THE TERMINATOR. BtVS Intertext/Allusion.

"When She Was Bad" opens with Willow and Xander playing a game of "Name the Movie," quoting famous lines from movies:

Xander: It's your turn.

Willow: I, alright, okay, uh... 'In the few hours that we had together, we loved a lifetime's worth.'

Xander: Terminator.

Willow: Good! Great.

And in "This Year's Girl" Buffy describes Adam to Willow as "the Terminator without the bashful charm."

The Terminator is a 1983 science fiction film directed by James Cameron which tells the story of a cyborg-assassin (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role that would make him a star)--the hired-gun of the ruling machines of a future, post-nuclear holocaust Earth, intent upon extermination of their creator, teleported back to the present in order to murder Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), the mother-to-be of a man who, in the next century, will lead a successful human revolt against the planet's total mechanization. The line quoted by Willow, spoken by Sarah Connor, speaks of her relationship with Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn), the soldier also sent back in a time machine to protect her against The Terminator. They make love in their few hours together, resulting in the birth of John Connor, the future leader of the human resistance against the machines.
