Chapter 9

A loud knock on the door woke Buffy from her sleep. She brushed the hair from her face with a shaky hand, and quickly headed to the door

"Who is it?" she asked standing behind the closed door.

"It's Spike,"

"Xander's not here," Buffy bit her lip and hoped he would leave.

"I know that pet, I came to see you." Spike said softly.

She could imagine him standing there, staring at door with those silly puppy eyes of his. She had seen him using that look for like a million times, when he wanted something…or someone… that look almost made it impossible to refuse.

"It's the middle of the night Spike. Can we just do it some other time?" She tried

"C'mon Summers," Spike answered less patiently

"Damn," Buffy mumbled and opened the door

Spike studied her appearance for a moment, before speaking.

"I just wanted to ask you a question," he said gazing at her face. She’d just woke up from sleeping and she looked like a million bucks

"What is it?" Buffy crossed her arms and glared at him. He looks tired and kinda strange, what's going through that mind of yours now Spike?

Spike paused, he felt like he was about to do the hardest thing he ever done in his life.

"There's a new place…I wanted to check out…. and I thought that maybe… you would want to come with me tomorrow night" Spike looked up at her hopeful

"Are you- are you asking me on a date?' Buffy blinked, can't believe what she was hearing

"I figured since we seem to do everything backwards, it would be a good idea to get it out of the way," Spike smiled slightly, looking a little embarrassed

"A date?"

"Are you gonna repeat it all night, or are you answer the bloody question?" Spike’s tone got harsh again. God this is impossible he thought.

Buffy tilted her head to the side and looked at him suspiciously

"Did you break up with Harmony?" she asked coldly

Spike swallowed hard, remembering the events, which had happened earlier that evening.

"Yes," he said between grated teeth

"Then…umm…okay," Buffy gazed at the floor, sounding not so sure of herself

"Alright," Spike took a step back. "I'll call before I'll come to pick you up,"

Not making a move, both glared at each other as they stood near the doorway.

"Goodnight Spike," Buffy smiled awkwardly and closed the door slowly.

"Night," Spike said and turned to leave, letting out a heavy sigh.

Buffy leaned on the closed door and did the same.

"Do they know?" Tara sipped her drink as she gazed at Willow, sitting in front of her.

"No. not really," Willow mumbled and smiled, pleased she could finally relax on a Friday night, instead of working.

"Are you ashamed or-"

"No, no…it's not like that at all…it's just….look at Xander," she pointed at her friend/boss near the counter "He’s so self involved that you can French kiss me right here and now and he wouldn't even notice,"

"I might try that," Tara said and watched Willow blushing.

"And what about his girlfriend…what's her name?" Tara gazed at the blonde who was talking to Xander

"Anya…" Willow said, "We aren't that close, but knowing her she'd probably offer a foursome,"

Tara laughed at that "I'm not into that," she added

"Good to know," Willow smiled at her

"A-and Buffy?"

Willow’s eyes widened, thinking of her friend "You won't believe this," she leaned on the table so she could talked to her confidently

"She on a date…" she emphasized each word "With Spike,"

Tara looked at her for a moment and then giggled

"Well it's about time,"

"I hope it's going well," Willow said worried

"Sweetie…I've known Buffy almost a day and I can already tell you, Spike's got his work cut out for him,"

"Yeah…I know what you mean," Willow sighed and took a sip from her drink.

Spike opened the door to the restaurant and raised a brow, when Buffy just stood at the entrance and stared at him.

"What?" he asked defensively

"You're freaking me out," Buffy sent him a sharp glare before entering.

"Don't get your knickers in a twist!" Spike spat from behind her as they walked together.

"You showed up on time," Buffy scanned the room and continued walking "You compliment my dress, you open doors for me…and you expect me not to be all skittish," Buffy almost tripped when she noticed how beautiful the rest of the place was.

"I'm just trying to act normal," Spike muttered as the host led them to their table

"Well stop it!" Buffy said with a quiet rage and sat down, before he could offer her the chair

"Do you want me to be myself Summers?" Spike leaned on the table trying to keep his voice down.

"Yes!" Buffy answered in the same tone.

Spike smirked at that. God she looked so cute when her eyes narrowed at him like that

"I thought you said I act like a pet pig," he stated and watched Buffy looking through her menu.

"I said you were a pig," Buffy said, not taking her eyes from the menu.

"What's the difference?"

"I was referring to your chauvinistic perceptions, not your table manners,"

Spike snorted and looked at his menu, his eyes narrowing.

A few minutes passed and Buffy let out a sigh, Spike looked up and closed his menu.

"Let's get out of here,"

"W-what?... Why?"

"C'mon summers we both know this place isn't for us,"

"So why did you bring me here?" Buffy frowned.

"They serve veal brains…" Spike leaned to the table "raw" he added and watched Buffy wrinkle her nose.

"Let's go," she grabbed her purse

"That's really classy Spike," Buffy sneered as they walked together through the park.

"I don't know what you're complaining about; I saw the way you jumped from that chair,"

Buffy stopped walking and turned to face him

"Okay what is this?"

"What?"

"And don't say it's a date… dates involved food and drinking, probably sitting in a fancy restaurant engaging awkward conversation,"

"Well this is awkward," Spike muttered under his breath gazing away.

"Is this your idea of a first date Spike?" Buffy snapped and made him look at her

"You keep using that word luv…makes a bloke think you want it to be," Spike smirked.

"Ugh!" Buffy turned on her heel and started walking, when she felt a hard grip on her arm.

"What do you want Spike!?" she quickly turned to face the persistent blond

"A second chance," Spike said quietly, his eyes
fixed on hers.

"Why?" Buffy could help but wonder aloud.

"Why?" Spike repeated her question softly as if he was trying to read her thoughts

"I don't get it Spike; I just don't get what changed. Why do you want to be with me?" Her words came out more firmly

"What is this really about Summers?"

"I-" Buffy opened and closed her mouth not sure what to say.

"Why don't I make it easy on you pet…tell me what you want to hear,"

Buffy sighed and glared at him

"Well?" Spike glanced back at a couple that walked by and stared at the two of them arguing

"You got to understand that this," Buffy pointed her finger between then "Isn't easy for me at all,"

"And why is that?"

"You honestly ask me that after all this time? After everything we've been through?" Buffy frowned.

"We both said some things we didn't mean-, God, Buffy people can change you know?"

"So what, overnight you stop thinking I'm a repulsive little brat?"

