| igpay01 | 06.07.06 - 23:19 | | Cool! Thanks! She's so pretty. | | SpuffyFreak | 06.07.06 - 23:50 | | Gellar signed the contract before even reading the script?! Well, Slayerver posted an article that said the complete opposite about that. Saying that Gellar agreed to read the script while she was in the plane, and that she came to a part where her character died, but she didn't want that, and Richerd changed that. Oh-kay! Yeah, posting false testimony... or at least false articles. Hm... I don't know what to believe anymore. | | SpuffyFreak | 06.07.06 - 23:54 | | Though, anyhow, thanks for the video. ^^ Very much appreciated. | | Forgotten_Conscience | 07.07.06 - 10:20 | | I find it hard to believe that you guys actually had "exclusive" coverage of Cannes. It only stands to reason that there were other reporters covering the event as well. | | rt | 07.07.06 - 10:21 | | Spuffyfreak, you're getting mixed up. She said she signed the script before reading way back when she first signed on. | | rt | 07.07.06 - 10:37 | | She said "I don't know if I'd be as comfortable doing it with anyone but Dwayne. It was easy to let go because you were trusting in the people around you." She says the same thing about David, so it makes me think she's being fake. 2ndly, she told Richard she's available for all future projects. She certainly didn't tell Joss that. | | delipa | 07.07.06 - 16:24 | | What's Joss got to do with anything? | | SpuffyFreak | 07.07.06 - 20:07 | Well, can't she trust both Dwayne and David? I mean, she only said it about both of 'em, so maybe she meant both times. As to the video, yes, she said that she signed the script before reading it. Though in an article that Slayerverse posted here, maybe a years ago, it said that Gellar read the script in her airplane, and when she discovered that her character, Krysta Now, was going to die, she talked Richard into changing it, otherwise she *wouldn't* sign the script.
Though I believe that the article must've been wrong. Since Gellar, herself, said otherwise. Maybe it was meant to be that she talked Richerd into changing the script, even if she already signed the contract. Makes more sense, I guess. | | delipa | 07.07.06 - 20:41 | @SpuffyFreak Yeah, it's confusing, but I doubt Slayerverse would knowingly post something they new to be false. There's actually more than 2 stories about how it all came about.
The thing is that with transcripted interviews, whether they're Cosmo or anywhere else, you almost never get the full story. The writer will edit it in such away to make it entertaining and sell magazines...Some things are their opinion, some are taken out of context and somethings are just omitted. | | instant_sunshine | 08.07.06 - 11:37 | @SpuffyFreak: "...It said that Gellar read the script in her airplane, and when she discovered that her character, Krysta Now, was going to die, she talked Richard into changing it, otherwise she *wouldn't* sign the script."
My understanding is that SMG first met with Richard Kelly at the airport when she was flying out to Tokyo to begin filming 'The Grudge'. Originally she signed to play a different character (the one now played by Amy Poehler) but Kelly later persuaded her to take on the Krysta Now role.
As to what has and hasn't been said, intimated, etc, these soundbite interviews never give us the full story. In reality, whatever Gellar and Kelly might have discussed and agreed, nothing would be fomalised until it had been looked at by her (and his) various representatives, including the lawyers appointed to act on their behalf. The picture presented in the public forum is rarely an accurate reflection of what really happens behind the scenes.
| | SpuffyFreak | 08.07.06 - 20:05 | | That's exactly the point. We can never be too sure about something. Though I sure know that Gellar'll be Alice! Yay! | You have to be logged in to comment. | |
