This is very damn good.
I'm a little gutted that this isn't finished, but I am really glad I read what I did.
You didn't make this simple, or unlike the characters at all. Well, maybe Spike, but I'm just guessing that the spell moved him along quite far in His feelings for Buffy.
Either way this was such a well written story, and that meant that I just had to comment.

I understand both of their actions, but I'm worried about how they'll react in the morning. I'm hoping they'll be civil, especially if they go see Joyce together.

This was so heartbreaking! Buffy feeling the loss of control over her mother and Spike being unable to deny her because he loves her. Love the way it was written! Can't wait to read more.

I'm glad Buffy wasn't heartless enough to wipe such a big chunk of memory from Spike's head, especialy since he didn't want her to. That would be just so... wrong. And I love how Joyce made him chocolate/blood mix. LOL Loved it!

This is sort of a turn around. Buffy's friends and family have sort of accepted Spike being around with little problem. It's bugging Buffy that they are okay with it.
