Gunn brings Angel home
Gunn helps Angel into the lobby of the hotel. Wes and Cordelia are already there, asking what happened. Wesley helps Gunn get Angel to the couch. Gunn tells them Angel called him from the motel Darla was staying at. Angel is rambling ... he should have heard them, he was just too tired.....
the crew
The others ask where Darla is, what has happened. Cordelia figures Angel's current state is Darla's fault. Angel tells them "she's dead." He tells them that "they" made her drink, she tried to resist but couldn't, it was too late. Wesley tries to figure out who"they" are and what Angel is talking about. Angel says "it was her." Cordelia asks who the "her" is. He tells them it was Drusilla as he gets up and goes into the back office. The name registers with both Wesley and Cordelia as they follow Angel into the office. Gunn asks who she is.

In the back office, Angel is rifling through the desk drawer, slams it shut, then sacks the cabinet. Gunn figures it's safe to assume that Dru is a vampire. Wesley confirms that's true. Wesley tries to get Angel to take a minute, to sit down. He's too wound up for that. He says he has to find her. He can save her. Wesley asks who he's talking about. Angel answers, "Darla".
Wes, Angel
Wesley approaches Angel, crouches down beside him as he's rummaging through the cabinet and gently reminds him that if what he said is true, Darla is already dead and sometime after sunset, she'll rise a vampire.

Angel grabs a stake from the cabinet, stands up and says he can save her from that.

Gunn ponders the family tree
In the office, Gunn is talking to Wesley who's working at the computer. Gunn is trying to understand the vampire family tree; Darla sired Angel, Angel sired Dru, the W&H attorneys brought Darla back as human and now Dru has bitten her, making her a vampire again.

Wesley confirms that's accurate. Darla as human is dead and unless Angel can get to her to stop it, she'll rise again as a "soulless demon."

Gunn is still working on the family tree, realizing that the granddaughter remade the grandmother who is now her daughter. He finds that more disturbing than the whole blood drinking thing.
Angel has drink
Angel enters, grabs a glass of blood from the mini fridge and drinks it while asking Wesley what he's found. Wes tells him the sunset/sunrise schedule, the sun set six minutes earlier. Angel tells him Darla could rise anytime before sunrise. He asks Cordelia if she's found anything.

Cordy has spoken to Lindsey's assistant, he's in the office but in a meeting. He's been in one all day. Angel puts on his coat, the gang ready to goWesley reminds him he can't get into W&H's office building without their knowing it. Angel realizes this, he also knows it's what they want him to do. That's not his plan. He knows Lindsey isn't in any meeting. Cordelia asks where Angel is headed for. Angel tells her he's going to Lindsey's home.

Gunn is quick to offer to accompany Angel. Wesley says they'll all go. Angel tells them they're staying behind. Cordelia reminds him he needs them, he can't get in without an invitation. Angel tells them Lindsey gave him an invitation once before. This time he intends to kick the door down and "go through it, alone."

Angel realizes nobody's home
At Lindsey's, Angel kicks the door in and enters. The place is empty, completely cleaned out. He stands there a moment, taking that in, scanning the place. The landlady arrives and tells him the open house isn't until the weekend. Angel asks her if she knows where he can find the man who lived there. She tells Angel the previous occupant moved yesterday. Angel asks if he left a forwarding address with her. She says they don't give out that kind of information. Angel tells her it's urgent, it has to do with a mutual friend who needs immediate medical treatment.

The landlady offers that Lindsey asked everything be forwarded to his workplace. She asks Angel if he knows where that is. He says he does, thanks her and begins to leave.

The landlady asks if the matter is regarding "the cousin." Angel asks about the cousin. The landlady identifies her as the odd English girl. Angel tells her that's the one. The woman says she knew there were problems with that pregnancy the minute the girl told her about it, she was so thin, she knew it couldn't be healthy for the baby.

Angel asks her if Dru said she was having a baby. The woman says yes, she was excited about it and told her she was anxiously preparing the nursery for the birth. Angel realizes Dru would want to do the ritual. The woman goes on, saying that the "cousin" had said she wanted her baby born near the stars. She says she explained to the girl that in LA, one can live their entire life and never see a star (thinking Dru had been referring to celebrities).

