Angel at the bar
Angel is sitting at a bar, he seems to be slightly intoxicated. He's rambling to nobody in particular about a "really pretty girl" he once knew. He looks at the man sitting next to him, a large, bald guy who's not paying much attention to Angel's ramblings. Angel then glances behind himself toward a group of two women and three men shooting pool.
Angel watches guy at the barAngel follows
One of the pool players comes over to the bar, next to Angel. He tells the bartender he wants to settle up. Angel silently sizes the guy up while maintaining the slightly tipsy act. The guy pays his bill, then leaves the bar with the other two men and the women.

Angel raises up from his chair, his change of expression turning serious, evidence the drunken act was a ruse. He follows after the group out of the bar.

troubleAngel interrupts
Out in the alleyway, behind the bar, the two women are attacked by the guys who turn out to be vampires. Angel walks up to them just as one of the vamps is about to kill one of the girls. Angel interrupts, still pretending to be intoxicated, asking if anyone has seen his car.

One of the vamps growls at Angel to get lost. One of the girls is thrown into a pile of trash cans by a vamp who then takes a swing at Angel. Angel blocks the blow, knocks the vamp down and turns to another of the vamps who is rushing at him. Angel hits him in the face. Angel then turns and kicks the first vamp who is trying to get back up.
the girls look on as fight ensuesthe wrist stakes
The remaining vamp tackles Angel, knocking him to the ground. Angel manages to throw the vamp off of him and over his head before any damage is done. At this point, he sees the other two vamps both rushing at him from opposite directions. Angel drops his hands behind his back, a spring loaded stake ejects from under his coat sleeves, one at each wrist. He shoots his arms out to his sides and dusts both vamps as they attack.

The last vamp comes up and hits Angel over the head with a trash can. Angel drops to the ground and turns to look at the other vamp. Angel has morphed into game face. He throws the hapless vamp into the air, leaving him to land on his back on the windshield of a parked car, smashing it.
taking it all in
The girls are huddled together in the alley, trying to sort out what they've just witnessed. They are both scared, realizing they came close to being killed. One of them is bleeding from a cut on her forehead. Angel has his back to them.
Angel tells the girls to get lost
The girl with the cut walks closer to Angel and thanks him. He swiftly turns, still in game face, stares briefly at the blood on the girl's head and snaps at her to stay away from him.

The girls back away, frightened by what they see.
the vamp gets dustedAngel departs
Angel heads out of the alley. As he's walking, he tears a wooden slat from a crate and, without breaking stride, uses it to stake the vamp who's still lying on the hood of the car.

Angel enters an office building. He passes through an office on the ground floor and enters an elevator. He closes the metal grated door on the elevator, it descends.
the elevator arrivesAngel notices someone else is there
Angel steps out of the elevator and removes his coat as he walks into the apartment. He removes the stake ejecting wrist devices, goes to his weapons cabinet and places them there. Angel freezes for a second, then looks over his shoulder to see someone standing in the entryway.
DoyleAngel notes Doyle doesn't "smell human"
The stranger comments on the accommodations.

Angel asks who he is. The stranger replies that his name is Doyle.

Angel notes to Doyle that he doesn't "smell human".
Doyle isn't quite human
Doyle explains casually that he's half human at which point he sneezes and briefly we see his face change to a bluish green, spiky visage, which immediately changes back to human. He continues his explanation that he's half human, on his mother's side. He notes that he's obviously not a vamp, since he entered Angel's apartment without being invited.

Angel wants to know what he wants. Doyle tells him he was sent by "The Powers That Be." Angel's not getting it and is growing a little frustrated with the exchange. Angel listens to Doyle
Doyle recounts Angel's history
Doyle recounts the story of Angel's life as Angelus, then as a re-souled Angel." Angel interrupts, again displaying his frustration but Doyle continues with his exposition on through Angel's time in Sunnydale and his relationship with Buffy, up to his leaving Sunnydale and coming to LA. Doyle checks out the fridge, looking for a beer. All this talking is making him thirsty. There isn't one to be found.

Angel responds to Doyle's exposition that he knew all that already, he was there after all, so still wants to know Doyle's point.
Doyle spells it outAngel sees the point
Doyle says that though Angel is helping people, he's not connecting with people. Angel doesn't see why that should matter. Doyle points out that if he doesn't see them as anything more than a problem to be solved, it might not be such a big leap to begin feeding on them again.

