Halloween Bites
Buffy opened the door to the and held it while Xander and Willow followed her
in, her backack fixed firmly to her back as she wandered through the shop.
This was the one night in the whole year she had a free night, no demons no
vampires a normal night. Willow giggled as Xander picked up a toy gun and
imitated a commando solider.
Buffy smiled as she walked past the racks of clothes, and noticed the dress on
the rack in the far corner.
Walking over and touching the pink satin on the bodice she sighed, she picked it
up and paced it over her body.
“Oh Buffy, the dress is beautiful,” Willow breathed as she stood behind her.
“Yeah I know… but who wants to be a damsel in distress?,” She placed the dress
back on the rack and walked adjusted her backpack as she moved to the next rack.
“Well I’ve found my Halloween costume,” Xander held up an army jacket and a toy
rifle. Willow rolled her eyes as she continued to look for something that
wouldn’t make her look like a geek.
“Got it,” Buffy squealed as she lifted a pair of leather trousers with matching
bodice. Xander’s eyes shot wide open when he saw the outfit Buffy held up, she
giggled as she walked over to the counter.
“Oh,I almost forgot,” Buffy ran to the accessories and snatched a pair of
plastic fangs and fake blood; she dropped them on the counter.
“Looks like a good costume, I’m sure you’ll have lots of fun tonight,” the clerk
smiled as he ran the items on the till.
Buffy looked at him oddly, he had an evil glint in his eyes usually she could
tell who had evil tendencies.
Buffy waited as Willow still searched the racks; she picked up a ghost sheet and
turned to Buffy.
“Willow no..Look, let me find something for you.”
Spike stood impatiently in the warehouse, his hands firmly resting on his hips.
In Fact, he had been waiting for over an hour.
“Dru,” he bellowed his voice echoing through the large room.
“Yes my lovely.” She stood on the top level, her long black hair dancing around
her shoulders.
“Come on you know this is an important night, No one will know what’s coming,”
he smiled as she walked down the stairs slowly.
“William, I think you want the slayer for other pleasures, and you’ll forget all
about me,” her fingernails dug deep into the flesh of his arm.
“My
Love you know that isn’t true, I want to kill the slayer and bathe
you in her blood,” he kissed her softly on the lips.
“You always say the sweetest things, but you go out alone tonight because I'm
tired,” He placed his hand on her cheek.
“No I won’t go tonight if it means you being alone,” She smiled as his eyes
softened.
“No my William you go out and have fun,” She smoothed her finger along his
scarred eyebrow and walked towards the staircase.
Spike morphed into his vampire face as he grinned, He smelled the air as he
stepped out into the recently darkened street.
“I will taste the Slayer’s blood tonight.” He marched into the dark alleyway his
black duster billowing behind him.
Buffy applied the last of her make up and brushed her hair, She stepped
backwards admiring herself in the mirror.
The black trousers fit like a second skin, and the bodice gave her an illusionary
cleavage. She twirled in a circle as her hair flowed behind her.
“Angel will love this, maybe tonight will be the night” she thought.
Willow groaned from beyond the door, her arms tried to cover her bare midriff
that was now exposed.
“Everything okay Will?” Buffy’s voice interrupted her inner turmoil.
Willow opened the door slowly; she stood in the doorway her eyes closed tight.
Buffy watched as Willow’s eyes squeezed shut, Her transformation was amazing!
She certainly was going to get some attention tonight.
Willow opened one eye when she heard the gasp from her friend, her mouth opened
when she saw Buffy.
“Oh my God Buffy, you look amazing!” Buffy grinned as she twirled.
“Only thing is I have to add a few little touches,” She moved to the bed and
picked up the fake blood and added a little to the side of her mouth, the
plastic fangs we’re put into pace as she turned around.
Buffy looked into the mirror with her eyes opened wide, her smile plastered on
her face as she lifted her hands.
“Grrrr,” Willow laughed and joined her in the mirror; her frown crinkled on her
forehead.
“You look fantastic Will, I love the look.” She pulled one of her tendrils
allowing it to fall on her shoulder.
“Guys...are you up there?”
“We’ll be down in a minute Xander,” Buffy shouted out.
“Okay let’s get the last of your make up done.”
Spike had already fed twice; he wiped the blood away from his lip as he dropped
his latest victim.
He walked out of the alley, a smug smile on his lips; He turned at the end of
the alley and headed downtown to The Bronze.
Xander sat on the arm of the chair, his hand dipping into the bag of chips Joyce
had handed him.
He looked up as Buffy walked down the stairs; the leather squeaked as she took
each step.
Xander almost choked on his chip as she flashed him a fanged smile. He stood up
almost falling over the arm of the chair.
“Wow Buffy fangtastic,” Buffy rolled her eyes in merriment.
“Thanks Xander. So commando guy tell me where’s your gun?” She leaned forward
and turned him round.
“Hey this is not try before you buy, hands off the merchandise,” he slapped her
hand away from his chest.
“So where’s Will?” Buffy pointed to the top of the stairs as Willow stood there.
Xander stared as she cautiously walked down the stairs. Her arms hung limply at
her sides her stomach bare for everyone to see.
Her dark red lipstick was emblazoned on her lips. Her red hair piled high as
stray strands fell to caress her face.
The short black skirt cut above her knees, showing her slim legs. She stood in
front of Xander her cheeks red with embarrassment.
“Wow Will, you look beautiful,”
Buffy smiled as she reached for her jacket, She opened the door and coughed
interrupting her two best friends from staring at each other.
“Come on guys, we’re missing the free sodas at The Bronze.” She laughed as
Xander ran out of the door.
The clerk sat in the back of his shop. The candles were lit in a circle as he
sat cross-legged, a spell book resting on his knees.
Ethan Rayne inhaled and blew out a breath; He opened the page and read the
incantation. The candles blew widely shooting out a blue flame, the entire room
engulfed in a bright blue light. Ethan continued to read the spell, as the light
grew brighter.
The light dissipated as quickly as it had appeared, Ethan’s hand glided through
his dark brown hair as he stood up and stepped out of the circle and placed the
book back on the shelf.
“Have fun Slayer,” he whispered before locking the door to the costume shop.
Chapter 2:
Buffy looked around the club trying to find Angel; her eyes caught a sight of
platinum hair. She shrugged and continued walking around the club; a flash of
light stopped her as she shook her head.
She faltered and fell backward. Her hand rested on a nearby table, and her eyes
closed momentarily. Her body slumped as she tried to save herself from passing
out. The bartender leaned over and shouted at her.
Buffy quickly turned around as she focused her attention on the person that had
shouted at her, the bartender recoiled and fell from his position over the bar.
Buffy brushed her hair away from her face as she noticed people staring at her
with scared expressions on their faces. She shrugged and calmly walked out of
the exit.
Spike stood outside the store. He lit one of the cigarettes from the stolen pack
in his hand. The lighter illuminating his vampire countenance, in the black
night. The cigarette fell from his lips as he stumbled backward banging against
the window. The shopkeeper shouted from inside the store.
