"Sense and Sensitivity"

Written by: Tim Minear Original Air Date: November 9, 1999

Spivey makes a run for it
A guy with a duffel bag is being chased by a woman. He makes it to a parked car. Just as he opens the door he is kicked from behind, slamming him into the car door sending him sprawling to the ground.
Kate figures Spivey forgot
Kate Lockley stands over him, addresses him as "Spivey", and offers a sarcastic apology. The guy tries to get up, she kicks him again. She notes sarcastically that he was supposed to come to the precinct for questioning, but must have forgotten.

She grabs him and throws him down on the trunk of the car, cuffs him and tells him he has the right to remain silent.

Kate shows Spivey some picsSpivey and Papazian
At the precinct, Kate is telling Spivey to look at all of the pictures laid out before him. He responds that he did, identifies the man in the pictures with him as "Tony Papazian" and claims that he doesn't know where Tony is.

Kate asks if he has seen him since the day the picture was taken, the day the city supervisor was murdered. Spivey says he thought it was a suicide.
Kate reckons it wasn't suicide
Kate says he was shot in the back of the head, wrapped in plastic and stuffed into the trunk of his car. Not a likely scenario for suicide. She asks again where to find Tony.
Kate gets testy
Spivey still insists he doesn't know where the guy is. Kate suggests he look at the pictures. Spivey blows her off. Kate grabs him and pushes him against the wall, again demanding he tell her where to find Tony.

Other cops come in and pull Lockley off of the suspect, she leaves the room.

Kate takes a break
Kate is outside of the room, leaning on a railing. Another detective steps up and joins her. She apologizes for her behavior.

He concedes she should have been removed from the interrogation room before things went that far.
Kate is joined by Harlan
Kate notes they aren't going to get any info from Spivey on Tony's location.

The other detective, Harlan, reckons it's a dead end then, they won't be able to find Tony and he doesn't know who can.

Angel battles the tentacled thing
In the sewer tunnel, Angel is battling a tentacled creature attacking him from above.
Doyle tosses Angel the sword
Cordelia and Doyle arrive. Doyle removes a sword from a bag he's brought and tosses it to Angel.

Angel slices off a tentacle as it reaches for him, then slices through the body of the creature above him. Green goo rains from the eviscerated body.
Angel gives instructions on the way out
Angel tells Cordelia and Doyle to be sure to cut off all the parts and both heads this time and bury the parts separately. He doesn't want to have to fight it again. He throws the sword back to Doyle and tells them he's going to clear out the nest, he'll meet them back at the office and leaves.
Cordy feels unappreciated
Cordelia watches him leave then complains that he didn't bother to say "please" or "thank you".

Doyle thinks Angel appreciates them, even if he doesn't say so.
Cordy rants as Doyle struggles
Cordelia doesn't think that's enough. As she rants on that it would be nice if Angel would manage to notice and appreciate the people who work with him, Doyle is attacked by one of the tentacles which wraps itself around his neck.

Cordelia has her back to Doyle and remains oblivious to his predicament as she laments Angel's lack of attention to the niceties.

Cordy and Doyle enter the office, both looking exhausted and both covered in green goo. Cordelia is wondering if dry cleaning will get the stains out.
Angel starts to suggest Cordy do something
Angel doesn't seem to notice their disheveled state and starts to tell Cordelia she needs to do something but is interrupted by Cordy who insists she's not doing anything until Angel shows some interest and asks how things went.

Angel finishes what he started to say before Cordelia's rant, her mother called and Cordy should call her back. He wants to know what she was ranting about.
Cordy wants some appreciation before doing anything else
Cordelia asks if he remembers leaving them in the sewer tunnel with the tentacled creature. He notes that both are there, so he assumes everything went fine. Cordy wants more than that. She wants him to show an interest in the "feelings" of others.
Angel looks to Doyle for some help
Angel is mystified as to what she's getting at. He looks at Doyle for some help.
Doyle fills Angel in
Doyle points out that Cordy thinks he's callous and notes the irony in her being the one to bring it up since she seems to be oblivious to the same trait in herself.