"Never thought of you as repulsive," Spike narrowed his eyes at her

"So you always wanted to nail me?" Buffy raised her chin

"Never wanted to "nail" you," Spike snapped, "I wanted to kill you!"

"Not making it better," Buffy sent him a cold stare.

Spike inhaled deeply before gazing at her again "You know what…it should,"

"What?" Buffy said confused

"Buffy..." Spike closed the gap between them. "When I'm with you, it's like the whole sodding world disappears, everything else just fades away, and it doesn't matter how screwed up things are…" Spike paused to gaze at Buffy's eyes "the only thing I can care about is you… I never felt this way about anyone, doesn't it tell you something?" Spike paused and gazed at Buffy who looked like she was deep in thought.

"Not even for Drusilla?" Buffy searched Spike's eyes,

"No," he said without blinking "I never-"

Spike wasn't expecting this, he wasn't expecting to feel Buffy in his arms so soon. He wasn't expecting to feel her warm lips pressed against his, kissing him passionately. He opened his mouth and deepened the kiss, letting Buffy's tongue wrestle with his. He held her shoulders and part of him felt he was holding her for support, he always knew Buffy could bring him to knees. He moaned in to her mouth knowing that he wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

"Willow looks cozy,” Anya turned to Xander, almost yelling through the loud music that was played in the pub.

"Give her a break, it's her night off," Xander sipped his beer and leaned back in his seat.

"I don't like the way you manage this place Xander, people are complaining,"

"People…What people?" Xander raised a brow

"Well me for instance," Anya send him an honest stare

"Anya…honey," Xander wrapped his arm around his girlfriend’s waist "if this is about Willow-"

"Willow?" Anya looked at him surprised

"I know you had your differences…" Xander explained, remembering Anya's jealousy episodes.

"Oh that..no," Anya snorted slapping his thigh. "I'm not worried about that anymore...It's obvious Willow plays for the other team," Anya smiled brightly

"Other team?" Xander asked bewildered

"Yeah, she's gay," Anya simply stated

Xander blinked a few times before replying with a slight resentment "Willow's not gay!"

Anya put both of her hands at the sides of her boyfriends head. She made him look to the other side of the room, where Willow and Tara were sitting next to each other, kissing.

"Oh," was all Xander could say.

"Ow," Buffy's back hit a tree. The grass under her feet tickled her toes through her sandals and she could barely see straight. She knew she shouldn't ruin her new dress by brushing against trees or bounding with nature. But the only thing she could think about was Spike's tongue exploring her mouth, his hard chest pressed against hers, and his growing desire was making her moist between her legs.

"Oh God Spike," she gasped when his mouth attacked her neck

"God Buffy, I need you so bloody much," Spike's hand roamed over her breasts, feeling her nipples harden under his touch.

"Spike…" Buffy panted hard "Wait," she said as he was about to lift the dress up.

"Spike froze and looked at her flushed face "Not here," Buffy said almost as a plea.

Spike looked around like he just realized where he was "of course pet," he straightened up "I'm sorry," he gazed at her hoping that she was not upset with him

Buffy almost regretted the loss of contact, but the sight of people walking through the park brought her back to reality.

"I'll walk you home?" Spike said and took Buffy's hand as she nodded.

They looked at each in awe as they walked hand in hand, surprised by the sincerity of that gesture, wondering about this new building of trust between them.

Chapter 10

"And then he leaned forward-"

"Eeek," Willow squealed, listening attentively as the girl in front of her finished her story.

"And kissed me goodnight…on the cheek," Buffy blurted and took a sip at her drink.

"Huh"? Willow sent Buffy a confused look. It was followed by a harsh glare when she took her time finishing her drink.

"I know Wills," Buffy put the glass on the table with a thud "It’s like I'd fallen to bizarro world…I mean we are talking about Spike here, right?"

"I guess he's trying to be a gentleman,"

"He's trying to drive me crazy," Buffy murmured

Willow couldn't help but laugh at her friend's expression

"What?" Buffy frowned.

"Nothing," Willow shook her head chuckling, taking a few moments to calm herself down.

"It's just-" she sighed “look at you Buffy… you're never pleased with anything, Spike's trying to do right by you. He’s trying to be someone you could trust…I thought that's what you wanted-"

"It is," Buffy cut through her friend's words "I just…I just wonder if it's not all an act…if he's not just after something-"

"What?" Willow looked at her skeptically "trying to get into your pants? Already been there, remember?"

"Right," Buffy gazed blankly into space

"Buffy…Spike has feelings for you, he wouldn't had gone through all this trouble for a second go-"

"What do you want Spike?"

"A second chance,"

"-It's time to get over the past and move forward…I'm sure Spike wants the same thing," Willow added

"…the only thing I can care about is you…I never felt this way about anyone,"

"Did you hear what I said Buffy?" Willow gazed at her friend who looked deep in thought.

"Loud and clear,"

It was already late when Buffy walked into her dark apartment. Since Xander started running his pub, she’d gotten used to the dim lights and noises coming from the late night New-York street, keeping her company. During the day, she dedicated herself to her studies and her art, but in the evenings, she just liked to linger in her room, lie flat on her bed and stare at the shadows playing on the walls.

Buffy put her handbag down on the counter and went to her room while pulling her shirt over her head.

She yelped in surprise as she noticed a dark figure standing in the shadows

"What the hell?" Buffy breathed hard, her shirt still wrapped around her arms

"Sorry…didn't mean to startle you luv," Spike said and sat at the edge of her bed, looking relaxed more then ever.

"Jesus, Spike…are trying to kill me?" she said and covered her bare chest.

"No need to feel shy pet," Spike smirked and gazed at her fervently

"And he's back," Buffy muttered and put her shirt back on

Spike tilted his head and gazed at her like he was waiting for something

"What are you doing here?" Buffy asked calmly, surprised to see him again so soon

"We have a date,"

"What are you talking about?"

Spike got up and closed the gap between them "I said I'll come to see you,"

"When was that?" Buffy said quietly gazing into his eyes, wishing he wouldn't notice the effect his proximity had on her

Spike reached out his hand and played with a lock of Buffy's hair between his fingers

"I said goodnight," he talked huskily and watched her closely "and then I kissed you like that." Spike leaned and gave Buffy a peck on the check "and then I said I'll see you tomorrow kitten," he whispered in Buffy's ear.

"Oh," Buffy inhaled sharply, becoming intoxicated by his scent, a mixture of cigarettes and cologne, Spike's scent "I forgot,"

Spike turned to look at her again "Did you now?"

