Part 28 - Honored

Faith laughed at the little slayer's sputtering. "B, you okay there?
You look like you're about to blow a gasket."

"Faith.. I can't believe you!" Buffy brought her hands up to cover
the younger girl's chest.

"B, whatcha doin'? Your boobs are out for everyone to see! Somethin'
wrong with my rack?!" Faith arched an eyebrow, teasingly.

"Nooo. That's not it. It's just... it's just that... Well, dammit
Faith! You're my girlfriend! And I don't like you showing your
goodies to whoever wants to look!" Buffy ranted, standing on her
tiptoes in an effort to be eye level Faith.

The brunette chuckled. "B, you're jealous? That's hilarious! I'm
supposed to be the crazy one not you." She smiled as she bent to kiss
Buffy.

"No! No! No! I don't think it's cute. Put your shirt back on!" The
little slayer scowled, crossing her arms and waiting.

"Make up your mind." Faith shook her head as she picked her shirt
back up and put it on. "First you tell me to go with it then you get
pissed. I don't get you. But hell, what's new?!" The dark slayer
grumbled as she walked away from her.

"Faith.. please." Buffy held out her hand.

"Yeah." The younger girl rolled her eyes and took her hand. "So are
we going to go kill this demon or what?"

"Yes. We just have to find it's lair. Can you ask Elei about this
Caliki-guy?" Buffy pointed at the boy. "It seems like you two found a
way to communicate."

"He's a good kid. I like him." Faith grinned as she sauntered back
over to the boy. "Elei, we need your help." The boy stood proudly and
nodded. "Where is this Caliki-guy?"

Elei took Faith's hand and they set off toward the jungle. Buffy ran
over and grabbed her sword, handing Mr. Peepers to the man in the
head dress. "Will you watch him, please? His name is Mr. Peepers."

The man gently took the baby monkey. "Sr. Peep-ers... Peepers?" [Mr.
Peep-ers... Peepers?]

"Yep. Take care of him please. He might be hungry." Buffy kissed him,
and he began to fuss. "No, you're staying here. Now be a good little
monkey." The blonde ran off into the jungle. "Faith! Elei! Wait up!"

.......................

The boy gestured toward the cave and held up the dagger Faith had
given him. The brunette stepped forward. "Okay kid, stay back. B,
it's in here. I can feel it."

"Me too." Buffy crept in behind Faith. "Ewww... it stinks in here."

"I'd guess that to be the reason." Faith pointed. On the floor of the
cave were half eaten villagers.

"Oh god, that's disgusting! We are so going to kill this thing!"

"Yup." Faith whispered unsheathing her sword. "B..." She motioned to
her left. Buffy nodded and moved in that direction. They could hear a
hissing sound.

"Oh yuck! I hate these! Argh!" The little blonde growled out in
frustration. "It's a snake thingy! Why are they always snake
thingies?! I hate snakes!" Buffy shouted as she swung her sword. The
beast darted out and knocked her back.

"Holy shit!" Faith gasped as the demon slithered toward Buffy. "Hey
you! Yeah, you!.. Ugly snake thing, get your ass over here!" The
brunette slung the crossbow down with one hand and fired. She nailed
it in the throat but it barely slowed him down.

Buffy hopped to her feet. "Caliki-guy!"

The giant snakeman turned quickly to face her.

"That's right! We know your name. We've been sent here to shut you
down. The buffet is closed!" She did a spinning kick knocking him
back as Faith jumped on him and slammed her sword into the top of his
head. He bucked her off.

"Elei! Dagger!" Faith shouted to the boy who was still peering into
the cave. He immediately tossed Faith the dagger and she plunged it
into the demon's eye. The beast let out a shrill scream and fell
back.

That was the opening that Buffy needed. She wielded the sword
expertly chopping the demon in half. It squealed and fell to the
ground twitching.

Buffy walked over and helped Faith to her feet. "Well, I guess that's
it." She dusted Faith off and kissed her. "Good fight."

The brunette grinned. "Piece of cake."

"Not exactly my sentiment. But we got the job done." Buffy and Faith
stepped from the cave to be greeted by a very excited Elei.

"Goddesses do Oh, você f4-lo. Você derrotou a besta grande, Caliki-
guy." [Oh goddesses, you have done it. You have defeated the great
beast, Caliki-guy.]

"Yeah, no sweat." Faith handed the boy the dagger. "Here you can
keep this... a souvenir."

The boy's eyes lit up as he excepted the gift. He rushed into the
cave.

"Elei, where are you going?" Buffy moved to stop him, but Faith held
her back.

"Let him."

