The scene now changes to show Buffy stomping into the library looking for Giles.

Buffy: "Okay what's the sitch!"

Giles: "I'm sorry?"

Buffy: "What's the sitch here? You heard about the dead guy right? The dead guy in the locker."

Giles: "Yes."

Buffy: "Cause it's the weirdest thing. He's got two little holes in his neck and all his bloods been drained. Isn't that bizarre? Aren't you just going ooooooh?"

Giles: "I see. Is he, will he…rise again."

Buffy: "No, he wasn't changed. Just dead."

Giles: "Oh dear, I was afraid of this."

Buffy: "Well I wasn't. It's my first day. I was afraid I was going to be behind in all my classes and that I wouldn't make any friends and I would have last month's hair. I didn't think there'd be vampires on campus and I don't care."

Giles: "Then why are you here?"

Buffy: "To tell you that I don't care. Which I don't and have now told you, so bye"

Giles: "You cannot escape your destiny."

Buffy: "Wanna bet?"

Buffy then does a flip off the top of the library's railing onto the bottom floor.

Giles: "Do you think its coincidence your being here, it was fated."

Buffy: "Why can't you people just leave me alone."

Giles: "Because you are the slayer. To every generation a slayer is born. One girl in all the world. A chosen one."

Buffy: "Wow, you can do the speech and everything."

Giles: "One born with the strength and skill…."

Buffy & Giles: "To hunt the vampires."

Buffy: "To stop the spread of their evil, blah blah blah. I've heard of this okay?"

Giles: "I don't understand this attitude. You've accepted your duty; you've slayed vampires before."

Buffy: "Well, I've both been there and done that and I'm moving on. Growing as a person, much happen."

Giles: "You have no idea what's going on do you?"

Buffy: "Theirs vampires? Big deal, you kill em."

Giles: "You think vampires are the only threat we face here?"

Buffy: "What do you mean?"

Giles: "There are more thing on hell and Earth then dreamed of in your philosophy."

Giles then begins pulling out books, stacking them in Buffy's arms as he call out their tittles.

Giles: "Werewolves, zombies, gloves, incubi, sucubi, everything you've ever dreaded under your bed but told your self couldn't be by the light of day. They're all real.

Buffy: "What, you like sent away for the time life series?"

Giles: "yes."

Buffy: "Did you get the free phone?"

Giles: "The calendar."

Buffy: "Cool. Zombies huh? Okay, first of all I'm a vampire slayer. And secondly I'm retired."

She then hands the books back to Giles.

Giles: "Your work is not finished."

Buffy: "My work? I'm 16 I don't have work I have homework."

Giles: "And you haven't been properly trained.

Buffy: "Which is why you're here."

Giles: "Well yes I'm a watcher and a watcher serves by finding the slayer and leading her on her path. It is my destiny to guide you."

Buffy: "Yeah, well the last guy they sent to guide me… You should see what happened to him."

Giles: "Yes I know all about it."

Buffy: "You don't know anything about it. You don't know what it's like… I was happy. I was Cindy Lou Who just coasting through my life when vampires, which are only supposed to be in cheesy movies, started killing people. People I know and I found out that I'm the slayer, the only one in the world and I got to stop them. And I do. I train, I hunt, it becomes my whole life. I can do things no other kid can do and actually that's fairly lush I'm kind of into that. So I kill the vampires, yay me. And when it's all over what's left. My grades are the suck, my social life has achieved leopards stage and I get thrown out of school for causing trouble. Not exactly a medal and book deal if you know what I mean.

Giles: "Yes, I do."

Buffy: "I just want to be just like everybody else. Like anybody else."

Giles: "But you're not are you."

Buffy: "Well, I need to be."

Buffy then grabs her purse off the table and walks out of the library. The camera pans behind a few bookshelves. To show Xander standing there holding a book, with a weird expression on his face.

Xander: "Ooookay."

The scene then changes to late that night at the bronze. Buffy is standing there next to a few other people she doesn't know. This nerdy guy just looks at her.

Nerd: "Are you the new girl?"

Buffy: "Yeah."