"Spike-" Buffy gazed down to the floor, avoiding his deep blue eyes

"You're tired," Spike said as if he was reading her mind

"Yeah actually," Buffy met his gaze

"Do you mind if I'll stay here for a while? Just to...talk," Spike was surprised by his own words.

"No," Buffy shook her head and took a step back, breaking the spell

"Just let me freshen up, I'll be right back," She walked past him to the bathroom next to her room.

Spike sighed and scanned the room. It was bigger then he remembered it, it had more space, no more girly stuff like the stuffed animals Buffy used to collect. The boy bands posters were replaced by Buffy's paintings, and there were lots of them just lying around on her nightstand and on the floor.

"How's art school?" Spike asked, still looking around.

"It's going really well," Buffy, answered behind the closed door "I didn't think I could get in without Dad’s strings...but guess what," she opened the door and walked back in

"People actually think I'm good at what I do," Buffy smiled at Spike who could not help but smile back warmly.

"Sure you are pet," Spike closed the gap between them and just noticed she’d changed her jeans for tiny shorts, he couldn't take his eyes off them, even if he wanted to.

"They'll make me do sketches with nude models in no time," Buffy grinned

"Need a volunteer?" Spike gazed up at her with a cocky smirk.

"Ha-ah," Buffy sneered, "I wouldn't mind…but I don't you to scare people off,"

"You think I have something that would scare people?" with a leer, Spike put his hands in his pockets, tightening his jeans around his crotch.

Buffy rolled her eyes and walked by him, to take her hairbrush from the nightstand.

"Painting you will be a pain, you can't hold still for a minute," Buffy said and gazed at mirror in front of her.

"You can always draw from memory," Spike chuckled and added "like you did before,"

He regretted the words as soon as they left his mouth Buffy froze and glared at him through the mirror in front of her

"Oh bugger," Spike muttered under his breath as Buffy turned to face him

"You saw the portrait?" Buffy asked, shocked

"Just a glimpse," Spike blurted not meeting her gaze.

"You mean like…'oops I accidentally opened Buffy's drawer and went through her stuff' glimpse?"

"Well…yeah," Spike gazed at her blankly

"I can't believe you!" Buffy said harshly

"I'm sorry alright…I was curious,"

"That's why you acted stunned when I came into the room," Buffy mumbled remembering all that had happened since that moment.

"Buffy," Spike came closer "luv, I'm sorry…it was bloody stupid of me, I didn't think, I never think, you know that,"

"Is this is why you changed your attitude towards me?" Buffy looked at his eyes.

"Partly yeah," Spike admitted, "it's not what makes me want you. It just cast a new light on a few things,"

"Like what?" Buffy muttered less angrily

"Like how bloody amazing you are," Spike smiled

Buffy gazed down at her hands, taking a moment to think.

"Forgive me?" Spike asked sheepishly

When you put it that way…Buffy looked up at him "don't do it again,"

Spike nodded

"I mean it Spike," Buffy said with a warning tone "I don't like it when people invade my privacy, not even silly stunts like switching Christmas presents under the tree," she glared at him dead in the eye

A slow grin spread across Spike's face "That was bloody hilarious!"

Buffy slapped his chest when he chuckled

"Xander still thinks I bought him that dildo!" she said blushing

"You're homophobic!" Anya crossed her arms and sat up straight on her bed gazing at the man lying next to her.

"Am not,"

"Fine…you're a lesbian-phobic…which by the way makes it worse in my book,"

"Alright… I'll bite," Xander inhaled sharply "how is that worse?" He sat up as well and glared at her.

"Men are supposed to be turned on when watching two women make out-"

"Not when one of those women are your best friend!---then you're a pervert,"

"Fine whatever…you know what Xander, if you'll keep brushing me off with these lame excuses-"

"I'm not baby…I told you I'm just tired," Xander opened his arms to her and let her rest her head on his chest.

"I know you are," Anya sighed "but you better wake up in 15 minutes for another round…I’m still up for more after the last one and we agreed on at least 3-"
The sound of Xander’s snore cut through Anya's rambling, Anya looked up at him and rested her head back on chest, closing her eyes smiling.

Buffy felt her back hit the mattress and broke away from Spike's lips.

"I thought you were here to talk," she said panting as he nuzzled her neck

"And you believed me?" she felt him smiling against her skin

Buffy grabbed a handful of his curled hair and made him look at her "You are not getting away with this by distracting me," she smiled at him playfully

"Watch me," Spike smirked right before capturing her lips again.

"Ummm," Buffy moaned into his mouth, then rolling on the bed so she would be lying on top of him

"Xander could be here in any minute," Buffy said sitting on his lap, breathing heavily.

"I don't bloody care," Spike sat up and cupped her breasts, while nibbling her neck

"Oh god Spike," Buffy arched her back when Spike grabbed her rear and pushed his pelvis against hers, letting his desire be known.

"No…you need to go," Buffy pushed him back by the shoulders and pleaded "please,"
She needed time to catch her breath. Things were happening too fast and she’d promised herself not to be with him again until she was sure

"Not going anywhere sweetheart," Spike pushed her onto the bed and crawled on top of her.

"Wait," Buffy gasped and shivered as Spike trailed kisses down her chest with an opened mouth, she wanted to protest, but felt lost under his touch.

"Need you so much," Spike blurted and caught Buffy's lips again with blunt teeth, kissing her wildly.

Suddenly Buffy jerked her face away with a frown. Spike froze

"What is it?" he gazed down at her and noticed her eyes glittering

"You're hurting me," Buffy murmured with a trembling lip, avoiding his gaze,

"I'm so-"

Spike came to rest his forehead against Buffy's, but she turned her head away.

"I'm sorry," he whispered in her ear and paused, thinking what to say next, how to make her understand "I just want you so bloody much…I can't even see straight,"
He closed his eyes and hoped to god he didn't ruin everything.

Buffy turned to look at him coldly "Get off me," she muttered and Spike complied quickly by sitting straight.

Noticing her relaxing as the weight of his body was lifted; Spike couldn’t help but think he screwed up for good this time. He looked down, cursing himself for being such a wanker,

Still trapped between Spike's legs, Buffy sat up and glared at the man before her, emotions clearly playing over face. Her heart ached when she noticed how ashamed he was.

A moment passed and Buffy rested her hand on Spike's chest. He glanced at her in surprise. She almost felt dazed by the intensity of his stare, one full of awe. She’d never thought any man would look at her that way, most of all Spike… and now she knew, he owned that look.

