Angel makes a request
In the chamber of the Oracles ("I Will Remember You"), Angel is asking for time to be reversed, so that Doyle can be brought back.

The male Oracle impatiently rebuffs him, making it clear this is a request they will not honor.
the Oracles
The female Oracle asks why Angel wants to nullify Doyle's sacrifice, his atonement. She tells him Doyle died so that Angel would go on living and that he lives to see to it that others do.

The male Oracle tells him not to disturb them again with such trivial matters.
Angel wonders how he stays connected
Angel reminds them that Doyle was his connection to "The Powers That Be" (TPTB) and wants to know how he's supposed to continue the fight without that conduit.
the female assures Angel things will work out
The female Oracle assures him he'll understand things soon, one opportunity disappears but the way is open for another to present itself. They both turn and walk away from Angel.

The male Oracle waves his arm and both Oracles disappear in a bright flash of white light.

making an escape
A demon is fleeing down an alley, obviously trying to escape something. He is being pursued by a man dressed in black leather. We don't see the man's face.

Cordy
In the office, Cordelia quietly ponders the mugs by the coffeemaker, one at a time.
Angel asks what's going on
Angel wonders what she's doing.

She tells him she's looking for Doyle's "special mug". When Angel tells her there wasn't one, she replies that there should have been. She thinks it would make her feel better to be able to hold something that Doyle had left behind.
Cordy remembers her auditionAngel urges Cordy to get out for awhile
Angel strongly suggests to Cordelia that she needs to get out of the office for awhile. He tells her he'll handle things in her absence, not to worry about anything.

Cordelia resists the suggestion until the alarm on her watch chimes, reminding her of an audition she's going to be late for. She collects her things and rushes for the door, not wanting to miss this appointment.

Cordy, Barney startle each other
Cordelia opens the door to leave just as the demon we saw earlier fleeing down the alley is about to knock.

The demon invites himself in and tells Angel he needs his help.

Cordelia asks Angel if he needs her to stay, he tells her to go ahead to the audition.
Barney wishes Cordy good luck
The demon wishes her luck.
Cordy wonders how Barney knows
Cordelia wants to know what he's wishing her luck for since she didn't say anything about where she was going or why.

The demon says he "senses" things, he feels her anxiety and offers a suggestion on how she should deal with it.

Cordy leaves the office.
Barney wonders about the vampire thing
Barney follows Angel back into Angel's office. Angel takes a seat behind his desk.

The demon introduces himself to Angel as "Barney." Barney has a problem, but he's sidetracked for a minute by noticing it's 3:45 in the afternoon and the vampire is in his office. He's wondering why Angel isn't in a coffin somewhere instead.
Angel, annoyedBarney decides time to change the subject
Angel is annoyed that a demon seems to have so little knowledge of vampires. He impatiently explains that's a stereotype, there are no coffins and vampires can, and do, move around in the day safely as long as they stay out of the direct sun.

Barney sees he hit a nerve and apologizes for it.

Cordy breaks down during her audition
Cordelia is trying to get through her audition. She starts on the sell for laundry stain remover but breaks down in the middle of the dialog and starts to cry. She manages to finish her lines, but continues crying.
the panel wants 'upbeat'
The people she's auditioning for aren't sure what's going on. They tell her they're looking for something a bit more upbeat.

Cordy apologizes and asks to try again.
Cordy manages to finish her spiel
She wipes her tears away and forces herself into a more upbeat mindset to get through the dialog. She starts the spiel again, but in the middle of it, she's hit by a vision. She drops the stained shirt prop she's holding and grabs her head in pain as she continues to recite the audition dialog which comes out forced, choppy and loud.

The folks she's auditioning for thank her dismissively, sort of an unsaid "don't call us, we'll call you" reaction.

The black leather clad motorcycle rider is cruising on his bike in Korea town. His identity remains a mystery.

Angel questions Barney
Back at Angel's office, he's asking Barney what he's running from.
Barney explains his troubles
Barney tells him he doesn't know who it is, but he's some kind of unstoppable killing machine. He's been followed through several states and has tried numerous times to evade his pursuer, to no avail.