Spike fell to the ground, the side of his head hitting the pavement. His eyes
squeezed shut as the light blinded him.
He slowly opened his eyes as the light suddenly disappeared. He sat up slowly
wondering why he was on the floor.
He shook his duster as he stood up, his pack of cigarettes still in his hand. He
looked down at the packet and put them back in the his pocket. He walked away
from the store with only the one thing on his mind, the
slayer and that tonight he was going to kill her.
Buffy hadn’t been in that alley two minutes when another vampire stopped her.
She looked at him as he growled and grinned as she stepped aside. She rolled her
eyes as the fledgling fell on the floor; he slammed his fists on the floor and
leaned upon his elbows.
“God you are dumb. Are all you fledglings this stupid?” She stood as the other
vampire picked himself up off the floor.
He advanced toward her as she kicked him in the stomach, his hand connected to
her face. She turned around and vamped out; her feral growl echoed in the
alleyway. She pounced on the vampire punching him repeatedly in the face.
Spike turned the corner into the alleyway and watched the fight enfold. The
fledgling put up a fight as Buffy overwhelmed him. She looked bored as she
grasped the stake from the waistband at the back of her trousers.
She plunged the stake deep into his chest as he stared at her before exploding
into a cloud of dust. Spike clapped as he walked closer.
“Well Slayer, on your own,” he halted as she turned around to face him.
“What the hell! Oh this is priceless. Whoever turned you I want to thank them?”
He grinned as she cocked her head to the side staring at him. Her tongue licked
her bottom lip and Spike shifted as his denim jeans started growing tight.
Her chest heaved as she flashed her fangs at him. He stood mesmerised as he
watched her vamp out, his demon senses in tune with hers. This wasn’t about
fighting, this was about dominance. Her red fingernails slowly moved across her
breast as they circled one another.
Spike was the one that attacked first his fist connecting with Buffy’s stomach
as she stumbled back. She held her stomach and grinned as she looked into his
face. She growled and stood up straight, her bones cracking as she stretched her
neck.
Spike stood with his legs apart as he waited for her to make her move. Her
tongue licked her lips as she ran towards him. He shifted to the side but she
clipped his ankle causing him to fall on his back. He lay there as she straddled
his chest holding him down.
Buffy had the advantage being still equipped with her slayer strength. Spike
also had to contend with her newly acquired vampire strength. She leaned down
and licked his neck.
Spike shivered under her tongue as she left a wet trail across his jaw. He
closed his eyes as she sucked on his earlobe.
Her fangs grazed back along his jaw as her lips touched the corner of his mouth;
he turned to catch her mouth with his. Buffy succumbed to his mouth as her hands
slowly moved back and forth across his arms. Spike’s erection grew tighter
against his jeans as she ground back and forth against him.
Spike’s eyes rolled back further into his head as her tongue rolled around in
his mouth. His hands we’re released from her grip under her thighs as he shifted
on his back.
Chapter 3:
Spike was aware of a couple of things as she sat on his chest. Her fangs were
almost too near his throat and he realised he could feel her warm center through
his denim.
Buffy licked along the side of his jaw. When Spike bucked his hips upwards,
knocking her over his head, he growled as he jumped up and grabbed her legs
pulling her to straddle his hips.
“What are you playing at Slayer?” He looked into her yellow eyes trying to get
through to her.
She shook her head as her hand reached down to cup his tight jeans. His hand
moved to her hair and pulled her head back with force. Licking along the column
of her throat, he could taste the salt that had settled there.
She caressed his neck moving to his collarbone. Her hands forcefully opened his
shirt scattering the buttons on the alleyway floor. He looked down at her blood
red fingernails now scoring his chest.
His hand moved to rest on her lower back caressing the skin below her waistband.
Pulling her closer, her lips connected to his in a fury.
Their tongues battled as she tried to move closer. Her lip curled around his
mouth, and her hand grabbed the wisps of hair on his neck as she pulled his head
down allowing her to kiss the column of his throat.
He couldn’t wait any longer. Whatever she was doing it was worth the staking.
His eyes rolled back as she opened her mouth and thrust her tongue inside. Her
nails grazed over the denim as she opened the top button of his jeans, pulling
the zipper down with force.
Her face shifted as her green eyes grew cloudy with desire. He flipped her on
her back. His platinum hair rested on her chest as he licked and sucked at her
breasts. The door leading to The Bronze opened, illuminating the alleyway, and a
man walked past stifling a snicker as he watched the couple on the floor.
Buffy realised someone was watching and she looked up. She flashed her fangs
causing the spectator to run frantically out of the alleyway.
“Come on. You wanna go play?” Buffy inquired. Spike grinned as she moved from
his lap. She held out her hand and pulled him upwards.
“Actually, this is what I had in mind.” He grabbed her around her waist and
pushed her towards the wall. His tongue licked the bottom of her lip eliciting a
growl from her as he explored the inside of her mouth.
He pulled down the zipper on her leather trousers as she helped him pull them
down. He ripped the flimsy material that covered her centre. His nostrils flared
as the smell of her heat enveloped him; her legs automatically moved to rest on
his hips.
His erection bobbed against her heat. He thrust slowly inside her heat feeling a
resistance. Spike stilled as she thrashed against the wall scratching her back.
He waited for her to grow accustomed to him.
She began to shift her hips forward as plunged deeper, his hips picking up the
pace as she ground against him.
Buffy’s hands moved to his neck to pull him closer. Kissing him on the lips she
silenced his grunts as he continued to thrust deep inside her.
Buffy leaned up and looked into the vampire eyes. Seeing nothing but passion and
lust her growls grew louder. She closed her eyes and sighed as her fangs
elongated. Her urge to mark him was consuming her whole being.
Spike was going through a similar inner turmoil; he could see the bloodlust
cover his vision. Her pulse pumped savagely in her neck as it sang to him,
begging him to take her.
He leaned down towards her neck licking the skin, feeling the pulse vibrate
beneath his tongue.
Buffy also moved to touch his neck with her lips. Her tongue darted out and
licked the skin as her lips suckled. His eyes flew open as her fangs punctured
his skin, the blood flowing down her throat. He hadn’t been bitten since
Drusilla sired him.
“Mine.” Her whispered growl rumbled against the column of his neck.
Spike stilled as her hot breath danced on his skin His brain trying to register
what was happening as the words rumbled from his lips. He attacked her neck with
such ferocity that her scream echoed all around them.
#Buffy’s eyes glowed in the dark night as the blood flowed from her neck into
Spike’s mouth, his hips continuously moving in rhythm.
Sparks burst behind her eyes and the tingles of pleasure moved within her body.
Spike’s mouth was still latched onto her neck as he slowly drank.
Buffy head fell backwards as her back arched towards him. Her hands grabbed his
upper arms her nails digging into his skin.
“Mine” the growl vibrated through her body.
Buffy looked up into eyes of blue, she grinned as the claim was met. The look in
her eyes showing nothing but dominance.
They roared in tune; their bodies still moving with aftershocks of their mutual
orgasms. Sweat glistened on his forehead as he rested against her shoulder. Her
legs fell limply onto the floor.
