 | Ask Matt (about Tru Calling) Read here, what Matt thinks why Tru wasn't sold to another network. |
Question:
I know Tru Calling is gone. But why can't another station pick it up? I mean, NBC canceled JAG, CBS picked it up and it went on for, like, 10 years. The same could happen for Tru. To air only a few episodes and get us hooked is just not nice. — Chris

Matt:
Fact of TV life: Networks picking up another network's castoff almost never happens, and for a show like Tru, which never caught fire (for whatever reason), it's an impossibility. As for "not nice," Fox just added fuel to your ire. Tru's truncated run has been cut even shorter. The final episode aired last night (April 21). Fox is replacing the sixth episode with repeats of The Simple Life: Interns. Isn't that just evil?
Slayerverse extra note:
There was also a rumor, that TheWB wanted to air and continue Tru, buf Fox denied. The Fox Company wanted to sell the show to TheWB but fox the television channel, who owns the rights, did not agree and wanted to keep Tru for themselfes.
(I thought that would might be another view as an answer to the question.)
So now say, what do you think?