Dru unshutters the window
At a small, rooftop greenhouse, Dru pulls the shutters away from some windows, revealing the starry night sky. She hears the stars "singing". She walks over to where Darla is laid out. Lindsey is there, eyes fixed on Darla. He wants to know if this place is satisfactory. Dru tells him that "grandmother" likes it, she can tell. Lindsey asks if Darla can hear her. Dru looks at him like he's crazy and informs him that Darla is dead ..... "for now."
Dru, Holland and co. at the greenhouse
Lilah enters and asks Lindsey if he figures he has a chance with Darla now. Holland joins them. He compliments Dru on looking radiant. She smiles and tells him she's about to become a mother. He smiles and agrees with her. He tells Dru if she needs anything she knows where to find them. They'd like to stay, but they have other plans for the evening. Dru has plans of her own. Holland and Lilah head for the exit, Lindsey lags behind, staring at Darla. Holland calls him to join them. Lindsey thinks perhaps he should stay. Holland says it's a family matter, it should stay that way.

Dru begins reciting a nursery rhyme as she gently positions Darla's arms across her stomach. Lindsey looks back at them, then finally follows Holland and Lilah out.

Gunn, Angel, Cordy
Back at the office, Cordy offers up a list of funeral homes, cemeteries, mausoleums and the like. Gunn wonders if they're expected to go to all these places and dig up graves.

Angel tells him that Dru would want to put Darla in the ground. Wes offers that it isn't a necessary part of the process. Angel says Dru would want to do it the traditional way. He tells them to stick with cemeteries with a view of the night sky. Cordelia sarcastically asks if they should just check out "outdoor cemeteries then."

Gunn notes that leaves a lot of options to be checked out. Wesley says that if it's the burial Dru is after, she doesn't need a cemetery, just dirt.

Angel thinks it over, he realizes that Dru sees this process as a birth, not a death. She had mentioned preparing a nursery to the landlady. Wesley thinks Angel is trying to make sense out of the thoughts and words of someone who simply doesn't make sense.

Angel's thinking dirt near the stars. He says Dru wanted to be close to the stars, she used to spend hours in his garden at the house back in Sunnydale talking to them.

Gunn offers that perhaps Dru wasn't referring to a baby nursery. Dru liked the garden, a plant nursery has the dirt and it's a place that's more about birth than death. Maybe if they look for one located up high, where there'd be a clear view of the night sky, they'll hit the right place. Cordelia suggests they check for a location that fits that description that has ties to W&H.

Angel lifts the shroudAngel prepares to stake Darla
Angel drops onto the rooftop, just outside of the greenhouse. He cautiously approaches the greenhouse and enters. He sees a box, filled with dirt. He runs his hand along the length of it, then begins clearing the dirt, revealing Darla, her face covered by a shroud. Angel lifts the shroud and looks at her. He slowly pulls a stake from his coat pocket and raises it, poised to drive it into Darla's heart.
Dru has other ideas
Dru comes up behind him and slams him with a spade. Angel is knocked to the floor. He drops the stake. He gets up, Dru slams him again with the spade. She tells him she saw him coming, the moon showed her. Angel starts to pull himself up again but he only gets to his knees before she hits him again.

As Angel and Dru fight, Darla awakens, bolts upright and looks frantically around. Angel finally manages to knock Dru down, grabs a piece of the broken spade handle and prepares to stake Darla but he finds the box empty.

He looks around, sees nothing. As he turns back toward the box, Darla grabs him by the throat and lifts him off the ground. She holds him in that position as Dru walks over to her and remarks that everybody is home now.
Darla as her old self
Darla continues to hold Angel firmly by the throat. Dru is pleased her baby has awakened. Darla seems briefly startled by Dru's presence, diverting her attention enough for Angel to get loose from her grasp. He shoves Darla across the greenhouse, picks up the stake he had dropped earlier and goes after her. Dru lunges at him and knocks him to the ground. He gets back up, they go at it while Darla tries to make her escape.

