offered her a place to sleep,

So?”

Buffy smiled at him evilly,

“You like the little girl,

she is cute.

But why do you let her stay here,

She must be a real hoot.”

Spike glared at her,

“I felt sorry for her,

she is lost, I’ll look after her,

no matter the cost.”

Buffy smiled at Spike,

“You are a good man Spike,

A man that I could like.

A monster you are not,

And you are very hot.”

Spike smiled at her wickedly,

“I’m hot?

I thought that I was not.”

Buffy stepped closer and looked up into his icy blue eyes

“I was wrong,

and I’m wearing a thong.”

Spike’s eyes widened and he laughed.

“A thong?

Give me a quick look, I won’t be long.”

Buffy started to laugh,

“No way Spike,

Take a hike.”

Suddenly the little girl arrived,

“Please don’t hurt Spike.”

Buffy shook her head,

“I won’t hurt him,

he’s my friend,

we only play fight

and now it’s the end.”

The little girl smiled,

“I’m glad and you’re just like Spike, always rhyming.”

Spike smiled happily,

“God I hate this rhyming shit,

When is Willow fixing this the stupid chit.”

Buffy punched his arm playfully,

“She’s trying her best,

she’s also studying for a test.”

Spike looked surprised,

“She’s studying for a test right now,

she must fix the spell the stupid cow.”

Buffy shook her head,

“It’s a important test and she had to pass,

so stop being a whining ass.”

Veronica started to laugh,

“You two fight like a married couple.”

Spike and Buffy both stared at Veronica, who giggled like crazy,

“What you do.”

Buffy and Spike both laughed and sat down to find out exactly what happened to her parents.

Sunday, 7:00 p.m. The Magic Box

“Are you sure that the one was insane?

And that the other blonde one was very vain?”

Veronica nodded,

“She spoke about the stars and someone named Miss Edith Baxter.”

Spike, Buffy and Veronica walked into the shop and looked around to find everyone sitting around. Dawn smiled and hugged Spike while looking curiously at Veronica.

Xander saw them and grimaced,

“Spike did you have to bring your lunch with you,

don’t be friends with him little girl whatever you do.”

Veronica eyed Xander curiously,

“What do you mean?”

Xander made a horrible face at Spike,

“Because he’s an evil vampire who wants to eat you,

run away, just don’t sue.”

Veronica looked at Spike and burst into tears,

“You said you’d look after me! Now I find out that you’re a vampire like the ones that killed my mommy and daddy? How could you?”

Veronica ran out of the shop in tears and Spike looked at Xander with the look of death in his eyes. In a flash Spike was on top of Xander holding his throat,

“Do you have any idea what you’ve just done,

you’ve just killed that little girl,

Darla and Dru are after her and she will be killed,

Just because you think hurting me is a twirl.”

Xander stared at him frightened out of his wits,

“If you weren’t a friend of Buffy and the gangs you would be dead,

I would use my own hands to rip off your head.”

Spike growled and Buffy touched his arm lightly,

“We should find her before it’s too late,

whether she survives or not is up to fate.”

Spike let go of Xander and left the shop just in time to see Buffy give Xander a look of ‘If anything happens to her I’ll…’ before she left too.

Sunday 9:00 p.m. The cemetery.

Spike and Buffy wondered around the cemetery and everywhere in between looking for Veronica who was no where to be seen. Spike sighed,

“Why does Xander have to be such a ponce,

I’d like to kill him once.”

Buffy gave him a look and he sighed again,

“I’m sorry I’m just worried,

I wish we could have hurried.”

Buffy took his hand and smiled at him,

“We’ll find her,

that’s for sure.”

Spike squeezed her hand and they carried on looking for the little lost girl.

They heard a small cry from just around the corner and ran to it to see Darla and Drusilla holding the little girl tightly. Veronica struggled and punched trying to get away.

“Hey Dru,

let the girl go will you?”

Dru giggled,

“I told you the girl would give us a present, why should we let her go Spike? Oh I came back for you Spike, I need my big bad to look after me.”

Darla attacked Buffy from behind and they struggled to the floor punching and kicking with all their might.

“Let her go Dru,

You know I love you.”

When Buffy heard this her heart sank, ‘Spike had finally got his darling Dru back and she was forgotten. How could he?’

