NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Rita Wilson, Julianna Margulies and Michelle Trachtenberg have joined William Hurt in "Beautiful Ohio," which marks the feature directing debut of actor Chad Lowe.
The early 1970s coming-of-age tale centers on a teenager (newcomer Brett Davern) who feels he is in the shadow of his idealized older brother (David Call). Wilson and Hurt play the boys' parents, with Margulies cast as a seductive next door neighbor and Trachtenberg as Call's girlfriend.
The project is based on Ethan Canin's adaptation of his short story "Batorsag & Szerelem," from his anthology "The Palace Thief."
The low-budget indie production began shooting Monday in Brooklyn. Lowe is producing the ensemble comedy/drama with his wife, Hilary Swank, and Mark Burton. All are partners in Accomplice Films. Former NBA All-Star Reggie Miller is an executive producer.
