An Interview with Sean Hutchinson!
We (The Twins) had a little Q&A with drummer Sean Hutchinson, who talks about his work with GotR and a few other things... |
-How did you like Berlin?
Berlin was really a wonderful place with wonderful people. I hope to go back
to play again soon. Definitely left a little piece of my heart there too…
- Have you ever been to Germany before? And what part of Germany would you
like to visit?
The trip with GOTR was my first time to Germany. If I could go back, it
would be to Berlin and maybe to somewhere in the countryside as well, some
small towns.
- Are there any differences between the fans in Europe and the fans in the
United States?
As far as I can tell the fans in Europe are just better. More of them, more
enthusiastic, cuter….
- How did you like working with Ghost of the Robot?
It was a lot of fun and I am glad to have had such a great and fun
experience.
- What´s your favorite GotR-song?
David Letterman…
- How did you feel when you heard , that Ghost of the Robot will seperate?
It was sad, but there was no way around it. Would have been fun to keep
playing though.
- Do you still see the other guys of GotR?
No, not really. I have moved from LA so I don’t see the guys anymore. Too
bad…
- If you got a choice- with whom would you like to work with ?
They are all good people with different skills…
- What are your plans for the future?
I am a professional drummer. That’s what I love to do and will keep doing.
Hope to come out to Europe again soon. Anyone know any good jazz clubs where
I could bring my band?
- Are there any upcoming projects like conventions or concerts? Maybe
something in Europe?
Nothing in Europe anytime soon unfortunately. I am going to music school in
Boston and mostly play in Boston and New York.
- Have you ever watched Buffy or Angel? If you did, what are your favorite
episodes/character?
Only a very little bit…
- What do you think about the Buffy-Theme-Song by Nerf Herder?
It’s fine by me, though I suppose I would rather have had a GOTR song
instead.
- Which is your favorite Band? And what´s your favorite song?
Right now I am listening to a lot of Elliott Smith, Erykah Badu, an Emmylou
Harris record called “Wrecking Ball,” Bright Eyes, the record “Parachutes”
by Coldplay, Bjork, and, as always, a lot of jazz.
- Which was the last CD you´ve bought?
Elliott Smith, “Figure 8”
- Are there any other instruments that you would like to possess?
A bass would be cool. Also I am into lots of drums from around the world.
- Three things you cannot live without?!
Music, food, sex (not necessarily in that order.)
- What´s your favorite colour?
Blue. Probably light blue. Guess that means I am a mild-mannered guy right?
- What is your favorite season?
They are all nice. Fall is the most pensive, but summer is the most fun.
- What´s the most embarrasing thing you´ve ever done?
Too many things to count.
- What was the greatest experience of your life?
Going to Berlin!!!!