Elei returned from the cave dragging the demon's severed head. Faith
chuckled. "Kid, ya need help with that?" She picked up the trophy for
him. "C'mon."

...................

When they returned to the village, the slayers were amused by the
site that greeted them. Mr. Peepers was sitting on the chair of
honor. The natives had fashioned a tiny crown of flowers for him and
he wore a small grass skirt.

The villagers were beating their drums and dancing about while the
baby monkey sat watching and eating.

"Look at that B. Betcha he doesn't want to leave with us." Faith
teased her.

The little blonde frowned and marched over to pick him up. She had to
smile at his tiny costume. He looked so cute, and he was so happy to
see her.

The villagers went silent when they saw the two slayers. Faith handed
Elei the large snake head, and he dragged it to the center of the
village to the cheers of the natives.

"B, I kinda dig this hero stuff." The brunette laughed as several men
came forward and lifted her onto their shoulders carrying her around.

Buffy smiled at her girlfriend. "Get use to it, sweetie. When we get
home you're going to be one of the good guys."

"Oh yeah? I thought you liked me bad?" Faith joked as they set her
down.

"Faith!"

"I'm just joshin'! Geez B, lighten up." The dark slayer grabbed the
little blonde and gave her a long slow kiss.

"Faith." Buffy tried to back out of her arms. "They're all staring."
The small slayer blushed as she glanced at the fascinated natives.

"Yeah. So? B, I don't think they care."

Buffy took in their smiling faces. "You know I think you're right."

The man in the head dress stepped over to them. "Hoje à noite nós
teremos uma festa para nossos goddesses e Sr. Peepers. Apresse,
escave o poço e nós caçaremos um porco."
[Tonight we will have a feast for our goddesses and Mr. Peepers.
Hurry, dig the pit and we will hunt a pig.]

A cheer went up.

"What's that about?" Buffy turned to the brunette.

"Beats me." Faith shrugged.

The village became a scene of great activity. Elei rushed over the
slayers. "Oh os grandes, você irá na caça com nós?" [Oh Great Ones,
will you go on the hunt with us?]

"Kid, I don't know what you're asking?" Faith gave him a perplexed
look so Elei stepped back and tried miming a hunt. He even made a
squealing noise like a pig.

"Hunting? Go hunting? Oh, I get it. B, they want us to go hunting
with them." The brunette grinned turning to Buffy. "Whaddya say, B?
Want go kill something else?" Faith laughed when Buffy made a
distasteful face.

"No, Faith you know I don't like killing helpless little animals."

"You don't like killing them, but I'm guessing you'll be at the table
eatin' `em!" Faith smirked. She glanced at Elei. "Yeah kid. Count me
in. But B, will hang out with the women."

"Faith!" Buffy swatted at her in irritation. "Don't leave me by
myself."

"I'm not. You've got your sissy monkey to keep you company." The
younger slayer laughed as Buffy became more agitated.

"DON'T CALL HIM A SISSY!"

"B, he's wearin' a skirt." Faith pointed at the little monkey's
costume. Mr. Peepers looked down at the skirt and reached up to touch
his flowered crown. He liked being dressed up. It was what Buffy was
wearing. Mr. Peepers screeched and stuck his tongue out at Faith.

"Hey, would you look at that! The damn thing takes after you even.
It's a brat!" The brunette snorted as Buffy stuck her tongue out too.
She leaned forward and kissed the little blonde then picked her
crossbow and followed after Elei and the other men. "Have fun."

Buffy walked to the edge of the village with the other women. "Faith,
be careful. Please."

The brunette laughed. "B, we're hunting for pig. What could happen?"
Faith gave her a dimpled grin and a wave before disappearing into the
jungle.

Buffy looked at Mr. Peepers who had covered his eyes. "Yeah, I know
how you feel."

..............................

Part 29 - The Hunt

Faith hunched down next to Elei. "Okay kid, stick with me. I don't
care what B says. These damn pigs are mean lookin' little buggers."
The slayer grabbed the boy's hand. They circled back when the other
hunters signaled.

A squeal was heard and the natives let out a roar. The chase was on.
Elei shouted, excited. "Para A Fé Do Goddess!" [For the Goddess
Faith!] The other hunters chanted, and Elei was carried off with the
crowd.

"Shit! Elei!" Faith called out, rushing after them. There was a
scramble in the brush and everyone scattered. "Elei!" The brunette
looked around confused. *Where the hell did they all go?!*

Suddenly the bushes parted and an enormous wild boar charged toward
her. Faith froze for a minute in shock. This was no little
piggy. "Damn!" Before she could react Elei dove in front of her.

"Eu colocarei minha vida para você, goddess." [I will lay down my
life for you, Goddess.]

