Summary: Cordelia finds an unexpected dance partner.
Cordelia hesitated at her doorway, her keys half in, half out of the lock and turned back to Giles. She was about to ask him if he was sure about this but when she saw the look in his eyes, she forgot the question. She slid the keys fully into the lock and opened the door, flicking the lights on. Giles followed her into her apartment.
It was completely different to how he expected it to be, decorated in a similar Spanish style to his home in Sunnydale but more luxurious. Her graduation scroll from Sunnydale, her cheerleading trophies and a frame full of photos sat on the top shelf of a book case which was otherwise stuffed with books. He took a closer look at them as Cordelia headed into the kitchen. Classics, some history books, a poetry book or two and some modern fiction. He carried on looking round and saw all the things that Cordelia loved to have around her. There was a photo of Cordelia and Angel, one of Wes and one of Angel, Cordelia and Wes. They had silly hats on and were holding up sticks of candyfloss, obviously at a fair of some kind. How had she ever managed to persuade Angel into that hat? And Angel's smile, not at the camera, was at Cordelia. It was loving and protective and Giles felt a surge of jealously run through him followed by a feeling of guilt.
In the kitchen Cordelia spoke rapidly to Dennis, terrified he was going to be up to his normal tricks when she brought men home.
"Dennis. I don't want any of your tricks tonight OK? This guy is a friend. Maybe more than a friend. He is not going to mess me around like everyone else does OK? That means no loud music, no flashing lights, no pulling the covers. OK?"
The lights flashed once, yes. Cordelia gave Dennis, wherever he was, a big smile.
"You're a champ. And yes, I had a great time at the party."
The fridge opened and a bottle rattled inside.
"Champagne? Are you sure?" Cordelia felt nervous all over again but she had always liked champagne and it might calm her nerves a little.
She came out of the kitchen holding two champagne flutes and handed one to Giles who took it and sipped. The bubbles hit his tongue and ran down his throat, fizzing all the way. He knew the taste of this, Moet, and it was one of his favourites. He did not drink in Sunnydale. Buffy had only ever seen him drunk once, maybe twice, and it had scared her so badly he had never done so again. But here, with Cordelia, it was different. She was not frightened of him and was quite capable of handling her alcohol. She had seen him looking at the group picture and moved past it to pick it up.
"It was Angel's birthday. We picked one out for him because he wouldn't tell us when his was. We went out for dinner and then to the fair at the pier. Did you know he doesn't like rollercoasters?" she turned to him smiling. "Neither did we until we took him on one. I think he would have thrown up if he could have done."
Giles chuckled at the thought of Angel turning green with sickness.
"It was a good night. We'd had a couple of rough cases and we needed a night off. He doesn't like candyfloss though."
"You and Angel are close now?" Giles asked, taking another sip of the champagne.
"I guess. We've seen sides of each other which haven't been pretty. Plus we've saved each other a bunch of times. And he has great taste in clothes. A gay man's taste you might say." Cordelia put the picture now and turned to Giles, a serious look on her face "But we don't love each other. He still adores Buffy. He'll deny it until he's blue in the face but there could never be anyone else for him."
"And you?" Giles asked setting down his glass and reaching out to her, taking the glass from her.
"Me? I haven't the best luck in the world with men." Cordelia allowed him to pull her close, feeling his hands slide around her. She felt a frission of excitement run up her spine. Giles bent his head close to hers and whispered in her ear.
"Your luck has just changed."
He stepped away from her, leaving Cordy feeling bereft, but simply handed her the champagne back and picked up his own. Cordelia realised what he had in mind and took his hand and led him through to the bedroom. Dennis had obviously realised that Cordy was quite serious about the non interference thing. He had lit two candles, either side of her bed, and there was the radio playing quietly to itself in the corner.
"Dennis" Cordelia smiled.
"Dennis?" Giles was confused.
"My ghost. Don't worry about it. He's cool." Cordelia gave Giles another smile "I'll explain another time."
Giles answered her by taking the champagne from her and setting both glasses on the table near the bed and turning his attention back to her. Cordelia caught her breath, unsure of what he had in mind and for a moment her common sense voice screamed out in her "This is Giles! What the hell do you think you're doing?" but any more common sense was drowned out by the touch of Giles' lips upon hers. Soft and gentle and tasting of champagne and whiskey he had been drinking earlier. He swirled his tongue into her mouth, tickling the top of her mouth and she responded, lifting her hands to his face and stroking his tongue with hers. The gentle kiss that Giles had intended, to give Cordelia every chance to say no if she wanted to, turned at her touch into a more passionate embrace.
Cordelia's hands ran down his body and slipped inside his jacket, sliding it from his shoulders and down his arms. His shirt was next, her fingers deftly pulling it free from his trousers and undoing it. His skin was warm and smooth beneath her hands. Had he always been this toned? This fit? Surely she would have noticed but her attention was diverted as his hands went on their own voyage of discovery, sliding down her body and cupping her to him.
