Kendra | Jenny | The Master | The Anointed | Mr. Trick | The Mayor | Professor Walsh | Forrest | Adam | Joyce | Warren | Tara The Master, was the leader of all vampires and was played by Mark Metcalf. For his role, which lasted the entire first season of Buffy, Mark had to put on a cap to cover his hair and tons of make-up each day. All to make his character even more frightening. Mark has had roles in films such as Animal House, The Oasis, Rage, Reason to Believe, The Stupids, Hyjacking Hollywood, and many more. He was last seen as Mr. Roderick Nitzke on the ABC show, "Teen Angel." Mark worked on A Woman Named Jackie, as George Smathers, which starred Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar as the young Jackie. His character, The Master was killed in the season one finale, but was nearly brought back to life by the Anointed in "When She Was Bad" (season two premiere) but Buffy managed to defeat the Anointed One and smash the Master's bones with a sledge hammer. Now, he will never return except in the occasional flash back or alternative universe. | Official Mark Metcalf Website | Colin, the Anointed was played by Andrew J. Ferchland. Andrew worked on Buffy from the Season 1 episode, "Never Kill A Boy on the First Date" up to "School Hard" when he was killed by Spike. The reasoning behind this came when Andrew grew up a little to fast for a vampire that wasn't supposed to show any signs of aging. So, they had to kill him. He has worked on other projects such as, the movie, The Fan, and No Way Back. He has had numerous TV guest appearances on shows like, Earth 2, The Good Life and Mad About You. Although he'll never come back to Buffy, except for if they ever do any past pieces, Andrew can be sure he has a career in acting secured for himself.Mr. Trick was Sunnydale's major villain for the first part of season 3. He was portrayed by K. Todd Freeman. Mr. Trick, a creative and technology centered demon, started as the vampire second in control to Kakistos--a vampire so old his feet and hands were cloven. After Kakistos was killed, Mr. Trick took over. He was quickly recruited by the Mayor to work for his team and was the head of the Mayor's security team for several episodes before he was staked by Faith in the episode, "Consequences." K. Todd Freeman has had roles in films such as Gross Point Blank, The End Of Violence, House Arrest, and Eraser. He's had other TV roles in such shows as NYPD Blue, and Strange Luck. Richard Wilkins III was the Sunnydale Mayor. He's portrayed by Harry Groener. The character was a frightening two-sided person. To the people of Sunnydale, he was a sweet, dedicated Mayor, but he was also a man who's sold his soul to the Devil and worked for evil. Basically, he was the best person to be running the town. The Mayor performed a spell that would make him invincible for 100 days until his ascendance. Harry Groener has had roles in TV shows such as Buddy Faro, Working, Star Trek, and a recurring role as Brockwell on Mad About You. In the episode, "Graduation Day, Part 2" the Mayor, a demon in making ascended to a higher being and turned into a 60-foot snake demon. Buffy and the rest of the Sunnydale High students defeated him by luring him into the school library and then blowing up the school. "Well, gosh." Professor Walsh, the Psychology professor and head of the Initiative was portrayed by Lindsay Crouse. She first appeared in the season four episode, "The Freshman" and continued to show that she's a tough, no-nonsense professor. In the episode "The Initiative" it was discovered that she was the head of the underground operation called The Initiative. She led scientists as well as some students in a mission to capture the various creatures of the Hellmouth and perform tests on them. Her character was killed by Adam in the episode, "The I In Team," but appeared again in the episode, "Primeval." Lindsay Crouse has had roles in multiple movies, but some of her most recognizable roles have been, The Indian in the Cupboard, Prefontaine, The Juror, and The Insider. She's also had numerous guest appearances on TV series such as Law and Order, NYPD Blue, and Hill Street Blues.
Forrest, another member of the Initiative team was played by Leonard Roberts. Forrest seemed to be more of a friend to Riley as well as a fellow officer. First appearing in the episode "The Initiative", Forrest provided comical relief for the occasionally humorless character Riley. Forrest was killed by Adam in the episode, "The Yoko Factor," but returned as a human/demon/machine mix in the episode, "Primeval." After a battle with Riley, he was blown up and completely destroyed. Roberts has had roles in films such as He Got Game, Hoodlum, and Love Jones. He was the character of Emmet Taylor in the TV mini-series The 60's, and had a guest role in an episode of the TV show, Due South. | Official Leonard Roberts Website (Coming Soon) |
Adam was portrayed by George Hertzberg. Adam was the scientific product of Professor Walsh's attempt to create a superior being. She combined man, machine and demon to form the perfect creature. She didn't expect Adam to turn on her, and kill her as soon as he woke up. His natural curiosity for life and how it works and his sweet innocent attitude combined with his deadly abilities made him one incredibly frightening villain. He proved to be too much of a challenge for Buffy alone, but when the Scooby Gang performed a Summarian spell, combining all of them into one, they unleashed powers that allowed Buffy to easily defeat Adam. He was killed in "Primeval." George Hertzberg has had a couple of guest roles on "Home Improvement" and "3rd Rock From the Sun." His latest project is writing, producing and starring in a new movie, "Too Much Magic."
Joyce was portrayed by Kristine Sutherland. After five seasons as the lovable, but occasionally oblivious mother to the Slayer, Joyce Summers passed away. Unaware of Buffy's destiny until the end of the second season, Joyce was always supportive and caring for her daughter. In the fifth season, the Summer's family faced a new challenge: Joyce's health. A brain tumor threatened Joyce's life, but fortunately, doctors were able to remove the tumor without problems. Or so we thought. When everyone thought Joyce was completely well, Buffy returned home from school one day to find her mother's lifeless body on the living room couch. In the unbelievably real episode, "The Body," Buffy and friends coped with the reality that Joyce had died, from an aneurysm.
Tara was portrayed by Amber Benson. The character of Tara was first introduced in the episode, "Hush." She met Willow in a Wicca group at school and as time progressed, the two built a unique relationship. Both practicing Wicca's, the two worked on spells together, at times combining their powers to tackle difficult spells. Willow and Tara got closer eventually making it very clear to the audience that they were more than just friends. Despite many obstacles and Hellmouth-y trouble, the two built a loving relationship with each other. In the 6th season, it got bumpy and Willow's obsession with magic resulted in the breakup of her relationship with Tara. Once Willow got her magic under control, though, Tara gave her another chance and the two got back together! Unfortunately though, after a loving day in bed together, a stray bullet through the bedroom window that was fired by villain character, Warren, fatally struck Tara. Willow was unable to revive her. Warren was portrayed by Adam Busch. First introduced in the episode "I Was Made To Love You" as the creator and former "boyfriend" of robot April, Warren returned to the show in season 6. Teaming up with two other wannabe Sunnydale evils, Jonathan and Andrew, the three formed what turned out to be one of the more pathetic threats to the Hellmouth, The Trio. They managed to get under Buffy's skin with their twisted plans and attempts to study the Slayers skills, but Buffy managed to foil their plans one too many times. Finally, as power got the best of them, Warren broke away from his partners in crime and angrily went after Buffy himself. He shot her in her own backyard, but also unintentionally shot and killed an innocent, Tara. The loss of her love caused Willow to be consumed with black magic and her obsession for revenge. Unbelievably powerful, Willow set on a rampage to kill Warren and she succeeded in making him pay for taking Tara away from the world. Warren was tied up, tortured and eventually flayed alive before Willow completely destroyed him. |
