According to SFX magazine, during the recent "High Stakes: Whedon Fans For John Kerry And John Edwards" campaign, Joss Whedon let slip this choice titbit about what happened after the events of "Not Fade Away":
"Gunn is dead. Illyria keeps fighting. Angel loses an arm. Spike gets Shanshu. And Xander loses another eye, which is funny, because he isn't even there".
Note that Joss was joking when he said this. ;-)
