Susan R. Fisher is a librarian and SGML developer working at the University of Alberta on The Orlando Project, an integrated history of women's writing in the British Isles. Her research interests include developing markup schemes for knowledge representation in the humanities, assessing the institutional impact of computer technology on universities, and monitoring the changes in the female-intensive profession of librarianship as it is radically transformed by emerging information technologies.
