Here's a little preview of the third installment of Origin, which some of you may have read on Solace. To anyone who has been anticipating the third part, sorry for the ridiculous amount of time it has taken to write. I've found that my motivation for writing has dwindled recently, but I'm about ready to finish this installment and move on with the story. I want to have this part done in two weeks, so look forward to it soon.
Feedback on the entire story, an individual section, or the preview below is always welcome. Sorry for sucking so badly lately. This is a direct continuation of what happened at the end of Chapter 2, for anyone following along.
Utterly broken-hearted, Faith watched with a sort of indifferent horror as her hopes and dreams were crucified, then slowly dismembered and tossed away as if they meant nothing at all. She hadn’t asked for much, but even that small request had been too great for her mom. Jesse continued to stay away from the apartment, only reinforcing Faith’s belief that she had somehow fallen from grace, but through no visible mistake on her part; she had done everything right, she had been the perfect daughter…the neglect was beginning to wear dangerously thin on Faith’s patience.
With Kelly still unavailable, no doubt busy doing things with her parents, Faith began to fall back into the monotonous routine of being essentially locked away in a space that seemed to be getting smaller and smaller every single day, a suffocating, crushing feeling that stifled her desire to behave as she had in the past. If her mother couldn’t invest the time and effort to make her daughter’s life interesting, then Faith would take matters into her own hands. In the days between her birthday and Christmas, she ventured outside more and more, eager to relieve herself of the burden that existed inside the increasingly cramped apartment. Outside, she could almost forget the heartache that seemed to follow her wherever she allowed herself to go, a shadow of disappointment that was everywhere and nowhere at the same time. She could feel it when she closed her eyes, the haunting presence of doubt that persistently told her that her entire life had been a waste. When had she ever done anything for her own benefit? Everything she had been, everything she was…it was all based on expectations that were not her own. Jesse had molded Faith into a perfect student, into a young girl with an eye for detail and success, but what about the things that Faith wanted? She had played her part quietly and obediently, striving to achieve the impossible task of making her Jesse into a better, more attentive mother. Faith had invested years of struggle and success, but it had all added up to nothing.
Maybe it was time for a change.

Amazing, as usual! I can't wait for the rest, either. But, I'm guessing that's a given
Just a qick question, though. I know you're doing roughly two year gaps, but is there no gap because it's Faith's birthday, or are you jsut extending this time period? |

I felt like I needed to extend the end of Chapter Two into the beginning of the next chapter because I wanted to bring in a new character...I love being cryptic. _________________

Hey! Your story is good. I am (impatiently) waiting for part 3.
I think I -too- know who the new character will be.
Are you gonna go all the way till Sunnydale? That would be cool, you know! But I'll stop requesting and start studying as I ought to, blegh..
Anyway, take your time, but not too much.
I'll be waiting. _________________ xxx Loes |

I do want to attempt to take the story all the way until Faith makes her appearance in Sunnydale, but I find that as I write, the story-telling takes a lot longer in practice than in theory. So we'll see what happens. |

Holy shit, I actually wrote something today. Circumstances are really conspiring against me at this point (like both my cars being in the shop...don't even ask how that happened), but I'm trying to get this damn third chapter finished. Give me a few more days, kids. _________________

I won't ask about your cars - but I hope they're out of the shop, soon.
A huge YAY for writing, though! |

I was planning to write more last night, but instead I got drunk on five different kinds of alcohol:
*Mike's Hard Lime (10 proof--one bottle)
*Smirnoff Ice (10 proof--one bottle)
*1800 Tequila (80 proof--two shots)
*Smirnoff Vodka (80 proof--two shots)
*Wild Turkey Bourbon (100 proof--two shots)
Do you know what that equals? Throwing up for ten minutes straight! Wheeee! So yeah, if I wasn't busy puking last night, I would've written more... _________________

I'm on page 64 of the story right now...not too many pages left before I release part three to the masses, who are no doubt in the process of not caring at this very moment. But 64 full pages is pretty goddamn long no matter which way you look at it, eh? I just wrote:
“Look at this picture!” Kelly exclaimed, nudging Faith and pointing to her yearbook as the two ate lunch together under Boston’s blistering summer sun. “So ugly!”
wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! _________________

I'm amused how you think no one cares, Mike lol.
I'm so hanging to read chapter 3! That 'blistering sun' part sounds cool. But overall, 64+ pages of Origin = 'the masses happy' |