Angel wonders why Barney thinks the guy wants to hurt him.

Barney says the guy is a killer.
AngelBarney
Angel asks if Barney's pursuer is a demon.

Barney doesn't know, he thinks it's possible since the guy seems to know all the usual demon haunts and hideouts.

mystery man checks things out
The guy on the motorcycle dismounts his bike. He looks through a bag containing assorted weapons and removes a crossbow. He walks up to a building and kneels next to the foundation taking a moment to examine a smear of thick, yellow liquid he finds there. He touches it, rubs his fingers together, then stands and goes inside.

Barney, Angel
Angel asks Barney why he's been targeted.

Barney has no answer, he's a nobody and can't imagine why anyone would go to such lengths to kill him.

Angel is incredulous. He tells Barney that it would seem likely that his pursuer has a pretty strong grievance against him to have tracked him so unremittingly.
Barney makes an admission
Barney acknowledges that he's no saint. He explains that he's an "empath demon", he can read the emotions of others and this ability gives him a bit of an advantage in games of chance.
Angel figures Barney for a cheat
Angel cuts to the quick, pointing out that basically Barney is a cheat.

Barney doesn't deny it, but he doesn't see it as such a bad thing either, certainly not something worthy of being hunted down and killed over.

Angel asks if Barney knows of anyone who's got a score to settle with him.

Barney doesn't know of anyone. He asks Angel if he's going to help him out.

Angel eyes Cordy warily
Angel looks up from writing something to see Cordelia enter the office. She keeps her eyes fixed on him as she walks over to him, looking determined. He asks if she's okay.
Cordy tries an experiment
Cordelia grabs him and kisses him. Angel reacts with a mixture of surprise and discomfort as he gently pushes her away. He thinks she's reacting out of grief for Doyle's death and doesn't know what she's doing.
Cordy realizes it didn't work
Cordelia looks disappointed, she says she didn't feel anything. She wants to know if Angel felt something. He says he didn't and is still lost as to what's going on.

Cordelia expresses her frustration, realizing that she still has Doyle's gift.

Angel asks what she's talking about.
Cordy doesn't like the new gift
She tells him that when Doyle kissed her before he sacrificed himself, he passed it on to her. Cordy doesn't understand why her since she doesn't think she has anything to do penance for.
Angel realizes Cordy is his new connection
Angel finally puts two and two together and realizes she's talking about the visions. He verbalizes what he's thinking, that she is the one that now connects him to The Powers.

Cordy doesn't want to be anybody's connection to anything and tells Angel so. She thinks she probably lost the part at the audition because the vision occurred in the middle of it and messed things up for her.

Angel is interested in exactly what the vision showed her.
Cordy doesn't want to be vision girl
Cordy is interested in the fact it fouled up her audition. She tells Angel she doesn't really know what the vision was about, just some generic gray, formless thing. She doesn't see why it matters.
Angel tries to explain it's important
Angel tells her it matters because it was in a vision, which means it's probably trouble and something he needs to know about.

Cordy still doesn't care about it one way or another. The only thing that's concerning her at the moment is how to rid herself of Doyle's little gift. She figures since it was Doyle's kiss that transferred the vision thing, she should be able to get rid of it the same way and is determined to do so, no matter how many people she has to kiss to make it happen.
Cordy tries againBarney likes the service
Barney enters the office. As Angel is introducing him to Cordelia, she goes up to Barney and kisses him. Barney likes the service at Angel Investigations.

Cordy is more than a little repulsed.

Barney exits to the outer office.
Cordy asks what's up with Barney
Cordelia asks Angel what the deal is with Barney.

Angel answers someone is after him.

Cordy wonders if it has something to do with the gray formless thing she saw in the vision.
Angel directs Cordy to draw the vision
Angel gives her a pencil and paper and instructs her to draw what she saw. He tells her to keep Barney company, he'll be back later.

Cordy asks where he's going.

Angel tells her he's going to Barney's since Barney seems sure whatever is pursuing him knows where he lives.

