Tru Calling: Chances of being saved!

Matt Roush explains his opinion concerning the chances of Tru Calling to be saved at last.
Question:
Do you think the Fox series Tru Calling should be saved? The writing has greatly improved in the Season 2 episodes aired so far. If it were given the chance, renewed for more episodes, advertised better and perhaps moved to another night, do you think it could become a hit? — Jeff

Matt:
Respectfully, and in hopes of discouraging more pipe-dream questions where this show is concerned: No. Maybe if Tru were positioned after American Idol, it might get a bounce in the ratings. But that ain't gonna happen. Even if, like Tru, we were to wake up in the past (in this case, last fall, when Fox suddenly decided to halt production), there would be no saving this show. Period. I do think it got a raw deal, because it did improve creatively between when started and the current episodes, but it's simply the wrong show on the wrong network on the wrong night at the wrong time.
