Art Pomeroy  is professor of classics at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. He is the author of The Appropriate Comment. Death Notices in the Classical Historians (Peter Lang 1991) and Arius Didymus, Epitome of Stoic Ethics, (Scholars Press 1999). His at work on a book on classics in cinema/film: Classic on the Large and Small Screen (under contract from Duckworth for 2004).