Giles moved his mouth from Cordelia's and showered kisses along her jawline, down her throat and round to the juncture of her neck and shoulder. Cordelia couldn't help the slight intake of breath as she felt his teeth scrape her skin. Her head fell back allowing him access to the whole of her throat and neck. Her hands were wandering across his bare back, along his muscular shoulders and back into his hair.
Giles continued to kiss his way along Cordelia's shoulder, pushing the strap of her dress out of his way and then eventually sliding it down her arm. His lips moved back up to her mouth and slid the other strap from her shoulder. The dress fell softly to the floor, pooling silky around her feet. His hands roamed possessively over her body, feeling the fullness of her breasts press against them. He slid his hands down over her flat stomach, feeling the ripple of her skin that told him where her scar was, and continued down, skimming the top of the tiny scrap of lace that called itself underwear.
Cordelia could feel him against her, knowing how much he was enjoying this. No one had ever touched her so tenderly and knowledgeably. Moving on instinct, Cordelia stepped back until she felt the bed against the back of her knees and sat down looking up at him. Giles knelt before her, running his hands through her hair and then down over her shoulders and paused at her breasts.
He bent his head and took one nipple tenderly into his mouth. Cordelia couldn't help the whimper that escaped her and she felt him smile against her hot skin. With his hand, he moulded her other breast, caressing it until Cordelia felt her senses reel. He switched his attention to the other nipple, sucking until it stood proud and hard as the other one. Cordelia's hands were cradling his head, stroking his neck and sliding down across his broad back.
Giles continued the loving descent of her body, one firm hand pushing her back until she was lying on her bed. He took in her form, her tousled hair, the warm cheeks and lips, her eyes wide with longing, her breasts firm and high and the nipples flushed dark with blood. Her underwear was soft cream silk, setting off her tanned skin. She tasted sweet, of honey and Giles stretched out his hand, picking up the glass half full of champagne and tipped the cold liquid over her breasts making her gasp but still she lay there, loving every minute of his attentions. He bent his head again, lapping the fizzy liquid from her skin, his tongue now firm and rough against her breasts, his hands more sure of themselves. He elicited a moan from Cordelia as he nibbled her nipples and she slid her hands down to his shoulders trying to pull him back up to her mouth for more kisses. Giles took her hands and held them firmly above her head with one hand as he slid the other hand down her body to her lacy pants. He watched her face as her eyes opened languorously to meet his gaze.
His fingers slid down and felt the dampness between her legs. It was the work of a moment to rip the pants from her hips, leaving her completely naked beside him. She was shaven completely bare and he had never been so turned on at the sight of anything before. The blush flared across her cheeks as she realised her vulnerability but as his fingers slid down between her thighs, Cordelia closed her eyes and allowed him to have his way.
"Keep your hands there Cordelia" Giles said quietly in her ear. She nodded once and he released her hands, and sat back, taking in the beautiful sight of this girl stretched out across the bed, waiting, aching for his touch.
She felt the pressure on the bed change as he stood up and then gasped as his mouth descended upon her stomach, trailing kisses down, across her scar and down her hips. All she could feel was the heat of his mouth and as he reached the inside of her thigh she could not help but part her legs so he could continue with his loving touch. Giles' low laugh reached her ears but all she did was stretch herself out a little more, rubbing herself against him. His mouth continued its exploration of her inner thigh and then she felt his breath upon her and the pressure of his hands pushing her legs wider still. His mouth on her pussy was heaven itself and Cordelia moved against his mouth, pushing her hips up to meet him.
The sudden chill of the champagne which was tipped over her was unexpected and Giles' tongue was quickly inside her, moving fast and hard. The feeling in Cordelia's groin began to grow and she lowered her hands, resting them on Giles' head.
"Don't stop" she whimpered as he pulled away from her. His hands were on her wrists and he lifted them away from his head. She pulled her hands free, bringing them down to rest on her breasts, stroking each nipple firmly. Giles lowered his head and took up where he had left off.
The pleasure began to build again and Cordy couldn't smother the moans that were escaping her. Giles slid two fingers within her stroking her urgently until she came hard against him, calling his name, gasping for breath.
He did not allow her the chance to catch her breath, moving and covering her slender body with his own, kissing her deeply. Cordelia could taste the champagne mixed with herself on his lips and it was oddly arousing.
