The original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, says Hollywood stars Sandra Bullock and Catherine Zeta-Jones are too old to play the sexy superhero.
Carter wants an unknown actress in her 20s to be cast in the big-budget film version of Wonder Woman, set to be shot in Australia next year.
Who will don Wonder Woman's gold bullet-reflecting bracelets and whirl the magic lasso is one of Hollywood's biggest secrets.
The O.C.'s Mischa Barton and Tom Cruise's new love, Katie Holmes, are rumoured to be among the top candidates, along with plenty of other Hollywood actresses such as Jessica Biel.
Barton is 19. Holmes is 26 and Biel is 23.
Carter, who squeezed into the red, white, blue and gold costume for the Wonder Woman TV series in the 1970s, has also heard the names of 40-year-old Bullock and 35-year-old Zeta-Jones mentioned.
But the '70s icon wants a fresh face.