Things are quiet outside of the rundown hotel where Barney is staying. A motorcycle is parked across the street.
Angel steps into the hallway
Angel steps out of the elevator into a darkened hallway, illuminated only by the flickering of a failing light fixture.

The motorcycle rider is ascending the stairs.

As Angel approaches the door to Barney's room, we see the shadowy figure of the motorcycle rider. He's got a crossbow at his side.
Angel checks Barney's door
Angel carefully touches the frame of a door, having found something there. He examines the residue on his fingers then turns abruptly as the door opposite opens.

A maid exits, dragging a cleaning cart. She smiles at Angel. He returns the smile. After she disappears down the hall, he opens the door and is suddenly roughly shoved through it from behind.
mystery guy takes aimAngel faces off with mystery guy
He turns to the sight of a crossbow aimed at his chest by the shadowy figure. Shadowy guy takes a step forward into the light and we see it's Wesley Wyndam-Pryce He greets Angel with a not especially friendly "hello."

Angel addresses Wesley by name in return.
Wes reveals himself
Wes says Angel probably never thought he'd see him again.

Angel assures him he hadn't really thought about him at all. He begins to ask Wes what he's doing when Wes, still aiming the crossbow at Angel, interrupts him, saying that he'll be the one to ask the questions. He threatens Angel with the crossbow, telling him that if he makes any sudden movements he'll shoot him with it.
Angel slaps the crossbow
Angel's had enough of the bluster at this point. He casually slaps the crossbow out of Wesley's hand and onto the floor.

Wes, humbled now, is willing to answer any questions Angel might have.
Angel checks out Wesley's new outfit
Angel barely manages to repress a smile as he walks around Wesley, taking note of his new choice in wardrobe. He wonders if the Council is changing its image.

Wes responds that he isn't in the employ of the Council anymore. He felt he could do more good working on his own than he could working for them. He walks a bit further into the apartment and attempts to place one foot on top of the bed as he starts to speak. His foot slips off the edge, nearly causing him to lose him balance.
Angel figures Wes got fired
Angel surmises what Wes isn't saying is that he was sacked by the Council.
Wes explains things
Wes indignantly denies the accuracy of that assessment, saying that there really wasn't much need for a Watcher with Buffy unwilling to work with the Council anymore. He claims he made the choice to become an independent demon hunter. He goes on to say he's in hot pursuit of an especially nasty demon and tells Angel it would be wise if he stayed out of the way.

Angel tells Wes he's wrong about the demon he's after. Angel thinks he's pretty innocuous.
Wes continues his tale
Wesley's take is a bit different. He tells Angel the demon he's after has left a trail of bodies, both human and demon. All of them were mutilated in some way. Each of those killed had some special kind of power, and whatever the physical source of that power; eyes, tongues, hands, etc. were removed from them.

Angel notes that the demon is gathering powers.
Angel describes Barney
Wes acknowledges that seems to be the point behind the killings but he doesn't know for what purpose the powers are being collected. He's been tracking the killer for a long time and over a great distance. He nearly caught it once and got a good look at it, but it escaped.

Angel describes Barney, wondering if that is who Wes saw.
Wes explains he saw something different
Wesley says what he saw was very different from Angel's description; large and very strong. He says it's producing some sort of yellow liquid discharge now.
Angel notices yellow goo dripping onto Wesley
Angel notes a splotch of yellow liquid on the shoulder of Wesley's jacket just as another splotch lands next to it.
The demon drops from the ceiling
They both look up at the ceiling just as the demon who has been clinging to it drops to the floor, landing between Angel and Wes. Fight ensues.

Wesley is hit and thrown across the room. The demon then turns its attention to Angel, who matches it for a while but the demon manages to get the advantage and knocks him to the floor.
the demon escapes
As it turns back toward Wesley, he fires an arrow from the crossbow into its chest.

The demon makes a hasty exit, crashing through the window, and runs away as Angel and Wes watch.

Cordy sketches while Barney watches
Back at Angel's apartment, Cordelia is working on a drawing of the gray formless thing she saw in her vision.

Barney comments that drawing is a good outlet for grief.

