FF. net fic POST-NFA (?), now human William VERY ill

A number of years ago I started reading a fic on FF. net. At the time it wasn't complete, although I'm pretty sure it was eventually finished. When I got around to going back to look for it I couldn't find it.
I believe it was POST-NFA. I think perhaps Spike had Shanshued, was William essentially, and had no memory of Spike, or anything before the alley etc. I think Angel might have been looking after him. Seems like Buffy got wind, came looking for Spike, and Angel begged her not to drag William back into things.
I seem to remember that The Senior Partners had a grudge or something against William, and we're punishing him by making him incredibly ill, deathly ill. And by that I mean literally his insides, his organs, etc were liquifying or something on the inside. William if course bore it with the sweet temperament of the previously Victorian scholar and poet.
I think Buffy was stomping up and down trying to get somebody, Angel, Giles, The New Council, maybe even the Powers to help him, maybe?
And this is about as far as I got. You can see it would've been a read hard on the heart, and taking a breather was needed. Just didn't figure I'd be unable to find it again.

Found it finally! It's called "Retrograde" by Guardian Erin, and is on fanfic.net.
BUT... I found it searching 'Post-Chosen', not 'Post-NFA'; Also, it didn't come up under anything like 'shanshu', 'shanshued Spike', or 'shanshued William'. Apparently there also was a sequel started, but's been left hanging for years. This one was also a few years older than I thought, 2007.
