Spike as described by Kita in 'Equinox'

Feel free to ignore this but I've wanted to share this for ages and I thought no one could appreciate it more than a spuffy community.

Most folks here read only spuffy fic and would never ever come across this prose poem written by Kita so long ago and I thought it was a shame that you would never get to see it. It's from her piece Equinox, and it's a short four part prose poem about the four seasons of Angel's vampiric life. But within it is a description of Spike that is not only perfect but also I think an anthem for living itself:

"Spike gets up every day and breathes because he enjoys the smell of the air. He eats because he savors the taste of the food. He throws himself in front of demons because he relishes the kill. He throws himself at Buffy`s feet because he wants to, and if it is a poor idea, a fool`s errand, well, at least Spike is living .......in the light. In his own version of truth. He is not skulking in shadow, he is not walling himself off from even those who wish he would; no, he stands in the center of the goddamn universe and he lifts his hands over his head.

And he shouts."

Wow, that was amazing. It is such a perfect and beautiful description of him. Thanks for sharing. And you are correct. I never would have come across that because I pretty much hate all things Angel.

I totally agree with your pretty much hate all things Angel ... I'm a very passionate Angel hater LMAO. I can only stand him when he is written well, and MUCH differently from the show, and quite possibly looking differently than whom we saw. Yeah, not a fan of D.B. but that's just me. LOL