They both nod. Xander then come running up.

Xander: "Hey. I'm allowed to be here right?"

Buffy: "Sure."

Xander: "I'm psyched you came.

Buffy: "Is the band good?"

Xander: "Well, they don't know any actual chords yet but they have really big amps. But it's always a good time though."

Buffy: "Yeah, it seems normal. A normal thing to do.

Xander: "Uh, yeah."

Buffy: "Well I mean everyone comes here right?"

Xander: "So you didn't do normal things at your old school."

Buffy: "Oh, sure only. Exclusively you know everyday stuff. Homework, student council football team."

Xander: "You were on the football team?"

Buffy: "No, I just… So, is Willow coming tonight?

Xander: "Oh I saw her sneaking onto campus with some guy."

Buffy: "Willow has a boyfriend?"

Xander: "She does tonight. I didn't know the guy. So you didn't have any extracurricular activities…."

Buffy: "What was he like?"

Xander: "Who?"

Buffy: "Willow's friend."

Xander: "Oh um, kind of.."

Buffy: "Pale?"

Xander: "Yeah."

Buffy: "What was he wearing?"

Xander: "Um, a jacket."

Buffy: "No, what was it like. Was it outdated and all some old style."

Xander: "You really caring about this outfit. Um yeah, but it was pretty striking." He says sarcastically. "You know, sleeves rolled up, collar. Very Lionel Ritchie. I mean, who's still sporting that look."

Buffy then quickly runs off towards the school leaving Xander behind. The scene then shows willow on the theater stage at the school with a guy.

Willow: "This is nice. I don't usually do this sort of thing." She then says under her breath. "I don't usually get asked."

The two then sit down together.

Willow: "But I'm having a good time though. Soooo, where did you say you went to school at?"

Boy: "Crossroads."

Willow: "Soooo, time for some kissing huh?"

Boy: "Relax."

Willow the stands up.

Willow: "We probably shouldn't even be here. Especially after what happened to that poor boy.

Boy: "He had it coming."

Willow: "What do you mean?"

Boy: "Coming up here alone, at night with a complete stranger. What kind of idiot would do a thing like that?"

Willow turns around to see the boy in vamp form.

Boy: "What's the matter? Don't you want to snuggle?"

The scene changes to show Buffy running up to the school with Xander following behind.

Xander: "Hey, wait up!"

Buffy: "Where would they be?"

Xander out of breath manages to reply.

Xander: "Buffy, what's the sitch?

Buffy then hands her purse filled with weapons to Xander.

Buffy: "You might need this."

Xander: "This wouldn't by any chance be a vampire issue?"

The two are then startled by Willow's scream that is heard coming from inside the building.

Xander: "The auditorium! I'll try around back."

Buffy slams the doors open to see the vampire trying to feed on Willow.

Buffy: "Alright, get your hands off of her.

Boy: "Ooooh seconds."

Buffy: "So what is it with vampires and clothes. You always think the march of fashion stopped dead the day you did. But it really is such a give away."

Willow then pushes away from the vamp as Buffy jumps onto the stage and kicks the vampire in the face.

Buffy: "You know, you really shouldn't be here. A vampire, all alone at night. It just isn't safe."

Boy: "You've got me wrong."

Buffy: "Oh, my bad. Your not a vampire?"

Boy: "I'm not alone."

Just then vampires begin coming out from different angles of the auditorium, surrounding her.

Buffy: "Oops. I don't suppose you'd be sweeties and attack me one at a time?"

Boy: "You watch to many movies."

Buffy: "You can never watch to many.."

She then kicks him in the side as she is then attacked from behind. She is then thrown onto a table that breaks beneath her.

Buffy: "Ow, that was my favorite spine."

Xander then comes running in holding her purse.

Xander: "Buffy?"

Buffy: "Get Willow out of here."

Xander then picks up a broom and throws it to Buffy.

Xander: "Heads up."

The fighting with Buffy and the vamps continue as Xander goes to check on Willow.

Xander: "Can you walk?"

Willow: "Ugh, mom was right about boys. Ow!"

Xander then helps willow to her feet as they try to leave the area.