Angel tells Cordelia that being undemonstrative doesn't mean not caring.
Kate arrives
Cordelia curtly suggests he spend some time learning how "the living" do things.

Kate enters, she wants to talk to Angel. They go into his office.

Angel peruses pictures
As Angel looks over some pictures Kate has provided, she fills him in on Tony Papazian. She says they have an indictment, but they don't know where to find the guy. They think he's still in LA, but none of the usual sources are coming up with anything.
Angel offers to check things out
Angel offers to look into it.

Kate wants to pay him for any information he comes up with.
Kate offers her private number
He tells her that's not necessary but she insists that it is. She gives him the number for her direct line at the precinct, telling him that time is critical. The police believe Tony is looking to skip town. She directs Angel to call her if he finds Tony, nothing more than that, he can't be involved any further. She doesn't want him to get himself killed.

Cordy goes through filesDoyle works at the computer
Cordelia is looking through files, Doyle is doing a computer search. Doyle indicates he's found plenty on Tony but surely most of it is stuff the cops have already.

Doyle looks at Angel then nods towards Cordy, raising his eyebrows at Angel.
Angel offers an awkward thanks
Angel awkwardly thanks Cordelia for going through the coroner's files, telling her he's sure it's not pleasant reading material.
Cordy finds Angel's attempt 'lame'
Cordelia thinks his attempt at sensitivity is "lame" and without looking up from her files, tells him so.
Doyle figures it's pointless
Angel looks back at Doyle, who simply shakes his head in response. Angel asks Doyle if he came up with anything.

Cordelia responds that she has the creeps, the guy is apparently responsible for bodies and body parts washing up all over the coast of Southern California.
Angel tells Doyle to check things out
Angel picks up the file, reads off some of the locations, then tells Doyle to get recent tidal flow charts and match them up with the dates on the killings. Angel thinks Tony has a primary deposit site for the corpses, somewhere he would feel safe.

Trevor Lockley
At the police station, a middle aged guy in uniform comes in. Kate greets her father. She asks if he was going to say hello to her.

Trevor Lockley tells his daughter he thought she was busy, and he was pretty much busy himself tying up paperwork for his retirement.
Kate
Kate tells him that Harlan mentioned they were having a retirement party for Trevor at a bar.

Trevor insists it's no big deal.

Kate mentions Harlan asked her to say a few words.

Trevor doesn't want her to go to any trouble.

She assures him it isn't.
Trevor on his way outKate watches her father leave
Kate is interrupted by a cop telling her she has a call. She starts to tell Trevor that she should take it, but he's already leaving.

Kate answers the phone. Angel is on the other end of the line, calling from his car. He gives Kate an address, pier number and directions on how to get there.
Angel checks things out
Kate wants to know if Angel is sure he's found Tony. Angel is sure, he tells her Tony has some backup with him. Kate tells him she's on her way, she wants Angel to leave.

Angel hangs up the phone, looks through a night vision lens at the scene and sees a yacht coming to pick up Tony.

Tony, Benny waiting for the yacht
Tony tells one of his bodyguards, Benny, to take care of his plants.
Angel joins Benny & Tony
Angel approaches them wearing a hat and an incredibly ugly Hawaiian print shirt. He plays the role of tourist, talking about how he got lost and hoping he's in time to catch the boat.

Benny curtly tells him he's still lost.
Angel asks about the boat to CatalinaAngel takes out the bodyguards
Angel asks if he's sure that the yacht coming in isn't the boat to Catalina, he's sure this was the one from the brochure.

Tony tells Benny he doesn't like the guy.

Angel hits Benny with one punch and knocks him out. The other bodyguard attacks Angel, proving to be not much more of a match for him than Benny had been.
Tony's escape thwartedKate faces off with Tony
Tony tries to run, but is cut off by a number of police cars, sirens blaring.

Kate steps out of one of the squad cars and greets Tony, her gun aimed at him.