Now there was a sense of urgency and Giles allowed Cordelia to roll them over, until she sat across his waist. She pulled at his trousers, tugging them off, following them with his boxer shorts. Her eyes widened slightly at the size of the penis that sprang free but she lowered her head took him in her mouth. Giles, slightly shocked at how quickly things had moved into Cordelia's control, felt the hot wetness of her mouth upon him. God, how had been since he had been like this with a woman? And Cordelia of all people. She withdrew her mouth and treated him to the same champagne shower, licking him from the base of his cock to the sensitive tip - the feeling made his toes curl and he desperately tried to remember the names of the England rugby team, anything that would keep his control for a moment longer. Cordy paused for a moment and saw the look on Giles' face.
She flipped one long tanned leg across him, straddling him, and waited until she had his full attention. Giles gazed up at her and watched, dry mouthed, as she slid down on to him. The feeling of being inside her was amazing and it was all he could do not to lose control that second.
Cordelia, slid her legs outward a little further so she could encompass the whole of him within her. She looked down at him and gave him the most beautiful sexual smile he had ever seen and slowly, very slowly, began to move, his hands, resting on her hips.
Her hands began at her hair, pushing it back from her face, and then slid down, stroking each breast in turn, lifting first one and then another to her lips. They continued further down as she moved faster, his hands pulling her rhythmically, until one hand was playing with herself and the other rested on his chest for support. Giles and Cordelia moved together rapidly, out of time with each other at first and then suddenly they found their timing.
Giles abruptly caught Cordelia's hands, shaking her out of her second orgasm and, with a easy twist of his hips, flipped them both over without leaving her, and began to move within her again. Cordelia's long legs came around his waist, locking together in the small of his back and he paused for a moment, pulling her arms above her hand and taking a firm hold of each hand. Her face was turned up to his and he lowered his head, taking her mouth firmly in his.
They came together, crying each other's name's into the other's mouth, and lay there, breathing hard.
"Oh god" Cordelia said. She moved beneath him, pulling herself free so he could collapse beside.
"Oh god" Giles lay there for a moment, before rolling on to his side and pulling Cordelia close to him. She turned her head to look at him and he returned the anxiously until a broad smile swept across Cordelia's face.
"That was pretty amazing. For an old guy."
"I thought so." Giles stroked her face "You are an amazing woman Cordelia Chase."
"You're not too bad yourself Giles." Her face darkened for a moment "Do you mind me calling you Giles? Do you prefer Rupert? Or Ripper?"
"I like Giles just fine. Do you like Cordelia?"
"Well what else would you call me?" Cordelia giggled "I don't have any nicknames anymore worth shouting out."
Giles regarded her seriously "I can think of some. Beautiful, lovely, amazing."
To his surprise Cordelia blushed deep red. Her relationship with Xander had never involved compliments and Angel and Wes weren't in the habit of complimenting her. People tended to assume that Cordelia knew how beautiful she was. At High School this had been true but since moving to LA her self esteem had dropped several points, especially with the continual rejection from her auditions. To have this man, this man who had known her at her ultimate bitch state, obviously want her and for him to say these things to her… it was almost enough to…
"Why, Cordelia you're crying." Giles was horrified "What did I say?"
"Nothing" she sniffed "you said everything right. It's just me."
He stared at her in horror, her big brown eyes welling up with tears and pulled her close, holding her until the sniffles stopped. He stroked her hair affectionately until her breathing eased and quietened.
"Cordelia, you are one of the most beautiful people I've ever met. You've grown into a stunning woman. One that I couldn't keep my hands off. You have nothing to be ashamed of."
Cordelia sat up and wiped the tears away, angry that she had let her emotions get the better of her.
"I know. It's just that you were so amazing and now you're being so kind. I guess I'm not used to it."
She gave herself a shake, mentally and physically.
"I'm going to have a shower" she said climbing out of her bed. She paused at the doorway to her bathroom and glanced back at Giles. He lay sprawled across her bed, his head rest on his hands, watching her in complete adoration.
"What?" she asked embarrassed.
"I don't think I've ever seen anything so lovely."
Cordelia felt the blush return and stepped into the bathroom before he could see it.
The scented warmth of the water in her shower helped return some perspective to her muddled mind and the common sense she had ignored earlier came back with a vengeance. She stepped out of her shower and wrapped a towel around her. Returning to the bedroom she found the bed empty.
For a moment, her stomach dropped to her feet until Giles padded back through the door, dressed only in his boxer shorts. He caught the anxious look on her face as it faded and grinned.
"I was hungry." He offered her the plate which was full of toast spread with cream cheese. "Did you think I was going to shag and run?"
"You wouldn't be the first" Cordy said, settling herself back on the bed and selecting a piece of toast.
"Cordelia Chase, you should know me better than that" he chided her.
After the warm shower and the food Cordelia felt the tiredness creep up on her. She pulled off her towel and snuggled herself down into her bed, Giles sliding in beside her and pulling her close so that she was pillowed on his chest. He blew out the remaining candle, the other one had burned out hours ago, and they lay there in silence for a while.
"Giles?"
"Cordelia?"
"What happens now?"
