Seth Green adopts comedy throne

With the success of his comedy 'Four Kings', the interviews just keep on coming! B.Herald believes seth will take up his place on the Thursday night comedy throne!
”The cliffhanger is really intense,” Green said during a recent conference call with reporters. ”It starts out with (co-star) Josh Cooke and I working at CTU and the president is being targeted, and there may be a nuclear attack, so we’re trying to disarm the bomb.”

He’s joking. The truth is that this comedy about four lifelong friends sharing an apartment in New York City is key to NBC’s efforts to reclaim Thursday nights.

”NBC is getting back to the roots of its success with its Thursday night comedy lineup,” he said. ”In today’s marketplace, where it’s all hour-longs and reality TV, it’s nice to see heartwarming comedy back to back.”

The Philadelphia native has been in the business since he was a child (he co-starred in Woody Allen’s ”Radio Days”) and knows better than to get caught up in the Must-See TV hype.

”I’ve been through this kind of thing a bunch of times, and you always hope for the best. You surround yourself with a good group of people,” Green said. ”We have great writers and producers and a fantastic director. You just hope people get in on the fun that we’re having.

”This is the most fun I’ve had on a sitcom. It really is. I don’t even think the cast of ’Friends’ or ’Seinfeld’ could even imagine what would happen with their shows. You can’t really plan for any kind of stratospheric success. We’re about to finish our initial order, and we’d love to get picked up and do some more.”

If the show doesn’t take off, the man known to millions as Scott Evil in the ”Austin Powers” movies has plenty to keep him busy. He’s the voice of Chris on Fox’s ”Family Guy.” ”It’s a really great job that I kind of can’t believe I got.” Green also produces, writes and voices Cartoon Network’s ”Robot Chicken.” In March, that series returns for a second season and the first season will be released on DVD.

Series creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick approached Green about starring in ”Four Kings” after he played a bratty ex-child star on ”Will & Grace” last year.

”One thing I loved about the pilot is the sentiment, that your friends are your friends for life,” Green said. ”Your great goal in life is to have a family and get married, but your friends are really what keep you through all that, what keep you sane, keep you strong and support you.”