Kate wants to know why Angel didn't leave
Tony is cuffed in the back of a squad car. Kate wants to know why Angel didn't leave when she told him to on the phone, after reporting Tony's location.
Angel offers an explanation
Angel tells her he couldn't just leave, Tony would have gotten away.
Kate being pissy
An ungrateful Kate admonishes him for putting them both on the spot. She tersely tells him to leave, she'll figure out how to explain things to her superiors.

From the back of the squad car, Tony glares at Angel as he's driven away.

At the police station, Tony demands his phone call.

Tony chats with his lawyerLee Mercer reassures his client
The receptionist answers the phone at the law offices of Wolfram & Hart. Tony is on the other end of the line, he wants to talk to Lee Mercer.

Lee is on the phone with Tony, assuring him that the problem will be taken care of as he looks at a faxed picture of Kate Lockley.

Mercer wants his client moved
At the police station, Tony, Lee Mercer, Kate and her lieutenant are in an interrogation room. A stenographer is recording the proceedings. Mercer offers court issued documents requesting Tony be transferred out of that precinct for his own safety.
Tony taunts Kate
Kate and Tony engage in a smart ass back and forth.
Mercer thinks his client is stressed out
Mercer wants Tony's comments stricken from the official record claiming his client is stressed by the abuse he's suffered from Lockley and someone who was working with her that Mercer admits they haven't yet identified, referring to Angel.
Kate claims ignorance of Angel's involvement
Kate claims not to know what he's talking about.

Tony says he saw her talking to the guy.

Mercer expects his client's rights to be respected, and assures that if further violations take place, Wolfram & Hart will vigorously pursue appropriate actions.

Kate wants to know what he's talking about.
Mercer clarifies things for KateTony is pleased
Mercer simplifies things for her. If their client's rights continue to be violated, they will make a public issue of the department and police brutality.

Tony is pleased with his lawyer's approach.

Cordy's happy to have an easy caseAngel isn't sure it's over
Back at the office, Cordelia finishes up some paperwork at the desk and observes it's nice to have a simple case for a change, easy problem, easily solved.

Angel isn't so sure it's over. He has a feeling there's more going on with Tony.
Cordy would like her shoes noticed
Cordelia gets up and steps out in front of the desk. She stands quietly and swishes her foot back and forth on the floor. After a moment, she notes she finds it incredibly interesting that Angel's feelings are so in synch with common evil, but he hasn't yet even noticed her new shoes.
Angel tries to explain the shoe thing
Angel looks down at her feet and begins to say that women's shoes aren't really the kind of thing men notice when they are interrupted by Doyle, who immediately notices, and compliments, Cordy's new shoes.
Doyle relays what he's discovered
Angel asks what Doyle found out about Tony.

Doyle says all he could find out was that Tony was up to something.

Angel now knows his feeling was right.

Kate gets congrats
Kate enters the Blue Bar where she is greeted by several officers, congratulating her on the Papazian arrest.

She walks up to the bar. The bartender sets a bottle of beer in front of her. Kate reaches for money to pay for it, but the bartender says her father already did.
Kate joins Trevor at the table
Kate takes the beer and joins her father at his table.
Trevor offers a toast
Trevor Lockley congratulates his daughter on Tony's arrest. He raises his glass in a toast, hoping the arrest doesn't fall apart before Kate finishes with the paperwork.
Harlan shows Kate the papers
Harlan approaches and drops a flier on the table. He wonders if Kate has seen it.

Kate looks at the flier and notes it's an announcement of required "sensitivity training."

Harlan says they all have to go through it now because of her abuse of Tony.

Trevor Lockley is glad to be retiring.

Alan Lloyd
The sensitivity training session begins at the precinct, conducted by a guy named Alan Lloyd.

Alan observes that he knows most of those present most likely don't want to be there. He asks for a show of hands, anyone who wants to be there raise his or her hand. Nobody does.
Alan looks for raised hands
Alan tells them he's there to teach them skills to deal with their emotions. He explains that learning this will make them better as individuals and better cops, teaching them how to deal with potentially explosive situations in the field, managing their own hostility, that sort of thing.
The talking stick
He holds up a knotted piece of wood, describing it is as a "talking stick", and explains its use as a tool in sensitivity training.

