Buffy and the Emmys!

A question for TV Guide's Televisionary: "Buffy" is an Emmy award winning show, but which ones did it win?
Question: Everyone knows that the Emmys ignored Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However, during FX's promos for its syndicated Buffy episodes, it referred to the series as Emmy Award-winning. Which Emmy did the show win? — Kristina T.

Televisionary: Let's be fair now, Kristina. The awards themselves aren't guilty of any such thing. I've seen one up close and as far as I can tell, they just kind of sit there, all inert and metalliclike.

The academy, however, might be accused of such an infraction since the awards Buffy won aren't the kind that make fans happy. (Of course, it should be noted that the recognition is anything but minor to the behind-the-scenes people who win them.)

The series won statuettes for outstanding makeup for a series and outstanding music composition for a series (dramatic underscore), both of which it collected in 1998. It was nominated for hairstyling, sound editing, cinematography and costuming but, except for writing, has been shut out of the process in all the major categories. (And I'll say again that "major" is the word used by others — to me it's insulting to suggest that the achievement of those who won one of the aforementioned awards is something less than that of the more glamorous honorees.)