Angel sees Darla about to leave and grabs her. She slams them both up into the ceiling, then throws him across the greenhouse. Dru calls out to Darla and runs to her. Darla tosses her across the greenhouse. Angel gets back up, Darla charges at him and they both go crashing through the glass side of the greenhouse, out onto the roof. Dru comes out after them. Darla, now in vamp face, jumps on Dru. She has Dru on the ground, sitting on top of her. Dru laughs.
Darla quietly says "Angel"Angel looks over the ledge
Angel grabs Darla and throws her off of Drusilla, he picks up the stake and starts to raise it. Darla looks around, now back in human face, seemingly confused a moment. She quietly says Angel's name. He pauses briefly then raises the stake. Dru jumps him from behind and shoves him through the glass of the greenhouse. Darla takes off running for the roof ledge and steps off of it, falling to the street below.

Angel runs to the ledge and looks over, but there's no sign of Darla. He turns back and scans the rooftop. Dru has also disappeared.

Back at the hotel, Angel comes in. The others are already waiting there. He's in a hurry. He tells them to grab a weapon, they need to get going. Darla and Dru are both on the loose.
Angel hands out weapons
As Angel is handing out weapons, Wes asks if he knows where Darla and Dru are. Angel doesn't. Cordy wonders if he knows where they're going to be. He doesn't. Wesley wonders if he even has suspicions of where they might show up. Angel admits he doesn't. Cordelia wonders if it's a hunch then. Angel says it's not that either. Angel tells them that Dru and Darla are separated for the moment. If they can catch up with them before they rejoin each other, maybe they can stop something really bad from happening.
Angel intends to visit W&H
Wesley doesn't think that all of them patrolling in one car in a city the size of LA is going to be very fruitful. Angel agrees with that, that's why he intends to follow the one lead they have, W&H. Cordelia doesn't think that's a good idea considering the security they have at the office building. Angel knows Dru is crazy and not in a good mood, Darla needs to feed soon and then she'll be even stronger. The way he sees it, they can either go to the source, those who are responsible for bringing them there, or they wait around for the killings to begin. It's his decision not to wait, if any of them want to join him the car is out front. If they choose not to, he's fine with that.

Gunn is first to say he's ready. He and Angel head out. Wesley and Cordelia exchange a look, then follow.

In Lindsey's office at W&H, Holland enters. He wants to know if Lindsey is bringing a date to the party at his home that evening. Lindsey says he isn't bringing anyone. Holland tells him he's been doing good work and the senior partners have noticed but it's also important to have "healthy attachments" outside of the job. He knows the workload doesn't offer many chances for a social life but he suggests that Lindsey find the time. Holland reminds him not to be late for the party, he'll be opening a case of vintage wine.
Dru in Lindsey's office
Dru comes in, cradling a doll. She knows the wine Holland spoke of. She remembers drinking it once, it tasted like "lion's blood." Holland greets her. He apologizes for ignoring her, telling her he didn't know she was there as he gives Lindsey a stern look. Holland asks Dru if everything went well. Dru says she's worried about Darla, the building was tall. Lindsey notes that Darla is a survivor. Dru says that Angelus wasn't happy.

Holland's interest is piqued by the fact that Angel found them. He says it wasn't unexpected. He wonders how things went. Dru seems to be listening to voices only she can hear as she smiles and tells Holland that Angelus is on his way and he's "cross." Lindsey looks concerned. Holland isn't. They've taken precautions. He tells Dru the important thing is to "reunite you with your baby."Darla greets Lindsey
Darla arrives The phone rings, Lindsey answers it. He hangs up and tells Holland there's a general alert, an "untagged vampire" is on the premises. Holland suggests perhaps they should go to security. Lindsey opens the office door. Darla is on the other side, looking a little ragged. Lindsey smiles and says her name. Dru smiles. Darla rushes to Lindsey and embraces him, putting her hands on the sides of his head, her face close to his neck. She appreciates the warmth for a moment. Holland suggests Lindsey not make any sudden moves.

Darla throws Lindsey across the office. She grabs Dru by the hand and they both run out of the office together.

Holland picks up the phone and tells security to let Darla and Dru leave the building. As Lindsey gets up, Holland reminds him he said "healthy attachments."

the crew en route
Angel is driving a bit recklessly, the others are in the car, Gunn in front, Wes and Cordelia in the back. Wesley tells Angel to pull over, Cordelia is having a vision. Angel isn't willing to stop the car. Gunn figures it's probably a vision of them in a car accident considering the way Angel is driving.
vision girl does her thing
Cordelia tells him they need to turn around and go in the opposite direction. Angel isn't too keen on answering the vision call at the moment but after urging from Wesley, and Cordelia threatening him with a stake, he turns the car around.