“Baby, let’s go have some fun.”
Spike looked up as Buffy’s hands rested on her hips, her red fingernails tapping
impatiently on the leather. She moved towards him tucking his now limp member
into his jeans and pulling up his zipper with her red fingernails.
She licked the tip of his nose as they walked out of the alleyway hand in hand,
a cigarette hanging limply from the master vampire’s mouth.
Xander sat down next to Willow handing her a soda, She blushed at the attention
her best friend gave her. She frowned when she didn’t notice Buffy… in fact she
hadn’t seen her in a while.
She stood up and scanned the crowd, her eyes darting up to the balcony. She sat
back down next to Xander, splashing his soda over the glass.
“Hey Willow, at least let me drink some first.” She looked annoyingly at her
best friend.
“There’s something wrong Xander. I can’t see Buffy.” He looked up and shrugged
his shoulders.
“She probably caught up with ‘dead boy’ and they got hot-n-heavy somewhere.” He
picked up a handful of peanuts from the bowl on the table and threw them into
his mouth.
Willow settled back into the sofa but her eyes continued to look around the
club. She had an unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach that wouldn’t
shift.
Buffy roared as she smashed the ‘Sunnydale Supermarket’ window, Spike stood and
grinned as she wiped her hands and grabbed a couple of cigarette packets.
“You are a naughty Slayer.” She grabbed his shoulder as he walked away.
“Why do you keep calling me a slayer? I’m a vampire.” Her lip jutted out and he
it grabbed between his teeth.
“Yeah I really don’t know what is happening. But hey far be it from me to
complain, I bet the great Poof is running around trying to find you.”
“Poof? Who’s that?”
He stared at her trying to figure out what she was thinking. He moved in closer
and with his hand her on her waist pulled her closer to him..
“He’s another vampire. Has fake hair, broods a lot.” Buffy crinkled her forehead
and made a face.
“He sounds stupid.” Spike laughed as she grabbed his hand sucking on his
fingers.
“But I can smell another on you.” His face clouded over as he for the first time
that night thought of his sire.
“Drusilla. Yes she is my sire and I have loved her for over 100 years.” Buffy
dropped his hand from her mouth, her jealousy evident.
“Pet, don’t be like that. We’re mated and that’s much more important.” She
relented as his fingers danced over her skin.
Her breath caught in her throat as his finger reached down into her pants.
Feeling the wetness that resided there he grinned as he leant forward and
attacked her with his mouth.
Chapter 4:
Buffy’s fangs pierced Spike’s neck for the second time that night, ripping the
flesh as she greedily suckled on his skin. He held her close as he thrust into
her. The doorway to the run down shop caved in as they fell through.
Willow sat on the edge of the sofa as Xander scooted closer; he placed his rifle
on the table in front of him.
“You know I’m here to protect you. You’re safe.” He looked at her as her eyes
focused on his face.
He leaned in closer as he grabbed her hand; his thumb absentmindedly stroked the
skin between her thumb and finger.
His lips pressed against hers and he plunged his tongue into her mouth. Her gasp
was lost in her throat as Xander continued to kiss her.
She scooted closer on the sofa as his hands grabbed her around the waist and
pulled her closer. Sparks flashed behind her eyes as Xander’s tongue explored
the inside of her mouth. Her stomach burst into spasms as his hands moved under
her top.
Willow’s hands locked behind his neck as she pulled him closer, groaning into
his mouth. She moved to sit on his lap while his hands continued their trail to
her breasts.
“This can’t be happening. I’m sitting on top of Xander while he’s fondling me.”
Her inner voice echoed through her lust filled brain.
She broke free and stood up smoothing down her skirt, her arms cautiously folded
across her swollen chest. Her eyes snapped open and she looked down at Xander.
“Oh my god!” Her hand flew to her mouth as she ran towards the door, a bemused
Xander following behind her.
“Giles.” Willow ran through the doors to the library and stopped abruptly as
Giles walked out cleaning his glasses.
“Willow, goodness you look different.” He stood and placed his glasses on the
bridge of his nose taking another look at Willow’s short skirt.
“There is something really wrong. And I think it has something to do with that
shop downtown.”
Xander waited outside the library pacing in front of the door. His rifle was
poised across his chest; his head darted to each small sound that echoed along
the empty corridors.
He had a duty to protect the innocents. He looked through the small window and
spotted Willow. He smiled as he watched her pacing back and forth across the
library, the muscles of her thighs flexing as she turned.
Xander shook his head from the indecent thoughts that clouded his mind, he
couldn’t think about that now… evil was a foot and he was here to fight it.
Spike licked the blood that trickled down her throat. Her giggle vibrated
through her body causing shivers along his length which was still buried deep
inside her.
“What’s so funny pet?” he raised his head and looked into her yellow eyes.
“Nothing. It just tickles, but in an evil way.” Her fingers laced between the
hairs on the back of his neck and she pulled him down to attack his mouth.
Giles banged on the door of the shop. His hand curved across his forehead trying
to peer in through the window. The door to the stockroom opened illuminating
light towards the door.
Giles gasped when he watched who walked through the doorway. His hands clenched
at his sides.
As the door opened, the bell above the door rang. As Giles walked through he
pushed Ethan Rayne backwards.
Ethan stumbled and fell against the shelves. He laughed as he knelt to get back
up as Giles towered over him.
“Why Rupert, that is no way to treat an old friend.”
“You are no friend of mine Ethan.”
“Well Ripper…” Giles threw a punch that connected to Ethan’s jaw, knocking him
back on the floor.
“Tell me what you did?” He knelt down and grabbed Ethan by his collar lifting
him from the floor.
“You can’t protect her. It’s probably already happened.” Giles eyes widened and
he took out his rage on Ethan beating him senseless.
Spike lifted his head and looked down at the red nails scoring his stomach. He
smiled and then frowned when he caught the lingering scent of his grand-sire. He
sat up and sighed. Picking up his jeans he pulled them up his lean legs and
walked cautiously to the door.
The alleyway to the back of the shop was empty. He slowly turned and inhaled. He
looked back towards Buffy and watched as she drew circles in the dust on the
floor.
“Pet, what are you thinking about?” She looked up, her green eyes sparkling.
“Huh…Oh I wanna have some evil fun. Not that I mind us having sexual fun I just
feel really evil.” Spike grinned and picked her up. Pulling her towards him, he
caressed her lips with his own.
“Come on…let’s go have some fun.” Spike playfully slapped her backside as he
picked up the rest of his clothes.
Giles cleaned his glasses with his handkerchief as Ethan spat blood onto the
floor. Ethan dragged his knee underneath his leg for leverage to lift himself
up.
“I thought you had forgotten your Ripper days Rupert.”
Giles sighed as he paced the small space of the shop interior; he looked towards
the door he walked through.
“Ethan, I don’t have time. Tell me what you did.”
Buffy flashed her fangs as she snatched the bottle of whiskey from the
shopkeeper. He screamed as she sunk her fangs into his neck. With her mouth
still drinking from his neck she handed Spike the bottle.
