Tuvok as almost whole voyager crew had his up and down moments and it's true that any comparison to Sarek is pointless, but overall i liked him. I don't get why you think he was dry.

Well, again, it's been a while since I saw VOY...
Croatian television (HRT) is curenntly rerunning it so i'm studiously revising the sereies. It's currently in season 5 and serious Borg butt-kicking hasn't yet begun. they are currently not chased nor are in any kind of trouble, and things are going as soomthly as is to be expected in delta quadrant. One would think that writers would cease the opportunnity to write some character development episodes, but instead we get bunch of ailiens and episodes based on some pointless moral rants. Why for the sake of Kahless? Voyager crew has so many interesting members, screaming for writers attention and yet they are given almost none. For example Chakotay - i would have loved to liked him (i think that native-american theme about him was a good idea), but he' given s just a couple of very crappy plotless episodes (Nemesis being probably worst of all). Another thing that somewhat bothered me was that no one except Tom and B'Ellana developed a relationship (not given nearly enough screen time imho - the only reason it worked was because the actors had an amazing chemistry imho) in delta quadrant. I'm really not for turning star trek into romantic soap opera but i just thought it was unnatural that most of the crew seem to have lived in a celibate or something during those seven years. Unless they were all monks which i don't think they were. So to sum up - yeah the writers screwed up. they screwed up badly... However all those shortcomings and flawed writing somehoe didn't make me completly turn on voyager. But the endgame broke my heart. I wasn't nearly as pissed of as i was sad about the way voyager ended. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Quote:
I subconciously wiped the entire episodes from my mind

Yeah i know... but believe it or not i've found one good thing in the pt.1 I thought Miral Paris was awsome Smile . She'd picked up the best from both of her parents and as impossible as it may sound, i've come to really like her in those two brief scenes she appeared in.

Quote:
I didn't get the sense Janeway went back just for Chakotay

Not just for him but i think he was the main reason. that scene where she's "talking to " his tombstone was real soap opera material - *excuse me while i go puke*.
I just couldn't stomach it.

...Tuvok's disorder...

"Captain Janeway visits on Wednesdays. Today is Thursday. The logic dictates you are not who you claim to be..." LMAO Mr. Green

Quote:
Jadzia was never a Captain. She wasn't even in command. She was a science officer.I'm quite sure I don't have to tell you that Captains of Starships have little time to indulge in the fun stuff that Jadzia did - unless they were on leave - something obviously Janeway couldn't do for 7 years. If you took Jadzia and made her a Command Captain - that would automatically make her more like Janeway.

If i remember correctly she was given command of Defiant at least once during the war. Besides Janeway was also a science officer (and she served on admiral Owen Paris's ship if i remember correctly) before she went to command. About Jadzia's personality undermining her own authority - i seriously doubt that would happen. She did "indulge in fun stuff", gossiped a bit, and was a biggest wise-ass ever (lol) but she had a perfect sense of time and place for that stuff (well mostly anyway). But when she meant business whe was the most strong willed person i've ever seen and even scary as hell on some occasions. I doubt anyone would ever dare question her authority.

Quote:
Oh- how'd your exam go? Well, I hope!

Well i didn't exactly ace it (i've choked, which is very unlike me and messed up everything i posibbly could), but i've passed so it's one thing to worry about less. I guess my laziness and lack of studying finally caught up with me. Mr. Green

He just was. He was boring and lacked spark. But, y'know, it's just my opnion. You don't like Janeway and I don't get that. lol

I'm with you on the lack of character development. In fact, I think Robert Beltran complained bitterly and actually pissed off Berman and co. b/c of all the Seven hype and lack of Chakotay development. I could see both angles (at the beginning). I understood the glut of Seven of Nine stories to 'fasttrack' the character - but at the same time - when they were still kicking Borg butt in S7 and the rest of the regular cast were bypassed...well, I think Beltran had a point. Overall though - he could've been more diplomatic.

My brother plans of buying VOY on DVD - so'll I'll be re-watching them again, soon, too. It'll be interesting to see if my opinions change about anything - although I doubt they will hehe.

I honestly don't remember Miral - but I don't think it's 'impossible' to really like a character in a couple of scenes. I honestly was instantly intrigued by Faith the first time I saw her in FHT! So - I understand what you mean Smile

Regarding Jadiza being in command of the Defiant - that's SO different to a career command officer. Heck - Beverly was in charge of the Enterprise once! It's just different. And, again - Bev being in charge of the Entreprise is a pefect example of how different you have to be in command.

You make my point for me - when you point out that Jadiza could be downright 'scary' when she meant business. If you put Jadzia in command of Voyager - she'd mean business as often as she could - thereby radically reducing the fun-loving side of herself. Therefore, Jadzia would be way more like Janeway.

I'm glad you passed your exam Smile Better get back to 'radical' study Razz Wink

take care

Being a huge fan of Faith, I would be lying if I'd say the idea of the character having her own spin-off wouldn't interest me, but I honestly don't trust the powers that be. In my opinion Faith's return to BtVS during season 7 was a complete waste of time. I was expecting the redemption storyline to continue where "Orpheus" left off. Her determination to redeem herself and selfless heroics were totally squashed once she returned to Sunnydale. Rather than move forward with the person she had become, they regressed the character back to what she was trying so hard not to be anymore.

Then there was the whole riding off into the sunset with Wood. If they wanted to stick Faith into a relationship with somebody, fine, but at the very least it should've been with somebody who was intrested in her as a person, not just because she was a slayer. The way I saw it Wood went for it because he couldn't get Buffy and settled. It would've been nice to see Faith with somebody who wasn't on Buffy's throw-away list.

I was also hoping for some type of closure between her and Buffy, but that didn't happen either. A couple of right-hooks to the face and a two minute convos that didn't go anywhere was a sorry way to end one of the best and most complicated rivalries ever. So I guess what I'm saying is I'd welcome a Faith spin-off if it was placed in the hands of writers who would give Faith the character development and story she deserves.

I agree with you. I'd be terrifed of a Faith spin-off at this point. To me - it seemed no one had a clue by 7th season BtVS. Faith was wasted. In my eyes, she was a glorified extra and little else. I also agree with you about Wood. There's no way Faith will be secure with him - for many reasons.

A character of Faith's calibre desevered better than the awful stuff she had to put up with on Buffy. And don't get me started on the massive stupidity of the legions of Slayers now running around.

I don't think there's anyone who can give Faith the treatment she deserves right now. I don't want a Faith spin-off until all involved have had a nice long holiday and thought about what to do.

I think that a Faith spin-off would be wicked, originally I didn't like the idea of Angel as a spin-off, but then I watched it and was blown away. I reckon it'd be the same with a Faith show.
I also reckon the whole motorbike thing suits her image. It wouldn't be cheesy like it was with Wesley ( which it was meant to be anyway as he wasn't exactley hardcore in those days, unlike the later version of Wesley; who really grew on me.)
I also think she was great in season 7, it was good to have her back.