Her hand traveled down to the hem of his shirt, and snaked under it, to get access to the buttons of his jeans.

"What are you doing?" Spike asked with a strangled voice

"Shut up," Buffy attacked his mouth while tugging on the buttons.

"Buffy," it was Spike's turn to gasp when she lifted his t-shirt and started kissing down his chest, unbuttoning him when she tongued his navel

Buffy took him out of his pants and then gazed up at him, her eyes widening.

"I’ve never done this so I could use some pointers,"

ohgodohgodohgod was all Spike could think about. The sight of Buffy between his legs alone, could bring him to his knees

And now her big green eyes were gazing at him

And she was cupping his balls.

Jesus

"Buffy," his hand brushed a lock of hair from her face "you don't have to do this," Spike hissed in a breath and tried to gain a little bit self control.

"I want to," Buffy said softly and before Spike could say another word she reached and took him in her mouth.

"That's disgusting,"

"What…oral sex?"

"You and yes,"

"You mean you haven't-"

"No and I never will,"

Spike was dazzled by Buffy's touch but couldn't help thinking of the conversation they had not so long ago.

"When you are in
love with someone as deeply as you claimed you've been, you want to give him everything…every pleasure…especially that,"

"I will never love somebody that much,"

Spike looked down at Buffy and closed his eyes at the sight of her. It was almost too much…

"Buffy stop," he barely got the words out and immediately regretted them

"Did I do something wrong?" Buffy gazed up at him innocently.

Bloody hell Spike thought watching her licking her lips, like a child, that was caught eating candy.

"No luv," Spike held her shoulders and helped her sit up.

"What is it?" Buffy asked bewildered

I love you too "I want to be inside you," Spike murmured and kissed her passionately, and pushed her back onto the mattress.

"Is this okay?" Spike broke the kiss and asked to make sure

"Oh yes," Buffy said panting and resumed the kiss.

Spike didn't know what caused Buffy to open up to him that way again. But he thanked his lucky stars that he was given the chance to show her what his feeling were all about. Even if he couldn’t put them into words yet, when he’d finally removed all of her clothes he took a long look at her, admiring her naked form

"Spike?" Buffy said blushing under his intense stare

"I don't have one," Spike remembered they needed to use protection.

"We don't need it…I'm on a pill," Buffy answered looking a bit shy.

"Oh,” Did she make sure because of me? The answer only made Spike want Buffy more.

"Spike these long pauses are really starting to freak me out, would you just snap out of it and fuck me?"

Spike shook his head smiling, that's my girl

"Gonna shag your little brains out," he brushed his lips against hers softly

"Promises, promises," Buffy smiled against his lips and wrapped her legs around him.

When they were finally joined, there was no doubt in Buffy's mind, best not to think things through. All that arguing and verbal battles made no difference, at the end the promises were forgotten. All that mattered was feeling her lover in her arms, making love to her. Even if he didn't know it, Spike was making love to her and nothing made her happier.

The morning light, breaking through the window woke up Xander from the most peaceful sleep he had in ages

"Morning honey," Anya walked in with two cups of coffee in her hands

"What time it is?" Xander blinked sitting up in the bed.

"Eleven," Anya smiled and put Xander's cup on the night stand next to him.

"Oh shit—Buffy," Xander muttered and ran a hand through his hair.

"She’s a big girl, I'm sure she could mange a night without her big brother watching her," Anya sat next to him and sipped her coffee

"I know that An…but I should have at least called her or something, tell her I'm here,"

"Believe me she wouldn't mind," Anya grinned

"What's that look...you know something don't you?"

"She's with Spike," Anya got up from bed

"And you know that…how?"

"He told me he was going to see her,"

"Great," Xander got up from bed, searching for his pants "how come Spike's sharing with you all of a sudden?' Xander grumbled

"Jealous honey?" Anya winked at him and went to look at herself at the mirror.

Xander shrugged and pulled up his pants

"Oh-my-god," Anya turned to look at him

"Anya, please not again with your crazy theories-"

"No," Anya cut in waving her hand and Xander glared at her, waiting for an explanation

"I just can't believe how obsessed you are with this. Just tell me Xander, what is about Spike that it bothers you so much?"

Xander sighed and grabbed his t-shirt from the floor

"I know you all think I'm blind," he said gazing down at his shirt "but I'm not," he added as Anya opened her mouth to say something.

"Buffy is in love with Spike…she probably has been since they first met. I should know. I was there-"

Anya crossed her arms and stared at him.

"But Spike never knows what he wants. Spike is the type of guy that just stumbles through life without taking any responsibility-"

"And Buffy is a responsibility?" Anya asked confused.

"Buffy needs someone stable…someone who would take care of her," Xander met Anya's gaze "She never had that," Xander muttered under his breath and put on his shirt.

"Morning luv," Spike nuzzled Buffy's neck when he felt her waking up

Buffy turned to look at him "You're here," she smiled slightly

"Where else would I be?" Spike asked as he smoothed the hair from her face

"It's just the last time-"

Spike silenced her with a soft kiss

"Umm," Buffy licked her lips and gazed up at him with a bright smile.

Spike's eyes darkened with lust as he watched her "Buffy I-"

"What time is it?" Buffy cut trough his words and glanced at the watch on her nightstand.

"Oh it's late," she said and pulled away from him, getting up.

Spike sighed and got up as well

"I'm sorry," Buffy said as looked at his frowning face” I have classes today and I have some things to do before I-"

"That's alright," Spike smiled leaned to kiss her briefly

They got dressed in silence and met each other by the door

"Maybe I could meet you at Alex's place. I'll buy some groceries and then I'll stop by so we could have breakfast together?" Buffy turned to Spike looking hopeful

"Sure kitten," Spike cupped her face and kissed her in reassurance.

"Have nothing better to do anyway," he smiled as they walked out

The grocery store was empty. Buffy went through the shelves looking for an orange juice she liked, when a familiar giggle at the other side of the aisle came to her ears.

"Kim you slut…I'll tell you everything when I come over to the salon," she heard Harmony talking on her cell. When she looked closely through the groceries on the shelf, she noticed her standing near the beauty section

Figures

"fine!…I'll tell you now…it was fuckin' awesome okay…Spike was so turned on when he saw me naked in his bed that he couldn't take his hands from me," she giggled.

Buffy froze and could help but listen to rest of the convection.

"…and where were you two nights ago…watching reruns of friends?" Harmony teased

Buffy bit her lip, her mind working overtime.

"I dunno Kim...we've done it so many times, I think I broke poor Spikey,"

Buffy heard Harmony laughing again and decided it was time to go to the register.