"Elei! NO!" Faith grabbed the boy and swung around, placing her body
between Elei and the boar. She screamed in agony as the boar's tusks
gored her. "FUCK!" She fell to her knees. Rolling to the side, she
threw Elei clear of the attack and reached up gripping the boar
behind the ears as it bit her. "Argh!"

The slayer patted the ground, feeling around for her sword as the
boar lowered his head and gored her stomach.

"You fucker!" Faith's hand touched the cold steel. She lifted the
sword quickly and slit the boar's throat. "Umph!" All the air was
knocked from her lungs as it collapsed on top of her.

Elei shouted in panic. "Ajuda! Ajuda!" [Help! Help!]

The other hunters came out off the brush and sped over to their
fallen goddess. They lifted the boar from the slayer. Faith looked up
at them and laughed. "Well, at least it's a big one."

She tried to stand but her legs gave out.

.............................

Buffy sat cross legged next to the other native women. They were
showing her how to make a lei. She sat with Mr. Peepers on her lap,
copying the nimble movements of their fingers. Soon she had fashioned
a reasonably pretty flower necklace. Buffy kissed the top of Mr.
Peeper's head.

"What do you think? Will Faithy like it?"

The baby monkey pulled it over his head and clapped. She laughed as
he climbed off her lap and sat next to her, crossing his legs trying
to imitate her. The little monkey reached for some flowers and began
weaving them into a necklace. He squeaked with excitement when he
finished. Jumping up, he placed it around her neck and hugged her.

"Awww... Mr. Peepers, you're so sweet." The blonde pulled the little
monkey into her arms rocking him gently. "But I'm still going to make
you take a nap." Mr. Peepers scrunched up his face and stuck out his
tongue. "Yeah, see if that gets you anywhere, Mister." Buffy laughed
as she carried him to the hut.

As she laid him on the pallet and tucked him in, she could hear
shouts from outside. *Faithy's back!* Buffy ran out thrilled.

The hunters were celebrating, carrying the enormous boar. Its legs
were tied to a stick that four men shouldered. They set it down near
the pit and let out a shout. "À fé grande do goddess!" [To the great
goddess Faith!]

Buffy gasped as she saw Faith stumble forward, smiling. The brunette
was covered in blood. "FAITH! OMIGOD, FAITHY!" Buffy cried as she
rushed forward and caught the younger slayer in her arms.

"Relax B! It's not my blood. It's the pigs." Faith chuckled,
struggling not to wince. She didn't want Buffy to know that she had
gotten hurt. After all, her parting words were, what could happen?

The brunette gingerly sat down with Buffy fussing over her. The women
prepared the tub, and Buffy gently stripped off Faith's clothes, not
caring who saw. She wanted to wash some of the gore off her fellow
slayer. She didn't belief that Faith was unhurt.

Sure enough, Buffy's hands brushed over the wounds. "Damn you, Faith!
You lied to me!"

"Not really... it was mostly the pig's blood." Faith shrugged,
wincing as Buffy roughly scrubbed the wound. "Easy there. It hurts
bad enough."

"I just wanted you to admit it. That's all, Faith." The blonde became
very gentle but still glowered at the younger girl. "You're not off
the hook yet though, missy."

...........................

Part 30 - The Feast

When Faith stepped from the tub, the native women wrapped a grass
skirt around her hips. Buffy chuckled. "Faithy, that looks so good on
you." She immediately placed a lei around the brunette's neck. "I
made this for you."

"Hey thanks B. It should go nicely with my gaping wounds." Faith
joked as she clutched at her side.

"Come on, pig hunter. Let's go to the hut and fix you up, but be
quiet. I just put Mr. Peepers down for his nap." Buffy warned,
leading the younger girl toward the hut.

"Damn, you're so fussy about that frickin' monkey! It's not like he's
a baby or somethin'." The brunette complained, slightly jealous.

"Faith, he is a baby... a baby monkey."

"Oh. Well, then that explains why he's so small." Faith shrugged as
Buffy looked back at her and laughed. "B, you should have seen him
when I came home without you. The little monster started freakin'. He
was throwing things and screeching up a storm."

Buffy chuckled. She knew the little monkey loved her.

"Oh by the way, he broke one of those stupid china dolls." Faith
announced as they entered the hut.

"Doggone it, Faith!"

"Shhhh... you'll wake the baby." Faith snickered, enjoying Buffy's
exasperated expression. "What?! He broke it."

"Yeah, and I bet you were really upset about that." The little slayer
replied sarcastically.

"No. Actually I laughed. I hate those damn dolls... told ya that."