Spike grabbed a few packets from the shelf and stuffed them in his pockets. He
kept eye still on Buffy as she greedily drank from the now limp man.
“Luv, time for us to go play elsewhere.” She dropped the man to the floor as she
walked over to him and licked his bottom lip.
He didn’t think this teenager could evoke such arousal within his body. Only his
dark goddess could do that. He sobered up pretty quickly as Dru’s face appeared
in his mind.
He growled as he grabbed Buffy’s hand pulling her out of the shop. Dragging her
down the street, they didn’t notice Angel growling in a corner as he watched the
two vampires advance down the street.
Buffy turned to her lover when he muttered the word under his breath. He stopped
as soon as the word was out. He turned to see her eyes flash yellow as she raced
towards him her red nail scoring his jacket.
“What is up with you?”
“Who’s Drusilla? You’re mine” She screamed into the dark night. Spike held onto
her wrists as he pushed her away.
Spike sat there panting and grinned when he realised she was jealous. “The
slayer was jealous.” His eyes grew cloudy with lust as he lunged at her knocking
her to the floor.
Her legs instinctively wrapped around his waist. His hand grabbed a fistful of
hair and pulled her head back. He licked along the column of her throat sucking
on the flesh.
“Mine.” he whispered. She breathed the reply back as he attacked her mouth, the
moans echoing down the alley.
Rupert knelt down in front of Ethan as he whispered into his ear. Giles stood up
and ran to the door. Opening the entry he gasped as the circle of candles was
still lit. He spotted the statue and picked it up. Raising it above his head he
threw the statue down allowing it to smash into pieces around his feet.
Chapter 5:
She closed her eyes while his lips suckled her neck. Her mind felt sated in
the pull of his mouth, lights flashing behind her eyes. Her mouth felt dry as
her tongue sliding slid against the back of her teeth. Buffy was aware of was
the cold concrete floor beneath her back. A heavy weight held her fixed on the
floor, and her neck felt warm as her lids fluttered open.
She blinked against the dark light of the alleyway. Her neck jerked to the
right, something was pulling on her throat as she tried to sit up. Her eyes
focused, when she suddenly realising realized someone was biting her neck.
She shifted underneath the heavy weight that had held her down. The slight
movement of her hips caused Spike’s erection to strain against his denim.
Her mouth opened but the scream was caught in her throat. Spike sensing
something wrong retracted his fangs and licked the trail of blood now running
down her throat.
Dark blue eyes searched her face as he raised himself on his elbows arms; the
shift of his body gave Buffy the momentum. She raised her knee and it connected
violently with Spike’s lower stomach.
Buffy scrambled from underneath his body and stood up. Her fist clenched against
hand flew to her temple as a wave of nausea took came over her.
Spike clutched his stomach as he looked up. The
slayer was leaning had leaned against the wall, her hands holding her
head.
Buffy’s head had begun to clear, her thoughts being reminded of how she was
feeling. Spike frowned knowing the claim allowed him to sense her thoughts. She
was confused, her hands slowly leaving her head and resting heavily at her
sides.
“Slayer.” Buffy’s eyes snapped open as the reality of what happened finally hit
her.
“Spike, we didn’t, did we?” Her hand moved back and forth in a nervous gesture.
Spike just grinned, his fangs glistening in the dark alleyway.
She couldn’t catch her breath. Her chest was constricted and she let her head
rested against the cool brick wall. Spike sensing her distress walked over and
rested his cold hand on her back.
His hand moved in a circular motion causing Buffy to relax. Feeling the coldness
of his touch calmed her. His touch elicited such strange feelings within the pit
of her stomach. She recoiled back, her hand flew to her mouth, and she turned
and ran down the alleyway.
Spike stood there in the alleyway for what seemed
like hours. Going over the events of the night, the muscles in his jaw clenched.
“Bloody great! I claimed the slayer.” He shook his head and walked out of the
alleyway.
Buffy raced home never looking back to see if Spike was chasing after her. She
stopped outside her house as her adrenaline pumped through her body. She walked
around to the back of the house and slumped to her knees. The feelings overcame
her quickly as her head dropped and she emptied the contents of her stomach
beneath her onto the ground.
Her head felt clammy foggy as she climbed up the stairs. She stopped abruptly,
her hand fixed in on the handle of her bedroom door.
“Buffy. Is that you?” her mother’s muffled question came from beyond the door.
“Yes mom. I was just gonna take a shower.” She opened her door and sat on the
edge of her bed.
She caught her reflection in the mirror. Tears marked her face; and two puncture
holes wounds stared back at her. Visible also on her neck was a bruise forming a
purple circle around the two wounds.
She moved quickly to the bathroom shedding her clothes. She turned on the shower
and let the steam envelope the room. Sitting on the edge of the shower she
stared at as the water circled the drain.
Spike had entered the warehouse quietly. He needed to wash himse3lf of the
sexual encounter he just had. But it was worse than that, he had sex with the
slayer. His thumb moved over the mark feeling the puncture wounds that were
visible. His body still tingled from her touch.
Buffy shivered as her neck tingled. She shrugged as she stepped into the shower
trying to erase the memories.
Spike had an uneasy feeling he couldn’t shake. He couldn’t stop thinking about
the slayer the way the slayer’s her nails scraped along his back. He needed a
drink so he moved to the trunk at the bottom of his bed and pulled out a full
bottle of scotch.
Buffy washed herself till her skin was red; her forehead leaned against the cool
tiled wall. Flashes of images sparked through her mind including the moment
Spike bit her. She remembered the way his fangs sank into her the crook of her
neck.
She stepped out of the shower and moved across the corridor back to her room;
dressing herself methodically she lay down in her bed.
Spike stood below he window, his foot crushed the cigarette he had just
finished. He looked at the tree and lifted his foot towards the lower branch.
She closed her eyes unaware of the blond haired vamp watching her from the
window.
Chapter 6:
Buffy sat on the bench in the school courtyard, her blonde hair blowing in the
breeze. Her solitude was noted as her friends continued to chat. Willow sneaked
glances at her friend as she stared into space.
Buffy rubbed her neck and sighed. Her neck felt numb and every time she touched
the wound, she would have a flashback of the sex in the alleyway. Willow decided
it was time to speak to Giles about Buffy; something was defintely wrong.
Buffy wandered into the library after school, expecting Giles to have the mats
ready for training. What she got was completely different. Xander, Willow and
Giles sat at the table waiting. No books were displayed, just an empty space.
“Hey Guys.” Buffy breezed through and sat on the edge of the table.
“Buffy please use the chair that’s provided.”(Giles motioned to the empty chair.
Buffy frowned because this wasn’t good, he had his resolve face on and his
expressions never change. He stood and removed his glasses cleaning them on his
tie; he stared for a moment and moved towards the counter.
“Buffy. We’re concerned about your behaviour today, you seem very detached. Did
anything happen last night?”
Buffy’s eyes shot open, the look of panic clearly etched on her face. She stood
up and paced the floor under the careful eyes of her watcher.
