Ariescope Pictures had targeted a Halloween '05 release date for their bayou horror opus Hatchet, but as you may have guessed, we won't be seeing it any time next month. As writer/director Adam Green tells Dread Central, "We're in the final few weeks of mixing and mastering the film. Once that is done, the distribution process will really start."
"'Hatchet' already has some offers for distribution - without a single person outside of the project even seeing any sort of version of it yet - so I can safely say that, yes, the world will indeed get to see this film soon enough," he continues. "It's so amazing and flattering how much buzz this film has, however, it's not even completed yet so it's still gonna be a while before the sales reps and our choice of distributors can really start talking and settling on deals. Thankfully, I am not really involved in that process...but man, I am so unbelievably proud of everyone involved with making this film for creating a movie with buzz so strong that potential distributors are making offers without even seeing it."