Cordy doesn't know what he's talking about.
Barney makes an observation
Barney apologizes for the intrusion and tells her he sensed her grief. He asks if she's lost someone who was close to her.

Cordy wants to know if Angel told him about Doyle.

Barney tells her that Angel didn't say anything. He sensed her grief because he's an empath demon.
Cordy doesn't like the intrusion
Cordelia isn't happy having her privacy invaded and tells Barney as much.
Barney offers an apology
He apologizes, saying he was just looking for something to talk about.

Cordelia apologizes in return, explaining it wasn't really about him, she's just having a tough time right now.

Barney knows she misses a friend and asks Cordy to tell him about Doyle.
Cordy talks about Doyle
Cordelia tells Barney that Doyle was a bit of a drinker and not exactly a snappy dresser, but he was very kind at times and he was also half demon. She says he didn't tell her that demon part for a long time. She thinks Barney reminds her of Doyle in some ways.

Angel and Wesley descend the stairs into the apartment.
Angel returns with Wes
Barney immediately recognizes Wes as the one who's been hunting him and is primed to make a run for it. Angel tries to explain things but Barney is more interested in getting out of Wesley's vicinity.

Angel goes after Barney as Wes prepares to do some research in Angel's library on the demon they saw earlier at Barney's apartment.
Cordy puts the mack on Wes
Wesley greets Cordy, surprised to see her. Cordelia walks up to him and kisses him, something Wesley seems to enjoy for the moment.
Cordy realizes it didn't work
Cordelia pulls back, realizing it didn't work. The vision gift didn't leave her.

Wesley is perplexed, to say the least, as to what that was about.

Cordelia tells him she was just experimenting with something, then asks if he's working with Angel.
Wes as "rogue demon hunter"
Wes tells her he works alone, he's just letting Angel help him with something. He explains his new status as "rogue demon hunter."

Cordy thinks on that a moment then asks, "What's a rogue demon?"

Wes departs to research the books in Angel's library.
Angel returns with Barney
Angel and Barney reenter the apartment. Angel has explained to Barney that Wesley isn't after him, he's after something else that seems to be after Barney. Angel thinks it wants to steal Barney's empathic ability.
Wes reads from the book
Wesley returns from another room, having found the demon in one of Angel's books. He identifies it as a "Kungai" demon. He goes on to read from the book that the Kungai are a powerful race of demons, Asiatic in origin, that are tenacious and deadly. They possess a "tack horn" that has the ability to drain the life force from those impaled by it.
Barney hopes things will be dealt with soon
Barney wants Angel to finish the demon off before it finds him.

Angel is willing, but first he has to find where the demon is hiding.

Wes notes that the book says the demon is of Asian origin and he had tracked it through an Asian section of LA that day.

Cordelia identifies the area Wes is describing as Korea town.

Wes believes in all probability the Kungai is hiding somewhere there.
Wes wants to go alongAngel tells Wes he'll handle it
Angel says that's where he'll begin his search for it.

Wesley wants to go along, since he's been tracking it for so long he feels a bit possessive about being in on the kill.

Angel tells him no, he doesn't want anyone else to die because they were working with him, then leaves.

Angel has questionsSoon isn't very helpful
At the Lotus Massage Parlor, Angel is questioning the attendant about the whereabouts of the Kungai in Korean. Angel and the attendant obviously have a previous acquaintance since they know each other by name. Angel addresses the man as "Soon".

Soon tells him they don't deal with Kungai demons, the regulars are afraid of them.

Angel intends to have a look around anyway.

Soon protests, saying he doesn't want his customers to be upset.
Soon suggests Angel check the backAngel gets the info he's looking for
Angel decides to take a different approach and offers Soon some cash for his trouble.

Soon suggests he check the back.

Angel directs the attendant to show him the way.

Angel walks down a hallway in the back of the massage parlor, carrying a small ax. He checks various rooms, each of which are obscured from the hallway only by curtains.
Angel is startled by a noisedemon guy looking for the shiatsu room
Angel is startled and turns quickly as one of the curtains is shoved aside. A slim, green horned demon wearing a towel wrapped around his waist and slippers steps into the hall. He asks Angel if he knows where the shiatsu massage room can be found.