Angel, Doyle
Angel and Doyle are walking together down the street. Doyle is explaining that it's not about the fighting, it's about connecting with people, showing them someone cares.
Doyle brushes off the homeless woman
A homeless woman asks Doyle for spare change, he snaps rudely at her then returns to his dialog with Angel, telling him it's important to save souls, not just lives, indicating that may also be the road to Angel's redemption as well.

Angel wants to know who sent Doyle. Doyle doesn't know, he explains that he's guided by visions accompanied by blinding headaches. He doesn't know exactly who sends them, he only knows that whoever does is stronger than either of them and wants to make things right.
Doyles fills in the detailsDoyle hands Angel the note
Angel wants to know why him. Doyle tells him he's got potential and he's got a lot to make up for. Angel asks why Doyle then. Doyle implies that he, too, has something to atone for. He pulls a piece of paper from his pocket explaining that he scribbled the note after one of his blinding visions that morning.
Angel doesn't know where to startDoyle tells Angel to make the connection
Angel looks at the note. A girl named Tina, who works at a coffee shop, needs help. He doesn't know what he's supposed to do. Doyle tells him to connect with her. Angel responds he's not good at making small talk with people. Doyle informs him that's the point, to get him started.

Angel tries to figure out what to sayTina
Angel sits at a table in the coffee shop, drinking a cup. He overhears a guy in the coffee shop call one of the waitresses "Tina".

Tina walks near Angel's table. He leans over to pet a small white dog sitting next to one of the tables, making some comment about the dog in an effort to get Tina's attention. She ignores him and continues working.
Tina appreciates the coffee cup save
As she walks back past the table again, Angel asks how late the coffee shop is open. Tina turns to answer him, knocking a cup of coffee off of the table. Angel catches it before it hits the floor, without any of the coffee having spilled out of it. Tina notes his quick reflexes as Angel puts the cup down.
Angel tries to make conversation
Angel tries to get a conversation going with her, not knowing exactly how to go about it, his discomfort with the situation obvious. He asks her if she's happy, noting that she looks kind of down.
Tina tells Angel when she gets off work
Tina is suspicious and wants to know if he's been watching her. He says he just noticed her in the coffee shop. She notes he must not hit on girls very often, judging by his awkward approach. He says he's new in town. She indicates she might like to talk. He tells her he's not busy. She responds with the news she gets off work at 10:00.

Angel is outside of the coffee shop, leaning against his car.
Tina armed with her sprayAngel, not sure what's going on
Tina comes out wearing an evening dress. She grabs a bottle of pepper spray (or mace) from her purse and threatens Angel, demanding he tell Russell to leave her alone. Angel doesn't know anyone named Russell and tells her this.

Tina thinks he's lying, she wants to know why he was watching her. He tells her he thought she looked lonely and that they had that much in common.
Tina apologizes
Tina considers that a moment, believes him and apologizes for threatening him as she lowers the container of pepper spray (or mace).
Tina, Angel
Angel asks her about Russell. Tina doesn't respond, just starts to walk past him. Angel tells her that he wants to help. Tina responds that the only "help" she needs is a ticket home. She adds that was not her way of asking for money.

Tina tells him she has to go, she has a party to attend. Angel asks if she needs a ride.

Margo greets Tina and Angel
The party is taking place at a posh hotel. Lots of glamorous people milling about. A woman, Margo, is videotaping the partygoers. Tina enters with Angel.
Angel, Tina
Margo tells Tina to smile as she shoots her with the video camera and asks her who the handsome man is with her. Tina responds that he's a friend and tells Margo she needs to talk to her. Margo suggests Tina get a drink, she'll join her soon.

Angel again asks Tina who Russell is. Before Tina can answer, Margo joins them. Tina tells Angel it won't take long, she obviously wants to talk to Margo alone.
Tina departs with Margo
Margo and Tina depart as Angel meanders through the crowd, looking out of place and uncomfortable.
Angel gets a business card
A man approaches Angel, introduces himself as "Oliver", a talent agent, and hands Angel his card, mistaking Angel for an actor. Angel tells him he's not and tries to give him his card back. Oliver tells him he's serious and he wasn't simply 'coming on' to him. He explains that he's already in a relationship with an architect and departs.
Angel, not sure what to make of Oliver
Angel looks down matter-of-factly at the business card in his hand, not quite sure what to make of the exchange.
Cordelia
Angel sees Cordelia Chase among the crowd and calls out to her. She comes over to him. He asks her about herself. She tells him she lives in a condo in Malibu. She implies that she's been quite successful in the acting field since moving to LA.