"I know Faith. I was being facetious. Go sit over there and be
quiet." Buffy gestured to the other pallet before leaving the hut to
go get medical supplies... or whatever the natives used. She paused
just outside the door, considering whether to take Faith home. They
had a first aid kit there.

Elei came over with several of the women. They were carrying cloth
strips and several wooden cups filled with various pasty concoctions.
Elei bowed and turned indicating that the women wanted to enter the
hut.

The blonde stepped to the side and followed them in. Faith was laying
back on the pallet, and Mr. Peepers was perched over her touching her
wounds with great concern. He glanced up at Buffy and screeched.

"Yes, I know. Faithy's hurt. Come over here, sweetie. Let the nice
women fix her up." Buffy pulled the tiny monkey out of the way and
sat gritting her teeth while she watched the women stitch her
girlfriend up.

Faith turned her head to the side, groaning slightly. "Fuck! This
hurts more than that damn pig's horns!"

"I know Faith. But you have to let them do it. The cuts are too
deep." Buffy sat next to her and squeezed her hand. Mr. Peepers
reached down and gently patted Faith's head, his little simian eyes
filled with sympathy.

"The only consolation here, B is that we get to eat that evil pig!"

Buffy chuckled at Faith's ferocity. "Yes dear, we're going to eat
him. Don't you smell him cooking right now?"

Mr. Peepers clapped.

............................

The slayers sat in the chairs of honor. Mr. Peepers sat between them
in a tiny chair that the natives had just fashioned for him. He had
his own chair, and he got to wear a costume. The little monkey
couldn't be more thrilled. He squeaked and bounced around in his
chair as the natives placed dishes of pineapple and pork in front
them.

It all looked so delicious. Faith grinned at Buffy as the little
blonde gave her a dazzling smile. Even though her side hurt, the
brunette couldn't be happier. She bent forward and kissed the small
slayer to the cheers of the natives.

Mr. Peepers squeaked and covered his eyes while the man in the head
dress stood to propose a toast. "A nossos goddesses grandes. Nós
adoraremos suas beleza e bravura por toda a hora." [To our great
goddesses. We shall worship your beauty and bravery for all time.]

The other natives lifted their cups and drank. Buffy and Faith looked
at each other and shrugged, lifting their cups to drink too.

...................................

Part 31 - In the Hut

After their feast Buffy led Faith back to their hut to rest. She put
Mr. Peepers on his pallet, but he fussed and complained. He didn't
want to go to bed without his doll. So Buffy had to lay with him
until he fell asleep.

Unfortunately, Faith had nodded off too. Buffy sighed in frustration
as she climbed onto the pallet next to the brunette. She glanced over
at her. "Faith... you're not asleep are you?" Buffy spoke softly. She
smiled as Faith stirred. The little blonde was feeling very horny.

"Faithy... I have to ask you something." Buffy ran her hands over the
younger girl's bare chest, gently playing with her nipples. "Faith...
it's okay if you can't sleep." The small slayer bent her head and
began kissing Faith's breasts. "I can't sleep either." Buffy
whispered as she caught the stiff nipple between her lips, sucking
happily. *Mmmmmm... I love Faithy's breasts.*

"B?" Faith mumbled as she tried to roll over.

"It's okay. We can stay up for awhile." Buffy held her tight as her
other hand traveled lower. She delicately caressed between Faith's
legs, licking her lips as her finger slid between the slippery
folds. "Faith, you're so wet... Can I have a taste?"

Before Faith could respond Buffy had crawled down the brunette's
body.

"Huh?" Faith awoke to find Buffy between her legs, licking her
pussy. "Jesus Christ, B!" The younger slayer arched up, moaning. "Oh
fuck... oh yes... mmmm... Buffy... Buffy... oh god!"

Faith tensed up, her eyes fluttering shut as her clitoris throbbed.
Buffy was gently sucking it, and it was driving her crazy.

"That's it Faith.... cum all over my face..." Buffy murmured, burying
her tongue in the brunette as soon she felt the spasms. The orgasm
was so intense, Faith merely laid there afterwards, trying to catch
her breath.

Buffy slowly lifted her head. "Faith?... Did you fall asleep?"

"Nope."

"What are you doing then?" The small slayer poked her playfully.

"Um... I'm not sure... I think I'm laying down..."

They both giggled.

"Faith?"

"Yes?" Faith turned her head slightly, squinting through the darkness.

"Can I... um..." Buffy leaned up and looked at her. "Can I... you
know... straddle your face?"

Faith gave a dreamy smile. "Uh-huh... sure."

