pj! I remember wishing one of your stories would be finished seriously about a decade ago. Amazing. I just tried an old password I used to use and amazingly got in too. Memories!

Everything I Needed and All I Ever Wanted

“The apocalypse was defeated and many people have died, but so many more survived thanks to Buffy. She knew she would not fail us and fail us she did not. Guiding us through...”

Spike blocked out Willow’s little speech, funerals were never one his favorite events to attend. He made an exception this time, for his love, his slayer, his Buffy.

As he sat in his chair during the night time service, clad in a black suit feeling the soft earth beneath his shoes and smelling the salty scent of tears that filled the air, he opened an envelope and pulled out a letter, unfolded it and began to read:

Dear Spike,
If you’re reading this, chances are great that I am gone. I need you to know I never doubted you as a warrior or as a friend and that you’re presence in my life has been so much more than amazing, it’s been unforgettable. I’m keeping this short because there’s a lot to be done, I will save you all. Before I head out, I have only one more thing to say, after all these years you’ve done so much for me I don’t think I’ve ever thanked you, so thank you for everything. Oh and as far as loving you goes, I should have told you sooner but you’re everything I needed and all I ever wanted, I truly do love you. Now I must go, I have a world to save.
Yours Always,
Buffy Anne Summers

A single tear fell from Spikes eye, as he read the letter that he’d found only a few days earlier lying on his bed in the basement.

“...she will never be forgotten.” He caught the end of Willows speech and he murmured “Got that right Red.”

As the ceremony ended and everyone went home, a single shooting star brushed across the dark sky and the wind whispered “She will come home.”

The End
