I.

The blond vampire opened his eyes. She´d fallen asleep. Her breath came in long, gentle sighs and her heart pumped steadily. He lifted himself on one arm and turned to gaze at the human. His fingers were around her wrists. In black and blue. His face became more withdrawn, mouth firmly clamped shut. He got off the bed and reached into a pocket. The pack was semi-empty...he always smoked more around the bird. Before he could stop himself, he glanced at her again. Her body stretched out, very naked and very slender, crowned by a sunset of hair that even now spoke of warmth and magic. She was life. He was death. She was what kept him on the Hellmouth. No memories, no easy meals, no lofty ambitions to kill the Slayer. He´d gladly do it given half a chance but hunting her down was out of the question. He felt sick of the whole thing. His thumb moved on the lighter and he sucked in the smoke.

Picking up the white nightdress, Spike looked at the redhead. He suddenly sat her up, listening to her childlike mumbles. She addressed people in her sleep, saying what she´d meant to say during the day.

< Too late, pet. >

Quickly he pulled the garment over her head and watched as it slid down her skin, a smirk deepening on his concentrated face. His hands smoothed invisible creases away, taking longer than necessary. Desire grew.

< God... >

The way it felt between her legs, inside her throat...Spike let go of Willow and unzipped his pants. One hand gripped the edge of the mattress, the other rubbed back and forth in a frenzied rhythm. Eyes were dark as they travelled all over the girl. Pain shot through his arm but he didn´t stop until he felt a scream inside his mouth. Doubling over, he gasped. And came.

Still reeling, the vampire slowly fell to his knees, gaze at a level with Willow´s face. She gradually woke up and stared at him. For a long time. He stared back, cocky and entertained.

"Spike...", she said huskily, "I´ve got school tomorrow..."

He tilted his head. "And...?"

Her eyes were green and huge.

"Are you moving in?" Her sleepy voice gained the contours of alarm.

He shrugged and slumped onto the bed next to her. "What if I were?" His tone indicated freedom. He didn´t need her approval.

"No!", she snapped, "Tests, marks, future...parents!" She was breathless. "They may come back at any time!"

He tossed her a glance. "Don´t bloody lie to me. I don´t take it kindly.", he retorted sharply. "Gone for a month, we´ll call everyday, do your homework, Willow." He mimicked Mrs Rosenberg. Willow froze. Spike turned her face towards his. "I´m social services. So behave." He was perfectly serious.

"I need to go to the bathroom.", she said. He didn´t move. "Spike...let go.", she angrily glared at his profile. He acted surprised then very slowly untangled his body from hers, touching everywhere twice.

Willow slipped outside her bedroom, leaving the door ajar. If she locked Spike in, she´d live to regret it. Or not. It was becoming too much for her to handle. Nobody knew he was around but he knew everything that went on.

Buffy, Faith, Xander, her parents, Oz...Oz had been cutting school for weeks now. He´d been cutting her as well, though on the surface they were still a model couple. Loving and together...and apart. She was Willow, she´d always be there. In case he came back and needed her. For...what? Sex? She had the feeling he got that elsewhere, and it slashed her like a piece of broken glass.

It was all Spike´s fault...it had to be. Everything was Spike´s fault. He´d crushed her normal world to tiny bits. A voice in her head objected, saying Faith wasn´t Spike´s fault. But even then she couldn´t believe it. Faith was evil, or semi-evil. Just like Spike. They´d destroy each other if she so much as...Willow frowned. Then grew determined.

Glancing over her shoulder, she noiselessly made her way downstairs.

III.

No, not Faith. Buffy was the means to this particular end. It didn´t matter that she hadn´t listened. Nothing like that mattered now. The house was in complete darkness and Willow decided not to switch on the light. Moving forwards hesitantly, she began to shiver.

< I can do this...it´s easy...and right...Buffy´s awake... >

Her hand reached for the phone. And clutched empty air.

"Keen on detours, are we?" Spike threw the receiver across the room.

She couldn´t see where he was. Playing cat-and-mouse again.

"Very subtle with the lying though. I´ll give you that." He was furious.

Willow backed away until she felt the couch. "What are you going to do...?", she asked. More pain...she could deal with that, no problem. She´d already done it. Quite successfully. He´d never win.

"Oh I dunno. Whatever it is, I´ll start with your little pal Xander. Then the librarian...then perhaps Wolf-Boy. If he ever shows his mug around here again." The list was given casually as if he didn´t care either way.

A sob rose to Willow´s throat. "No...", she whispered. He´d do it. He´d kill them...he´d find a way.

"No?", he mocked.

"No. Don´t do it."

He had cornered her. "Why not, pet? Hell, maybe that´ll get your attention. Since all else has failed."

A tear rolled down her face. "Don´t kill them...please...Spike..." She could barely breathe.

"Strange. I was under the impression you didn´t give a toss.", he said brightly. "Being busy with the bloody phone and all!" He grabbed her by the shoulders.

Willow started to sob. "Oh God, don´t kill them...don´t kill them...", she repeated unendingly.

"So you don´t want them to die? Not even the sodding wolf?...cause to be honest I need the action and my mates...well, they´ll lap it up.", he confessed with a laugh.

"NO! I DON´T WANT ANYONE TO DIE! LEAVE THEM ALONE!", she screamed.

"And what will you do, sweet?", he spat, shaking her until her teeth rattled. She couldn´t speak. He slapped her. "WHAT WILL YOU DO, WILLOW?!!"

The girl stared numbly into the dark. "Anything."