Buffy giggled, feeling slightly silly with the position. But she damn
well knew, Faith wasn't going to move. She glanced quickly at Mr.
Peepers to see that he was still sleeping before lowering herself
onto Faith's lips.

"Oh god..." Buffy moaned softly as Faith gently kissed her. She
leaned forward to allow the younger slayer better access to her clit.
Holding herself up on all fours, the little blonde slowly rubbed
against her, biting her lip to keep from crying out.

She shivered as the orgasm washed over her. Collapsing on the younger
girl with a sigh, Buffy smiled and relaxed. *Mmmmm... yummy good
orgasms... ahhhh* She grinned when she realized Faith was even too
lazy to move her. Faith turned her head to side so she breathe but
that was it.

In the morning when Buffy awoke, she was still on top of Faith. *Crap!
* The little blonde jumped up and looked over to the baby monkey, but
he still slept. He laid curled on his side, sucking his thumb.
*Awww..* Buffy smiled, pulling on her grass skirt; she went over to
pick him up.

"You were so good. You slept through the whole night like a good
baby." She kissed the top of Mr. Peepers head as she gently woke him.
She didn't want him to get too much sleep.

Faith rolled over when she heard Buffy. "B, whatcha doin'?"

"Getting up. Come on. I want to go home. Let's see if your canoe is
still floating." Buffy teased as she put Mr. Peepers' skirt back on
him.

"Oh shit! You're going to dress that poor monkey up all the time now,
aren't you?" Faith groaned as she climbed out of bed. She pulled back
the cloth to look at her cuts. "Almost healed. See, I told ya that I
didn't need stitches." The brunette grumbled as she got dressed.

"Hush. Hurry up, I kinda wanna leave before the rest of them wake up.
I could really do without all the bowing."

"B, who are you kiddin'?! You love it, and you know it." Faith
laughed. She walked up and playfully put the little flower crown back
on Mr. Peepers' head. He rubbed at his eyes, but didn't open them.
The tiny monkey started falling back asleep in Buffy's arms. It was
frustrating the little slayer.

"No, wake up. You've slept long enough." Buffy gently shook him but
he didn't respond. "Faith!" The little blonde panicked as Mr. Peepers
refused to wake up.

"Shhh... It's okay B. He's still alive. Lemme get Elei." Faith
reassured her before rushing from the hut.

............................

Part 32 - Cordata de Tilia

Buffy tilted Mr. Peepers' head back and looked at him carefully. He
had something in his mouth. The slayer nervously pulled part of a
flower petal from his lips. "Oh no! Faith!" Buffy called
out. "Faith!"

Elei, Faith, and several of the natives came back into the hut.

"What is it, B?"

The blonde held up the flower petal. "I think he ate something."

The man in the head dress reached and took the petal from her,
examining it."Cordata de Tilia." [Limeflowers] He glanced at Elei and
shook his head.

"No!" Buffy cried as she continued to shake the baby monkey. "Faith
do something!"

"What can I do, B? I'm not a vet." The brunette looked away when she
saw the tears welling up in Buffy's eyes. "Awww... shit! Here give
him to me." Faith took the unconscious monkey from her and pulled up
his eyelids. *His pupils dilate. That's a good sign.* The brunette
took the flower petal and asked. "What is this, Elei? What does it
do?"

The boy put his hands together and rested his cheek on them, closing
his eyes. He was either pantomiming sleep or death. Faith wasn't
sure. "B, how many did he eat?"

"I don't know. I don't know where he got them from." She cried out,
panicked, looking around his cot. Buffy then picked up her lei from
his pallet, some of the flowers had been nibbled on. She began to
sob. "He wanted to hold it when I laid him down. I shouldn't have let
him. This is all my fault, and now he's going to die."

Faith took the lei from the little blonde and handed it to the man in
the head dress. "Did he eat too many?" She showed him the nibbled
flowers.

The man gave the slayers an uncertain look, as he gently took Mr.
Peepers from them. He turned to Buffy. "Se o demi-deus pequeno
morrer, vontade você ascend com ele, o dourada." [If the little demi-
god dies, will you ascend with him, Golden One.]

The natives all became alarmed. Elei began to cry. "Heal o fé do
goddess como você healed!" [Heal him goddess Faith, like you have
healed yourself!] The boy pulled the bandages from the dark slayer's
wounds exposing the faint marks that only the night before were
gaping wounds.

"Elei, you don't understand." Faith tried to cover it, but the
natives saw and fell to their knees. The brunette turned to
Buffy. "Great! Now they think I can do magic or somethin'!"

