Alyson for England
|
 How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan is using her summer break to cheer on her favorite soccer team -- England. The former Buffy The Vampire Slayer said that she and her husband planned a vacation in Germany specifically around the World Cup:"I started playing soccer when I was three years old so I've always just loved it. I'm a huge soccer fan. I'm so excited. You know, we would just sort of follow England around and then during the breaks, like when they're not playing games, we'll just travel Europe."
England is still in the running for the World Cup and plays Portugal tomorrow (July 1st) in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. If the Brits make it past the Portuguese, they'll play again in a semifinal match Wednesday (July 5th) in Munich, Germany.
Germany, Argentina, Italy, Ukraine, Brazil, and France are the other teams besides England and Portugal which are in the World Cup quarterfinals.
By now we all know of course that Aly was wrong and England’s out as well as Argentina, Brazil, and Ukraine.
