Angel watched Cordelia as she walked around her apartment covering the windows. She had insisted that he stay with her until he found another place to live. He didn't have the heart to refuse. If he were being honest with himself, he'd admit that he couldn't have refused. He didn't want to let her out of his sight. He had come so close to losing her. He didn't even want to think about what would have happened if he had failed. If he had been unable to retrieve the scroll. He shook his head, willing the images to go away.

The terror he had felt watching her in hospital, it was almost incapacitating. He never thought he would need some one as much as he needed her. She was more than his secretary. More than a research assistant. More than his seer. She was all of those things but so much more. She was more than his friend. She didn't know what she was exactly. All he knew was that he needed her.

Her smile could brighten up his dark office. Her special brand of Cordelia logic could make him see things he'd never considered. The ability she had to bring him out of one of his brooding moods never ceased to amaze him. He couldn't imagine having to face a future without her in it. The very idea was painful.

"What?" Cordelia's voice broke him of his spiraling thoughts.

"Hmm?" He asked.

"You were brooding." Cordelia told him as she approached him. "No brooding allowed. You should be happy. We should celebrate." She smiled that smile that always made him feel as though he were drowning.

"I wasn't." He managed to deny.

"You were." She arched an eyebrow at him. She sat down across from him at the table. "What were you thinking about?"

He stared at her, not wanting to tell her what he was thinking about. Somehow voicing his thought made them that much more real. Telling her how scared he had been would let her see how weak he really was.

"Well?" She demanded.

"This was my fault." Angel told her, knowing that that wasn't exactly what he had been thinking about, but it didn't make it any less true.

"How do you figure. You didn't put me in the hospital. That demon did" Her eyes brightened. "And speaking of that, he owes me some art supplies!"

Angel was confused. "What?"

"Nevermind." She reached out across the table for his hand and squeezed it tightly. "I'm fine. Wesley's fine."

"But if it wasn't for me… for your visions…" He trailed off.

"And what? You gave me my head-splitting headache visions? I don't think so."

Angel couldn't argue with her logic. Aside from the fact that she was making sense, he didn't relish the idea that she would try and beat some sense into him.

"Just think," Cordelia continued, oblivious to Angel's train of thoughts. "You're going to be human." She smiled brightly. "Okay so not for a really long time, and you could get killed before then…" She waved her hand at the thought. "But let's not dwell on that!"

Cordelia stood up and pulled Angel to his feet. "Come on."

"Where are we going?"

Cordelia shrugged. "Who knows? It's still early. We're still alive, well one of us is." She grinned at him. "We're going to celebrate!" She started to drag him out of the building.

"Delia?"

"Hmm?"

"What was that about art supplies?"