Chapter 11

"Preparing to make the world's greatest omelet?" the cashier glanced at Buffy's groceries and smiled.

"Just put it on the bill," Buffy said dryly and put her groceries in a paper bag, trying to get out of the grocery store as quickly as possible.

A few blocks from the store, Buffy spotted her target and walked towards it with quick footsteps.

At the same time, Spike was sitting at Xander's place sipping a cup of coffee. A slight smile curved his lips as he thought of Buffy and the night they’d spent together. He couldn't wait to see her again. He wished he could just stay in bed with her the whole day but Buffy had her life. He just hoped that her rushing out of the apartment that morning wasn't some excuse to get away from him, or some insecurity on her part

Spike looked around and noticed the place was almost empty. Willow was standing at the bar talking to one of the regulars and Xander wasn't anywhere to be seen...it's probably a good thing he thought…he didn't think Xander would approve him and Buffy being all snuggly wuggly with each other so early in the morning.

Spike took another sip from his coffee and almost choked when he glanced outside at the street

"Bloody hell!" he coughed a few times and rushed outside.

"What the fuck are you doing!?" standing frozen at the sidewalk, Spike glared horrified at his black car covered with eggs.

"What does it look like?" Buffy said and threw another handful of eggs at his car

"It looks like you're egging my bloody car!" Spike raised his voice, narrowing his eyes at her.

"How could you?" Buffy spat standing near his car with the egg carton in her hands

"How could you sleep with her?"

"What are you talking about?" Spike's voice softened seeing the hurt that was clearly written on her face.

"Don't! Don't you dare lie to me!" Buffy’s bottom lip trembled as she continued

"You slept with Harmony two nights ago-"

Spike gazed at her stunned, but before he could say something Buffy added

"Just tell me this…was it before or after you asked me on a date?"

"What's going on?" Xander's voice cut in as the two blonds stared silently at each other.

With Anya on his side, Xander glanced at Spike's car and exchanged looks with Willow who came out of the pub to see what the fuss was all about.

Buffy dropped the carton from her hands and took off with Spike following as she ran across the street, leaving their shocked friends behind.

"Buffy-" Spike tried to catch up with her as she ran to a nearby park.

"Go away!" Buffy sniffed and wiped her face with her sleeve.

"God stop this!" Spike finally caught up with her and turned her around to look at him by holding her arm.

"Buffy you’ve got to stop this juvenile behavior! We need to talk about things; you can't just act like a lunatic every time there's a problem-"

"Maybe you made me into a lunatic… ever thought of that?!" Buffy yelled trying to free herself from his grip.

"Is there a problem here?' a firm voice came from behind them, Buffy and Spike turned to see a cop staring at them

Oh bollocks

"Excuse me miss, is this man bothering you?" the officer asked, watching as Spike loosened his grip on Buffy's arm.

The officer waited for Buffy's answer and Spike rolled his eyes.

"As a matter of a fact, he is," Buffy said, glancing at Spike coldly.

"Bloody hell woman!" Spike snapped "haven't you learned anything from out little road trip?"

"Is this your boyfriend miss?" the officer asked

"Please," Buffy snorted and then looked down, shaking her head at the situation.

"Could you bugger off," Spike said impatiently "I need a moment with my lady,"

The officer sent him a harsh stare and turned to Buffy "Is this okay with you, miss?" he asked

"Yes please," Buffy replied quietly and gazed up at him "I'm fine,"

"Okay," the officer took a step back giving Spike a warning look "I'll be right there," he added before leaving.

"Stupid git," Spike mumbled watching the officer walking away. He turned back to Buffy.

"Just say whatever is you wanted to say," Buffy mumbled avoiding Spike's gaze.

"I don't know what you heard pet, but I didn't do anything wrong," Spike search her eyes trying to get trough to her.

"Really…so Harmony didn't surprise you, naked, in bed?"

"Well that part is true---but! Nothing happened," Spike added when Buffy shrugged

"You really expect me to believe that?" Buffy's face was void of emotion

"Yes," Spike answered desperately "Dammit Buffy, I'm sorry I didn't tell you about it, but this is the type of reaction I wanted to avoid,"

"Excuse me?" Buffy said with clenched teeth "where do you get off judging me?…this- this is all your fault!" she stammered.

"You’re acting like we're in a bloody school yard and this is my fault?" Spike asked bemused.

"You're the one to talk…I can't talk to you! You're making everything into a joke. The only way I ever get a reaction out of you is by getting physical,"

"If you wanted to get physical, all you had to is-'

"You see! That's exactly what I'm ta-"

Buffy was cut off when Spike tackled her mouth with his.

"You have to believe me Buffy," Spike broke the kiss, cupping Buffy's face with both hands "Nothing happened between me and Harm,"

"What did happen?" Buffy gazed into his eyes seeking the truth.

"I kicked her out, told her to sod off for good…told her I'm with someone else," Spike said softly gazing at Buffy's lips.

"Me?" Buffy asked sarcastically

"Yes you, you silly bint," Spike tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Believe me?" he asked.

Buffy hesitated and took a step back

"Why?...why should I believe anything you have to say?" she said skeptically.

"Because I'm in love with you," Spike blurted, relived that he could finally express his feelings.

"What?" Buffy glared at him, taken back at his words.

"I'm in love with you Buffy," Spike repeated, not taking his eyes from hers.

They stared at each other for a moment

"I know you love me, you can't deny it," Spike tilted his head when he gazed at her.

"Not going to," Buffy met Spike's gaze and took another step back when he approached.

"Buffy-"

"I need some time to think," Buffy said stepping away from him as far as she could. She finally got what she wanted from him, but at what price? How could she know if he was telling the truth, her emotions were too shaky right now.

"Think about what?" Spike asked bewildered.

"Everything," Buffy simply replied before she turned to leave, without a second glance.

Watching her walking away, Spike murmured

"I'll be waiting,"

Christmas, 2 years earlier

Buffy followed Anya into her kitchen; Anya was kind enough to invite her and Xander for Christmas, so the least she could do was help out in the kitchen.

"I don't understand why he had to come?" she mumbled

"Oh give it a rest Buffy…it was funny," Anya said, putting the dirty dishes in the sink

"Humiliating me in front of my family and friends isn't my idea of funny,"

"That's because you're a stuck up tight ass Summers," a voice came from behind her

Buffy turned to see Spike leaning on the doorframe of the kitchen.

