A group of vampire-assassins are travelling into the past in an attempt to kill previous Slayers, and disrupt the lineage of Slayers.
Buffy is forced to confront the vampires across history; she stumbles across time periods on her quest to stop them. During her travels she comes across a Druidic stronghold being invaded by Romans, an American Civil War Battlefield, Angelus during the French Revolution, and she fights off against unusual creatures from ancient Sumerian mythology.
