· Went to the El Rey on Friday to catch the Ringside show. Both Jessica and Ashlee Simpson were there with Eva Mendes and some other friends. Jessica wore the ugliest red hat I’ve ever seen and was smoking a “strange little herbal cigarette” with a table of friends. Kirsten Dunst was there in a black hat that would have seemed ridiculous had Jessica not shown up. Then I saw Fred Durst (who was wearing what appeared to be a holiday sweater his grandma must have picked out for him) chatting up Michelle Trachtenberg. Joaquin Phoenix was spotted outside in the smoking area.
