EXKLUSIV : James Marsters concert review

Read how fan Linda experienced his concert in Leeds, saturday 23rd April 2005.
Saturday 23rd April 2005 - Josephs Well, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.

We went into the pub and were let down into a small empty room with a stage at one end - not good for me as i'm disabled but what the hell, anything to let the fangirl in me loose!
There was a support act and then James came on stage.
He still looks good but it's unusual seeing him with dark brown hair in a crew cut!
Anyway, the whole place went mad.
Well, to be honest the wild was all the girls - it was really deafening, screaming and whistling for him, he went a little bit red at that and asked to see all the mens hands, when they put them up he asked if they'd been dragged there by their girlfriends and one guy at the back yelled "No, by my mum!" which made everyone laugh.
He really knew how to play the audience, laughing and joking with everyone inbetween songs. He took it all in his stride just throwing out random comments to the people and everytime he spoke the girls just started whistling and cheering. When he sung a song off of his last album some of the girls in the audience began to sing along with him to which he commented at the end that he "has to get the songs just right if people know them well and sing along".
I would estimate he was probably on for about 45 minutes to an hour. Just before we left he made an announcement that went like this:
"Okay i'm gonna sing one more song now and pretend to finish so you've all got to scream really loud for me to come back on stage and do an encore." We had a chuckle about that one.

Anyway, his new songs are fantastic, get the album if you can, it's kind of bluesy with an electric guitar background to it. If he ever tours your area, take the chance and go and see him, it's well worth the money.

Thank you Linda, for sharing this with us.