On a crowded street, Darla is beating up on Dru. She picks her up and tosses her into the street. Dru stands up and is hit by a car. The driver gets out of the car, Dru gets up and is apparently unscathed much to the surprise of the driver. Darla pounds Dru again. She pulls her up and asks Dru why. Drusilla tells her she did it because she thought she wanted it, she thought Darla wanted to be saved.

As they're standing in the middle of the street, an obnoxious guy in a truck is laying on his horn, trying to get them to move out of the way.
Darla & Dru bonding
Darla softens toward Dru and releases her grip. Dru rambles about being alone in the dirt and the little worm not dancing even if it's told to. She breaks down crying. Darla hugs her.
Darla gets her first meal
Obnoxious guy gets out of his truck and suggests they take their make-out session out of the middle of the street. They both look at him. Darla approaches him, morphs into vamp face and puts the bite on him.

She drops his lifeless body to the ground and turns around, smiling. Dru smiles. Darla suggests they go shopping as they walk together, hand in hand, down the street.

In a garage, a young guy is kneeling in front of a homemade altar, gun in hand, offering to sacrifice his life for the demon he worships. The boombox is playing loudly.
the crew arrives at the garage
Angel and crew enter the garage. Wesley tells the guy they're there to help. The guy warns them to stay back. Angel is impatient. Cordelia tells him to be careful, the guy is close to snapping, she felt it in her vision. She tells Angel he needs to handle it carefully.

Angel picks up the boombox and throws it against the wall, smashing it. He grabs the guy's hand and takes the gun out of it, unloads it and tosses it into a barrel of oil. He tells the guy the demon he worships isn't worth it, it's not the way, he has things to live for. He starts to leave.
Angel has more important things to do
Wesley blocks his way and tells him they haven't finished. Angel informs him that he has. Wes figures The Powers had a reason for sending him there. Angel doesn't have time to figure it out. Gunn offers that perhaps the vision was sent to keep him from his other mission. Wesley says whatever the case, the young man still needs help. Angel tells Wes to help him, he has more important things to do. He leaves. Wes and Gunn just look at each other.

D&D do a little shopping
At a clothing store, Dru and Darla are trying things on. Dru picks up a dress and asks if she can have it. Darla tells her it's okay. Darla hands Dru a hat to try on. There' s a ringing sound. Dru looks amazed, she's ringing all over. She wonders if Darla hears it. Darla reaches into the bodice of Dru's dress and pulls out the cell phone. Dru realizes she forgot about that.

Darla answers the phone, she already knows it's Holland. Holland is in Lindsey's office with Lindsey and Lilah. He asks Darla if she's feeling better. She assures him she's back to her old self. He thinks that's good news. He knows she and Dru have been out having a little fun. He asks how they'd like a massacre. Dru smiles and licks her lips. Holland assures her they would have the full support of W&H. Darla tells him it's appreciated and hangs up.

Dru and Darla continue trying on clothes. Darla thinks they need some matching shoes. She calls out to the clerk, then walks over to a young woman who is injured, crawling on the floor, trying to get away. Darla reaches down and snaps her neck, lamenting the lack of decent service.

Back at Lindsey's office, Lilah figures Dru and Darla will be keep Angel's hands full for quite some time. Lindsey figures at least until Angel kills them. Holland doesn't think that will be as easy as Angel might believe it to be. In any event, Holland figures they won't be bothered by Angel for a while.
Angel enters through the windowLindsey in a familiar position
The office window shatters, Angel comes through it. He jumps over the desk, grabs Lindsey by the throat and demands to know where Dru and Darla are. Holland casually introduces himself and extends his hand. Angel suggests he be careful who he offers his hand to, he could lose it. He knows Lindsey can confirm that. Lindsey says there are worse things to lose.
Angel meets Holland
Angel shoves Lindsey aside and turns to Holland, figuring he's the one behind the scenes responsible for what goes on. Holland says he's one of many, he's in charge of "special projects." Angel figures Darla falls into that category to them. Holland assures him Darla is only a tool, "a means to an end."
quiet rage
The office door opens and a flood of security guards enters, all armed, some with stake batons, others with Tasers. They surround Angel. Holland tells Angel he is the "special project." Angel calmly assures Holland he could kill him before any of the guards could stop him. Holland knows that's probably true, but he's also sure Angel won't do it because he doesn't kill humans. Angel says Holland isn't one. He sets the plans in motion, playing his games and innocent people die. Holland's response, "And yet, I just can't seem to care."
Holland , Angel & security
Holland knows Angel cares though and he's wasting time there, Darla and Dru are out killing. Angel wants to know where they are. Holland isn't telling. He suggests Angel hurry, there are a lot of people waiting for him to come and save them. Angel looks around at the guards with their weapons. He's not convinced Holland intends to let him walk out. Holland assures him he does. He says they don't want him dead .... yet. Holland instructs the security team to escort Angel out of the building. He tells Angel he'd do it himself but he's running late for a wine tasting party at his house. He wants to be sure Angel knows he's not invited.