He goes on to explain that anyone who is holding the stick has free reign to express themselves honestly, without fear of judgment or ridicule from the group within the confines of the sessions.

He offers the stick to one of the officers, Heath, who is reluctant to take it. Alan gently urges him to accept it which he finally does.

Alan questions HeathAlan asks about his family life. Heath says he had six brothers. Alan wants to know what it was like growing up. Heath says he learned to hit back pretty fast. The room erupts in laughter.

Alan thinks his brothers were tough on him and wonders about Heath's parents.
Heath starts to talk
Heath says his mom was a single parent who did her best.

Alan offers that Heath had to be a tough guy from the start, not really able to express his emotions and tells him that's okay. He wants to know what Heath would like to say to his mother that he never did.
Kate cracks wise
Kate interrupts with a wisecrack. A few of the other officers laugh.
Kate takes the stick
Alan takes the stick from Heath and offers it to Kate, telling her if she has something to share, they'd all like to hear it.

For once, Kate has nothing to say.

Alan tells her it's okay, he knows that her inappropriate comments are a cover for her anger. He opines that she's uncomfortable with real emotion and that her anger is actually fear. He wants to know what she's afraid of.

Angel, Doyle question Johnny
Angel and Doyle are in an office, questioning Doyle's informant, Johnny, as he works out on a treadmill.

Johnny tells them all he heard was that Tony had a plan, he didn't know anymore than that.
Angel looks for info
Angel asks the source of what little info Johnny has.
Johnny tells what he knows
Johnny replies some guys who work for Tony were at the gym, talking to some other thugs. Johnny couldn't help but overhear them since they had to speak loudly to be heard over the din in the gym.

Angel wants to know exactly what was said.
Angel realizes Kate's in danger
Johnny says the other thugs observed that Tony's "crew" was going to have to look for new jobs since their boss was in jail. Tony's guys weren't concerned, saying that "no stupid bitch" was going to best their boss.

Angel realizes the "stupid bitch" refers to Kate and that Tony is going to go after her.

Angel needs to talk to Kate
Angel arrives at the police station. He tells Kate he needs to talk to her. She tells him she needs to apologize for her rudeness the other night. Angel assures her it's not necessary but she says her sensitivity training says it is. She offers belated thanks for his help in nailing Tony.
Kate issues an invitation
Kate asks him if he's free the next night, explaining it's her father's retirement party and she'd like someone to go with.

Angel agrees.

Kate asks him what's up.

Angel tells her he's heard some things, he thinks Tony is going after her. Angel says he'll stick with it, see what else he can find out.
Kate thinks Tony has issuesAngel, confused
Kate observes that Tony is really "acting out" and he must be in some real pain to feel the need to do such a thing.

Angel is completely confused by her reaction. He asks her if she's okay.

Kate notices she's spouting pop psychobabble and assures Angel she'll be back to her insufferably obnoxious self soon.

Alan meets with Lee Mercer
Alan is meeting with Lee Mercer in an opulent mansion. He is sensing Lee is troubled and wants to know why.
Mercer has concerns
Lee tells him he's concerned that all the effort and money Wolfram & Hart put into getting Alan into the precinct isn't going to pay off.

Alan assures him that after the next day's session, they'll see results that will please them. He walks over to an altar covered in lit candles.

Mercer feels reassured.

the retirement party cakeKate, Angel arrive
The retirement party at the Blue Bar is in full swing. Kate arrives with Angel, picks up a glass of champagne and says she's nervous but she's glad Angel is there.

Angel doesn't think that Tony's men would try anything in an establishment full of cops.

Kate says it isn't Tony that's made her nervous, it's the thought of public speaking.
Kate introduces Angel
Kate sees her father and walks over to him wishing him a happy retirement. Trevor asks who Angel is. Kate introduces him as a friend.
Angel offers congrats
Angel offers his congratulations, Trevor responds in a rather dismissive manner.
Kate wonders why Trevor is so dismissive
Kate wants to know why he pretends important things really aren't.