Angel looks at the sight before him a moment, then turns and walks on down the hall, continuing his search.

Cordy finishes her drawing
Back at Angel's apartment, Cordelia finishes sketching her rendition of the gray, formless mass she saw in the vision.
Barney looks over the drawing
Barney asks what she just drew but she can't offer any explanations. She doesn't know what it's supposed to be. In frustration, she crumples up the drawing and tosses it onto the floor.

Barney offers to assist if there's any way he can.

Cordelia tells him he can't help unless he can explain the visions to her, because she can't make any sense of it.
Barney takes an interest
Barney suddenly becomes very interested at the mention of "visions" and asks her what she's talking about exactly.
Cordy explains about the visions
Cordelia explains about Doyle and the images he was sent by The Powers in the form of migraine inducing vision flashes. She says she'll never forgive Doyle for passing on this burden to her.
Cordy ponders Barney's words about the gift
Barney tells her that it was probably the only thing Doyle really had that was special and since it carries with it such enormous responsibility, Cordy should be honored that Doyle thought her worthy to have been given this gift.

Angel finds the Kungaithe demon, dying
Angel enters one of the back rooms at the massage parlor where he finds the Kungai demon lying on a table being tended by an elderly Korean woman.

The woman tells Angel that the Kungai is dying.

Barney makes a call
At Angel's apartment, Cordy is making coffee while Barney makes a call on his cell phone, telling the party on the other end that he secured the Kungai tack horn and it's stored safely. He glances at Cordy in the kitchen and tells the person on the other end of the line that he thinks he's found something even more valuable.
Barney conceals the cord
Barney hangs up the phone and approaches the kitchen. As Cordy as her back turned, tending to the coffee, he retrieves a length of cord from the floor and conceals it behind his back.
Cordy apologizes for the quality of the coffee
Cordy brings the coffee to the table, apologizing for the quality or lack thereof.

Barney responds by telling her she's pathetically delusional thinking she can ever be successful as an actress when she's so lousy at it.
Cordy, annoyed
Cordelia tells him he couldn't possibly know anything about her as an actress since he's never seen her in anything.
Barney reckons he's a pretty good actor
Barney responds that he doesn't have to. As an empathy demon he can sense it. He picked it up from her since she knows herself it's the truth. He offers that though she may be a lousy actor, she must admit he is pretty good considering he had her completely fooled.
Barney taunts Cordelia
Cordelia attempts to make a run for it but Barney intercepts her. He continues to taunt her, mocking her with the emotions he's reading regarding her feelings of guilt for Doyle; for not having been nicer to him, for not having given him a real chance, for thinking maybe there was something she could have done to keep him from dying.
Cordy gets grabbed
He grabs her by the arms and shakes her. He tells her she'd like to get rid of the visions, would probably like to rip her eyes out which is something he would like too. Then he throws her against the table and ties her hands behind her back with the cord he'd picked up from the floor earlier.

the Kungai tries to communicate with Angel
Back at the massage parlor, Angel picks up the arrow that had been removed from the Kungai's chest, examines and smells it. The demon takes his arm and says something. Angel tells it he cannot understand its language.
Wes arrives
Wesley shows up at the right moment and tells Angel he thinks the dialect sounds familiar to him. He sees the condition the Kungai is in and notes to Angel that he didn't think he'd wounded it mortally.

Angel tells him the arrow didn't cause this, the Kungai's tack horn had been torn off.
Wes tries to translate
The Kungai is weakly trying to get out the words in its native tongue to Wesley.
Angel reckons they need to know more than the obvious
Wes translates, telling Angel that the demon is saying someone took its horn.

Angel notes that much is obvious, they need to know who was responsible.

Cordy, in a pickleBarney enjoys the fear
Cordelia is lying on the table, Barney is binding her hands behind her back. She's scared and he's sensing it, enjoying the feel of her fear.

Wes continues trying to translate
Wesley is still attempting to translate the words of the Kungai, who's fading fast. He tells Angel that the demon is saying its horn was taken for some purpose, but Wes doesn't know the meaning of the word the demon is using to tell him what that purpose might be. Wes is able to translate the Kungai's next words, he says that others are going to die.
Angel is impatient for answers
Angel is getting impatient, he wants to know the who and the how.