Angel escorted out of W&H
The security people, accompanied by Lindsey, escort Angel out into the street where the police are waiting. As the cops handcuff Angel and lead him to a waiting squad car, Lindsey suggests they give him a nice holding cell with a window and full sun exposure. He tells Angel the firm may not want Angel dead, but the idea doesn't bother him a bit.

Angel gets into the back of the police car, Kate is seated on the other side, in the back seat. Angel figures this is just what he needs along with everything else.
Angel, Kate in the squad car
Angel asks her how she wants to play it, figuring she plans on setting him up to be dusted during an escape. She tells him that people were murdered at a clothing store. Witness reports have two women leaving the scene and the description of one of them fits Darla. Angel doesn't say anything. Kate knows there will be more killing. Angel confirms there will be. He wants to know why she's telling him about this. She says she doesn't think she can stop them, but maybe he can. She tells the driver to pull over. She unlocks the handcuffs. Angel looks at her a minute, then gets out of the car.

At Holland's house, his wife, Catherine, answers the door. Lindsey enters. She tells him Holland and the others are downstairs, in the wine cellar.

In the wine cellar, Holland is telling those gathered that the senior partners have been very happy with the work of their division. Their plans have been progressing and are ahead of schedule. He singles out Lindsey and Lilah with a toast for their efforts in making success possible. Holland goes on to say that the efforts of their division are just a small part of a bigger plan. He is interrupted by the arrival of Dru and Darla.
D&D ready to party
Holland smiles weakly, trying to cover his discomfort. Darla tells Holland that his wife was kind enough to invite them in. Dru says she was very sweet and licks her lips. Holland's face drops as he realizes what's happened. Darla says they were just giving them what they want. Holland doesn't know what she's talking about. Darla reminds him he mentioned a massacre as she and Dru morph into vamp face.

At the clothing store, the police are combing the place for evidence. Angel enters unnoticed.

Back at Holland's, there's a lot of quiet fear. Holland tells Darla he's glad they were able to save her. Darla says it must be because he cares about her so much. She supposes she owes all of them. Everyone looks frightened except Lindsey, who has a small smile on his face.

Dru walks over to Lilah and touches her face, noting the softness of her skin. Lilah nervously says she moisturizes. Dara is unhappy with HollandDru thinks that was very considerate of her.

Darla gets in Holland's face. She reminds him they brought her back as a dying human, let her "wallow with a soul" and then sent her "crawling back to Angel" begging him to turn her. Holland says Angel should have done that right away. He misjudged him. He thought he cared for Darla more than that.

Angel finds a witness
Back at the clothing store, Angel works his way to the back. He finds a terrified young woman crouched in the corner of one of the fitting rooms, hiding. He assures her it's safe now. She says they killed people. He asks if she was there all along. She says she needed a new dress for the office party, she was trying on dresses, she was afraid they were going to come back and kill her too.

Angel asks if she heard anything. She says she thinks she survived because of the party. Angel tells her she has time to make her party. She tells him not hers, theirs. They were in a hurry to get to it. Angel asks what they said about a party. The woman said it was a "tasting."

Angel puts the pieces together and figures they were headed for Holland's house. He tells the woman to come out and find a cop, she'll be okay. He extends his hand to help her up.

Dru
Back at the wine cellar, Dru is rambling. She hears sirens, "they don't know if the world will be there in the morning." Lilah hopefully asks Lindsey if he hears anything, if he thinks the police are on the way.