Trevor dodges the question, asking Angel how long he and Kate have known each other. Angel replies they haven't known each other all that long. Trevor is relieved to see Kate out with a man, he says he was beginning to wonder if maybe she wasn't interested in guys.
Kate is asked to make a speech
The lieutenant asks Kate to say a few words on the event of her father's retirement.
Kate starts her speech
Kate begins her speech in a rational manner, talking about how her father made a difference in his years on the force even though he won't admit it. She says he's probably the reason she became a cop too but then she drifts into a public, self-pitying whine that's proving an embarrassment to both of them.
Kate embarrasses herselfAngel reacts as Kate makes a fool of herself
She resents that he spent more time with his fellow cops than he did with her, that he shared things with them he wouldn't share with her, that after her mother left them he didn't pay much attention to her. She says that the neighbor's mother was more of a parental figure to her than her own father. She's hurt that Trevor never told her she was pretty, and on and on.

Harlan encourages her to "keep going".
Trevor, not enjoying Kate's scene
Kate tells Trevor she can't keep trying to get him to treat her like a daughter, that it was impossible after her mother left. She starts sobbing.

Harlan and the lieutenant argue over the appropriateness of this venue for Kate's self-indulgent pity party. Harlan defends her, the lieutenant thinks it was out of place.

Angel and Kate watch the officers arguing.

Harlan and the lieutenant continue their discussion, expanding into their own feelings and personal issues which results in the two of them getting into a fist fight.
Trevor escorts the Lt. outAngel suggests he and Kate depart
Angel pulls Harlan off of the lieutenant. Trevor leads the sobbing lieutenant out of the bar as the other cops in the bar are all crying, arguing or fighting with each other. He suggests the lieutenant to pull it together, then instructs some cops to take him to his precinct and let him sleep it off. He directs them to do the same with the others.

Angel escorts Kate out of the bar, suggesting they do the same.

Cordelia arrives, unhappy
Cordelia comes into the office, not happy at having been summoned late at night. She walks into Angel's office to find Kate lounging in the chair. Angel and Doyle are also in the office.
Angel offers a very relaxed Kate some coffee
Kate greets her with a slightly tipsy sounding "Hi". Angel hands Kate some coffee and suggests she drink some of it. Angel asks about the sensitivity training sessions, who's in charge. He wants to know the guy's name.
Kate asks if Angel wants to go
Kate rambles on about how wonderful it is and asks Angel if he wants to go to the sessions.
Cordy wonders if Kate's been drinking
Cordelia asks Doyle if Kate has been drinking as she mimes taking a swig from a bottle. He responds her behavior has something to do with the sensitivity training sessions.

Kate hands the flier about the sensitivity training to Angel, who exits to the outer office to check the phone book for Alan's address.
Kate makes an observation
Kate gets up and walks over to Cordelia and Doyle. She tells Cordy that Doyle has a crush on her.
Cordy thinks Kate's observation is ridiculous
Cordy, sounding slightly flustered, responds that's nonsense, they're just friends.

Kate tells her Doyle is hiding behind the jokes, but it's obvious he has feelings for her. She suggests Cordelia open herself to the possibilities.

Doyle thinks Kate is starting to make some sense.
Cordy yells for AngelAngel's found the address
Cordelia yells for Angel.

Angel comes back into his office, he's found Alan's address. He tells Doyle and Cordelia to baby-sit Kate while he goes to pay a visit to Alan's place.

Angel enters the altar roomAlan confronts Angel
Angel enters Alan Lloyd's house. He walks quietly down a hallway and enters one of the rooms, which is lit only by candles. It's the same room in which Alan was meeting with Lee Mercer earlier. Angel looks at the items arrayed on a small altar. The talking stick is resting on top of an open book.

Alan enters and asks Angel what's going on.

Angel replies that he was wondering the same thing.

Kate, whining
In Angel's office, Kate is rocking back and forth in the chair, her knees pulled up under her chin, her arms wrapped around them.
Cordy assures Kate Angel will return
Cordelia wonders if she'd like some coffee or a tranquilizer.