The smug look on his face made her blood boil; she decided the best thing to do was to leave and avoid confrontation.

"Get out of my way," she said when Spike blocked her exit.

"Or what?" he smirked at her.

That's it, she couldn't take it anymore.

"You think I'm an idiot, I know you switched the presents to make me look bad, you're going to pay for that Spike, with interest!"

Spike just stared at her grinning.

"Where is your Nancy boy with his Nancy boy hair gel?" he asked while scanning her body.

Buffy gulped but quickly recovered.

"You're the one to talk, you put on so much product, your head can stop a bullet!" she sneered and brushed her hand through his hair, to her surprise it was amazingly soft ,

However, she still wiped her hand on his t-shirt in disgust.

"Hey, watch It" Spike growled.

"I guess it doesn't matter with your head being so thick and all," she added smirking.

"My thickness could bruise you little girl," Spike narrowed his eyes at her and looked like he was going to attack her any minute now.

"You're disgusting!" Buffy spat, Spike almost launched at her, and Anya came to the rescue.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Anya came to stand between them "no fighting at Christmas, at least not in my house…you'll break something and it would cost me money," she added.

Buffy and Spike stepped back a little.

Anya went to the counter to take some appetizers. She grinned when she noticed the spot where Buffy and Spike were standing, clueless.

"Mistletoe!" she pointed and the two glanced up to see the mistletoe hanging above their heads.

"Why don't we resolve this with a nice kiss huh?" she said.

"LIKE HELL" "NO WAY"

Both answered and glanced at her at the same time.

"C'mon just a little one…" Anya smiled

"I'm not kissing that brat, she probably has Angel breath," Spike gazed at Buffy.

"Spike…I wouldn't kiss you if my life depended on it," Buffy said harshly "in fact just the thought of it, makes me sick to my stomach,"

"It makes you sick huh?" Spike said with a leer and before Buffy knew what was happening, his lips crashed against hers.

It was brief, very brief, but Buffy's world dissolved as Spike brushed his lips against hers.

She quickly realized what was happening and pushed him off

"Well that was lame," Anya said and walked passed them.

The two glared at each other for a moment, until Buffy remembered to wipe her lips in fake revulsion.

"Pig," she spat and turned to leave, afraid he'd noticed the blush on her cheeks.

"Bitch," Spike muttered under his breath and walked away in the other direction, adjusting his pants while doing so.

Present day

Buffy found herself at Spike's door. She had walked for hours trying to find the right answers to put her doubts to rest, trying to make sense of everything that happened since the day she and Spike met. She didn't remember it so clearly but she knew she had loved for him long before he did. She was young and naïve and she probably couldn't really tell what that feeling was. It was easier to hate him then too and long for him, want him, in ways that left her defenseless and vulnerable. She’d put her trust in people before and they’d let her down. She’d promised to herself not to open her heart to anyone ever again.

Still she found herself standing at Spike's door, wanting more then anything for him to take her in his arms and promise his love for her.

She knocked on the door twice and looked down as Spike opened the door to her.

"Took you long enough," he smiled, but then Buffy looked up to meet his gaze and his smile dissolved.

"We need to talk,"

Chapter 12

"Oh look honey, its Tara. You remember Tara right? Willow's gr-friend, Willow's friend, I mean friend,” Xander rambled as the four entered the pub.

Tara and Willow gazed at him in confusion,

"Excuse him, he's just really freaked out," Anya smiled politely.

"Uh huh," Willow nodded “Um Xander…can we talk over there for a moment?" she made him follow her behind the counter.

"What was that about?" she asked him as soon as they were alone

"Oh umm…nothing, nothing," Xander shrugged "I just… um… saw you and Tara the other night and…well-"

Willow blushed "Yeah…I've been meaning to tell you," she bit her lip

"That's okay Will…no need to fill me in. I'm just your boss,”

"You know you're more then that Alex," Willow glared at him.

"Really?" Xander raised a brow.

"You know, I would think you'll be more bothered by the fiasco that happened out there than my sexual orientation,"

"Oh yeah that," Xander said with a frown,

"Yes that...your sister looked really upset, shouldn't you be doing something?"

"Now you want me to do something?!' Xander snapped "I wanted to stop it remember, but you're the one who said "No they're in love…you're a big meany for wanting to break them apart,"

"I didn't say it like that…you know, you don't have to be right all the time Xander. Sometimes you can just be supportive,"

"Well, this is me being supportive," Xander turned on his heel "I'm staying out of their way from now on," he mumbled.

"You're just gonna sit there?" Buffy gazed at Spike who sat on the couch in front of her, his piercing stare making it hard for her to form words

"You said we need to talk, so I'm listening pet," he crossed his arms, looking serious.

"Okay...um…" Buffy paused and looked down at her hands

"Spit it out Buffy," Spike blurted harshly.

"God you're such an ass!" Buffy gazed up, narrowing her eyes at him.

"This is what you wanted to say?" Spike sneered.

"No," Buffy got up from the couch and started pacing "I wanted to say I believe you, you idiot. I believe you didn't sleep with Harmony, I don't know why, but I do-"

"You know why," Spike replied calmly, knowing there was more to that statement than what she was admitting.

Buffy gazed down avoiding his eyes.

"I love you," Spike added

"Don't say that," she glared at him.

"Why the hell not?" Spike got up and walked towards her, closing the gap between them.

"Spike-" Buffy’s voice softened "We need to stop this, we need to stay away from each other. I think it's for the best-" she muttered the last part, unable to meet his gaze.

"You said you believe me," Spike searched her eyes bemused,

"And that's what scares me," Buffy mumbled and took a step back.

"Well, I don't care how bloody scared you are, summers!" Spike snapped, "Grow up!" Spike held her gaze and lowered his voice "It's time to drop those bloody expectations you have and deal with reality," he said between clenched teeth

Buffy shook her head and turned to the door.

"Where the fuck, do you think you're going?" Spike followed her.

"I can't talk to you…you-you don't understand-" Buffy walked warily to the door as if wasn’t sure of what she was doing.

"Why don't you explain it to me," Spike blocked her way.

Buffy was speechless, she looked into Spike's eyes and tried to think what to say, but couldn't stop her hands from shaking. As soon as she opened her mouth to speak, a sob escaped her lips. She quickly covered her mouth with her trembling hands.

She didn't want to show any sign of weakness, but she couldn't keep things inside anymore. She couldn't keep things from Spike…not after what he'd said to her. If what he said was true, it changed everything…

"It's alright luv," Spike whispered in Buffy's ear, his arms tightened around her as she cried.

