Cross-promotion: Firefly on SciFi?

Universal's Science Fiction Channel does a lot cross-promotion. Is there a possibility that "Firefly" will air on SciFi?
New Galactica Gets Some NBC Play
Network to give series launch a boost.

In another one of those examples of "corporate synergy," the NBC broadcast network will be running a three-hour version of the Battlestar Galactica mini-series on Saturday, January 8th. This is just prior to the launch of the new series on the Sci-Fi Channel the following Friday and the release of the mini-series on DVD.

Sci-Fi Channel and NBC are owned by the same parent company, NBC / Universal and a number of promos for Sci-Fi Channel events, including the Earthsea mini-series, have been appearing on the network, especially during high profile series like ER. According to some sources involved with the series and the network, it's hoped that this extra exposure may offset any possible viewer loss due to the online file trading of the Galactica episodes as they have been broadcast in the UK.

With Universal producing and releasing the Firefly film, Serenity, next year, the possibility exists that the original series may be picked up by the Sci-Fi Channel for cross-promotion purposes. No official word on that possibility as yet but sources have hinted at the possibility in the past. Stay tuned.
