Michelle Wauchope works as a sessional lecturer and tutor in the School of Communication, Information and New Media for the University of South Australia. She is currently undertaking a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education through the Queensland University of Technology, and completing her UniSA Honours in Communications, focusing on the online social networks created by fan fiction writing communities. She helped organize and run the Staking a Claim Conference at UniSA in 2003.