Kate sadly says he's gone.

Cordelia assures her Angel will be back.

Kate clarifies, she wasn't talking about Angel, she was talking about her father.
Doyle suggests Kate wait for AngelKate waves a gun
Kate gets up, deciding she has to go find Trevor. Doyle suggests she wait until Angel gets back but Kate is determined to go find her "daddy".

Doyle again tries to get her to stay put, but Kate pulls her gun from her purse, waves it wildly around and threatens to shoot both Cordelia and Doyle if they try to stop her.

Angel scopes out the altarAngel wants some answers
Angel is pacing in front of the altar. He looks at the offerings and wants to know which demon Alan gets his power from.

Alan tells him it comes from more than one, he isn't a monotheist.
Alan senses rage
Angel is losing patience. Alan senses his rage and tells him anger is just fear.

As Angel walks closer to Alan, he says he knows fear, he can smell it all over Alan.
Angel presses the issue
Alan backs away slowly as he tells Angel it's good to vent, to express himself. He asks what his parents were like just as he grabs the talking stick and strikes Angel with it.

Angel morphs into game face, grabs the talking stick and pins Alan to the wall with it. He tells him his parents were great, "Tasted like chicken", and suggests Alan should talk now.

things are weird in the squad roomHeath releases the prisoners
The police station is in disarray, with cops everywhere being all touchy, feely sensitive.

Heath removes some keys from his pocket, muttering that it's not fair to keep the men locked up like that, the strong ones preying on the weak ones. He looks through the bars into the cell block and hits the button that triggers the electronic unlocking mechanism for the cell doors.
Tony is set free
The prisoners, including Tony, leave their cells.
Kate yells for her "daddy"
Heath unlocks the door to the cell block and steps inside. He is jumped and beaten to the ground.

Kate comes running into the station calling for her "daddy".

At the scene of a car accident, a policeman is talking to the two drivers involved. He's telling them about his feelings having to deal with what he faces every day. He feels like a victim and it's ruining his home life.

A cop is counseling an elderly woman to listen to her muggers feelings as Angel runs by.

Angel runs into Cordy and Doyle
Angel runs toward the entrance of the police station, where he's met by Cordelia and Doyle. He asks what the two of them are doing there.

Doyle tells him they followed Kate.
Cordy fills Angel in
Cordelia adds that Kate has lost it, she looks like she's gunning for trouble. She adds that it looks like the entire precinct has lost it.
Angel gives Cordy & Doyle a hug
Angel smiles and tells them they need a hug, as he pulls them into one.
Doyle figures Angel has been affected
Doyle and Cordelia both think Angel has lost it as well, as they push away from him.

Cordelia wants to know what's happened to him. Doyle offers that it looks like he's been bitten by the same sensitivity bug as those inside the precinct.
Angel explains it's the talking stick
Cordelia suspects a spell and says as much. Angel confirms that it's the talking stick, it's cursed. Anyone who touches it is affected. He shamefully admits that Alan told him this after he resorted to violence. He says W&H hired Alan to neutralize the police so Tony could get away. The effects will wear off.

Cordy wants to know if they'll wear off soon.
Doyle demands Angel get it together
Doyle notes there never was a contract on Kate then. Angel confirms that's so, Tony planned to do the job himself all along. Angel feels sorry for Tony, who he thinks has obvious "issues".
Cordy wants Angel to go 'Grrrrr'
Doyle tells him to pull himself together. Cordy demands he do it now! She wants him to vamp, get inside the building and help Kate.
Angel refuses to vamp
Angel refuses to vamp, saying he feels they judge him when he does that. Cordy tries to convince him to do it, he still declines.
Doyle tries to get into the precinct house
Doyle steps up to the door of the police station and tries it, noting it's locked.

A cop informs him, through the locked door, that the station is closed.

Doyle tells him they can't shut down the place, they're the police!

The cop is feeling unappreciated, says they've done enough, yanks down the shade and walks away.

Harlan
Harlan walks up to Kate, who is sitting behind her desk. He says he understands how she feels. He tells her he knows it hurts to be ignored and rejected.
Kate wonders how Harlan can be understanding
She wonders how it is he can be so understanding.