Buffy shook her head and took the limp little monkey back from the
man. She carried him to the pallet and set him down. "He feels really
warm. Maybe, we need to keep him cool. Or are we supposed to keep him
warm?" Buffy began to cry again. "Faith, this is all my fault. I'm
going to be a terrible mother. I couldn't even take care of a baby
monkey. You know what this means, I can never have a real baby." She
sobbed. "I'd probably kill that too. I'm an unfit mother." The blonde
began to wail in earnest.

"Oh brother!.. B, would you cut it out! You'd be a great mother.
You're not going to kill your baby. And this little guy, he's not
gonna die either, okay?! We'll take care of him until he's better. So
stop crying... please!" Faith glanced over at the boy. "You too,
Elei. It's too soon to cry.

"Look, let's take him home. We can look up these flowers in one those
books. They should be in the encyclopedia or somethin'. Then we can
figure out the best thing to do for him. He's still breathing so
there's still hope." The brunette walked over and picked Mr. Peepers
up. "B, grab your stuff. Let's get to the canoe."

......................

Faith and Buffy followed behind the natives as they were led through
the tunnels. When they emerged Faith gestured to all the gore
scattered about the shrine. "Elei, can you get them to clean this
place up? It's really disgusting." She made a face, to illustrate her
displeasure.

The man in the head dress bowed and knelt. "El Oh las grandes, Elei
ha transportado su descontento con sacrificio humano. Adheriremos no
más de largo a tales prácticas puesto que nuestro solamente deseo
está por favor a usted."

[Oh Great Ones, Elei has conveyed your displeasure with human
sacrifice. We shall no longer adhere to such practices, since our
only wish is to please you.]

Buffy tugged at Faith's arm. "Faith, we really need to get him home.
Worry about this stuff later, please."

The dark slayer took in Buffy's tear streaked face and
softened. "Yeah, alright. We'll try and explain things to them later.
C'mon." Faith took Buffy's hand and gave the natives a wave,
indicating they could go now. The slayers knew their way home.

................................

Part 33 - Mr. Peepers Wakes Up

Buffy tearfully removed the skirt from Mr. Peepers and placed it to
the side with his flower crown. She sullenly removed a small blanket
from one of their crates and wrapped him in it.

Faith put down the book and peered over at Buffy. "B, I can't find
anything on dosages in here. It all really depends on how much he
ate." She got up and sat next to her girlfriend. The baby monkey was
curled up peacefully in Buffy's arms. Faith reached down to pet him,
giving Buffy a sad smile.

"I guess all we can do is wait." The blonde laid down on her mattress
holding Mr. Peepers.

"I guess I'll go get us something to eat." Faith got up and headed
for the stairs.

"I'm not hungry." The little slayer spoke quietly as she gently
dabbed the monkey's head with a cool rag.

"You might be later." Faith just wanted to get some air. She couldn't
stand staying in there and feeling helpless.

The brunette grabbed her fishing spear and went out the door. But
before she could reach the water she was meet by Elei. The boy took
her hand and led her to the shrine.

Faith blinked back her surprise. Many of the natives were there
praying while the others were burying the remains and cleaning up.

Elei lead her to the altar where a great deal of food was spread out.
Faith smiled and nodded, thanking them before she sat down with Elei.

"So kid how's it going?"

Elei tried to smile, but he was too sad. "Se os dados do Sr. Peepers
quiserem você começa em seu pássaro e retorna ao heaven com ele?"
[If Mr. Peepers dies will you get in your bird and return to heaven
with him?] He paused and took in her confused expression. "Aquele é
o que Malaki acredita." [That is what Malaki believes.]

"Kid, I don't understand what you just asked." The slayer made the
gesture indicating she needed more.

Elei stood and put his arms out like an airplane and ran around as if
flying.

"Fly? Oh. Leave? Are we going to leave?" Faith was touched that the
natives seemed disturbed by that notion. She glanced around at all of
them. They had suddenly become quiet waiting for her answer. "Well,
someday. I hope. Buffy and I have to go home." She took in Elei's
crestfallen expression. "Elei, we have a job to do... people to help,
yunno." She ruffled his hair. "But I promise that we'll say goodbye
first, okay?" Faith pulled the boy into her arms and hugged him.

Elei was blushing and wore a smile from ear to ear when she let go.

"That's better." Faith grinned, getting up. "I had better go check on
B and Mr. Peepers."

.................................

When Faith returned, Buffy had fallen asleep but Mr. Peepers was
awake. He was laying still so he wouldn't wake up Buffy. Faith
smiled. Any animal that was that considerate of her girlfriend was
alright by her, even if he was a bit of a pain occasionally.