Lindsey says no and tells her that Dru is sensing what the building was originally constructed for. Holland offers that it was originally built as a bomb shelter in the 50's. He had it converted to a wine cellar.

Dru talks about frightened people, huddled together. Holland figures it was probably like that during wartime. Darla clarifies for him that Dru is talking about now.
Darla, Lindsey
Holland tells Darla he's sorry for her suffering but it worked out for her. She's a superior being now, she can have whatever she wants and everyone in the room will work on her behalf to see she gets it. Darla tells him all she feels in the room is fear. She looks at Lindsey and notes that he's the only one who isn't afraid. She walks over to him, teases his neck with her teeth but doesn't touch and tells him she senses nothing coming from him. She wonders why he isn't afraid. Lindsey doesn't know the answer.
Darla, Lindsey
Darla tells him he could die, he probably will die. Lindsey knows this. Darla wonders why he doesn't care. Lindsey says he does care he just "doesn't mind." Holland laughs nervously and says nobody is going to die, they are colleagues, they're all on the same side. As he's talking, Dru is swaying back and forth behind him. He's not comfortable with her proximity.

Darla likes the room. She puts one arm around Dru and the other around Holland and tells Dru when they get a place, they really must put in a "people cellar."

Angel arrives at Holland's"Daddy's home"
Angel arrives at Holland's. The front door is open, Catherine is lying on the floor bleeding, but not dead yet. She asks Angel to help them which provides the invitation he needs to enter.

In the cellar, Dru senses that "daddy's home." Angel steps into the wine cellar. Darla greets "Angelus" and asks if he's come for the "tasting." Dru is disappointed, "it's not daddy, it's never daddy." She hisses at Angel. Darla asks if he came to punish them. Dru's all for that. Holland pleadingly says Angel's name. Angel doesn't take his eyes off of Darla. He tells her he's sorry he didn't make it in time. Darla isn't. Dru says he's "soul sick", he's not thinking of his "family", only "them" as she grabs the head of the guy standing next to her and jerks it downward.
Darla greets "Angelus"
Darla says she never got the good-bye kiss. Angel tells her she will, but not tonight. Holland's face is finally showing true fear. Lilah begs Angel to help them. Lindsey just smiles. Holland is hoping for Angel's help, telling him that people are going to die.
Angel leaves the guests to their fate
Angel looks at Holland and echoing his own words back to him replies, "And yet, somehow, I just can't seem to care." Angel calmly closes the doors to the wine cellar and locks them from the outside, leaving everyone inside to the mercy of Darla and Dru. Holland frantically shouts an offer to Angel to negotiate. Darla smiles and wraps her arms around Holland, sinking her fangs into his neck. Dru smiles as she looks toward the closed doors and quietly says, "daddy." Angel calmly walks up the stairs out of the cellar, his face expressionless as the sound of screams fills the air.

Angel back at the office
Back at the office, Angel is sitting at his desk. Wes, Gunn and Cordelia are each seated in front of it. Angel has just told them what happened at Holland's. Wesley quietly says that Angel just walked away. Angel glibly says no, he walked to his car then he drove away. He is unemotional, detached.

Wesley's expression is one of disbelief. He looks at Gunn. Gunn looks to Angel for confirmation that he really did do nothing. Angel doesn't answer. Wesley says that Angel left Darla and Dru to do what they wanted. Angel reminds him that he wasn't the one who brought them into this. Wesley argues that Angel could have stopped them. Angel says he will. Cordelia wonders just when he intends to do that, after they've killed everyone he dislikes?
Wesley reacts
Wesley knows that those at W&H brought their fate upon themselves but he believes Angel's actions were wrong. Gunn says Angel went too far. Wesley tells him they've all been worried about him, they all share the blame, they should have spoken up sooner. Gunn offers that they should have spoken up louder as well. Cordelia tells him he has to change the way he does things, and asks if he knows where this is leading. Wesley pleads with Angel to heed those words, noting the three of them are the only thing between Angel and real darkness. Gunn tells Angel he should believe that.
"you're fired"
Angel is quiet a moment, and then says he does believe it. He pauses briefly and tells them they're all fired. He gets up and walks out leaving Wes, Gunn and Cordelia sitting in stunned silence.