Cordy makes small talk briefly with Angel then takes her leave to mingle with other attendees, in search of someone who can help her in her career.
Tina, getting harrassedAngel watches Tina
Angel notices Tina talking to a man. The man is telling Tina that Russell wants to see her. She tells him to leave her alone as she walks away from the guy and over to Angel.

Angel asks Tina who the man was. She tells him his name is Stacy but doesn't offer any more information. She wants to leave. Angel agrees.

Angel, Tina step off the elevator
The elevator opens in the parking garage of the hotel. As Angel and Tina step out, three men rush up to them. One of them grabs Tina, the others jump Angel. They fall back into the elevator, the door shuts just as Stacy steps out of the elevator next to it.
Stacy tells Tina Russell wants to see her
Stacy tells Tina that Russell wants to see her. She agrees. The guy holding her releases her.

As they walk through the doors that lead into the parking garage, Tina runs. She's caught and all get into a car.
Angel realizes he's in the wrong car
Angel comes out of the elevator, leaving the two men who fell into it with him behind, both unconscious. He runs into the garage and sees the car Tina is in. He jumps into his car, only to find the keys don't fit. He looks around to see an identical car parked a few slots away. He realizes he's in the wrong car, jumps out and gets into his own.

the driver crashes into a pillar
Angel is speeding for a head on wreck with the car containing Tina and her abductors. The driver of the other car rams into a parked car rather than take a head on collision with Angel's.
Angel makes a point
Angel gets out of the car, kicks the car door, slamming it into the driver who has just gotten out and is standing behind it. Angel grabs the driver's gun away from him and aims the gun at Stacy who has emerged from the back.
Angel, Tina depart
Angel instructs Tina to get in his car, then knocks Stacy unconscious with one hard punch to the face.

Angel and Tina drive away.

Cordelia
Cordelia is hanging up a dress in her closet. The apartment is clearly not a "condo in Malibu" as she told Angel. It's a very plain, poorly maintained, obviously low-end apartment.
Cordy munches on a sandwich
She opens her purse and takes out one of the sandwiches she'd stashed from the party, dejectedly sits on the couch and eats it as she listens to a message left by her agent on her answering machine. The message tells her that there's no work for her and she shouldn't call him again, he'll call her if things change.

Angel prepares teaAngel assures Tina she doesn't owe him
Tina and Angel are back at his apartment. Angel offers her tea. She accepts but thinks he's after something more from her. He assures her that isn't the case. He offers her his place as refuge until they can get things straightened out.

Tina is touched by his kindness and begins to sob softly.
Tina gets upset
Angel hands her a towel as he sits down beside her. He asks her again about Russell. Tina still doesn't want to offer up any information about the subject.
Tina tells Angel about Denise
Angel continues to prod gently.

Tina finally offers that maybe Russell is responsible for murder, but she's not sure. She tells Angel a girl who tried to get away from Russell, Denise, disappeared.

Angel covers TinaAngel finds Denise in the address book
Tina is lying on the bed, sleeping.

Angel adjusts the blanket over her, removes her address book from her purse and looks up "Denise". He finds her listed, along with her last name.

Angel looks for info on Denisethe computer displays the coroner's photo of the rose tattoo
In the darkened public library building, Angel is doing a computer search for information on Denise. He comes up with a picture of her showing a rose tattoo on her upper left arm, a crime report on missing young women and a coroner's report on an identified body that contains a close-up shot of a rose tattoo, just like Denise's.

Tina, having a nightmareTina gets some comfort
Angel is walking through the sewers, headed back to his apartment. As he nears his place, he hears a woman groaning. It's Tina. He comes up through a trap door and goes to the bed where she's sleeping. He holds her as he tries to wake her.

Tina wakes, very upset by her nightmare. She tells Angel she thought Russell was there.
Angel tells Tina what he discovered
Angel asks if her friend Denise had a rose tattoo. Tina acknowledges she did.

Angel tells her what he found out at the library, that he thinks Denise is dead and there may be others. He tells Tina the girls all seem to be alone, no family or close friends, nobody to take real notice if they go missing.
Tina sees the note
Tina is still spooked. Angel tries to reassure her that she's safe at his place. She points at Doyle's note laying on the table (the one Doyle jotted down after his vision with her name and place of employment on it). She wants to know what Angel is doing with it and asks if he knew who she was before he came into the coffee shop
Angel tries to explain
Angel fumbles for an explanation, but of course there isn't one.
Tina warns Angel to stay away from her
Tina fears it's all a game and that Angel does indeed work for Russell after all. She throws her things into her bag, tells Angel to stay away from her and runs out of the apartment, toward the office doors that lead outside into the daylight. Sun is streaming in through the office windows.

