Best Actress
And the Oscar goes to..... |
At this place we want to thank the 3 finalists for the awesome acting job during the last couples of years. Perhaps SMG, Eliza and Charisma had deserved the price in together.
But, well, life is not fair and we are sure that SMG fans will surely be angry at us. We understand this kind of reaction as it seems clear that our Jury did not see that Sarah was the main actress for 7 years and appeared in every single episode unlike Eliza who did not do that much appearances. And perhaps the Slayerverse Jury only consisted of men who only decided based on looks and optical impressions. And besides that Sarah is a role model for fans and did not do plastic surgery like Eliza. Yes, the Eliza nose rumours are.. well… but the Jury should have counted in that there were never rumours about Sarah. She seems so perfect in every area. And yes the majority of voters supported Sarah so it is not important whether she can act in a better way or not. We are sure that we did not realize that Sarah always does good movies like Scooby Doo that had surely Oscar potential. And we are sure that other people will have more reasons why we are not able to make the “right” decisions. The comments are open for you. Please make extra-harsh comments ;)
But although we know that you are not interested in the reasons why we opted for Eliza, we are naming the reasons:
Faith was always a very popular character although not being in many episodes. That proves that the character played by Eliza Dushku has a certain charm. The role was challenging as the character has come a long way from a dark slayer, to a baddie and murderer and back again on the road of glory. In these few scenes where Eliza appeared, she could characterize Faith with only some little gestures and mimics. Her very funny and cool lines always fit to the scene and makes Faith look like a pivotal character. It is always easier for an actress not to have all the responsibilty for a show lying on her shoulders. SMG had never the chance to back down to the background and come up with some great lines. But Eliza had the oppertunity as her character was written in that way. As said above, all 3 actresses would have earned the award but the Jury thinks that Eliza pulled out the best performance possible according to her screen time and the borders and limitations the writers had planned for the character.