“I’m fine Giles really.” He didn’t look convinced as he continued to stare at
her. Buffy crumbled under his scrutiny; her eyes welled with tears as she
slumped in the chair.
Her whole body convulsed as the other three occupants stared with shock from the
outburst of the slayer.
Willow pushed out her chair and ran over to Buffy. Her arms enveloped her close
in comfort. Giles watched as his slayer broke down, he was worried that maybe he
didn’t have enough time to stop the spell.
“Did something happen last night?”
Buffy looked up her eyes welled with tears, she sniffed and nodded. Giles walked
over to Buffy and placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Whatever it is Buffy you can tell us.” Buffy turned her head and pulled down
the collar of her shirt to reveal the two puncture wounds.
Giles gasped and let his hand drop from her shoulder. Willow stood back and
looked at Giles.
“Whoa Buffy. Did Angel
play tonsil tennis and win?” Willow gave him a look and he raised his
hands in mock defence and sat back down.
“Did Angel do this?”
Buffy shook her head and looked up. Giles had taken his glasses off and rested
them on the counter.
“Then who was it? A fledling? A Master vampire? Who?” Giles had begun to pace
back and forth. Buffy’s eyes followed his movements becoming dizzy.
“Spike.”
The whisper of the name was so soft but everyone heard it. Like a pin dropping
to the floor, the silence was deafening.
“Spike. As in the Vampire trying to kill you?”
“Yes Spike, but he didn’t kill me. I let him bite me. It’s something I can’t
explain. There was a spell because I remember waking up and Spike’s fangs were
on my throat.”
Giles stopped pacing as he watched her talk about Spike, a hint of a smile on
her face.
“Buffy this is important. Did you bite him back?” Buffy stood up and walked away
from the table.
“Well I don’t remember biting him. But he did have puncture marks on his neck.
Why do you ask?”
Giles rubbed his temple as Buffy watched him. She was the slayer, she should
know about all these rituals. Eathan’s voice echoed through his mind, “You can’t
protect her.” He sighed as he opened his eyes.
“Buffy I don’t think you know the severity of the situation. Are you not aware
of claiming rituals?”
She nodded her head and she bit her lower lip. He walked over to his charge and
placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
“It seems you have claimed each other. You are now bound to Spike, as he is to
you. Vampires take this very seriously, this binds you for eternity.”
Buffy’s face dropped her usual golden tan, turning a greyish colour. She looked
over to Willow whose gaze was fixed firmly to the floor.
“What’s gonna happen Giles? Could he bite me again?”
“ I really don’t know Buffy. But at least you didn’t consummate the relationship
so that’s a good thing.”
Buffy gasped and turned away. She kept remembering his hands holding her hips as
he ground down his erection, taking her pleasure to a higher level. Her head
snapped as the doors to the library opened. Angel walked though his black jacket
zipped snugly around his upper body.
Buffy’s throat constricted as he looked at her with longing, her stomach turned
as his hand swept to her fingers. She moved her hand to fold her arms across her
chest.
Angel sensed reluctance with Buffy; he shrugged his shoulders and looked at
Giles, his face masked by the events of the previous night.
“What happened? Do we have another apocalypse?”
Buffy moved and jumped up onto the counter, knowing her bad day was far from
over.
Chapter 7:
“Something happened last night.” Giles took his glasses off and cleaned them
with his handkerchief.
“It’s alright Giles, I’ll tell him. Angel, there is something I need to tell
you. Something that happened last night…”
His hand raised and stopped her confession in mid flow; she looked expectantly
at him.
“Buffy before you say anything I saw you last night. With him.”
“What?” Buffy jumped off the counter and walked over to the table. She shoved
her hands in the front pockets of her trousers.
“A spell was cast last night. I was turned into a vampire and the one person I
bumped into was Spike.” Buffy looked up and focused her gaze on Angel.
“Do you realize what he is?”
“What, a vampire like you?”
“That’s not what I meant Buffy.”
She rubbed the wounds on her neck suddenly feeling agitated. Angel’s eyes
widened noticing the twin puncture marks.
“Buffy. What the hell?” He moved towards her in a flash and pulled the collar
away from her neck.
“I can explain.” Buffy glanced at Giles as he quietly urged Xander and Willow to
follow him in his office.
“I was under a spell. I can only remember certain parts of last night.”
“When you were a vampire did you bite him?”
“I can’t remember….maybe.”
“God Buffy you could be mated. This is serious”
“Don’t you think I know that?”
“Buffy you’re a slayer, you should know better.” She looked up at his face and
walked towards the door.
“Where are you going?
“I’m almost seventeen Angel. If I’m such a child what are you doing here?” She
pushed the door open and walked out of the library.
Buffy walked through the cemetery looking for something to kill. Her stake
twirled idly in her hand.
A branch snapped in the distance. She looked beyond the expanse of the cemetery;
not sensing anything, she continued walking.
Spike lit his cigarette and inhaled, letting the smoke curl through his lungs
and move back up through his mouth. He rubbed his neck as it tingled. Walking
from behind the trees, he stepped on a branch as it snapped.
Buffy staked the fledgling sharply in the chest, dust exploding all around her.
She tucked the stake in her back pocket and sighed.
Her mind grew cloudy as she swayed, her hand found the gravestone to her left.
Images of Spike flashed through her mind, red fingernails scoring down his back
and ripping his shirt. Whispered words breathed against his neck as fangs
pierced into flesh.
Buffy lost her balance and slid to the grass beneath her. Her hand gripped the
soft soil under her legs.
“Mine.” The word echoed around her brain. Her eyes closed shut as her head
rested against the cold, concrete slab.
“Oh my God what have I done?” she whispered.
Spike had the distinct feeling something was wrong; he had a sinking feeling in
the pit of his stomach. A feeling he hadn’t experienced since before he was
turned, it was un-nerving.
He shook the feeling off and decided his best course of action was to drink
himself into oblivion.
Buffy knew what she had to do; she had to find Spike. Find out what the hell he
did to her and if there was any way to reverse the claim. Standing up on her
feet, she swung her hair away from her neck and carried on through the cemetery
to the edge of town.
Willie was having a slow night; most of the patrons had left already. He stood
behind the bar drying a glass with a dirty towel.
The door opened and he looked up and smiled. His smile quickly vanished when he
watched the blond vampire approach the bar.
“And what do I owe this pleasure Spike?”
Spike looked up, pulled out a couple of bills from his duster pocket, and threw
them on the counter.
“Shut up Willie and pass me the bottle.” He complied and slid the bottle of
scotch across the counter. Spike snatched it, moved away from the bar, and sat
in the far corner.
Buffy wandered through the streets of Sunnydale looking for Spike. Nearing the
edge of town the last place she came to was Willie’s.
Willie’s was a demon bar of the worse kind. All the demons and vampires alike
were pointed in the direction of the bar if they wanted information or someone.
Buffy pushed the door open and quietly surveyed the occupants of the bar. The
room was dark and she squinted her eyes to look around.