Wes offers that he's doing the best he can under the circumstances.

Cordy gives Barney a swift kick
Cordelia tries once again to escape Barney. She knees him in the groin and runs for the stairs but he catches her before she can get to them.

Cordelia screams for help. Barney hits her, knocking her out.

Wes gets the demon's last words
With its last breath, the Kungai is trying to tell Wes who it is who tore away his tack horn, the one responsible for all of the killings.
Angel realizes Barney is the killer
Wesley is still having a difficult time with the translation.

The Kungai dies as Wes figures out the meaning of what it was trying to say. He translates the words aloud, leading Angel to the conclusion that the Kungai's killer was Barney.

Cordy checks out the surroundings
Cordelia is tied up and gagged, being held captive in a storage room of some sort. She opens her eyes and looks around the room where she sees the formless gray mass she saw in the vision. It's a sculpture. She also notices she's surrounded by body parts of various descriptions, all labeled, including a heart that's still beating, encased in glass.
Barney, Hank discuss business
Barney is there along with an accomplice, Hank. Hank thinks the best way to deal with Cordelia is to gouge out her eyes and get rid of the remains somewhere since they have no need for the rest of her body.

Barney reminds him that the price is higher if the eyes of the clairvoyant are still in place.

Angel reminds Wes neither of them suspected Barney
Angel and Wesley rush down the stairs of Angel's apartment. Angel is calling for Cordelia. Wes is feeling responsible. Angel reminds him neither of them knew about Barney.
Angel recognizes the drawing
Angel searches the apartment for a clue to Cordy's whereabouts. He finds the drawing she did of the sculpture. He tells Wes he recognizes it by name and artist. He thinks it may be the clue they need to find Cordelia.
Wes reckons Angel can do the saving
Wes figures if they can find the sculpture, they can probably find Cordy so Angel can save her.

Angel tells him they will go together. He needs Wes to translate the Kungai's word, the one that tells them the reason these things are being taken.

Angel, Wes ponder the info on the computerthe computer monitor display
Angel and Wes are looking at a picture of the sculpture on a computer screen. Angel notes that the sculpture was sold to a hotel chain several years earlier. There are a number of these hotels in the area, he figures one of them has to be the right one.

Wes finally figures out the translation for the Kungai's word he was having trouble with. He tells Angel it means "auction."

a roomful of biddersthe W&H representative
At the hotel, Barney has just finished auctioning off the Kungai's tack horn. There's a room full of individuals present, both demon and human. Wolfram & Hart is also represented in the form of a lady attorney.

Barney congratulates the buyer of the horn, saying it will draw the life force out of anyone stabbed with it. He suggests it's a very good investment.
Cordy is brought to the podiumBarney opens the bidding
Barney announces the next item up for bid. Hank escorts Cordelia to the stage.

Barney presents the eyes of the clairvoyant up for auction with the suggestion that the rest of Cordy can be disposed of however the buyer sees fit. He begins the bidding at $2,000. Before long the bid is up to $11,00. Barney is going for $12,000.

Angel gets the info, Wes gets armed
Wesley is using duct tape to secure a knife to his leg as Angel hangs up the phone.

Angel notes the "Ramsey Hotel" in LA recently underwent renovations and the sculpture was previously in the lobby of that hotel.

Cordy wants a higher bid
At the auction, Cordelia's eyes are about to be sold for $12,000. Cordy speaks up, in an effort to buy some time, exhorting the buyers to bid more.
Barney tries for more money
Barney calls for a bid of $13,000, which is met.

The Wolfram & Hart lawyer is on her cell phone with someone, obviously taking direction on what to bid.
a bidding war
A bidding war is going on between two of the auction's participants which turns into a physical confrontation between them. The current bid is now up to $19,000.

The woman attorney from W&H offers $30,000. The bid is accepted as final.

