The summer of "the Gift"

The summer after Buffy's death in "the Gift" is often referred to, but I've barely come across fics that actually describe / pertain to that summer. Would any know of fics that spend some more detailed time on that period?
I'd appreciate it noted if you know a fic to be a WIP.

Origins by Nimah is the only one I've come across and I've read a lot of spuffy fanfiction. It is probably the only one I've read that goes into a decent amount on detail. The first 10 chapters is devoted to the summer I believe. It is one story in a trilogy. Another story which is part of an unfinished trilogy is Journeys: A promise to a lady by Mary. The 1st story in Journeys is all about the summer Buffy was dead. Origins can be found here and while the 1st 2 parts of Journeys can be found on EF and the 3rd unfinished part can be found on All About Spike website. Just a note though without giving away too much plot part 2 of Journeys doesn't end a particular happy or spuffy note but both stories are worth the read. Origins and its sequels are wonderful as well with a lot of spuffy. These are the only 2 that I know of that go into any depth of detail about that summer. Hope this helps.

The Origins series sound familiar, pretty sure I've read it, but clearly long enough ago to happily give it a re-read : ) Journeys I did not recognize from a quick look at it, so that'll be great to read next.
Don't mind if it's happy or unhappy or even entirely within my usually "preferred" categories. Any well-written story tends to stand on it's own merit (I just dislike being surprised by an unfinished one : P)

Glad to help. I don't know if I made sense but since you don't like unfinished stories, the first two stories of Journeys are are finished but the 3rd I believe is a permanent WIP. So it is technically an unfinished trilogy.

Was perfectly clear : ) And some WIPs are still a good read for sure. Just prefer knowing before going in that I'll be "left hanging" so to speak.
Just finished the first part of Journeys, it fitted the bill perfectly and I will most certainly read the rest when I get the chance.

Summary: My take on Buffy's return from the dead. The Scooby Gang discovers Magnus Bryce's plan to Raise Buffy using the Scroll of Aberjian, and the race is on to stop him--but Willow has other ideas...

Strongly suspect I've read Barb C's story a few years ago and if it's the one I think it is, I enjoyed it. I'll check to be sure.
Looking forward to reading the 2 WIPs (49 chapters?.. should keep me happy : D).