Xander: "We gotta get help."

Xander says as he hands the purse to Willow.

Willow: "Xander, do you usually carry a purse?

Darla then grabs Willow as she screams. But is then pushed a side as Darla sighs with disappointment.

Darla: "God I hate leftovers!"

The camera then pans back to Buffy fighting with this muscular vampire and the vamp that attacked willow. As the muscular vampire tries to attack Buffy from behind, she quickly rotates the broom and stabs him with it. He then falls to the ground and turns to dust.

Buffy: "See what happens when you rough house?"

The camera then angles in back with Xander willow and Darla. After Darla has already reject Willow she makes her way towards Xander as she tries to attack him.

Xander: "I don't like any girls, that I'm afraid of."

Darla then grabs Xander and knocks him to the floor as she tries to feast on him. Willow sees the cross laying on the ground that has fallen out of the purse. She then picks it up and walks over towards Xander and Darla holding the cross in front of her. Darla looks up to see Willow with the cross and that is when she presses it against her forehead. Xander quickly jumps up over to Willow's side. Where all we see now is smoke coming up as Darla screams.

As Buffy continues fighting the vamp that had attacked willow, he manages to knock the broom out of her hand. She then climbs up the stage stairs as the vamp and one other follows. She manages to know them both off as they come crashing down.

Boy: "Who are you?!"

Buffy: "I'm the slayer."

Vamp: "A slayer?" the vamp then quickly runs out of the auditorium.

Buffy: "Better face facts. You've run out of time, you've run out of friends and nobody likes your outfit."

Willow and Xander the come back to the auditorium to Buffy's aid. Willow hold the cross in front of her as if using it as a shield while Xander hid behind her.

Willow: "Freeze!"

They slowly creep out farther into the auditorium with caution.

Willow: "I know how to use this! I think."

Xander then looks up to see Buffy at the top of the stairs.

Xander: "Buffy?"

Buffy: "Be careful you guys, there's still one…."

She is then attacked from behind as the vamp jumps through the cheep backdrop. He manages to grab Buffy and knock them both off the platform and onto the stage floor. As they fall they end up crashing through the wood floor forming a big hole. Xander slowly walks towards the pit to peer through to see if Buffy is okay. Xander is then grabbed by the vamp as he manages to jump half way out.

Boy: "Your friend can't help you now!"

Xander struggles to free his wrist from the vampires grip. When suddenly the vamp is pulled back into the pit.

Boy: "Hold that thought."

A brief struggle is held when suddenly Buffy appears from beneath the shatter wood floor. She then pulls herself out of the pit. Xander gives her his and as he helps her up. The two then sit down. Willow rubs her neck with agony

Willow: "I'm really sorry about this."

Buffy: "That's okay, it's kind of a destiny thing."

Xander: "So, what does a vampire slayer do exactly?"

Buffy just smiles and shakes her head at him.

The Next morning at Sunnydale high school, the group is sitting outside with Giles. A boy is stapling a poster advertising the theater clubs performance of Dracula. Cordelia and her group pass by the scoobies.

Harmony: "Hey look at them!"

Cordelia: "Well, it seems Buffy's found her own level."

Harmony: "I can't believe we were almost nice to her!"

Cordelia: "I know."

The three walk away as the camera focuses in on the group. Buffy is sitting there along with them twiddling a stake.

Giles: "I'm not saying you didn't do well. Wait, now I am. You didn't do well. You stunk up the place."

Xander: "Are you kidding? She was huge; she had the moves, this crane technique."

Xander then does this preying mantis type pose.

Willow: "And she saved my life. Which I'm for."

Giles: "If she'd been a minute later you'd be dead or worse." Giles then focuses his attention towards Buffy. "And you revealed yourself? And you let one of them get away?"

Buffy: "You know, are you sure your wearing enough? Cause we might get a cloud today.

Giles: "I cannot believe that the fate of the world may well be in the hands of this.. teen thing.

Buffy: "Relax, the worlds in beauty hands. Trust me."

She then smiles as she throws her stake across the area land smack in the middle of the vampire poser.