Angel grabs her by the arm as she's leaving the office, trying to get her to stop and listen to him. She pulls at him, trying to get away, and in doing so pulls him toward the doors.
Angel reacts to the sunlightTina reacts to Angel's morph
Sunlight hits Angel's arm which then erupts in flames. Tina is shocked to see Angel's arm on fire and that he has also morphed into vamp face. Terrified, she runs out the doors, into the light.

Angel tries to follow, but is stopped by the sun.

Tina is back at her apartment, frantically packing.
Tina takes aimRussell Winters
She picks up a gun from a desk drawer and turns around aiming at the man who has suddenly shown up, Russell. He tells her he's been looking everywhere for her and seems more amused by her pointing the gun at him than alarmed by it.

Tina wants to know what happened to Denise.
Russell assures Tina Denise is fine
Russell answers that Denise wanted to go home so he bought her the ticket. Tina tells him she believes Denise is dead. He says not so, he spoke to Denise on the phone recently himself and she's fine, she's going back to school. He tells Tina that he may live outside of lawful limits somewhat, but he's not a killer. He tells her he wants to help her as he takes the gun from her hand.
Tina answers Russell's questionRussell shows his true face
Tina tells him she wants to go home. Russell assures her he'll make it happen. Tina is crying. Russell asks her from whom she got these wrong ideas about him. Tina answers she doesn't know, a guy she thought Russell had hired and that he turned into something awful.

Tina is shocked to see Russell turn into a vamp. He leans toward her neck and bites her.

Angel finds Tina, deadAngel checks Tina's body
Angel is running up to Tina's apartment. He opens the door and enters, finding Tina lying on the floor, dead. He gently touches the bite marks on her neck, then contemplates the blood on his fingers for a brief moment.

Tina's body is taken care ofAngel watches
The coroner's people are zipping up a body bag, containing Tina's body.

Angel is watching the goings on through Tina's window from a roof across from her apartment. He turns and walks to the edge of the roof and jumps off of it, into the darkness.

Angel steps off the elevatorAngel fills Doyle in
Back in his apartment, Angel steps off the elevator. Doyle is already in the apartment. He tells Doyle about what happened with Tina at the hotel party, and that the man who accosted her was named Stacy. He wants Doyle to ask around, see if he can come up with anything on professional muscle with that name. Doyle agrees.
Doyle tells Angel not to blame himselfAngel wants Winters to pay
Angel pulls out a phone book and tells him to start with the car. He describes the make/model and year, noting that it's going to need repair work. He tells Doyle the owner of the car will lead him to Stacy and Stacy will lead him to Russell. Angel is clearly feeling guilty about not being able to keep Tina safe.

Doyle tries to reassure him that he couldn't have done anything more.

Angel isn't interested in listening. He only wants to find Russell Winters.

Russell watches videotapes with his lawyer
Russell is ensconced in his mansion, watching Margo's videotape of the party, listening to his lawyer who's reporting on the status of matters pending.
Winters' lawyer gives him an alibi
Russell notes Tina's image on the videotape and expresses his regret at having to kill her so soon. The lawyer tells him that he [Russell] hadn't seen the girl for weeks and proceeds to tell him his alibi story. He also informs Russell that they've provided a 'witness' who will describe someone they will claim to have seen leaving Tina's apartment with bloody hands.
Russell is pleased with his attorneyCordy on the video
Russell is impressed with the lawyer's thoroughness and says so. The lawyer assures him that the law firm of "Wolfram & Hart" takes good care of its clients.

Russell sees Cordelia on the videotape. He asks the lawyer who she is and tells him he wants to meet her. He's looking for "something to eat."

Stacy's meeting about to be interrupted
Stacy is at his place of business, a gym supply shop, talking to someone when a trash can comes sailing through the plate glass window.
Angel, looking for answers
Next we see Angel shoving Stacy down onto a weight bench. Angel is demanding to know where to find Russell.

Stacy isn't anxious to answer Angel's questions and tells him he'd be better off forgetting this, that Russell will kill him.