Surprised by the contact Buffy's eyes fluttered open. She sniffed and took a hold of her emotions, but didn't make an attempt to pull away.

"You were right," she murmured close to his neck, feeling him shiver as she breathed against his wet skin. .

"What about pet?"

"That party, freshman year, you told Drusilla I was like a stray dog looking for a home, that you feel sorry for whatever guy who ends up with me, because I'm hopeless…" Buffy said as fresh tears filled her eyes.

Spike lifted her chin to look at him "I can't believe you heard that-"

"I did," Buffy's eyes glittered as she gazed at him,

"Buffy, I was a right wanker back then…I would have said anything to Drusilla to avoid talking about you," Spike brushed her hair back, and rested his hand at the back of her neck, keeping her close,

"How come?" Buffy asked in a strangled voice

Spike sighed, was she that clueless?

"Dru saw the way I looked at you and she didn't like it….if I remember correctly she acted like she never met you before at that party but the fact is she saw you many times before…with me,"

"You always brushed me off," Buffy remembered.

"I was a miserable git…aren't you paying attention to a word I say?!" Spike grumbled

Buffy couldn’t help herself and she smiled at him.

"You're the best thing that's ever happened to me Buffy summers," Spike cupped Buffy's face as he talked "You're smart, you're witty…strong, beautiful…and you were crazy enough to let a poor bloke like myself shag you…twice-"

Buffy slapped his chest playfully and before she could make another move, Spike took her in his arms again and kissed her temple.

"Don't leave me Spike," Buffy wrapped her arms around Spike's waist as tight as she could and rested her head on his shoulder

"Never kitten, you're stuck with me," Spike said huskily, relieved Buffy was finally letting him reassure her.

"When you put it like that I don't know if I want you anymore," Buffy teased and heard Spike growl. The sound made her giggle and soon she started to hiccup.

Spike chuckled as Buffy quivered against his chest

"Try to hold your breath pet," he offered

"It's- not—helping," Buffy said between hiccups

To that Spike lifted Buffy's chin firmly and crushed his lips to hers, hearing her moan softly as he literally took her breath away.

"I have no idea how you run this place Xander," Anya muttered as Xander came to stand next to her behind the cash register after talking to Willow.

"You're too busy with everything else that's going on around here, that you barely pay attention to the one thing that really matters-" she continued rambling completely oblivious to her boyfriend's stare.

"The money!" she said closing the register "I think you should fire one of the employees. You don't need so many waitresses," she crossed her arms "I vote for Jody, she's awfully slow...plus I think she steals," she added the last part quietly, leaning forward.

"Anya?" Xander glared at her ignoring everything she just said.

"What?" Anya finally noticed the funny look on his face.

"Marry me?"

Anya glared at her boyfriend for a moment before slapping his face, hard.

"Oww," Xander touched his check.

"I swear to god Xander Harris, this is the most vicious joke you ever pulled, from all the things-"

"I'm not joking!" Xander whined

"You're not?" Anya said slowly and watched Xander nodding.

"You mean it?" she asked closing the gap between them "You want us to get married?"

"Yes," Xander mumbled, his hand still nursing his cheek.

"Awww," Anya squeaked and kissed him, whispering sorry when he flinched from her touch.

"We need to tell everyone," Anya hugged Xander and then pulled him by the hand.

Xander stopped her and turned her to face him

"Oh penis!" Anya mumbled noticing his serious expression "This is about Buffy, isn't it?"

"I just need to have a long talk with her before things start rolling. We’ve kinda been drifting apart since…well since the Spike thing…you understand right?"

"Well alright," Anya pouted and let go of his hand "but I'm not waiting for long, I mean it Xander," she pointed her finger at him

"I love it when you're bossy," Xander smirked and leaned over to kiss his new fiancée.

Anya smiled against his lips and pulled him by his shirt to follow her to the back room.

"Mmmm..I love this," Buffy sat on Spike's lap and buried her face in the crook of his neck.

"Me too kitten," Spike kissed her temple and leaned back on the couch

"Spike?" Buffy mumbled while tracing her finger on his tee shirt.

"Pet?"

"How did Harmony get into your apartment?" Buffy asked with a leer.

Spike let out a sigh before speaking "Apparently even a stupid cow like Harmony knows the most common place to hide an extra key,"

"Where's that?" Buffy grinned

"Under a dead plant in the hallway,"

Buffy giggled at that and rested her head back on his shoulder.

"Doesn't matter anyway…I found a new place for it," Spike mumbled and stroked Buffy's hair.

"Oh?" Buffy lifted her head and watched Spike shifting in his place, until he pulled out the key from his back pocket.

"Here," he handed it out to her.

Buffy glared at the key in his hand and then looked up to meet his gaze.

"I want you to have it," Spike beamed at her

"If you're expecting some naked surprise in your bed every evening, you got another thing coming-"

Spike chuckled at that "I was actually thinking you could clean the place a bit, cook me dinner or something," he teased

"I don't cook," Buffy glared at him

"I know," Spike held her gaze with a smile and placed the key in the palm of her hand

"Move in with me?"

"Are you serious?" Buffy's eyes widened

"Yeah luv," Spike cupped her face and gazed into her eyes "What do you say?"

Buffy thought she might burst into tears again, but instead she said

"I only have one condition,"

Spike frowned "What is it?"

"I'll tell you later," Buffy smiled and leaned over to kiss him "I want to make love to you first," she smiled against his lips.

Spike broke the kiss and attacked Buffy's neck with a purr. He pushed her to the couch with him, enjoying the sound of her giggles.

"I think we have something good...I don't want anything coming between us," Tara held Willow's hand and gazed at her.

"I feel the same way," Willow smiled warmly at her

"That's why it's really hard for me to say this," Tara said with a teasing smile

"Say what?" Willow played along

"I think you should quit your job,"

"Yeah…and why's that?" Willow ginned

"I kinda overheard Anya saying she's going to be the new manager here,"

"Yeah…I know," Willow took a sip from coffee and then turned to her girlfriend "She’s already acting like she owns the place,"

"Does she even work here?" Tara joked

"Well," Willow leaned on the counter looking down at the cup between her hands “As much as it pains me to admit, she's actually taking care of a lot of stuff,"

"Are you happy working here?" Tara suddenly asked breaking through Willow's cloud of thoughts.

"Yeah," Willow gazed at up to her. “I'm surrounded by my friends everyday what's not to like," she smiled

"What about college?"