Faith smiled at him and winked. Mr. Peepers grinned back at her and
snuggled up closer to Buffy. The brunette set the basket of food down
and started going through it. *Hell, now that the damn monkey's okay,
I can eat.* The brunette grinned when she noticed some of last
night's pig, dried and made into jerky.

She glanced back over at the mattress. Mr. Peepers was playing with
Buffy's hair. He was pulling it over his head and waving for Faith to
look. She grabbed a piece of fruit and went over to the baby
monkey. "Here little guy, you really had us worried." Faith whispered
as she handed him a mango which he took with tiny hands and began to
nibble raising his eyebrows up and down and making funny faces.

Faith laughed. He kept scrunching up his nose then he sneezed. "Oh so
that's what's wrong with ya." The brunette went and got a towel to
wipe his nose. "Here, blow."

Mr. Peepers handed her back the mango and crawled into the blonde's
arms again. Faith raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, I know how you feel.
She's pretty hot." The slayer chuckled as she got up from the bed and
grabbed one of her comic books.

....................

When Buffy opened her eyes she found the tiny monkey laying on his
side, watching her. Overjoyed, she scooped him up and began kissing
and tickling him. "Faith! Faith! Come here! He's awake!"

The brunette casually walked over. "Yeah, I know. He woke up about an
hour ago. He's just been laying there waiting for you to get up."
Faith bit into a mango. "You hungry?"

She held it out for Buffy who took a bite before scolding her. "You
should have woken me up to tell me!"

"Why?" Faith cocked her head to the side.

"Oh, never mind." Buffy sat up, and Mr. Peepers saw his advantage. He
ran and got the Monopoly game. Normally, he wasn't allowed to play
with it, but since everyone seemed so pleased with him perhaps he
could press his luck.

The younger slayer saw him. "Oh no you don't!"

"Faithy, pleassseee... He was so sick. Just let him play with it for
a little while."

"Fine. But you're picking up the houses when he throws them all
around." The brunette went to lay back down and read her comic books.

"Yes, we'll clean up. Won't we, Mr. Peepers?" Buffy gave him a big
hug and a kiss, letting him climb onto her lap and open the box. He
began chattering as he set the pieces out like he had seen the
slayers do so many times before. "Faith, look. He knows where the
houses and hotels go."

The brunette glanced over. "Good. Maybe you can play him instead,
then you might have a chance of winning without cheating."

"HEY!" Buffy looked around for something to throw at the other
slayer. Finding nothing convenient, she threw her half eaten mango.

"Nice manners you're teaching the kid."

Mr. Peepers screeched and clapped.

"Hey B, we should let everyone know he's okay. The last I saw of
them. They were all hanging out at the shrine praying for him." Faith
started to get up, when she caught a glimpse of Buffy's worried
expression. "No, they weren't sacrificing anybody."

Buffy gave a sigh of relief. "Yeah, I suppose you're right. Come here
Mr. Peepers, let's get you dressed."

Faith waited patiently while Buffy put the tiny skirt and crown back
on the little monkey. She washed his face and combed back his
hair. "There. Now you look so handsome. Yes, you do." Buffy scooped
up the delighted little monkey, ignoring Faith's eye rolls. "Okay,
we're ready."

Part 34 - Two Mommies

Mr. Peepers sat in his crate watching while the two slayers bickered.
He didn't like when they fought. Lifting his arms, he cried out. The
baby monkey wanted to be picked up. He knew that when his blonde
mommy picked him up; she'd stop yelling.

Buffy glanced over at Mr. Peepers. "Now look! You've upset him."

"Me?! What about you and all your bitching?! It drives us both
crazy!" The younger girl stomped toward the door. "I'm outta here!"
Faith shouted, heading down the stairs.

Buffy picked up the little monkey and stood in the doorway. "Where do
you think you're going?!"

The brunette merely waved her off and continued down the beach.

"Argh! Faith! Faith, get back here!" The little slayer growled in
frustration, carrying the wide-eyed monkey back to his crate.

He let her put him down. Having accomplished his goal of stopping the
arguing, he was now content. The tiny monkey knew that his dark
haired mommy would be back soon, and then there would be no more
angry yelling just the funny sounds they made when they laid on the
mattress together. Mr. Peepers put his hands over his eyes.

"Yeah, I know how you feel." Buffy chuckled as she sat down at the
table. It was their usual fight. Faith had gone hunting with the
natives even though she had promised not to. The villagers had hunted
just fine without Faith so Buffy really didn't understand the younger
slayer's insistence on accompanying them. The worst part was that
Faith had lied about it.

The bad girl would have gotten away with it too, had she not been
injured. And that was just the point for Buffy, Faith often was
injured when she went off with the men. She was always trying to show
off. The little blonde shook her head as she straightened up the
plane.