Cordy, meditating
Cordelia is sitting in her apartment in a meditative position, telling herself things will work out for her.
Margo gives Cordy the news
The phone rings, it's Margo. She tells Cordelia that Russell Winters saw her at the party and he wants to meet her. Cordy recognizes the name as a "somebody" and is thrilled to have been noticed.

Margo tells her she'll send a limo to pick her up at 8:00.

Angel prepares for battleCordy in the limo
At Angel's apartment, he stocks up on weapons in preparation for his visit to the home of Russell Winters.

Cordelia is in the limo on her way to Winters' home.
Angel let's Doyle know he expects him to come along
At Angel's apartment, Doyle wishes him luck, expecting Angel is going to handle this on his own. Angel lets him know he expects him along, at least to drive.

Doyle offers a weak protest but Angel is clearly not interested in excuses. Doyle reluctantly follows Angel out of the apartment.

Cordy is escorted insideRussell greets Cordy
Cordelia follows the butler through the large hall of Winters' mansion, leading to one of the rooms. Russell is already there. He rises to greet her and dismisses the butler.

Cordelia admires the room. She makes small talk about the decorating and her nice home in Sunnydale that was lost to the IRS.
Cordy makes an admission
Russell notes Margo told him Cordelia wanted to be an actress, he asks her how that's going.

Cordelia answers it's going great, lots of offers, then reveals that it was one commercial and only her hands were used but she's still hopeful of better things.

Angel approaches the security guard
Angel's car drives up to the gate of Winters' mansion. Angel gets out of the car and heads over to the guard, tossing his keys to Doyle.

Angel tells the guard they got lost and asks for directions. He distracts the guard further with small talk then drops him with one punch.
Angel heads for the house
He reaches up and pulls the cables out of the security camera that's focused on the gate. He returns to the car, removes the jacket and Hawaiian print shirt he's wearing and tosses them inside. He retrieves a bag, containing his weapons. He instructs Doyle to tie up the guard and says he'll be out in 10 minutes or he won't be out at all. He heads toward the house.

Cordy is a bit depressedRussell offers his assisatance
Cordelia is still chatting with Russell, telling him how hard she's tried to break into acting and that she's usually more successful when she sets out to do something but she doesn't really know anybody in LA, doesn't really have any friends there.

Russell tells her he's her friend now and asks what she wants.
Cordelia realizes somethingRussell reacts to Cordy's realization
Cordelia apologizes for being melancholy over the career issue. She thinks her makeup is probably running because she was teary-eyed and looks around for a mirror to fix herself. She notices there aren't any as well as noticing the large, heavy drapes on every window. She comes to the immediate conclusion that he's a vampire and tells him so.
Cordy tries to coverAngel wires the electrical box
Russell denies it but Cordelia knows better. She explains that being from Sunnydale, where they have their own Hellmouth, she thinks she knows a vampire when she sees one. She then realizes she's digging a hole for herself and tries to back out of it by claiming she's just lightheaded from not having eaten and she was just kidding.

Angel is outside of the house, setting an explosive device on a 30 second timer.
Russell shows his true faceCordy makes a run for it
Inside the house, Russell turns vamp and begins to chase Cordelia through the house. She runs up a grand staircase of white marble with Winters in close pursuit.

Still outside, Angel throws a grappling hook up onto the balcony. He climbs the rope, jumps over the balcony railing and enters the house.

Doyle is sitting in the car, looking at his watch.

Russell catches Cordy
Russell grabs Cordelia at the top of the stairs. The explosive device Angel set goes off, blowing the fuse box. The lights go out as Russell looks around wondering what just happened. He releases his grip on Cordelia.
Russell realizes he has a visitor
A voice in the dark calls his name, it's Angel.
Angel steps out of the shadows
Angel steps out of the darkness at the end of the landing, into full view of Winters and Cordelia. Cordy is surprised and relieved to see who it is. Russell tells Angel it was a mistake to come to his house. Cordy realizes Winters has no clue who Angel is and offers her opinion that Russell is about to get his ass kicked.

Angel attacks Russell with a stake. They go back and forth fairly equally for awhile, then Russell throws Angel to the floor. Angel sees Russell's security people coming up the stairs with their guns drawn. When they've reached the top of the stairs and are all standing on the hall rug, Angel yanks it out from under them as he gets up and sends them tumbling.
Angel takes a bulletAngel, Cordy escape
Russell instructs his guards to kill both Angel and Cordelia. Angel stands in front of Cordelia, shielding her, and takes a bullet to his chest. He turns and sweeps Cordelia into his arms as the guards continue to riddle his back with bullets.