A group of demons stood up, disgusted with the owner for letting the slayer in
the premises, and left through the back door.
Buffy shrugged her shoulders and walked towards Willie. He eyed her
suspiciously, hoping she wouldn’t start anything.
“Ah Slayer. What do we owe this pleasure?” he leaned forward, his chest almost
on top of the bar.
“Willie I need to know if you’ve seen a vampire. Blond hair, wears black
leather, always has a sarcastic look on his face.”
Willie’s eyes quickly darted to the back of the club and in a split second
reverted back to Buffy.
“I don’t know Buffy. I may have seen someone like that.” Buffy reached over,
pulled on his collar, and lifted up her stake.
“How about you think again.” She pressed the stake against his neck.
“Okay, okay Spike’s sitting in the back over there.” His shaking finger pointed
towards the stage. Buffy followed the shaking finger and smiled.
Releasing Willie she placed her stake in her back pocket. Weaving around the
crowded tables, she moved towards the back of the bar.
Spike moved the bottle of scotch between his fingers watching the amber liquid
sway in the glass. He lifted the bottle to his
mouth and swallowed the contents, some of which spilled down his
chin. He hastily wiped the trail away.
His neck had begun to itch. He craned his neck as his fingers moved to scratch.
A hand held onto his wrist and pulled it down. He looked up to see green eyes
looking down at him.
“It won’t go away.” She released his hand and sat across from him.
“Yeah well, makes my skin crawl.” Spike swallowed the last of the scotch and
slammed the bottle down on the table.
“Look I don’t like this either…but we need to find out what this claim means.”
Buffy tucked her hair behind her ear.
“I don’t see why I should. I’d say we should just forget it.” Spike stubbornly
sat back in his chair.
“Spike I know you been having the flashbacks. I don’t really understand it but
we need to find out.”
“And what does broody boy think?” Buffy looked away and took a lot of interest
in the demon that had walked out with a kitten. Buffy shook her head and looked
at Spike, his blue eyes staring back at her.
“Look I’m not here to talk about Angel. I’m here to find out how serious the
claim is. Look, why don’t you find me when you actually grow up some.” Buffy
stood up pushing her chair back with a scrape of wood against the floor.
She stormed out of the bar giving Willie one last look before heading out in the
night. Spike clenched his jaw and rolled his eyes. He didn’t want these
feelings. He wanted to protect the slayer, keep her safe. Suddenly, flashbacks
of flesh molding together, fangs, and trails of blood came to him.
He almost threw up at the sudden thoughts displayed in his mind. He growled and
stood up walking towards the door looking for Buffy.
Chapter 8:
Buffy continued to walk away from the bar and carried on down the street.
This whole situation was stupid not only was she claimed to an evil vampire. She
also had to deal with Angel.
Feelings had began to develop and it wasn’t Angel she was thinking about all day
it was Spike. She had been awakened to his touch and it scared the hell out of
her. She stepped off the pavement walking across the road, her mind elsewhere.
She didn’t hear the voice shouting her until a hand rested on her shoulder. She
turned aprubtly, her hand balling into a fist and punching her supposed
attacker. Spike stood holding his nose and blood poured onto the pavement.
He looked up with annoyance in his eyes, Buffy stepped forward as he stepped
back. She crossed her arms across her chest as he wiped the blood away with his
thumb.
She turned away and looked down toward the dark street, her stake fixed firmly
in her back pocket.
“Look. I haven’t got time to chat away. I have to do a quick sweep.” She turned
her back on him and moved away from the street lamp. Spike reached for her wrist
and pulled her back to face him.
“I’ll come with you. I want to kill something.”
“Demons only Spike. If I see you biting anything I’ll stake you.” Buffy looked
down at her wrist that was still held between Spike’s cold hand.
He released his hand quickly wiping his palm on the front of his jeans. Buffy
frowned at the gesture shrugging her shoulders she turned and walked down the
street. A blond vampire following closely behind.
An hour later Spike sat on top of a gravestone as he lit a cigarette watching
the slayer dust vamps. He inhaled the curl of smoke through his throat.
“So slayer. Don’t you get fed up of the fight? Don’t you wanna go to proms and
all that crap?”
Buffy dusted the vamp and slid the stake into the waistband of her trousers. She
looked at Spike sitting cross-legged as he continued to smoke the cigarette.
“Of course I want to go to the prom what teenage girl doesn’t. But I’m not an
ordinary girl I’m the slayer I have a responsibility to protect the innocent.”
Spike rolled his eyes as he jumped off the top of the gravestone. He stamped his
cigarette onto the grass beneath his boot and stared up at the sky.
“Blah, blah, blah…. God you sound like a watcher. Live a little have some fun.”
Buffy stood with her hands on her hips listening to Spike rant and rave.
“Oh yeah and what do you suggest?”
Buffy had begun to regret her decision of asking Spike. As she sat in the
crowded bar waiting for the blond vampire to come back from the bar she waited
her hands crossed over her knees.
“What the hell am I doing here?” She thought as she looked around the
bar. The slayer in a bar full of demons, she argued the fact to Spike that she
could fight him. Instead he decided he wanted a drink and Buffy was honestly
surprised with herself for following him.
A bottle slammed onto the table. She looked at the bottle and then up at Spike
who had a smile on his face.
“Well I don’t know about you but I’m here to drink.” He sat across from her as
he unscrewed the top and poured the alcohol into the two glasses.
“How is it you know what I’m thinking?” She moved forward to pick up the glass.
Spike’s eyebrow shot up sarcastically.
Buffy downed the shot and instantly regretted it. Every time she looked at the
glass it was full; she reached for the glass and tipped the glass backwards
letting the amber liquid flow down her throat. Soon her head began to throb and
her vision blurred.
Spike sat and watched the slayer become more and more drunk. Noticing as she
glanced his way.
She looked up her green eyes searching his face, his own body reacting to her
stare. He wanted her to touch her skin. He had to get out of this claim, if his
thoughts mirrored hers there would be no going back. He couldn’t kill her if he
tried after the fateful night of her becoming a vampire he craved her touch.
Buffy was aware of sensations flowing through her body and the way Spike was
looking at her. She shifted in her chair and wiggled against the wood. His mouth
opened slightly forming a small ‘o’ Buffy licked her lips and stood up. Spike
watched in slow motion as she walked over to him her hand settled on his cheek.
He couldn’t move as her warm skin caressed his own cold flesh, he shouldn’t be
this drawn to the slayer.
She leaned down and kissed him softly on his lips, her hot breath escaped from
her lips and caressed his mouth. Her legs moved to his outer thighs so his own
legs were immobile. Her tongue traced the bottom of his lip he couldn’t wait as
his mouth opened; Buffy was waiting as she thrust her tongue inside the cavern
of his mouth.
His hands moved across her hips and moved underneath her shirt caressing the
bottom of her back. Spike moved closer her breasts crushing against his solid
chest, their lips fusing together as their tongues battled within.
Buffy broke the kiss first regaining her breath she leaned back. Her hands still
locked behind Spike’s neck.