Dru smiled and let Veronica go and Dru ran into her lovers arms, but she got a surprise because he held her in an awkward position as if getting ready to be staked. Spike kissed her head and looked to Buffy who had Darla held down,

“Goodbye Dru,

I’ll always love you.”

Spike staked Dru and she burst into a large pile of dust and he felt sad for a moment, but all was forgotten when Veronica fled into his arms,

“Thank-you Spike, I’m sorry that I ever doubted you.”

Spike kissed her head lightly and was shocked when a arrow flew into his chest and he wretched in pain,

“Buffy help me,

can’t you see?”

Veronica stared down at Spike slumped onto the floor and began to scream and this caught Buffy’s attention,

“Spike?”

Spike sat up and Buffy sighed in relief,

“Spike you’re okay,

this is my day.”

Spike stood up but was thrown to the floor by a black stranger who Buffy attacked after she quickly staked Darla.

Buffy pulled the black figure off of Spike and punched its face, she gasped when she saw whom she had punched,

“Angel? Why are you here?

And why have you attacked Spike with a spear?”

Angel looked down at Buffy who now sat by Spike’s side and gently pulled the arrow out,

“Why? Because he was about to feed on that little girl.”

He said pointing to the little girl who stood to the side while she let Buffy work,

“He was helping her you jackass,

and we killed Dru and Darla but

why did you hurt him?

He’s good now you mutt.”

Angel stared down at Spike whom laughed,

“You never heard huh peaches,

I got a chip from the initiative,

Which enables me to feed like leaches.”

Angel gaped,

“You help Buffy?”

Buffy nodded,

“No duh soul boy,

and stop treating Spike like a toy.”

Spike laughed and Buffy gave him that look,

“Sorry luv, you sound like me,

you’ve been spending too much time with me you see.”

Buffy giggled and Angel looked confused,

“Why are you rhyming everything you say?”

Spike smiled,

“Will did a spell and it went wrong,

she’s fixing it and said that it wouldn’t be long.”

Angel nodded and looked at Buffy,

“You and Spike are friends?”

Buffy nodded,

“He’s been great,

he’s helped me patrol and been my friend and

listened to my problems and has never been late.”

Angel nodded and the three of them stood up and the little girl latched onto Spike,

“This is Veronica Angelus,

she has no parents Dru and Darla killed them,

she’s my house guest you wuss.”

Spike shrugged and Angel smiled at the little girl,

“You’ve really changed you know that Spike?”

Spike nodded and smiled at Buffy,

“It’s all Buffy’s fault,

she brought my evilness to a halt.”

Angel looked confused,

“What did Buffy have to do with it?”

Spike shifted and looked into Angel’s eyes,

“Because I love her mate,

no feeling I have for her are of hate.”

Angel couldn’t believe it but he knew Spike told the truth because he could see the look in his eyes when he spoke.

Buffy smiled at Spike and Angel saw the look, the look of love and trust.

Angel looked at Buffy and he nodded giving her full consent to what she was about to do,

“Veronica why don’t you go with Angel,

he’s really an angel.”

Buffy shrugged and the two walked off leaving Buffy and Spike alone together,

“Spike you have been wonderful the past few weeks,

and a true love someone seeks,

well I found that person right here,

I love him because he is a dear.”

Spike’s face changed to one of sorrow,

“It’s Angel I’ve always known,

I always knew you loved that drone.”

Buffy shook her head,

“What you say is true, I always love him,

but it’s not him whose heart I want to win.”

She smiled and kissed Spike on the lips gently,

“I love you Spike always have,

please be with me?”

Spike answered with a deep kiss and he spoke soft and true,

“I love you Buffy Ann Summers.”

She smiled up at him,

“The spell is broken no more rhymes.”

Spike nodded as the two walked side by side and hand in hand down to their next destination.

Three years later…

Buffy and Spike are still together and Veronica was adopted by Spike and Buffy soon after they were married and they all lived in Buffy’s old house with Dawn.

Angel was still around yet he was with Cordelia and the two were engaged to be married in 3 months. Willow and Tara stayed together and Xander and Anya were married not so long ago. Giles went back to England to live happily with his new girlfriend and his new job and they all lived happily ever after.

The end.