Cordy, Hank
In the storage room, the auction participants are retrieving their purchases. Cordy has been gagged again, her hands bound behind her back. Hank is holding onto her arm, threatening her with a wicked looking tool.
Barney offers to pluck the eyes, for a fee
The W&H lawyer tells Barney that her employers don't want Cordelia's body, they just want the eyes and requests that Barney remove them.

Barney agrees to do it, for an extra fee. After a bit of wrangling, the attorney agrees.
Barney prepares to pluck Cordy's eyes
Barney tells Hank to give him the tool for the job.

Hank argues that he wants to be the one to do it but Barney would rather do it himself.

Angel, Wes rush downstairs
Angel and Wesley arrive at the hotel. Angel asks one of the employees where the convention hall is. He points to the stairway. Angel and Wes head downstairs.
the employee, not helpful
After descending the stairs, Angel asks another hotel employee where the auction is being held.
Angel gets the info
The employee claims not to know anything about an auction.

Angel morphs into vamp face, grabs the guy by his coat and asks again.

This time the employee doesn't hesitate to tell him exactly where the auction is.

Barney prepares to do the job
Hank shoves Cordelia down into a chair. When she protests, Barney hits her. The W&H attorney looks on, appearing rather bored with it all.

Barney tells Cordelia not to move and assures her what he's about to do is going to hurt.

Angel, Wes arrive in the auction room
Wesley and and Angel rush into the now empty auction room. Angel is still in game face. He notices the sculpture is nowhere to be seen.

A man walks out from behind a curtained off section and asks if they have a number.

Angel, ready for a fight
In the storage room, the guy from the auction room is tossed through the doorway, diverting Barney's attention. Angel and Wes rush into the room.
Angel fights the crew
Barney tells Hank to fetch the stakes. While Angel is taking on several security people, Wes is hopping on one foot, fumbling with his pants leg, trying to get the knife loose he had taped to it earlier. He loses his balance and falls down, inadvertently tripping one of the guys who was going after Angel.

Angel is being held by two men as a third tries to stake him. He manages to kick the stake out of the guy's hand, sees Wes lying on the floor and yells for him to free Cordelia.
Wes helps Cordy out
Wesley crawls over to the chair Cordy is tied to. He's still fumbling with the knife, trying to get it free to use it to cut the ropes securing Cordelia. As Cordy urges him to hurry, he gives up on dislodging the knife, picks up a claw that's lying on the floor and uses that to sever the ropes.

Cordy and Wesley head for an exit but Barney intercepts them. He punches Wes. Wesley fights back and acquits himself pretty well.

making a discreet exit
The W&H lady lawyer is making her exit, ascending the stairs. She's on her cell phone telling the party on the other end that they aren't going to get their auction item after all. She reckons her employer probably knows who was responsible for fouling up the deal.

Barney on Wes as Cordy prepares to stick him
Angel is still fighting with the security men. Wes is still fighting with Barney. Barney ends up on the floor, on top of Wesley.
what's left of Barney
Cordy retrieves the Kungai horn that's lying on a nearby table and plunges it into Barney's back.

Barney gets off of Wes and tries to grab Cordelia but he keels over before he can get to her. His body changes to gray, then black, and finally deflates like a balloon with a small hole in it.
Cordy is grateful to be foundWes appreciates the recognition
Cordelia thanks Angel for finding her.

He tells her Wes was a big help.

Wesley smiles shyly, appreciating the mention.

Cordy frames the sketch
In the kitchen of Angel's apartment, Angel is cooking breakfast for Cordelia while she sits and the table and irons out the crumpled drawing she made of the sculpture, then puts it in a frame. She tells Angel she's framed the picture as a thank you to him for saving her and as a reminder that something of Doyle will always be a part of their office.
Wes hesitantly makes his farewells
Wesley prepares to leave and makes his farewells.
Angel serves breakfast to the 'family'
Cordy and Angel both bid him adieu but he doesn't seem too anxious to be on his way. He keeps finding things to say, just kind of hanging around seemingly hoping someone will ask him to stay.

Angel finally picks up on Wesley's reluctance to leave and invites him to breakfast, an invitation Wes hastily, and happily, accepts.