Spike eyes had turned almost black with desire; he looked up noticing the flush
on the slayer's cheeks.
“Well that was… something.” Buffy released her hands from behind his neck and
stepped back.
“Why did you do that?” Spike closed his duster across himself, as his jeans had
become tight against his groin.
“I don’t know it was like something was calling me.” Buffy sat back and rubbed
her temple with the tips of her fingers.
“I really don’t feel well.” Buffy jumped from her chair making a dash for the
bathroom. Spike grabbed the bottle and slammed it back on the table. It was no
use getting drunk he was well and truly screwed.
Buffy withdrew the paper napkin from her forehead and looked in the mirror. Her
upper lip perspired as she quickly wiped it away, her skin looked clammy. She
turned on the cold water and splashed her face.
“Why is this happening? I’m drawn to Spike; maybe it is the claim. If so what is
this going to mean?”
Questions bombarded her brain as she smoothed her hair. Her lips were still
swollen from Spike’s kisses. She touched her lips lightly a faint smile on her
face.
Spike waited outside pacing in front of the door, he was supposed to be the Big
Bad not waiting for a silly bint while she chucked up.
Buffy opened the bathroom door to see Spike leaning against the wall. Her hand
still gripped to frame as she breathed slowly.
“Well that’s the first time that’s happened. What did I have onion breath?”
Buffy looked up and gave a weak smile.
“Come on we need to talk to Giles.” Spike frowned as she pulled on his collar
leading him out of the bar.
Chapter 9:
Buffy and Spike walked through Sunnydale, neither of them wanting to talk
about the kiss in the bar. Spike sneakily cast glances at Buffy and noticed she
was biting her bottom lip.
“What made you kiss me Buffy?” She turned to him as he stopped. This was the
first time he called her by her name.
“Huh…well I don’t know why. But it’s like you’re pulling on the string and I
can’t stop. You know how loathsome it is to want you?” Buffy looked away knowing
she had revealed too much in her eyes.
Spike stood there and ground his teeth. He reached into his pocket for his
cigarettes if his hands were free he would rip out her heart from her chest. He
cigarette illuminated in the night as she stalked off down the street.
“Where are you going.?
“Getting rid of this bloody claim.”
Buffy rolled her eyes and ran after him a pissed off vampire was so not a good
thing. She was starting to realise that Spike was getting under her skin and she
couldn’t have that that. He was a killer for over 100 years no person could
change after being evil for that long.
She was confused they needed to get to Giles’s and quickly before she really
wanted to act on her feelings.
Giles sat in his chair nursing a cup of tea in his cold hands, his watcher diary
resting on the coffee table. He picked up the bottle and poured a minimal amount
of whiskey. He smiled as he brought the cup to his lips. A smile tugged at the
corners of mouth as he realised he was finally alone.
Although he was worried about Buffy being claimed to Spike. He knew she could
take care of herself.
Reaching over to the record player he placed the album and listened to the
guitar echoing through his apartment. Leaning his head back he closed his eyes
his cup resting between his fingers.
The cup slipped from his fingers as Giles fell into a deep sleep unaware of the
fighting vampire and slayer outside his door.
“How dare you say that. I’m not frigid.” Spike just raised his eyebrow
sardonically in response. He reached and placed his hand on Buffy’s hip and she
quickly swatted it away with her hand.
“Do you really think I want your filthy paws on me.” She crossed her arms. Spike
leaned forward his lips barely touching her ear lobe.
“The thing is slayer you loved it when my hands moved over your skin. My lips
trailing kisses down your throat and across your breasts.” Buffy’s cheeks flamed
as Spike’s breath caused a cold shiver down her spine.
She shouldn’t be thinking about this she liked Angel, he was the one she was
meant to be with. But being in this close proximity to Spike she was beginning
to wonder.
Buffy’s hands moved to rest on his chest her intent was to push him backward.
Her eyes stared at his lower lip, her tongue absentmindedly licking her own. His
blue eyes connected to hers a thousand words conveyed in that one look. He
growled softly as his lips reached hers.
Her hands caressed his chest gliding around to his back underneath his duster.
The slayers hot little hands touched his skin and he pulled her closer, moaning
into his mouth Buffy leaned in closer.
Spike was aware of movement in the apartment the porch light switched on and
Buffy and Spike jumped apart. Buffy quickly checked herself straightened her
shoulders, and turned to see Spike sporting a grin.
Giles opened the door to find Buffy and Spike looking anywhere else but each
other, rubbing his hair Giles moved to one side to let them in.
Buffy walked in followed closely by Spike, the vampire on the other hand
couldn’t move unable to get through the invisible barrier.
Giles looked up wondering why he wouldn’t come in. Blinking behind his glasses
he grinned.
“Ah sorry Spike, do come in.” Spike walked through the doorway and sat on the
chair his thumbs looping in his belt buckle.
“Can I ask what do I owe the pleasure?” Giles moved into the kitchen and filled
the teapot.
“Giles, we need to know what to expect from the claim. It’s becoming stronger
and we need to find out why.” Buffy stood tapping her foot
Giles placed the cups on the tray and carried them into the living room; he
poured three cups and sat back. Watching Buffy squirm in her seat as she re told
the events of the bar earlier that night.
“Well, that is I need to have a look in the archives on claming rights. I think
I have a
book upstairs, excuse me one moment” Giles ventured upstairs leaving
Buffy and Spike alone.
“So what has Angel had to say about the whole mating thing?” Buffy looked over
at Spike who had now sunk further into the chair.
“Nothing, he’s obviously pissed right now. But I have more important things like
this claim.” She motioned her hand between the two of them.
“You gotta admit though slayer. There was something there even before the whole
biting thing.”
Spike looked about the room spotting a bottle of scotch on the counter he pushed
himself away from the chair and retrieved the bottle.
Buffy watched as he sauntered over to the kitchen, taking off his duster he sat
back in the chair. His jeans stretching across his thighs accentuating his lean
frame.
Un screwing the cap he tipped the bottle back, Buffy watched his Adam’s apple
bob up and down. She had never noticed his forearms how they stretched against
the fabric of his T-shirt. She shook her head to relieve herself of these sordid
thoughts.
Spike smiled to himself he caught Buffy out of the corner of his eye. Maybe this
claim wouldn’t be a bad thing, with a bit of concentration he could have her
eating out of the palm of his hand.
Spike smiled to himself as Buffy shifted in her seat, looking anywhere else but
at Spike. Giles searched the bookshelf in his room; he reached for the diaries
and searched the pages.
He leafed through the book scanning each page for anything that resembled
vampire claiming. He had heard of claiming rights but for a vampire to claim a
slayer was unheard of.
Buffy’s eyes glazed over as Spike continued to stare at her, her fingers grasped
her knees as Spike leaned forward his pupils dilating. Buffy fell onto the floor
from her chair and crawled on her hands and knees towards Spike. Her eyes still
trained on his she moved between his legs and pushed them apart.