It would be six months tomorrow since they had been stranded on the
island. That was the day they had chosen to celebrate as their
anniversary, and now they were fighting. Buffy sat down, sniffling.

Mr. Peepers watched, sad to see his blonde mommy cry. He hung over
the crate and held out his favorite ball, offering it to the slayer.

"Oh, you're so sweet baby, but mommy doesn't want to play right now."
Buffy smiled at him despite the tears trickling down her cheeks. She
really hated when Faith ran off angry. That meant she'd have to spend
countless hours worrying or go after her and risk another fight.

The baby monkey sat down in the corner of his crate and picked up his
doll. He held it close as he peered through the slats and stared at
Buffy. Maybe there was something he could do. Standing up quickly,
the little monkey shrieked.

Buffy glanced over, to see him dancing. She always laughed when he
did the little dance Faith had taught him, and now was no exception.
The blonde relented and came over to his crate to pick him up
again. "Awww... you're doing your hula dance for me." She gave him a
kiss and held him close. "You hate it when your mommies fight, don't
you?" Buffy smoothed back his hair, smiling slightly as the monkey
nodded.

.....................

"Dammit!" Faith cursed as she kicked at the sand. Buffy could make
her so mad sometimes. *What's with her anyways?! So I got a little
scratch! She always makes a federal case outta everything!* But what
was really troubling Faith was that she had been caught lying.

Buffy asked her point blank were she had gotten the gash across her
leg, and she had said that she fell out of a tree which was sort of
true. The slayer had fallen out of a tree... hunting. Poor Elei had
been tricked into telling Buffy. She couldn't be mad at the boy for
it though. She hadn't told them that wasn't allowed to go hunt with
the tribe. It was too embarrassing, being that whipped. *Ugh!*

The dark slayer stripped off her clothes and ran into the ocean for a
swim. She definitely needed to cool off. *Fuck!* The saltwater stung
her open wound like a bitch. The brunette immediately swam back to
shore. She'd have to go swim in their special pond.

Making her way through the jungle, Faith thought about the
anniversary present that she was going to give Buffy. *I guess that's
off!* She sighed with despair. Her and Elei had spent practically the
whole month latching together bamboo for the area that they had
cleared. Faith figured a six month anniversary was special so she
wanted to give Buffy something more than shells or beads or the other
usual trinkets that they'd been exchanging.

She had started the project shortly after their last monthly
observance. With the help of the other tribesmen.... Elei mostly, she
was able to complete it. Of course the slayer could have easily had
the natives build the whole thing for her, but then it wouldn't be as
personal. Faith knew Buffy would like it more because she made it.

The brunette scowled as she dove into the pond. *Now everything is
ruined!* Faith fought back her tears. Allowing herself to finally be
angry about the appropriate thing, eased her uncertainty. She knew
what she had to do, make amends. Even though Buffy was nutty
overprotective and control girl, Faith knew she shouldn't have lied.

The brunette climbed from the pond, and realized she brought nothing
to dry herself off with. *Oh well.* She shrugged as she pulled her
clothes on, her body still wet.

....................

Faith paused on the stairs. She could hear Buffy. The slayer smiled
as she peered in and saw Buffy singing to little monkey, trying to
get him to sleep. *Frick! That means it's late!* The brunette glanced
back over her shoulder and realized the sun had set long ago, the
moon was clearly visible. *Okay, so I'm not observant girl! Now I'll
get bitched at for being gone late.* Faith sighed, prepared to take
the punishment, and allow Buffy to scold her and get it over with.

Casually, she entered the plane. Buffy immediately looked up. "Where
have you been?! I was starting to get worried. Mr. Peepers couldn't
sleep a wink since you took off!"

Faith walked over and peered down at the tiny monkey who smiled and
reached for her. She smirked as she took him from the blonde. "Ha!
Suckering Buffy into letting you stay up late, that's my boy." The
slayer gave him a kiss and put him in his crate. "Now go to sleep.
You know I'm not that easy."

Mr. Peepers grabbed his doll and crawled under his blanket. Dark
haired mommy didn't allow any fooling around. He mostly obeyed her
right away. He smiled, happy that she was back.

The slayers were talking quietly now. Mr. Peepers saw that as a good.
The candles were put out, and he could hear their funny noises. The
little monkey peeked through the slats. The slayers looked like they
were wrestling, but he knew that when they played like that it was a
good thing.

Mr. Peepers ran back to his blanket and crawled under it. He was
supposed to be asleep. Being naughty and causing another fight was
the last thing the baby monkey wanted to do. Hugging his doll
happily, he closed his eyes. He loved his two mommies.
