Smooth blend puts Godiva in the saddle

 THE actor who played the Gold Blend smoothie in the 80s TV adverts is the latest star to sign up for the Lady Godiva movie.
Anthony Head - who is a familiar face to fans of Little Britain and Buffy the Vampire Slayer - will play a teacher and will star alongside Kiera Chaplin who takes the title role.
Head plays the prime minister in the hugely successful Little Britain comedy.
The film, Lady Godiva: Back in the Saddle, will begin shooting in June and is a modern tale of corruption and comedy in the city. Kiera Chaplin - the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin - is already an international model and cover girl for Vogue and is hoping the Coventry-based film will propel her to movie super-stardom.
Holby City star Art Malik is the only unconfirmed cast member for the film, which will be shot around the city, Warwickshire and the Isle of Man.
Head, who found fame in the 80s with his on-screen coffee based romance in the Nescafe Gold Blend adverts, played Rupert Giles in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series.
He will be joined in the Godiva tale by up-and-coming comedy star David Mitchell, of Peep Show fame, impressionist and BBC Fame Academy contestant Jon Culshaw and Oscar nominee Jennifer Tilly, who starred alongside Jim Carrey in Liar, Liar.
Titanic actor Jonathan Hyde and Hellmann's mayonnaise advert star Nick Holder, "the big dollop", have also signed up.
The men behind the movie, Koralis Pictures' Dennis Timothy and Heath Jones, are looking for any financial backers from Coventry.
The duo are offering extra parts in the film to sponsors and a chance to attend the end of production party.
