Neal King is Associate Professor of Humanities and Women's Studies at Virginia Tech. He is author of Heroes in Hard Times: Cop Action Movies in the U.S., and co-editor of Reel Knockouts: Violent Women in the Movies. He studies media violence and regrets its effects on his cats, who set a poor example for the rest of us.
