1.On finding Giles practicing asking Jenny out Buffy offers 'if you don't mind a little Gene and Roger".  She is referring to film critics Siskel and Ebert.

2.At the Scince Fair table Eric sasy to Willow 'look at those legs', Willow politely declines although in a few years time she'll be checking out the ladies herself.

3.Cordelia snuggles up to Angel for protection and offers herself to Xander, both men have eyes only for Buffy but both men will eventually fall for Cordelia.

4.Buffy tells Chris that she knows what it is like to lose someone close to you.  This could be a reference to her first Watcher, Merrick, who died in the line of duty in the original film.

Pop Culture:Buffy says "Sorry to interrupt, Willow, but it's the Bat-signal" referring to the signal used to summon Batman. Many Bat-Man references will be used in the Spin Off 'Angel'
When She Was Bad
1.In this, the first episode of Season Two, Buffy has been in LA all summer and is hiding her feelings about being killed by The Master.  The same time next year, Buffy will have been in LA all summer and this time will be hiding her feelings about killing Angel.

2.Buffy impulsively heads to The Bronze after receiving a note from a vampire, unknowingly falling into the trap set for her and leaving her friends in danger.  This is not the last time that she will do this.  At the end of the episode Giles tells Buffy that this is hardly the worst mistake that she will make and how very right he is.

3.As the scene in the class room at the end fades, Xander can be heard suggesting that they play miniature golf, Willow replies that there are no courses.  At some point between now and the episode Ted, Sunnydale does get its very own miniature golf course.

4.David Boreanaz is added to the regular cast from this episode.