"I haven't told anyone yet, but I'm planning on going to night school,"

"That's great," a smile lit up Tara's face

"Let's hope Xander will think so,"

"Well I don't care what he thinks; if he's your friend he'll want the best for you-"

"He does," Willow and Tara heard a voice from behind them and turned to see Xander glaring at them.

"Whatever it takes Will, you always have your job here. I hope you know that," Xander stared at his friend

Willow paused for a moment before getting up from her chair and hugging him

Anya who stood beside her fiancé sighed and smiled

"See everyone is happy, now can we-"

"An!" Xander quickly glared at her

"What's going on?" Willow broke away from Xander and watched the two exchange weird glances.

"We’re just worried about Buffy," Anya explained "After her display this morning she could be anywhere right now, doing god knows what,"

"Spiiiiiike!" Buffy dug her nails into Spike’s back as she rode wave after wave of ecstasy.

"God Buffy, you're incredible," Spike groaned, thrusting into her with deep strokes.

Buffy arched towards him on the couch, touching her forehead to his.

"I love you, I love you," Spike said panting, looking into her eyes

"Yes!" Buffy hissed in a breath, tracing the shape of his shoulders

Spike brushed his lips against hers, breathing heavily

"Say that you love me Buffy, I need to hear you say it," he murmured

"God Spike," Buffy gasped in absolute ecstasy "I love you so much-- always, always-" she mumbled before her orgasm hit her.

Spike felt her inner walls clenching around him and found his own release, tracing kisses down her neck as he emptied himself inside her.

"Fuck," he spat as he moved to lay beside her a moment later "that was-"

"Yeah," Buffy turned on her side and smiled at her blond lover.

"See… and you wanted to walk away from that,"

"I was wro-oh-oh my god," Buffy eyes widened "I'm missing classes, I totally forgot,"
She tried to move, but Spike's wrapped his arms around her.

"I'll write you a note," he said nuzzling her neck.

"Yeah… what will it say?" Buffy moaned as Spike trailed kisses down her neck.

"Dear art school," Spike said between kisses "Buffy couldn't make it to classes today because she was taking private lessons on composition,"

"Composition?" Buffy raised a brow playfully, but before she could say another word
Spike's body hovered over her, gripping her by the ankles and spreading her legs wide.

"Oh," Buffy's face reddened

"So many things to teach you baby," Spike smirked and leaned forward, cupping her face with his hands

"I love you," he said softly before capturing her lips,

Buffy smiled against his lips, happy to hear him say those three words, hoping he'll never stop meaning them,

Knowing she never will.

2 weeks later…

"God, stop flinching," Buffy grumbled and looked down at her sketch

"You'd be flinching too if you'd bloody thorns brushing against your groin," Spike muttered

"Oh stop being a baby…you agreed to it, it was part of the deal, so deal"

"Bollocks!…why these sodding roses? I look like a Nancy boy…can it be something more manly like a gun or a big rock?"

"Do you want the vase?" Buffy crossed her arms irritated

"No, don't want a bloody vase," Spike narrowed his eyes at her.

"So shut up and let me draw," Buffy got back to her sketch but then noticed Spike coming towards her

"Spike!"

"I told you what would happen if you started acting like a bossy chit," he smirked and launched at her.

Buffy yelped and escaped him

"You're naked," she warned but couldn't help but laughed at his appearance as he chased her across the room

"I don't care!" he smiled and tackled her, taking her in his arms and pushing onto the floor.

"Get off me, you perv," she giggled and straggled beneath him on the living room carpet.

"I'm a perv? I'm not the bird who draws naked men."

"Do you want me to draw someone else?" Buffy teased

"You do that," Spike glared at her "and you'll be sketching a dead body,"

"Aww I'm scared," Buffy sneered and wrapped her legs around Spike's waist, making him groan when she pushed her pelvis against his.

"Minx," Spike looked down at Buffy and felt himself growing hard between her thighs.

The sound of giggling broke through the silence between the two lovers, right before the front door was opened.

"Oh my god" Buffy glanced at the doorway and saw Xander, Anya, Willow and Tara standing there in total shock.

Buffy got up from the floor quickly trying her best to hide her naked boyfriend who followed and stood behind her

"Excuse us," Buffy looked at her brother and friends gazing down and pulled Spike to follow her to the bedroom.

"I'm scarred for life," Xander mumbled as the two left the room

"Spike was the only one naked," Willow spat at him and closed the door behind them

"Exactly! That's why I'm scarred for life,"

"God Xander, you were in high school together, didn't you see each other naked in the boys locker room?" Anya arched a brow

Xander was about to protest when he noticed Buffy entering the room again.

"Well," Buffy cleared her throat "Sorry about that….we just-"

"Already got the visual," Xander blurted and walked past her.

"Buffy was drawing me Harris," Spike explained and sat on the couch

"Please," Xander shook his head "no details...I said I'm okay with you two living together, lets not go over board,"

Buffy smiled at her friends and was relieved when they smiled back at her.

"We just wanted to see how you're doing here, thought we'd surprise you," Willow explained

"And you have," Buffy forced a smile and glanced over her shoulder towards Spike.

"We brought you a present," Tara said and handed Buffy a vase with flowers.

"Oh look Spike! A vase," Buffy turned to Spike and giggled when he narrowed his eyes at her.

"Thank you," she looked at her friends again and gave each one of them a hug.

Buffy led the girls to the kitchen and chatted with them. She needed to catch up with everything. Since she moved to Spike's apartment, she hardly saw her friends. She and Spike were so caught up with each other that they almost forgot the rest of world existed

During the conversation, Buffy couldn't help, but wonder what was going on in the other room, hoping that Spike and Xander were not at each other's throats.

She glanced in the other room for a moment just to make sure

"They're okay," Anya reassured her as they stood together and watched the two boys talking.

"You think?" Buffy said worried.

"I know," Anya made Buffy look at her "besides Xander has so much to worry about now since he's marrying me," she smiled

"I'm happy for you Anya," Buffy smiled and hugged her soon to be sister in law

"I'm happy for you too," Anya said and then added, "especially after seeing Spike's member,"

"Anya!"

"What?" Anya said defensively "I'm getting married, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life with one penis,"

Buffy shook her head, and turned to leave when she noticed Spike walking towards her

"What's going on pet?"

"Nothing," Buffy smiled in surprise and then leaned to kiss him, her hands wrapped around his neck.

"What was that for" Spike asked with a grin

"Just for being you," Buffy said before letting him lead her by the hand to their living room to sit with their friends.

The End.

for good this time ;)
