William P. MacNeil is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Co-Director of the Socio-Legal Research Centre, Faculty of Law, Griffith University. A Canadian by birth, Dr. MacNeil was educated at Dalhousie University, University College London and Columbia University, and has worked or taught at the London School of Economics and Political Science and the Faculty of Law, University of Hong Kong. He came to Australia in 1998, and teaches Jurisprudence, Criminal Law and Legal Fictions at the Griffith Law School. In 2001-2002, he was the Loewenstein Visiting Fellow in Jurisprudence at Amherst College, Amherst Mass., USA. Dr. MacNeil has published extensively on jurisprudence, legal history and cultural legal studies, and is currently completing a book on representations of law in popular culture around the common law world. |