Angel jumps over the stair railing and onto the floor below, still carrying Cordelia. He sets her back on her feet. They run out the front door.

Doyle rushes the gatethe gate doesn't budge
Doyle, still sitting in the car at the gate, jumps at the sound of gunfire. He decides to make a hasty retreat. He starts the car, backs out of the driveway in a hurry and heads down the road.

He has a change of heart before getting too far as he turns the car around and rushes the gate. The car slams full force into the locked iron gate and comes to a stop. The gate didn't open.

Angel and Cordelia come running to the car. The front of the car is bashed in fairly badly and steam is coming out from under the hood. Cordelia jumps into the passenger seat as Angel falls into the back.

Doyle pulls out a bullet
At Angel's apartment, Angel is lying on his back, Doyle is digging a bullet out of Angel's chest.
Angel knows it's not over
Cordelia looks on, a queasy expression on her face. She bandages the hole after Doyle removes the bullet. She reckons she has nothing more to worry about from Winters since Angel scared him pretty effectively. She doesn't sound like she believes what she's saying, however.

Angel and Doyle exchange a look. They know it's not over.

Russell WintersLindsey fills Winters in
In a lavish office at a corporate building, Russell Winters Enterprises, Russell is in a conference room, seated at the head of a table with a number of associates seated around it. One of the men present, an attorney for Wolfram & Hart (the same lawyer who was at Winters' mansion earlier, Lindsey McDonald), tells Winters they don't know who the intruder was who broke into his home but they have investigators working on finding him.
Angel arrives
Angel walks into the office. Russell tells the attorney they've found their intruder.
Lindsey blocks Angel's way
Lindsey positions himself between Angel and Winters. He tells Angel he's with Wolfram & Hart as he hands him his business card. He informs Angel that their client, Russell Winters, has never committed or been convicted of any crime and that if Angel pursues this, they'll have to bring him into the "light of day". He reckons that wouldn't be too healthy for Angel.
Winters says he does what he wants to do
Angel nonchalantly strolls past the lawyer, staring at Russell. Russell tells Angel he stays out of public trouble, pays his taxes and minds his own business and for that he can pretty much do what he pleases.
"Can you fly?"
Angel's response is to put one foot on the seat of the chair Winters is sitting in. He ponders Winters' comment that he can do what he pleases for a moment, then asks him if he can fly.

Angel doesn't wait for an answer. He gives the chair a hard shove with his foot, sending it, along with its occupant, hurtling through the window, headed for the concrete several floors below.
Winters goes out in flames
Winters screams as he's falling, his body engulfed in flames by the day's sun. He turns to dust and disappears. The chair continues to the ground, splintering into pieces as it hits with a crash along with shards of glass from the shattered window.

Angel leaves the office. Lindsey immediately makes a call on his cell phone, indicating to someone they have a problem.

Angel makes a phone call
Angel sits by the phone in his apartment. He picks it up, dials. Buffy's voice is heard on the other end of the line saying hello a couple of times. Angel doesn't answer, he slowly hangs up.
Doyle
Doyle comes in and asks what happened with Russell. Angel tells him it's over. Doyle wonders why Angel isn't celebrating. Angel isn't feeling celebratory because he says he didn't help anybody, he just killed a vamp.
Cordy freaks over a roach
A scream is heard from upstairs and both Doyle and Angel rush to investigate. They rush into the office to find Cordelia with a duster in her hands freaking over a cockroach in the corner. She tells Angel they need to call an exterminator and a sign painter to paint their name on the door. Angel looks confused.
Cordy's ready for a job
Cordelia goes on to tell him that Doyle explained to her about what Angel was going to be doing and she invites herself to be a part of the effort, for paying clients of course, to pay her salary. She offers her opinion on a fee schedule and her salary, asking Angel if he thinks he can use her. She assures him it will temporary, only until her acting career takes off. She doesn't wait for an answer from him. She turns and walks away.
Doyle likes the ideaAngel knows Doyle is attracted to Cordy
Doyle expresses his view that Angel made a good choice, that Cordelia will be a good way to connect with people. Angel tells Doyle he's just glad she'll be around because he [Doyle] is attracted to her. Doyle admits that's true, but he still thinks she'll be a good addition anyway if Angel wants to take on the mission of helping people.

Angel indicates he's willing and ready.
Angel looks over the cityscape
Later, after the sun has gone down, Angel stands on the rooftop and looks over the city.