Her head fell onto his knee moving across his thigh her hair tickled across his
palm as he quickly looked down. Crawling up his body she settled across his lap
and kissed his earlobe,
Spike shuddered as her warm breath blew across his ear, he swallowed loudly as
her lips trailed down his throat and under his chin. He closed his eyes for a
moment as Buffy moved to straddle his hips. Leaning close she touched his mouth
lightly.
Their lips pressed together flesh moulding, her tongue licked across his bottom
lip before being allowed access. His right hand fisted in her hair while the
other reached under her shirt to fondle her breast.
Buffy’s fingers locked behind Spike’s neck bringing him closer, Buffy
surrendered to her inner feelings. But she couldn’t think properly as Spike’s
expert hands and his tongue sparked sensations coursing through her body.
An embarrassed cough echoed through the apartment and straight to Buffy and
Spike’s ears. They broke apart to find Giles red-faced and furiously cleaning
his glasses.
“When you two have finally finished, I think we may have found what we were
looking for.”
Buffy looked at Spike and fell on the floor from his lap, her eyes widened as
she realised hat she was doing. And from the grin that had graced his face, she
knew he had enjoyed it too.
Chapter 10
Spike continued to sneak glances at Buffy while Giles retold events of vampire
claims. She in turn kept her eyes trained on her watcher, after recovering from
their earlier setback.
“Well, I’m interested in what is happening. I mean from these diaries, no
previous vampire claims with a slayer have been recorded. However, a couple of
entries do mention vampire claims.”
Buffy looked over at Spike who had spilt alcohol down his chin. Noticing his
bottom lip, she licked her lips unconsciously. Shaking her head, she settled
back on the couch.
“Giles, what does it all mean; can we get rid of it?”
“Well Buffy, no, not really. These claims are the vampire equivalent of
soulmates.”
“Great,” she muttered.
“Look Slayer, you’re not the only one that’s pissed about it. I mean I’m the Big
Bad and I’m mated with a bloody slayer.” He shook his head to relieve the
distaste that had suddenly formed in his throat.
“Oh I forgot, bad, evil vampire whatever shall I do?” She placed her hands
across her breasts and grinned.
“You think this is right bleeding funny don’t you? Well let’s just tell your
precious Watcher who actually bit who first.”
Buffy’s gasp fell from her mouth as Spike grinned; Giles stood immobile watching
the details of the claim unfold.
“Well you didn’t have to bite back.” They both stood up stepping towards each
other.
“What? I’m just gonna let you bite me and kiss me and not give you that much
pleasure and pain at the same time.”
“I was under a spell Spike, it wasn’t real.”
“Yes it bloody was. That night outside the club, when I introduced myself, I
know you felt something and the other night just proves it. I’d like you admit
to yourself there is something beyond the claim.”
Spike stood his ground as Buffy opened and promptly closed her mouth. The truth
was when she first met Spike she thought he was hot and mildly annoying. He
continued to stand there watching, suddenly time seemed to have moved slow as he
pulled her forward by her arms and kissed her hard against the lips.
Buffy succumbed to his kiss, bringing her arms around his back, feeling his
muscles flex on his back. Hearing Giles cough brought her back to reality with a
thump. She broke free and looked at Giles, her cheeks flushed.
“See Giles.” Spike turned and sat back in the chair.
She turned and sat back down crossing her arms in annoyance, watching as the
vampire in question sat smugly in the corner. She did feel it when Spike was
outside in that alleyway, how he carried himself with such arrogance. There was
something, although she had tried her best to deny it.
Angel was becoming more and more of a problem. She knew she had to talk to him.
Thinking about her impending conversation with Angel, her eyes locked on Spike’s
chest and noticed how the black cotton T-shirt clung to his defined muscles.
“I need some tea.” Giles walked to the kitchen and busied himself without
looking at the two occupants of the room.
“Why did you do that?” Buffy leaned forward and whispered.
“You need to realise that what we have isn’t magic. It’s real; you want me as
much as I want you.”
“Maybe I do want you. I can’t deny the fact.” Spike grinned as she smiled
slightly.
“But the fact remains, I’m with Angel. I need to talk to him and it’s not going
to be easy.” She frowned as Spike eyes clouded with anger.
“It’s always about the bloody poof, I swear it can’t be the hair.” Spike threw
his hands up in indignation.
“Spike stop babbling. I’m saying I want to try.” Spike looked at her coy smile
and calmed down. Maybe he was going to get one over the poof once and for all.
The moment the words came out of her mouth it felt like the right thing to say.
Spike on the other hand was shocked at her for actually admitting it.
Giles came back into the room and set the tea down on the table; pouring three
cups, he passed them each to Buffy and Spike.
“The entries of the diaries show the extensive research of the council. The
claiming includes being able to read each other’s thoughts, sensing the other
person’s distress, that kind of thing. Quite interesting, really.”
Giles flipped over the page as he sipped his tea, reading quietly unaware of the
looks the said two claimed occupants were sharing.
Buffy yawned and looked over at the clock on the wall noticing it was past
eleven. Sighing, she stretched and stood up to put on her coat.
“Going somewhere?” Spike looped his thumbs in his buckle and hitched his hips
forward. Buffy didn’t miss the innuendo and turned away before she blushed
anymore that night.
“I have to get home, school tomorrow. I think we have found out quite a bit
about the whole claiming thing.”
“See you tomorrow Giles.” She waved and stood by the door.
“Spike.” He looked up and watched as the Slayer motioned with her head that it
was now time to leave.
“Huh right. Bye Watcher.” Giles stood up and walked them both to the door;
watching as they disappeared through the courtyard and out into the night.
They walked quietly down the street their hands touching each other’s lightly;
Spike grazed her fingers with his hand. Buffy felt jolts of electricity as his
fingers laced with hers.
“This is so crazy. Last week I wanted to kill you and then this week all I want
to do is kiss you.” Spike turned and stopped at Buffy’s admission.
“You want to kiss me?”
“Well yeah, maybe we should change the subject.” She flustered suddenly
embarrassed.
“I don’t think we should change the subject. These feelings are strong, I mean I
haven’t even claimed Dru and we have been together for over a 100 years.”
“Why did you have to mention that ho? Do you think I like being reminded you
have this special connection that I can’t even begin to understand. After
admitting everything tonight, you had to bring her into the equation?” She
growled and threw up her hands in mid- air and ran off down the street.
He stood there shocked. Only a moment ago they were holding hands, and now she
had switched personalities. She was jealous. Although this was a good thing, it
certainly wasn’t now that he had to chase after a very pissed off slayer.
Clenching the muscles in his cheek, he took off after her, his duster billowing
behind him. Buffy’s cheeks puffed as she ran along the street. Taking a
shortcut, she took a left and ran through the cemetery.
Spike inhaled the air as her scent suddenly disappeared; he closed his eyes and
saw her running through the cemetery. Buffy stopped and sat on a tombstone
trying to regain her breath.
The hairs on the back of her neck tingled and her neck straightened. “Spike, I’m
not ready to talk to you.”
Turning round she was shocked it wasn’t Spike. Angel stood there, his features
clouded.
“Good, because I think we need to talk Buffy”
