Firefly is to be shown (in Australia) on Channel Seven, beginning November 10th at 12:30 AM!
But there's a problem...
The first episode listed for airing is The Train Job, which some of you may know is not the original pilot for the series. It appears as though Channel Seven will be airing the episodes as they originally aired in the U.S. - out of order. We'd like you to help change that.
Those of you who have seen Firefly on DVD know that seeing these episodes in their intended order is pivotal to your enjoyment of the series, and those of you yet to see the show (and are perhaps salivating on my shoes) should know that if Channel Seven airs episodes according to the U.S., you'll be watching the first two episodes - you guessed it - last.
The film adaptation of Firefly, re-dubbed Serenity and written and directed by the one-and-only Joss Whedon, will be hitting Australian theatres in April of next year, and it'd be a crying shame if a potential audience was scared away from a great hour of television and what promises to be a fantastic film - Whedon's feature film directorial debut.
So, you can help!
We'd like any and all concerned viewers in Australia to mail or fax the following letter to Channel Seven's programming department in their capital city to help convince them to air the episodes correctly. Address and fax numbers are included in the respective document, and please remember to type your name and address at the bottom.
