Buffy Scholar/Critic

Patrick Porter is a Postgraduate student in the Cinema Studies and New Media Program at The University Of Melbourne where he also teaches. He is currently writing a Masters thesis which focuses on Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s nostalgic and anticipatory elements and their function in the formation of the show’s cult following. His research interests include cult film and television, fandom, genre, queer theory, narratology and reader reception theory. He is also interested in animation, musicals, science fiction and fantasy.