He admits he knows because for months he's been interested in her, trying to get her attention, but she just sits at her desk, next to his, not noticing.

A shot is fired.

Tony has some helpTony & co. head for the squad room
In the cell block, Tony has fired a shotgun into the air. He tells the other prisoners they now work for him. He shoots a cop, then tells the others to accompany him as he goes looking for Kate.

Angel, Cordelia and Doyle are looking to find the best way into the police station. Cordelia suggests they break a window in an empty office and climb through it.

Angel doesn't think it's right to break the window. Cordelia insists it's the only way to get in.. Cordy asks for a rock. Doyle throws one, but doesn't come close to hitting the window.

Cordelia takes another rock and sends it sailing through the window, shattering it.
Doyle,Cordy and Angel break inAngel thinks they should leave a note
There are bars on the window that still have to be dealt with. Cordelia tells Angel to break them away. He shoves the bars through.

The three of them climb through the opening. Angel is bothered by the fact they vandalized the property to get in.

Doyle assures him they'll make it right later.

Angel thinks they should at least leave a note.
Cordy wants Angel to get movingAngel wants Cordy to say 'please'
Cordy is becoming increasingly impatient with the new "sensitive" Angel and demands he get moving.

Angel tells her there's always time to be considerate, he wants her to say "please" first.

Tony, looking for KateKate notes Tony's arrival
Tony enters the squad room and threatens Kate.

Angel enters with Cordy and Doyle in tow. Tony is glad to see he can now kill two birds with one stone.

Angel and Kate chat about Tony's obvious issues while Doyle begs Angel to do something.
Angel thinks a chat is in orderAngel, right before punching Tony out
Angel suggests they all sit down together and talk things out.

Tony thinks he's going to take advantage of the situation and says something unflattering to Angel which causes Angel to pick up the chair in front of him and hit Tony in the face with it.
Angel wishes Tony would have listenedKate, Angel share a sensitive moment
Angel is hurt that Tony isn't choosing to listen. He continues beating on Tony, finishing him off with a punch to the face that sends him sprawling to the floor.

Angel and Kate, still in talking stick influenced sensitivity mode, share a hug. They separate, look down at Tony on the floor and reflect on his actions being his undoing.

Lee Mercer on the phone with his client
At the offices of W&H, Lee Mercer is on the phone with Tony. He tells Tony he won't be getting any further assistance from them.
Tony wants to know what's up
Tony wants to know what's going on.
Angel on the video
Lee says he messed things up by shooting up a police station and attempting to murder a cop in front of witnesses. Wolfram & Hart is not interested in dealing with someone so reckless. They now see Tony as a liability and are cutting their losses with him. Lee informs Tony that W&H have more important things to deal with, as he looks at a surveillance videotape of Angel at the police station.
Lee has nothing more to say
Tony reminds Lee that they were the ones that instigated the entire situation in the first place and demands to know what priorities are more important.

Lee tells him there's nothing more to be said and hangs up.

Angel
The next morning at the station, Angel asks Kate how she's feeling. She admits to feeling like a fool. She says there's an investigation being made into the Blue Bar. The cops think someone spiked the punch at the retirement party, accounting for everyone's odd behavior, including her own.
Kate
Angel offers that maybe it helped matters with her dad, bringing it out into the open and expressing her feelings. Kate says she needs to get back to work. Angel says he needs to do the same. He walks away from her desk.

Trevor walks toward Kate and calls her name. Angel hears him and turns to check out the scene from the doorway.
Trevor isn't interested in explanations
Trevor tells Kate he got the message she left on the answering machine.
Kate gets upbraided by her father
Kate stammers, trying to find a way to explain herself.

Trevor lets her know she need not bother. He tells her she made a fool of herself and humiliated him in front of fellow officers. He doesn't want the incident brought up again, ever. He turns and walks out.
Angel reacts to the Kate/Trevor scene
Angel watches Kate sit dejectedly at her desk then slowly walks out.
