Caitlin Campbell was a senior at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee when the essay was written. She is now a student at Tufts University. Richard Campbell is Director of the School of Journalism at Middle Tennessee State University. He is the author of 60 Minutes and the News: A Mythology for Middle America (1991) and Media and Culture: An Introduction to Mass Communication (2000) and co-author (with Jimmie Reeves) of Cracked Coverage: Television News, the Anti-Cocaine Crusade, and the Reagan Legacy (1994). |
